  1. Jennalele is certainly one of the best RP'ers we have on the server currently. Indeed, the skills present rival some of our current heads. I have no doubt having Jenna as a head will provide an example for a few heads, as well as for new players coming in. As well as just doing good in whatever department decided. +1 from me, most certainly.
  2. BYOND Key: Covert0ddity Character Names: Vincent Capriello, Reini Hinson, Dragan Kieldim, Vivicus Cicero, Tibald Seguro, Chandler Lestrange, Kieria Schalal, Carter Morian, Marcus Kaplan, Golden Light In Faded Void, Erik Tiber, Vebelak Ski'shtoris. How long have you been playing on Aurora: Since formation. Species you are applying to play: Unathi. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Affirmative. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Unathi are my kind of species. Honorbound and unique, I find playing as a species that has guidelines or specific ways to play are much more fun. Despite hassling from certain people, I actually do like Unathi a lot. Their lore is detailed and interesting, and allows a more reptilian species onto the playing field. I've always wanted to play Unathi, so here I am with my whitelist now. Also I got very interested after that Unathi slaver round I hosted. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Unathi are not as flambitous as humans are. I don't think that's a word, but it will do. Unless you have some sort of Bushido-code traiend human, you cannot get the same kind of personality as you would with a standard Unathi. They are intrigueing. Why does this species in particular hold your interest? Pretty much the above statement, as this is literally just a rehash of the first question. They are honor-bound and hold a personal bond due to my love of reptilian like species. Essentially, they are very fun to play as and interact with. Character Name: Isilithai Uaekis Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Isilithai was born in the Moghes' Heartlands, among a small tribe. Growing up looking up to his father, he modelled everything he did after the man. In his mid teens, he became his clan's hunter and accompanied his father on a hunting trip into the jungles of Moghes. After hours of hunting, the worst occured. As Isilithai hunted a small threshbeast, a small tribe of Yaeh Gaw intercepted the hunting party. While the rest of the hunting crew suffered severe losses, including the mortal wounding of Isilithai's father, Isilithai retreated. A tactical decision on his thinking, but turned for the worse when he returned with the news. After relaying his story with earnest, his clan discarded him. Alone and without honor, he contemplated commiting to the life of Guwani. He decided against it eventually, instead taking on a fake clan name, and collecting what funds he had, to the nearest Sol Alliance Recruitment offices. Signing up as a base soldier, he payed for and recieved an ROTC course in which he retained his life-long Unathi honor, but learned new human ways and concepts of warfare. After some time of being a small time warden officer on a small backwater station, he left the Sol Alliance and applied at a job at NanoTrasen. Years of being a security officer and warden later, his application for Head of Security was finally accepted, and he was stationed aboard he NSS Aurora. What do you like about this character? This character is really nothing too unique. Generally I develope backstories as I begin to 'learn' the personalities of my characters, so I come up with generic backstories to set their initial 'personality path' in the beginning. This is one of this generic stories. I hope to build Isilithai up in the future. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I would rate my roleplaying skills to be average, or slightly above. Notes:
  3. Negative, he used to have a major crush on her and Sue found out somehow so she put it there?? I don't know either.
  4. Jennalele is one of the best RP'ers that we have, and have had. Seeing their RP has allowed countless hours of fun, simply watching. Someone I would trust in a head or staff position, let alone an alien. I definitely can't wait to see the Squshy Squish in game. +1
  5. I... I... oh. Well, by god, it still counts.
  6. Reserving a spot for myself here.
  7. Generally I do not vote on applications. However, I'll step aside and give my +1 to Nanayanyanya, due to what I have witnessed of they're roleplay. They are well mannered in OOC, a joy to be around, and they're characters are fun to roleplay with or stalk as a ghost. They seem to have a grasp of the species and having another tree friend is always great. Hope to see you around as the tree!

    Milo's Rants

Milo's wish for another lizard will come true when I get my damn computer back.
  9. Thank you for submitting your sprites! We already have Sue working on them, but we had some issues with implementation some weeks ago and we may require new sprites. If Sue does not have sprites, or does not want to do them, we'll accept yours. I'll talk to her about it. Thank you again. Now all we need is the code. If you're also able to do this, add me on Skype (The Fence, Covert0ddity if you can't find that) and we can go over it, pending revision of the lore to make more sense.
  10. It has been a very long time since this happened. I believe you were either being disrespectful or jokey in your play. I support this unbanning.
  11. Audalius Seroga finishes cleaning his bloodied blade, sticking into the sheath at his waist. Adjusting his mask, he tears it off with a hissing. He's home. He begins to look around the room, finding his computer terminal and sitting. He doesn't bother removing the visor or his slightly bloodied tactical vest and webbing. He stares at the screen before powering on ask me. Why the man did this every day was merely for his own reasons. Finding Vira De Santos he opens the profile, staring for a moment, saying nothing, yet admiring the weaponry in the background. A clock can be heard ticking in the background.
  12. I generally refrain from voting, but I'm going to have do drop a +1 here. Duck is one of the best role players around. Bar none. They already play a fairly m emotionally devoid character, and an IPC will simply make this kind of character all the more greater. Looking forward to it.
  13. BYOND Key: Covert0ddity Character Names: Vincent Capriello, Reini Hinsin, Necron, Marcus Kaplan, others who I rarely, if at all, play. How long have you been playing on Aurora: Since creation. Species you are applying to play: Dionaea. Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Have done did. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question: Why do you wish to play this specific race: The Dionaea are an interesting species. The most, truly alien of all works in our races so far, apart from possibly r upcoming addition of the Va'tramra'av (haha), I'll admit to myself never coming p with the idea of a plant person that lives in a sun as a congolnerate organism. Hm. Either way, the race interests me and I recently made a nymph to accompany my introduction of the character. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I've got, at the very least, a damn good excuse to be long winded and poetic, expelling my need to debate philosophy on an ooc level, I can just do it I game! I kid. But with the Dionaea, I get quite a few options I don't get with drab, boring old humans. I get to be slightly lax on professionalism, and be a pacifist, something I rarely get to do as human. Why does this species in particular hold your interest? Well, I already clarified above, but the Dionaea are the most unique of all the races. Character Name: Golden Light In Voided Darkness Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs What do you like about this character? I haven't entirely developed it yet, but I am liking the fact that this character will be very poetic and thinking. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Decent enough. Notes: Plant people?
  14. Skull actually gave me a rather good idea a week or two back in regards to their origins, which I will be factoring in in their revision, along with multiple actual science based biology additions. The idea is that they actually began on asteroids, and have only recently begun to inhabit small moons and other large celestial objects. In the past, they had no control if where their asteroid-nests went, but now they can change velocity and orbiting pattern with minor thrusts in accordance to position. This would also make the species themselves not require a hard suit, and have an immediate buff and debuff right there. Slow in gravity environments, and no space damage. Factoring in their nests aren't designed to go far, they use fighters, generally cut out if their nests or other asteroids, to engage their foes. On how they feed on said asteroids will have to be debated later within my mind. Crystals? Space fungi? In regards to use fullness of boarding pods, I'll have to disagree. When it comes to medium, or even some small sized ships, (let alone capital) the goal is not to annihilate, it's to capture. Perhaps not with the alliance, but when your forces are veery slow and don't number many, a prospect of another functioning ship without expending resources to build is very inviting, in the case of the Va'tramra'av. And I thought I clarified there was tech differences. I'll make that more clear.
  15. We've got some basic lore on hand for blue space, but it still needs some refining and some tweaks to fit in with whaatnwe have. Mechanics here: http://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=Bluespace As far as what you see, BS travel is instantaneous via gate and instantaneous via drive-gate transportation. Customn coordinates, and it's likely undescribable colors and weird, non euclidian shapes.
  16. My major issue with things like 'chucklefuck characters' is their probability of being hired on the station. While it seems to be a running joke, and has offered a lot of laughs before, that NanoTrasen doesn't give any forethought or shits on who they hire. I don't think this should be the way it is. Any corporation, it doesn't matter how big, will have their bad eggs, of course. But said eggs will be squashed. I find that everyone has to take a psychological test, a written test to make sure they are capable of doing what they are hired to do, and a small interview with a resource manager. Okay, that'll sort out the rabble right then and there. I wouldn't go ahead and say "Blaaagh all funny characters are bad." Rather, limit the act to once in a blue moon.
  17. I would say they serve as much a purpose as the other races. For good RP. There is no /need/ to have other races, or overwhelming compelling desire. If these guys are a race that at least someone will have fun with playing, same with any others, then by God why not? Either way, no real purpose. Good RP.
  18. Also stated in the lore, the drones and warriors are completely genderless. The only gender is the queen and the prince, princes die immediately after mating.
  19. Yes, you could make a charcter like that. Some other ideas is that a drone simply petitioned their queen, or wants to make credits for their hive. As long as a drone has permission from a Queen and their actions doesn't harm their Hive in any way, it's pretty much fair game.
  20. They're given as gifts, or to figure out more of humanity. If you read some of the lore, each one of the drones, warriors, queen's and princes are, sentient beings, capable of making their own decisions. However, they feverently serve as a queen. Each hive has a different motive for sending drones to work for humanity, and you can read about it in the faction lore. For example, the Zo'ra clan wants to improve relations, and the Vess'ex hive has an infatuation with humanity. Both to Chaz and to France.
  21. Sue will be submitting sprites of what we have so far. If accepted, expect *implementation after bug(hehe) testing from sound* before, pending update schedule.
  22. Hello there! Covert here with another race idea. Well, this one is not really an idea. It's actually a finished production. Indeed, this species is already coded and all of its lore is finished. Here is the lore. Species Name: Va'tramra'av (Va-Tra-Mra-Av) Home System: Sedantis (Sc'theth'stak, "Blinding Light.") Homeworld: Sedantis IV (Va'tramra'avai, "Home.") Majority languages: Zo'rane, K'laxane, Va'tramra'avese. Major Polical Entities: Zo'ra Hive, K'lax Hive, Vess'ex Hive, Lii'dra Hive. Synopsis: An insectoid species whose personalities and specialisations vary wildly with each hive, the Va'tramra'av, (Pronounces Va-Tra-Mra-Av) are one of the youngest, and the most recently discovered, races on the galactic play. The Va'tramra'av evolved on a planet covered in vast seas, rocky plains, preferring to stay underground. They have traits similar to ants, or termites, from the human homeworld, Earth. They were discovered five years ago. Va'tramra'av have no gender, apart fromtheir Queens and princes. Each Hive is ruled by a High queen, and multiple lesser Queens. Va'tramra'av population is skyrocketing fast as they continue to grow. While all of their hives combined only encompass 34 systems, they are growing immensely, and have a tendency to overpopulate their planets to an extreme. While their military is lacking, warriors of the species are ones to be reckoned with. Biology: Social: Political: Government: Currency: Geography: The Military Naming: Language: Diet: The Social System: Space Travel: Known factions: Zo'ra Hive. K'lax Hive. Vess'ex Hive Lii'dra Hive These are all the factions that intelligence has provided. Statistics dictate there to be at least ten more hives, size differentiating. Mechanics wise, they are unable to wear outer jackets and suits, have their own hard suits and are resistant to brute damage. They do not breath, and are resistant to radiation. They react extremely badly to pesticides and varying temperatures, heat or cold, making them easy laser targets. The only playable caste would be drones, from whatever hive listed, or another hive if someone wants to make up a name. The race will be introduced with a large event.
  23. So not very often then? Or atleast they never do it when I am on, which is sods law really because ERT is all I normally wanna play. >.< Well, the times that I've seen them have been very memorable. Them, and these Solar Union troopers from this one RP Revolution round. They've generally seemed sensible, no-nonsense, and well disciplined in-game. Then again, I've only been here a few weeks. How do these ERT's normally work, in terms of how they operate? I've always wondered about that, I've only ever seen them from the sidelines in-game. I think Covert wrote up ERT lore, or something of a draft. And yes, ERT is called way more often nowadays than it is now. To the degree that crew members actually know who the troopers are. --L/Tpr James Henderson-- Indeed, I sent you what I had via pm. If you didn't get it, I can send it again. Still working on the little niggly details, but they'll be done soon enough.
  24. Selvion is dead.
  25. This. This is rather beautiful. Truly, the best events are ingame inspired. I've been only to one funeral ingame, and it ended when a meteor hit the chapel. But to see this, with such realism and pure... heartfelt feelings, I actually shed a tear. I curse that I missed it.
