In my mining PR, there are dangerous creatures that spawn when you break rocks. Thats as close as you're going to get to mimics I think.
ReynTheLord Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Isn't it a mechanic that voidsuits can rupture, and when they do, if the person wearing it is in space or on the asteroid outside of the station, they're as good as fucked? Might want to consider that before subjecting miners to potential for that, If that is a thing.

If you made some of them mimics, miners would become completely disinterested in them at best (and ACTIVELY try to lure people into them for shits and giggles, at worst). This suggestion is more trouble than it's worth.
Scheveningen Posted March 14, 2018 Posted March 14, 2018 Mimics only make an appearance in the cargo warehouse because of an issue where a former mapper accidentally (maybe) used the wrong crate path to add a crate into the security firing range. This is of historical notability because of how many people were mauled due to this slight 'accident' in mapping and the dev team thought it too hilarious to remove entirely, so mimics have a little under a small chance of occasionally spawning as a hostile mob in the cargo warehouse. It's not ideal to further increase the chance of people being mauled by a hostile crate, though, it's supposed to be one of those, "One in a thousand rounds" type things, because this is SS13 and things are allowed to be goofy once in awhile to pay homage to the original style, while keeping it rare enough from happening since we're also a HRP server. The intent is to not be too unserious and also not to be too serious. The balance isn't perfect but it's enough for some people to be satisfied (not really). We don't really need more mimics.

I died three times in one round, the first round Cratey was introduced. Fucking Cratey. That said, mimic crates will just get shot to shit like current crates. This'll add nothing to the round.

Pacmandevil Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 no one can guess the code. Completely false, it just requires a magical thing called skill. There's several guides to doing it, and I used to do it all the time when I actually played at around 1300. If you want a hint, use a multitool.
