  1. IAA protects the corporation interest not the crew interest. Make IAAs act as judges (since they have to be sort of impartial in these matters), add a lawyer (union representative) to stop security from occasional power-tripping and to validate the paperwork, make the detective act as a prosecutor (to add some sort of purpose to his existence)
  2. This guide is a combination of common wiki knowledge and personal experience. It has some information that can be found useful by a beginner CSI. It might not be entirely reliable or extensive. The basics were covered, yet there's always room to experiment and improve on your techniques. Chapter 1: Who Am I? Chapter 2: Getting Ready Chapter 3: We've Got a Call Chapter 4: Crime Scene Investigating Chapter 5: Processing Evidence Chapter 6: Building a Case Chapter 7: Wrapping Things Up
  3. CSi deals with gathering and analyzing evidence and therefore doesn't always have time to do an autopsy (especially with having to break your way into the morgue) Surgeons deal with operating live patients and therefore don't always have time to do autopsy (especially when their patients are stacked up and in critical condition) MDs deal with treating live patients and therefore don't always have time to do autopsy (especially when the patients are stacked up) So even though surgeon/CSI could do an autopsy, it would be much better if we had a designated role to process bodies and do autopsies, since surgeons and CSIs have a lot of shit to do besides that
  4. Well problem here is not so much the lack of access itself, but the frequent inability to carry out one's duties as a CSI. There's no stable procedure of how the interaction between medbay and sec should be handled, therefore medics tend to think they do not owe anything to anyone apart from providing medical treatment. Alternative suggestions of how to solve this situation are welcomed. For example, i could settle with inplementing a "coroner" to medbay, whos duties (actually wriiten down in his guide or something) would be specifically managing morgues and interacting with security investigators (as opposed to treating crew)
  5. Medical Examiner is a harmless flavour tweak. However i also see this job as a part of medbay. As for medbay access - that's been areal issue for quite some time which needs a solution. Definitely +1
  6. That backdoor in maint was a blessing. However there's been some minor changes in medbay, and that door is now autopsy lab's door (and therefore is access restricted). So no backdoor anymore. Also, i apologise, i think this suggestion was a part of another post some time ago, although the door was existent at that time. Here's a link https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=9284
  7. CSI has access to morgue, which is perfectly reasonable, seeing how they are required to deal with bodies frequently. The issue here is that the morgue area (which CSI has access to) is encircled with a general medbay area (which CSI has no access to). So it has become fuel for an absurd amount of arguments with medbay staff. Yes, i get it that CSI should not remove bodies from the morgue without medbay's permission, yes, i get that this promotes interaction between department. BUT! I don't appreciate arguing with medbay staff for 40 minutes about whether CSI needs a warrant to visit morgue or whether CSI should be arrested on charges of trespassing for going to the morgue through an area CSI has no access to. So i would like to request adding general medbay access to CSI. If that's irreasonable, i'd like some clarification on how this is supposed to work with the current state of things (i.e. can medbay nerds deny access to the morgue? Can they do it without stating a valid reason? If they don't, what regulation covers this happening? And so on)
  8. Well she's a great detective partner, i know that much. She takes her job seriously and (oh i'm not alone in this, appreciated) tries her best to maintain paperwork. As for her characters, i've seen some Hawkins and Otis in the background doing a decent job, but never really had an opportunity to trully interact with them so i can't be a judge of that
  9. I can't really judge myself objectively, and i feel that an old habit from MRP is pulling the character down. So yeah, feedback appreciated, go ham.
  10. Leonce will forever stay in my heart as an officer who met and guided me as a cadet through all the differences and basics of Aurora station when i first set foot on it, securing my transition from MRP to HRP
  11. PB is great at randomly starting interactions (which is very hard for me myself) and being overall a lovable pAI, so he's always pleasant to run into and chat with
  12. Well, i've been around Opamator while working through my shifts at ISD. He's a decent officer, i didn't really interact with him that much but he's always there at the background doing what a good officer does. The only rp highlight involving Opamator was positive. It was a training sparring where he tried to explain how to defat an IPC, while subtly hinting in the midst of it at his clearly synthetic nature, so by the end of the scene, which i initiated to find out how to go hand to hand with IPC i knew clear as day the the answer to my question is "you don't and" and that if i ever get myself into a CQC with Opamator while tagged as a criminal by his algorythms, i'll get my puny human head crushed GoT style, although it was not stated to me directly. So yeah, it was terrifying in a good way, so it's a cautious +1 from me. Although i would like to have more interactions with Opamator 2.0 to get a better feel of what he's like and to solidify this vote.
  13. I am sorry but, I simply cannot agree with that statement of not feeling very welcome. As a cadet you can be commanded around by Officers, you disobeyed a direct order twice not from me but by another Officer to then get my support. If you did not comply with the standard regulations as a security member, we had no other option but to fill in a demotion request and brig time as you were clearly not interested in helping the security staff. If a third party (CCIA) proves me wrong i will lift the -1 since it's quite like me to be vindictive for no apparent reason. However that whole situation was one huge mess. The comments, the disregard for cadets, the holding after the sentence was up. A commander should be able to deal with any situation smoothly as it's arguably the most difficult roles, most of all if the situation is so default, and the handling was anything but smooth
  14. I didn't feel very welcome in the ISD as a cadet after getting 15 minutes in brig and a requested demotion for switching out of my uniform. The comments accompanying that process were even less supportive of the app, Could be just a bad day for you, but that's a -1 from me since it was the only highlight involving Hughes i remember
  15. Reporting Personnel: Alan Grimm Rank of Reporting Personnel: Security Cadet Game ID: bQx-b4k0 Personnel Involved: - Aaron Hughes, Warden (offender) (Aaron J. Hughes) - Freya Chunley, Security Officer (offender) Time of Incident: Real time: 1700GMT ? 19/09/17 Location of Incident: Security Department Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property []Neglect of Duty [x]Harassment []Assault [x]Misconduct []Other Overview of the Incident: At some point during the shift i decided to take a lunch break. After switching out of my uniform to a casual suit i was on my way to the bar, when officer Chunley was encoutered. In a rather rude manner she pointed out that she didn't like the suit and said i was to change back to my uniform. After a verbal exchange of disrespect i stated that i was going for a lunch. Officer Chunley then decided to use force and dragged me to security. I didn't resist. In security hallway warden Hughes was encountered. After talking about the situation with officer Chunley, warden Hughes stated that if i wouldn't comply officer Chunley should arrest me on charges of i111 - Failure to Execute an Order and i206 - Neglect of Duty because and i quote "i don't care about useless cadets". Officer Chunley then dragged me to processing and found me guilty of the following crimes, adding a rather unproffesional incident report to the charges. After being processed i was dragged to the holding cell by warden Hughes. Undergoing a full strip i was denied my right for a pda for no apparent reason. After serving my sentence of 15 minutes i was held further in my cell. Apparently the reason behind this was that warden wanted my demotion and tried to hold me in the cell until all the paperwork and id upgrades were done. Captain's intervention was requested, but the sudden explosion in the maintanance tunnels prevented the final judgement from being announced. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: Klaus Eliade, Head of Security; Paul Jonson, Captain Actions taken: Due to the pressing situation aboard the station no immediate actions were taken. Captain advised to take this matter to CCIA. Additional notes: Reqested punishment for both offenders: requalification by retaking a mandatory 4-week cadetship.
