  1. I don't think clothing usually matters, but some heads might insist "all Security Officers must wear current uniforms - this means you, guy with the red jumpsuit" and from an IC and OOC point of view some staff, say, Doctors, should be recognisable; a labcoat, say, or the white backpack to make it immediately apparent that the cavalry has arrived. I remember there was one botanist who went around topless, but Security put a stop to that pretty fast.
  2. When firing/throwing objects on an angle, the shot makes the major adjustment in a nearby tile. You can fire horizontally (or near enough) while right next to cover/a comrade safely, but vertically you need a square of empty space. Blue marked tiles are where someone could be hit by an angled vertical shot, red for horizontal. Basically if you know a gunfight's coming and can get near cover before the enemy turns up, you've got a serious advantage, because you can lean out and shoot him without fear of being hit by return fire. /me arms his tear gas grenade

    Merc "Op" Voting

I'd be okay with this... assuming that voting for clown marines results in the vote being discounted and the player who did so gibbing instantly. It'd make for more serious ops and less chucklefucks. See on one hand... I like the idea of clown marines. I just don't like the idea of it coming up often. Like once a week at most. Clown Marines is already possible, you just need a while of space adventure to find the Derelict and collect your glorious uniforms. The vote would just make it easier.

    What about Clown Marines?
  5. Pretty sure there's a more reliable makeshift PSU board in the research tree somewhere.
  6. IIRC lasers don't cauterise wounds, they explode them; flash-heating moisture into steam, with the messy consequences you'd expect from that. No idea what e-swords are, though. The embedding is the worst. I like Canon's idea, too.
  7. You'd think so, but they really don't.
  8. Soon™: Urist McTator fills a spray bottle with Pun-Pun blood and goes around spritzing it under various tables and objects to render the shitcurity liggers helpless.
  9. If your breasts are big enough to absorb weapon fire, I'd damn well better not see you running about in a hardsuit.
  10. Sec and ERT are reactive; they can't help you when Urist McNuke kicks his way into your office, all they can do is come by afterwards to pick up the bodies and cartridge casings. When the redsuit plants C4 on the door and readies his C20 for a brisk round of BREACH AND CLEAR, all you can truly count on is yourself and your pilfered e-carbine.
  11. Paradise has a timer bar thing for actions, so I think it's possible codewise.
  12. I don't think they'd need a time limit; there's pretty much nowhere you could put one of these that people would be completely unable to bypass it. How would they interact with those three-wide hallway airlocks?
  13. Perhaps transplants might be more common if sufficient organ damage couldn't be healed with meds OR surgery?
  14. It sounds good to me, though it should probably have reasonably quick power drain to give tators a reason to buy the syndie version instead of wiring one up.
  15. Flashbangs are unfair, yes. Personally I think reduced range or reduced effect - or, perhaps, with playtesting, both - would be good.
  16. HALT! HALT! HALT!
  17. *ping, extend my wrench and gank some mice.
  18. People using full windows instead of window/grille/window, generally.

    Socks!

Maybe - if they can be taken off and soaked with Chloroform.
  20. Who's going to code all this?
  21. Counterplay for the LWAP is to keep away from windows or, at least, to have the hostage between you and the window. Counterplay for someone going antaghunting with an LWAP is, uh, have one of your own, or a near substitute, or to avoid giving the user a clear shot. Could be a bit tricky if they know what you look like.

  23. As I understand it, le spess raycism isn't workable as a character concept because at the slightest hint of intolerance, half the crew- and not just the ayylmaos either -will jump in to deliver an after-school special PSA about how terrible it is to call a rude lizard shitbag a rude lizard shitbag and how the responsible party should shut up and check his spess privilege.
  24. It sure would be nice to have a class of characters to lend a helping pair of hands. Surgical 'borgs occasionally need assistance.
  25. At a guess, you would have - if the round were canon. It isn't, so some random HoS somewhere else got in a situation that was suspiciously similar and got fired. Frontier isn't exactly unified - you could probably just invent your own or have an antag'd character decide to pocket something valuable to take home to the motherland.
