Mcspizzy Posted November 26, 2017 Posted November 26, 2017 As the title might suggest, this is not talking about items inside of a backpack specifically, rather the actual item in the slot on your HuD. Simply put, the addition of a timer to take things such as a rifle or backpack off would add a nice touch when interacting with these items, rather than them just snapping to your hand as soon as you click on them. The timer would put out a message such as: you begin to remove x off your back (this will take about 1.5 seconds), or Urist Mcraiderface starts taking their backpack/un slinging their rifle! This could also extend to taking items out of a backpack, but mainly just a short timer (1.5 seconds sounds right) for these two instances are what i'm really going for.
Fortport Posted November 27, 2017 Posted November 27, 2017 I like this idea, but I don't know how this would affect balance. Officers can still whip stuff out, like tasers and the like if they're attacked. This is mainly for big items. Hmh.
LanceLynxx Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 I like this idea. Makes sense, nobody puts or removes backpacks, bags, etcetera, instantaneously. Usually takes at least half a second. As tasers and stuff, they wouldnt be in the back slot, they are usually either on the belt or inside the bag.

I kinda like the idea of officers having to find another place to stow their taser as opposed to in their backpack.
alexpkeaton Posted November 28, 2017 Posted November 28, 2017 This is a slippery slope though. How much time would it realistically take to remove the Cap's antique gun velcroed to the back of a backpack than from inside the backpack? I would argue it would take longer to get it from inside the backpack (I highly doubt that people are walking around with backpacks that are easy to get into otherwise stuff would spill out when you walk anywhere). So is the balance we want here truly the balance we need?
Haveatya Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 I like it, mostly for taking on/off items from back as stated.
Ron Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 It would have to be applied to everything similar to remain consistent, and I'm against that.
Pacmandevil Posted November 29, 2017 Posted November 29, 2017 I don't see a reason for this to exist, as for it to be non annoying, it would be able to be done while moving, which changes nothing balance wise, and just makes the game less responsive and more annoying.

I don't think it changes nothing! This gives more of an advantage to whoever attacked first if the other side dropped their guard enough to holster their rifles/shotguns/whatever's on their back. But that only helps in those specific situations, as this tweak only affects those and you wouldn't normally be bothered by it anywhere else.

Butterrobber202 Posted December 3, 2017 Posted December 3, 2017 Only for storage back items like Backpacks and satchels, it would be pretty lame for guns and stuff.
