  1. That's not actually a misspelling. It's a reference to 'Allo 'Allo, an aging British sitcom. The policeofficer there is "speaking French", despite his character being English, and that results in an "accent." Anything from "Good moaning," to "good lick," are things I took from that show. They're amazing, as is the show.
  2. There are different attachments... Attachments are standalone files which are considered relevant and added to the end for quick reference, specially if the original file has nonstandard access to it (like a FedNavy medical report).
  3. He-said-she-said. Okay, let's dive in. On principal, stealth cult is something we've seen before, and it is not something I personally enjoy nor support. Regardless of the justification behind it, secluding yourself on the outpost for the majority of the round is rather shit, specially if it ends with a build-up lacking Nar'sie span (will swing around to this point. And Echo, as much as I love your cult play (without much exaggeration, you are one of the best cult players we have, or any creepy-crawly antag players), the fact that we have your fellow cultist echoing, no pun intended, the same complaint as the OP is relatively telling of the shortcomings for this round. Now, how could this specific situation have been difused? Okay, you were teaching someone this round the mechanics of cult, fair enough. But you could have still run comms or backstage work to make sure the rest of the cult were communicating. Further more, once you left your "stasis", you could have presented yourself as a force to be reckoned with. A group of cultists who know all of the words, or majority, have the capacity to create relatively interesting RP, specially if they present themselves as the omnipotent, hide-in-plain-sight force that they can be (unless they go full dumb and order swords + armour). How to encourage this in the future: if admins spot the issue, just kick the hornets nest in some IC manner. In my mind, cultists should be this, "Many people, one voice" type of deal -- communication should be flawless. Mechanical tweakings could also be considered, as outlined by Zip above. Now, regarding Nar'sie, because I know someone will keep raising this issue if I skip over it. I do not have an issue with Nar'sie being summoned as the conclusion of a well played out cult round. I do have an issue with Nar'sie being summoned without the crew even knowing that something is horribly wrong.
  4. Medical intership -- depends. If it's in an educational capacity, then it would be noted under the educational field (probably simply not mentioned, and included as a part of the programme Y educational facility); if it's in an employed or semi-employed status, then one of the service record bits. Residency, as far as my understanding, would usually include employment. Or, if it's apart of the characer's educational history (at which point he's the one more likely to pay for it, or it's covered by state), then it'd be slotted under there. Note about the educational field, that the "Tier" system is only applicable to the citizens of the Eridani Corporate Federation. Other nations may use other designations, systems, build-ups, etcetera.
  5. On the 29th day of this glorious month, two engineers stationed on NSS Aurora, Jace Evans and Hugo Vanleer, assigned themselves the task of creating a quad-singularity containment setup. Following the initial setup, which took over an hour, the two engineers were ready for the boot sequence. Here is the initial setup: The boot sequence started off without a hitch: Then. The starboard Particle Accelerator stalled in operation, the port one kept firing: Following a hastily executed, and failed attempt at restoring the operation of the starboard Particle Accelerator, the field cracked, and the end result can be seen here: Additional notes: The words, "Quad singularity breach!" should never again be uttered by an engineer on NSS Aurora. Ever. This is the public opinion of the event:
  6. A good number of months ago I sunk a few hours into 3-4 pages of A4. The end result was a very fleshed out character record in the style of an employee record to be stored within NT's databanks. Following further development, I have about 5 blank attachments and yeah. I have gathered all of the resources I used into this folder; copy, clone, paste as you see necessary: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BznUI5uDkr6LZjZ1M0dlOWxVNVE&usp=drive_web For examples, I have 4 full/near-completed records to present: RIDEN, DAVID - INDEX #034-12-78C RIDEN, KIMBERLY - INDEX #118-87-01C BELLARD, EREC - INDEX #175-08-91C SONNBERG, JUNE - INDEX #097-35-09C If you have any questions about them, feel free to ask. Otherwise, *shrug*, go nuts.
  7. Hey Bossman, I'll hook you up with Tablespoon and Viking, one's the head lore dev and the other our pseudo HTML/wiki format manager.

I thought I noted this to Sue. Isn't the division referred to as II, not IA?

    Glorious Paper

Or. Or. Okay. Paperwork in reality is not wiped nor destroyed It is stowed in some random cabinet, and kept there -- archived. Now, while I was working, I noticed the massive stacks of copy-paper, A4, they had on standby: the production 'command' had 2 boxes of the stuff on a shelf, upper floor offices had even more. And they keep ordering it. So, here's the idea: paperwork logistics. Make an item, like a bundle of A4 copy-paper that can be used to restore the contents of a bin. As far as I understand, the bin just has a variable defining how many sheets it has left. If you want to get fancier, also make it so that attacking the paper budnle with an empty hand, while it's in your other hands, makes you draw a paper from it. It would basically, in its simplest form, be a transfer of variable amounts. Thoughts?
  10. Okay, following some communication, I do believe I am able to condense these 3.something pages into two simple paragraphs. Now, do correct me if I'm wrong, but I hope I'm not. Let's start from the more simpler, clearer issue. Kingmatt9, Jakob Dregnr, firebombed a member of the group, for which the group attacked him. Eye for an eye IC, yes, fair enough. But, and I cannot confirm this because I do not have access to the logs at this very moment, OOCly an admin should be contact if things like this take place. Right, here's why: Kingmatt was not an antag, and firebombing someone just bcuz is something the team would like to be aware of. Had you done that, you would have been given, in all likelyhood (and even FFrances, the Head Admin confirmed this), permission to retaliate ICly. But what's the point then? Simple: you don't undercut the Admin team's awareness of the situation. Had you done this, and had we been aware, half of this complaint could have been nulled very simply. The second attachment to that is the fact that Jakob Drengr, someone who plays Security usually, so I'm making an assumption, would have had action taken against them OOCly. Aurora has had a history of horrible security players, something the community more often than not has complained about. And something we have attempted to curb (the situation right now is good, but it was worse some months ago). But we cannot curb it if things like this are not communicated to us. We keep hearing people complain, but they aren't reporting anything. Summary of point one: in my mind, something the staff can take issue with is them not alerting a potentially shite security officer, and thus cutting them out of the loop (again, cannot confirm due to a lack of logs at this very moment). Pooooint two, the more difficult one. The questioning of roleplay involving the 'church of rock' and the clique that merged from it. Okay, let's identify and accept one thing: cliques like this form in real life, and they even form in a professional setting. They are shit, should be stomped out with fire and brimstone, but there. They do exist. It is up to the security and command staff to take care of them, and actually make them a productive member of the unit. However, until this clique actually starts violating the rules, sans the incident above, or starts consistently treading on the line, they will be let be, due to the previous note in this paragraph (key word: consistently). Regarding the Church of Rock. Allow me to defer to this: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jediism Yes, it does require a suspension of disbelief to imagine a representative of something like that to actually get hired by NT, but. I'm partially willing to accept that, as long as this doesn't also carry with it idiocities, such as suiciding whenever their garb is removed or some crap like that. Summary: no clue. The two points are distinctly different in the nature of the issue they present, so yeah. An unlucky admin can pick out how they want to act, but what I've writte above is what I've gathered and understood of this beautiful mess. Thank you.

    Glorious Paper

Okay, so basically. It'd allow you to clear papers, erase their contents? I don't know why, but I have some arbitrary fear of someone just erasing a form, without a trace, and that causing issues from there on out. Thoughts?
  12. So. My point below is invalid. Thank you for murking up your points, gentlemen. I'll re-engage at a later date. Or FFrances will. Okay. Here's what I'm gonna suggest, and note that this is purely a suggestion, FFrances has final say in this forum. The argument has lost all value and purpose. Why? Because both sides are pushing their own, subjective viewpoints without acknowledging the objective one, or making attempts towards reaching (or even presenting) a compromise. The effective attitude, from what I've understood, is: here is why I am doing this, deal with it; or here is why I do not like this, stop it. This is not constructive, this is not helpful, this does not move us forwards. Here's what could be done: the issue has been presented and discussed. Leave this as is, but do not forget about it. Keep in the back of your mind, and observe. All parties are now fully aware of the opposing party's viewpoint, so, with that consideration, let's see what happens over the course of the next week or however long with this issue. If anyone feels like the conduct that continues from this point onwards is against the spirit of gameplay on our server, then they are welcomed, and encouraged to post a new complaint. At which point, hopefully this can be turned into more constructive action.
  13. Woups, forgot to reply. Okay, you missed the point with the uniforms I was trying to raise. I don't exactly care what the SOP says on that count. Albeit, let it be known that the SOP written by Bay, as skimpy as it is, does not mention the swapping out of uniforms. As such, you would theoretically be required to wear the redsuit or an equivalent at all times. Now, here's the more important viewpoint, one that a head of staff should recognize: you, specially as a security player, are in a very representative character on station. You are the face of NanoTrasen regulation enforcement. Not only must you match that representative role by wearing a uniform that declares you as a member of it, but an uniform also reinforces a sense of a team, a group within security. Seeing everyone wear whatever they and their grandmother think looks cool will cause, in the worst of case, you to be ridiculed and open to flak. You do not want this. You want to be neat, clean, tidy, and uniform with your team mates.
  14. Okay, you're making this too easy. The argument is invalid. This makes your first point topple over and collapse. Here's why: virologist would be a mechanically dependent job. There exists a dependency on the mechanics to be in depth enough to provide value to the job. For assistant and chaplain, the value does not come from the mechanics involved, but rather, from the roleplay and setting that can stem from it. I explained this point to Sue over TS. Basically, the role would be filled regardless of the paperwork involved. It's an individual unto whom trust is placed, and the Chaplain serves as that one person. Supposedly, NT considers it necessary to have a job on paper for it. Assistant fills the blanket role in departments where interns aren't implemented. Easy as that. Then use the Virologist speciality? Also, since you feel inclined to argue semantics, a Virologist is technically, or can be, a Doctor. So can an engineer with a doctorate. So there. Accessibility, over-complication, effort for realistic merit of idea. All factors you have not listed, all factors on which I base my decision of, "No, I'd rather not."
  15. There's no point in this. Virology is not indepth enough to merit its own job.
  16. I would have viewed it as a case of simple chucklefucking, the mech you would have used to reach the endstate that you did would not have mattered much to me. But, the reason provided is fitting, so no arguments from me.
  17. Okay, I'm not even slightly sure in this. At least one noteable instance involves you picking up an argument over OOC, and then cutting out by muting your OOC when I kept persisting. Okay, fair enough, not much to hold against a player. But for a moderator, it is very rude to simply cut out on a debate/argument with a player. Even a simple note of agreeing to disagree would serve better. Something similar I noted with Vivian, atually.

    Holobadge or metal?
  19. Well. How you imagine a full face medical mask, without using the, "Like a gasmask, but," argument. Any reference you could provide would help.
  20. Out of curiosity. Can you explain this: http://puu.sh/bH5F1/eeb9c470ad.png There is one issue I have here, and it's relatively important enough from the perspective of a leader. I understand this may sound like I'm playing coy, or however that expression goes, but I will elaborate if you miss the beat.
  21. I'm siding on no. And here's why. Vigilante characters are not something, or anything, that I wish to encourage. You can have them, but I would rather not provide "official" support for them, or anything they deal in. And here's why: near all of them are relatively annoying for good security and good command staff. The position is already stressing, and having someone in red spandex running around is something I'd rather not have wear down on the decent players.
  22. Or irritation. Empathy is a relatively useful skill to have on this front: if you overstep certain lines then the "amusing results" will be seen as nothing more than just childish acts that people have to tend to as a matter of course, and not as the spark of comedy that, I'm sure, you seek to provide. So, please do keep others in mind while conducting your business.
  23. As a note, besides the fluff, bringing out concrete mechanical features will help the developers greatly, instead of having them fish through the paragraphs of story to get an idea of the code required.
  24. I'll respond in the morning/tomorrow.

    How do?

Okay, so I was going to write about behavioral notes. But no, FFrances needed to cover that in her post as well.
