  1. This is the last major infinity stone to ensure my (almost) total sprite dominance over the suit sprites of the server. Sadly, some evil, villainous force known as players decided to do the worst they could muster ; politely and correctly ask for a feedback thread on sprites they believed to be controversial and potentially a net negative addition to the game. The sprites redone are in the following order ; TCFL suits + EVA suit Hazard + CE suit Some explanation for the spriting direction ; 1. The stylistic direction was altered to match current suit sprites, of which it does, probably. Pending input, duh. 2. The colors take on a much more vibrant, less muted tone, intentional especially with full-body apparel to maintain distinct characters from dull backgrounds. For the individual suits ; TCFL suit : Takes on a slightly more understandable appearance, less cluttered and ultimately looks like a vest with pauldrons slapped on (which it is.) EVA suit : Maintains the sort-of duller stylistic choice of the EVA suit to contrast the shiny polish of the CE suit - the direct superior option bar rad shielding. Hazard suit : Dull red. Looks like old redsec, and looks both older and meaner. The previous sprite looked chunky and a little out of place due to its shiny polish. CE suit : Shiny, as God intended. There isn't much else to the design direction here - and yes, the helmet is meant to look akin to a hardhat. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/11324 For reference, this exists after the merging of the following PRs which make the rest of the game's suits fit the same style. Below are the department suit resprites. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/9850 Below are the faction resprites. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/11157
  2. an update - a second pr was opened to resume the ass pain. Seen below https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/11325 This also resprites some stuff in accordance to feedback, namely squashing/recoloring the lasrifle and ecarbine.
  3. As a note, literally anybody can request a feedback thread from git or personally to a person's DMs or through a server ping. As far as I am aware you are obligated by the contribution rules to provide one, even if you're a dev. With that said, I'll give you guys a thread you can slap this input on. Not to shoot down your opinions, but I would appreciate more direct criticism - your feedback is good, but I need tangible ways to work on the sprites as well beyond "fix it," for example. This isn't saying that's what you said at all, just an example.
  4. LORE DIARY ENTRY #1 This is a lore diary entry for FEBRUARY 2021. See below for changes to lore in this month! This is a new diary entry system where every loredev submits their entries for the month, posted at the end of the month. Major changes in the spoiler below! There's 1 major setting change and 1 Human lore change. Medium-sized, niche changes in the spoiler below! There's 2 Tajaran entries and 1 Human entry. Small additional fluff in the spoiler below! There's 5 Tajaran entries, 1 IPC entry and 1 Skrell entry.
  5. OOC coverage in red! Welcome to the Orion Spur Oracle news outlet. This coverage only exists for the first article. This is a news outlet explicitly made to cover major events. No unimportant information is contained here. For older/returning players, this is effectively the successor to the Mendell City Bugle, which will be temporarily archived for overhaul. Post markers will exist for arc start points and arc endings! EYES OPEN! ORACLE OFFICES ESTABLISHED Welcome to the Orion Spur Oracle. We are a recently commissioned company of SCC-hired reporters, journalists and writers whose offices opened on the NTCC Odin as of last week. Since then, we’ve been working on the highest-quality, information-packed coverage of the Spur’s most riveting stories. This is our first inter-arm entry! Remember : WE are your eyes to the grand events of the galaxy! Several weeks of silence from sector chiefs of the Romanovich Cloud led to a decision earlier today where major NanoTrasen facilities transferred oversight to Stellar Corporate Conglomerate authorities. NanoTrasen officials have stated that, with the ensuing fallout of the Clandestine Incident proceeding, they are driven to border compromise in many management aspects. The phoron giant has graciously accepted assistance from the Conglomerate whose executives reportedly approached Nathan Trasen with “great plans” to assist NT in the coming times. A deal was inevitably struck, presented to us as follows ; NanoTrasen facilities have transferred sector oversight authority to cooperating members of the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate. Management will remain in the hands of NanoTrasen while protection details, distress routing, executive management, supply, and employee resources will gradually make a shift to Conglomerate responsibility. What does this mean for the average employee? Should you be stationed on a NanoTrasen facility in the outer Cloud, you can deliver direct incident reports to SCC oversight. In addition, your sector relay services will be provided free of charge per your employment here as their relays switch to Conglomerate operations. You are very likely to be contacted for employment opportunities with compensation to migrate to other member corporations of the Conglomerate if you work aboard a NanoTrasen facility! Finally, the League of Chief Directors have openly stated that member corporations will shortly gain access to once-withheld employees as contractors who possess training and utility of utmost quality. Contract sales for these employees may begin within the coming weeks. Recent times have been eventful for the galaxy, and cooperation between Conglomerate members is projected to yield vast results in the coming years. We here at the Oracle look forward to becoming your go-to trusted news source for hard-hitting coverage, and the years of stories we will make together. Date : 2/26/2463
  6. Hey hey people, Kyres here. Myself and Mofo have deemed it worthy to announce a small update detailing ongoing lore happenings that will hopefully get some people excited. Of the goals we intend to pursue in the coming weeks, we intend to start working on goal #1 of NBT (not exactly the primary goal, mind you, but the first listed goal) which, if you do not remember, was to minimize NT-centrism. With the happenings of recent events we’ve very effectively set the stage for some changes in this regard. Most notably, the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate now represents a variety of corporations, rather than simply NanoTrasen having an iron fist over the setting. Also, to ensure minimal work is put forth in the future and as little whiplash is received as possible upon setting shift, here’s said goals. 1. Introduce a brand new replacement outlet to the Mendell City Bugle, previously used for virtually all fluff and major arcs that occurred alongside one another. A second outlet will work alongside this for fluff/secondary articles. This replacement will ICly announce some lore changes in its first post, most notably Incentive at long last to swap corporations as the player desires without breaking character Oversight of the NSS Aurora swapping hands to the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate, at least at a higher level for starters The relay swapping to SCC oversight New contractor goodies incoming, ETA when we feel like it. 2. Fix Zeng-Hu, as in give it players. It presently has little to none, to the shock of nobody, so we’re working on giving it a new foundation to work with without just retconning the whole premise. We hope you’re as excited to work with what’s become of the universe as we are. Enjoy!
  7. The similarities between TCFL will be remedied by me just respriting TCFL too. The sprites are... self explanatory
  8. I forgot entirely about this thread while making this PR, but this could serve as a feedback thread for https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/11204 pretty easily, considering it is literally the exact same thing + a combat suit resprite. Also it holds to some of the feedback here, having done away with the gradient/palette in exchange for a unified palette with highlights. cool
  9. This is a non-factor and shouldn't be considered for a number of reasons. While I won't weigh in on this application just yet (at least, not publicly seeing as I should defer to Mofo first) I will say that we cherish teamwork above all. Development skills are an extreme plus as well. But, we're a niche community who should not be resorting to ideas such as, "Can you pay off a dev to muster the mental willpower to deal with our species." With this said, mechanical requests are fit to be declined by development staff regardless of whatever species it is. It is my personal opinion that, it happens that Dionae have banked very hard in the direction of "hoping mechanics will change their situation" rather than attempting to solve the problem with outright lore development. This has made them a very mechanically oriented species inadvertently, which may or may not be their death sentence seeing as developers really have no reason to develop for a dead/dying feature, especially one as large/complex as Dionae. While this seems hopeless, it is a situation that can't be confronted by just telling developers to develop more, or even taking matters into your own hands (seeing as it can be rightfully denied, still by the same people).
  10. The final addition. +Both xrays overhauled. +Mini UZI overhauled. +Pocket rifle overhauled +Bolt action overhauled +Antique sniper overhauled +Lemat overhauled +Tator revolver overhauled +Old detective revolver overhauled +Ecarbines overhauled +Tommygun overhauled +.45s added to the layout enjoy Edit : also redoes autorevolver
  11. Updated .45 and ecarbine sprite by player request, to make the whole armory consistent.
  12. Most feedback addressed above. Namely: Ion resprited entirely to be sleeker. Shotgun recolored to stand out more color-wise. Trigger guard fucked with on the laser rifle. Outlines were already fixed, but they were added to this layout which was missing in the main post. Also, the thumper was added. White guns exist. I'm not sure how moving to a white palette constitutes cartoon sci fi. We already color-code entire corporations and monopolize their gear based off of singular colors, it is no surprise that gear made by certain corporations (NT, in this case) would carry their own scheme, especially in the hands of their own personnel. Furthermore we literally discussed this at length. My reasoning is simple : white contrasts with security's majorly black color scheme. "Kyres, security isn't black, it's X" Okay, wear full body armor or play Zavodskoi and get back to me. You'll notice the vests+armguards are almost all majorly black, plus the most commonly used corporate uniform. Do I intend to change those, too? Maybe, but I doubt I'll change the scheme much. They're over ten pixels long. They were also lengthened not once, but twice by maintainer request. I am not making them even longer. Bulky is intentional, they're chunky energy pistols. More importantly, the smaller ones suck. A lot. The bigger ones are amazing, contrarily. Don't see how they're cartoony at all when they match the same style as everything else, technically speaking. Arguably your problem worsens with the laser rifle resprite above. Personally I do not mind vertical guns - it exaggerates how bulky or dangerous these weapons are, or are meant to be, and makes them far more imposing. Fixed above. Different size/proportion guns have proportionate triggers now. We are not explicitly corporate dystopia. There's plenty of mixed elements in our setting. The station isn't all horrible and grim (despite its casualty rate). Saying we need to build up a corporate dystopia aesthetic is a humongous no from me.
  13. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/11113 This resprites some guns, pending feedback. More will be resprited gradually to match the style if this even goes through.
  14. If I come up with a proposal I'll piece it together with this thread and its discussion as reference to the issues it intends to solve. With that said, I have some - it'll just take some big thonking and probably more open discussion like this before I'd ever want to take it to a coder or start spriting/mapping it for myself.
  15. Issue : Non-canon antagonists are counterproductive to an environment where canon character progression is the primary (unique) draw to the server. The reality of antagonists : it’s a shitload of code, especially code that is so old that it is like smashing your head with a rock. The issue, expanded : Talking to people for years on this server has led me to believe the simple fact that noncanon is not preferred over canon. This is reasonable, seeing as it’s just about the only draw our server has besides freeform antagonists. Ironically, it is a proven fact all the same that extended utterly slays the server population. However, canon events possess the highest player participation we’ve ever gotten on server ever. This leads me to believe that people are actually reasonable. Shockingly, I think that the majority of people have similar reasons for playing here - and being security, antagonist, service, or event mains have no bearing on the truth of the matter. The truth of the matter being “everyone wants something new to happen.” If this were not the case, we would not see extended axe half the server population even at highpop, and we would not see those same extended players completely avoid secret. Unsurprisingly, a lot of the people who end up playing these extended rounds happen to be players who are just sick of seeing repetition. Some of the ones playing secret tend to not really care about the antagonists to begin with, going so far as to exterminate them or ignore them in the worst cases just to get it over with. I don’t find any of this bad. None of these opinions are necessarily wrong, but they do conflict with one another and harm our overall server population as a result. More importantly, it harms the growing interest and investment people place in the server. Why would you be interested in something that ends up kicking you in the crotch every time the majority does something you disagree with? Antagonists serve an important niche in Aurora. Without them, we would not gather interest from people who expect to see differences in every round, and radical happenings such as death and the station being in general disarray would be rare. Contrary to this, the station’s in utter chaos 60% of the time and practically permanently code blue. For players that stick around, however, the capability for antagonists to keep people dwindles. The third or fourth time you see Cult is probably the last time you’ll see variety in it. Beyond that, it becomes different variants of the same thing rebranded, over and over with very, very sparing exceptions. This can not be fixed by forcing everyone to be antagonists as we already have. This is because it’s a game people play for fun ; if you are forced into a position of power or drafted into being the centerpiece of the round, a lot of those people simply lose interest or get their roles removed. Why I’m posting this : Because it’s worth discussing and discord discussions about it usually trail off into tangents about balance or frags. I also intend to pursue fixing the issue myself beyond just saying "wait for NBT, lol!" like I have forever now. Discuss or die
  16. UNITY ACROSS THE STARS! THE REPUBLIC EXPANDS! In the last several days, multiple major Solarian colonies spread throughout the Galactic East and the greater Outer Ring, have declared total secession from the Solarian Alliance. Amidst the chaos and recuperation from Raymond Ozdemir’s recent incursion, Tau Ceti natives have made the righteous decision of extending the hand of the Republic to those colonies in need. Of six hundred publicized transmissions, nearly five hundred and ten had received daily responses with a huge majority of the former Solarian representatives echoing the same message for unity. As this gesture of good will spreads across the now-released Solarian territories, it is projected the galactic starmap will require the largest change since the end of the Interstellar War, with abandoned Alliance colonies unifying under the Republic’s banner! Various fleets sponsored by the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate, with the aid of the Tau Ceti Foreign Legion, have begun making their way across territory previously dominated by the Alliance under request of Biesellite representatives. Republic military forces and civilian vessels alike are banding together amidst this time of strife to supply and restore order to the chaotic Outer Ring. Recent abandonment of the Outer Ring and Majority of the Middle Ring by Solarian authorities has made its mark as well. The majority of Alliance territories are still left unable to be assisted by even the Republic of Biesel - President Dorn has made a statement regarding the matter, seen below. “Our good Republic has lived through all of this to witness something harrowing. While we remain safe and extend our hand to as many as we can, there are unfortunately portions of Solarian territories which have erupted into fierce fighting. Warlords and rogue elements that even the Alliance does not condone exercise unmonitored authority in these territories, and it is with heavy heart that I say this ; we are unable to proceed safely to offer assistance into what our star-charters are now referring to as the New Human Wildlands. What independent vessels may find themselves heading to this space are urged to steer clear for their own sake.” During this, Elyran military vessels have rerouted for Perispolis taking a newly-established safe route directly through Valley Hale. Claiming to have been short on supply and battle-damaged, they are unable to assist Biesellite efforts until further notice. Biesellite and Elyran borders are expected to clash at the boundary of Valley Hale - either side have expressed no interest in conflict over the matter. Coalition allied vessels remain in the Republic of Biesel, as well as their vast civilian support flotilla. The Alliance Neutral Zone has fallen, with the Coalition of Colonies convening at a short-notice Xanusii summit to quite literally shred the agreement once established between themselves and the collapsed Alliance. The territory of the Coalition has officially spread across the Weeping Stars as a result, and the Scarab Fleets are reportedly spearheading a ceaseless push to acquire and secure the territories surrounding it. Konyang has declared itself unified under the Coalition’s banner, swearing loyalty to the greater star-nation as a result.
  17. Every corporation page now has set color schemes added for artist reference. Factions will receive these updates shortly depending on developer input. Enjoy!
  18. OZDEMIR'S FLAGSHIP DESTROYED! Conflict brought to an end! !!BREAKING!! After attempting to target phoron reserves in the Romanovich Cloud, Grand Admiral Raymond Özdemir’s flagship was intercepted by an act of desperation! A series of astonishing maneuvers on part of the SCC have led to Grand Admiral Raymond Ozdemir’s demise in the depths of Reade’s crushing atmosphere, with Coalition and Elyran forces coaxing the primary vanguard into a confrontation in the atmosphere of the gas giant. A six-hour long conclusion drew the Solarian fleet closer and closer to the gas giant, wherein a recently captured planetary defense battery was reacquired by corporate allies. The battery, named DS-AC46, was the target of several operations which were covertly run by special forces, stealthily infiltrating the platform it resided upon. The 35th at the time anticipated the platform to be entirely derelict, and according to SCC officials, its ability to be used was a “leap of faith” to desperately turn the tide of a vicious, and perhaps losing battle. The planetary defense battery, which had originally sunk to depths where it would be unable to target spaceborne vessels, was used for the first time since its construction in sixty years as it opened fire against Solarian vessels at its depth in atmosphere - in clear view of the naked eye. Ozdemir’s flagship was the primary target - and quickly fell to the bombardment, descending deep into the depths of the gas giant once its engines were shot out in a wild explosion. A dozen other vessels in the vanguard were heavily damaged before the platform was targeted and destroyed, costing the lives of hundreds of corporate affiliates. Crippled and without leadership, the Thirty-Fifth Battlefleet second-in-command, Rear Admiral Verglas, has ordered a total ceasefire and retreat from the system. With the remaining combatants dispatched by SCC officials, Tau Ceti sees peace once more. No official statement regarding the conclusion has been announced yet. More will be covered as soon as we receive more information. NTCC Odin AI “Bubble” has publicly reported a lowered alert level on the NTCC Odin. The resting alert level of the NTCC Odin is BLUE.
  19. OZDEMIR ON THE RETREAT! 35TH FLEET DEFEATED OVER BIESEL! After a several-day battle in orbit of Biesel visible across the planet, Solarian forces have finally been fended off by SCC and NanoTrasen associates who now occupy the gravity well in full force. With the detonation of two extremely large phoron warheads, many Alliance vessels were instantly disabled, turning the tide of the battle in a moment as the allied forces advanced against them. Miranda Trasen had made yet another public appearance amidst chaos in Mendell City, reassuring the public as the situation planetside calms. They are quoted below, “The forces of the Alliance made their greatest mistake as they approached Biesel - it is regrettable that corporate associates must resort to superweapons to defend our property and livelihoods. But, this is the nature of the war in which we wage to save the Republic. I can only report the greatest satisfaction in the conduct and efficiency of the ongoing effort against the rogue fleet.” Fighting is expected to return to the Romanovich Cloud as the spearhead of the rogue fleet turns around, very slowly falling back. Reade remains a stronghold for the incoming ships, which appear to have now entered the Republic in their entirety.
  20. Your feedback is appreciated and, were this two years ago, I'd expect more shouting and arguing in its place. Thanks for the constructive criticism. Three things I have to say in response are, 1. The people fixated on being protagonists in the investigation sector of the arc unfortunately can not be beaten without just prolonging the arc. Which, we did promise we'd do - we intend to involve way more people in the conspiracy end of things by request of multiple players. Hopefully that helps. 2. The ghost spawner issue was remedied in that sol marine events are extremely uncommon. AT this rate I'd argue they might not even occur during the invasion at all, funnily enough. 3. As for people who will stack the events in their favor, reasonable character rules exist so if they say they killed 500 sol muhreens just go the route of 2017 and ahelp them. Even though the events are optionally canon, this does not change the rules.
  21. Lights over Mendell City! Biesel's orbit declared a warzone! Grand Admiral Raymond Özdemir of the Solarian Thirty-Fifth Battlefleet has begun open conflict with SCC officials and paramilitary drawn from corporate rosters. Tau Ceti Foreign Legion vessels remain in skirmish over Biesel with debris projected to hit the planetside shortly and cause hundreds of millions of credits in damages. Non-emergency staff and civilians are advised to bunker down and avoid any and all travel, unless seeking supplies or medical treatment. Travel in and out of the system is currently under strict lockdown with any public routes closing. Private vehicles that attempt to enter the system unlawfully risk being boarded and turned away or, if uncooperative, shot down. The NSS Upsilon, Aurora, and other phoron-dedicated stations are to remain open as Miranda Trasen has cited their efforts as “vital to the … effort in repelling unlawful invaders.” The NTCC Odin has declared a state of emergency and services from all NanoTrasen stations are being coordinated under SCC supervision. Facilities in the Romanovich Cloud have undergone full lockdown and are projected to see repurposing for emergency services shortly. The NTCC Odin’s broadcast net has gone silent after issuing a warning to all passerby vessels. The warning is as follows, “The sector of the NTCC Odin will serve as a safezone for authorized civilian vessels and affiliates. The estimated time to receive emergency aid is dependent on your place in the queue. Please understand that attempts to board the NTCC Odin without necessary authorization will result in retaliation.”
  22. This is a feedback thread for every aspect of the King of the World arc, and the invasion that ends in roughly a week from posting this depending on feedback. So, here we are! The King of the World arc has totaled to the Second Solarian Invasion, where you get to participate in the most ironic case of deja-vu ever - Solarians from a rogue admiral affecting you for a week. We took notes from the most memorable events that have occurred already and decided to make massive changes to the setting, from the starmap, to almost every major wiki page, down to gameplay in preparation for the Next Big Thing through this arc. While the arc comes to a close and things will begin to settle once it's over, we'll start focusing on making a rich, more easy-to-navigate setting that won't pose constant consistency problems and whatnot due to the weird juxtaposition of all the star-nations. The conclusion from all this was to make the week-long invasion happen. However, after seeing the violence from recent arcs, we decided against keeping the events of this invasion 100% canon, opting to leave canon in the hands of the players bar announced events. Among the things we've done in this arc are, 1. Cranked up the phoron scarcity. 2. Made Einstein Engines a viable threat to the players. 3. Made strides toward creating the Stellar Corporate Conglomerate, more details on that soon. 4. Fabricated a decently-sized conspiracy that, admittedly, didn't involve too many people, but let us learn a lot. 5. Involved most every species (at least, in the invasion aspect) for better or worse. 6. blow up mars 7. Began the Sol Collapse, as mentioned in the arc's initial chapter text for around 4 months. And probably more I'm forgetting. We at the loreteam genuinely hope you enjoy the invasion and the coders responsible (who i'd prefer to name after the invasion to keep their DMs unharmed) have worked very hard and fast to get it working optimally. Thanks, and good luck...
  23. Stellar Corporate Conglomerate Formed! Tau Ceti Prepares for War! In response to the advance of the 35th fleet, key members of the press were invited to a lavish event at the NanoTrasen branch in the Zhengfu District in Mendell City. The company's famous executive, Miranda Trasen, made a rare public appearance to reporters at the conference to explain a shocking twist in the corporate scene. Below is a holovideo showing her appearance as it was seen some hours ago. The feed flashes a logo of a blue chainlink, with text in Tradeband translating to “SCC” directly beneath. Atop the chainlink, a solemn upward pointing arrow. The logo flashes away to reveal Miranda Trasen, the woman seeming all too interested in the message, exhibiting a joyful, if not slightly smug, attitude. Miranda smiles, before the feed cuts to black abruptly. The efficacy of the new Conglomerate will be put to the test immediately as the vanguard of the Thirty-Fifth fleet has begun arriving in the Republic and powering up their weapons. Vessels of Biesel and NanoTrasen’s allies have set course to reinforce as the people of the Republic prepare for war. The system has been inundated with bluespace jumps and incoming traffic; the Tau Ceti-Konyang bluespace gate has been fired two hundred times in the last several hours. Communications with the gate have gone silent on the matter, as traffic control attempts to piece together the situation. Equally, the bluespace gate connecting Tau Ceti to Perispolis has fired sixty times in the last several hours. Communications with this gate are active, and sources tell the Bugle that the vessels arriving in the system are either registered as Elyran or Coalition of Colonies military warships.
  24. Statement from Admiral Ozdemir! Rogue Fleet Approaches! Grand Admiral Raymond Ozdemir of the Solarian Thirty-Fifth Fleet has, against orders, altered course for the Republic of Biesel yet again. Representatives from the 35th fleet have returned to Tau Ceti as a vanguard from the primary fleet, which was halfway through its journey to the Sol system before its recent turning towards the Republic. They have relayed written and holographic displays from the Admiral publicly declaring their intention as the fleet approaches the system. The primary statement from Ozdemir through holographic feeds is as follows. “For far too long, the Republic — a land claiming freedom yet marred by corporate greed — they sit on top of their shares as they watch the galaxy crumble around them. There is a lack of contempt for silence and standing by through this, and somehow the Alliance is the enemy. We strived to find a solution, a gambit and paid so dearly as a result. What has Biesel, Tau Ceti, done for sentient peoples everywhere? I can spell it out for you: they destroyed the last bastion of hope we had for solving the phoron crisis—the Clandestine. The Alliance wants Biesel back, yet lacks the nerve, the resolve, to take it back by their own hands. The Coalition lacks the ability to mobilize quickly; the Elyrans have long sat secluded and without experience in the affairs of war; the Republic’s ‘Legion’ is a pitiful excuse of a people’s militia. In the coming days, we move to liberate the people of the so-called Republic.” Fleet movements from the 35th match the threat with the majority of the roughly 430 ships lining up to approach the Republic in a sweeping manner. It is unknown whether assistance will be fielded by the Republic’s allies in time for the incoming siege. NTCC Odin AI “Bubble” has publicly reported a heightened alert level on the NTCC Odin. The resting alert level of the NTCC Odin is RED. Most NanoTrasen officials have stated their staff are “essential” to the livelihood of the Republic, and thus designated a vast majority of employees as emergency staff during the crisis. Non-emergency staff of NanoTrasen and citizens of the Republic are recommended to shelter in place and seek emergency supplies for the likely scenario of extended wartime.
  25. ROGUE FLEETS ATTACK THE MIDDLE COLONIES! Representatives of the Solarian admiralty have announced today that the Middle Colonies are currently being attacked by a fleet under the command of Admiral Salehe Orsi. The 58th has been officially declared rogue after engaging a patrol heading to Silversun, supposedly in an attempt to seize their Phoron reserves. The fleet left its position in Konyang shortly after Prime Minister Frost’s death; Orsi made clear his intentions of assuming control of the Sol system. Countless colonies are under the threat of being looted by the traitorous fleet. Authorities were unable to contact the administration of Konyang, many fear that the planet was also a victim of the 58th’s crime spree. The whereabouts of the 112th are still unknown, and as such navy officials are considering declaring it rogue as well. The 11th Fleet, based in the orbit of Saturn, was dispatched to protect the frontier of the core worlds against a possible attack by the 58th. Other fleets have been recalled from their positions to reinforce the defenses of Sol, including some of the forces sent to Tau Ceti. Remaining forces in the frontier with the Median Region were ordered to protect the worlds of New Hai Phong and Silversun. The Admiralty has strictly forbidden admirals from planning offensives against possible rogue ships and colonies, preferring to adopt a defensive stance during the crisis. Official reports claim that the phoron reserves are enough to allow safe travel within the core regions of the Alliance for the upcoming weeks. All contact with the southern border is effectively lost, the few reports brought by refugees depict a terrible situation: the area bordering the Sparring Sea is dominated by pirates, smugglers, and colonial separatists. Emergency measures are still in effect in the Sol System. Civilian traffic is heavily restricted by military ships. The bluespace gateway remains closed; the navy claims that it could be used as a backdoor to attack Sol. Unrest grows due to the lack of information in regard to the future of the leadership of the Sol Alliance. The Admiralty has yet to show any intention to return government control to the civilian administration. !!BREAKING!! Grand Admiral Raymond Ozdemir of the Solarian Thirty-Fifth Battlefleet has broken course from the Core Worlds and is moving, against orders, towards Tau Ceti. More will be covered once we acquire further information.
