They shouldn't be affected. They go where they set their own tagger to go, and if they can't get to that location in a reasonable amount of cycles, it will send them to the mail office.
-
Disposals is shit. This aims to improve it and adds more cargo interaction. Added a mailing room to the main floor. Moved main level cryo to the main level dorms. Adjusted the location of disposals. Unlabeled wrapped packages go straight to the mailing room to be sorted. Unwrapped items that are not tagged go straight to the crusher. Before, it would do multiple circuits around the station because of bad disposal design. Labeled wrapped packages go to their intended destination. This means that any object can be sent to the cargo mailing room as long as it's wrapped.

ERT I think OOCly also act as a "this antag is fucking garbage" button and I couldn't support removing it.
-
I want to avoid making it vampire which is why I actually want to not make changelings rely on the gank and succ mechanics.
-
This will likely be a thing. Aurorastation likes to give antags all their abilities at roundstart however just doing this fix alone won't fix ling. The core issue isn't that they are lacking points, but because the core concept of the gamemode is bad.
-
Ling is a bad gamemode. Last time I checked it's the most disliked gamemode according to the playerbase, and it's one of the more poorly designed gamemodes for HRP. Ling has a lot of potential to be great, but it fails horribly because its core objective is to gank crewmembers. Current Problems with Ling: - They gain power by ganking. - The amount of lings are lacking per round because no one wants to play them. - Ling is too hard to player in an HRP manner. - Ling interaction doesn't exist. Solutions: - Give changelings the ability to morph into any crewmember that they currently see on screen. If they want to morph into someone that's not visible, they will have to steal their DNA. - Remove reliance on succing. Obtaining DNA should just be obtained by actually having a physical copy of their DNA, such as hair strands or blood. - Enforce minimum 4 lings. 1 or 2 lings is just bad and it ends up being extended. - Make Evolution Points based on how many DNA strings they have. - Possibly maybe not really give then a traitor uplink.

Aurora's Next Big Thing -- And Your Ideas For It
BurgerBB replied to Skull132's topic in General Announcements
I remember trying to refractor emotes before into datums. It should be easy for a single person to do. -
Yeah a lot of people are acting like this change is the end of the world. There are some pretty shitty attitudes coming from certain people that seem to be acting like I killed their firstborn son or something. Just a reminder that constructive feedback needs to be constructive. So far I think like 5 posts out of 73 in this thread actually qualify as constructive feedback. Telling me you don't like it isn't constructive feedback. Giving me gameplay tips that I didn't ask for isn't constructive feedback. Giving suggestions on how to improve the feature itself is, and so far that's depressingly lacking in this thread and doesn't help me whatsoever.
-
The question was silly and not worth addressing because regardless of how it's implemented the result is the same. I wanted to make it so that only junkfood could spawn, but you could choose which junkfood you wanted. Turns out that feature was already done for me and I just needed to replace the existing food with junkfood. I shouldn't even be addressing you right now because this contributes nothing to the thread but here I am anyways.
-
I've explained practically every point earlier in the thread and my stance on the issue. i'm not here to repeat points. I'm not here to argue with people. I'm not here to even persuade people. This is the idea presented, and if you like it, you like it. If don't like it, you don't like it. As I repeated multiple times in the thread that just because I don't respond to someone's post, it doesn't mean it's being overlooked. Plenty of considerations are being taken into account that people provided, but I don't have time to type up responses.
-
The suggestions you gave provide little interaction in my experience.
-
We’ve already addressed the contents of this paragraph twice. And I heavily disagree with any statements that say that isn't the case.

No, because there is 0 reason to go to the chef in the first place, I don't understand how this is a difficult concept to grasp. Chef can't fix the interaction problem on their own because no one bothers to go to the kitchen in the first place. It doesn't matter if you have food already out or if food is ordered, people just don't go because junkfood is too convenient with little negative effects. When you have buffs in place that reward players for going to the chef, then people will go to the chef, and interact. Depending on how the chef plays, people can either nab food from the counter or order something specific. The later will likely happen because certain types of foods will grant certain types of buffs. Desert items will increase pain tolerance. Breakfast items will reduce stun times. Dinner items will increase sprint regeneration.
-
If the chef despises people doing grab and go they can do cook by demand like some chefs already do.
-
A rough draft of the buffs is very small bonuses like stamina regen, increased pain tolerance, movement speed buffs, and marginal reductions in stun time.
-
On the flip side of this, why not incentive people to eat from the chef by adding character buffs to chef food? It might not be the most realistic thing ever, but something like having slightly more health for some half hour because you ate a nice hearty meal from the chef instead of munching on bread tubes. Maybe slight boosts to stamina recovery so you can sprint more, or slightly harder to stun? I feel like timed buffs will grab the attention of the robust minded and the casual players all the same while not too harshly penalizing those who just need to chow real quick and jump right back into whatever RP they're tied up in. Buffs will be the next PR. It's longer to make so it's being made last.
-
I think you need to look harder, but I rather not derail the subject and focus on gathering feedback. And just because feedback isn't addressed, doesn't mean I haven't considered it. If I had to address every post here, I would have to write an essay length response.

I don't know if this is canon or whatever but the allowed break time that is usually floated around is 15 minutes per 2 hours.
-
What departments are required to take part in the lunch break? Can it be overridden by a Head of Staff? Shouldn't this have CCIA input since it is technically a policy? No departments can be required to take part in the lunchbreak. If you read the thread that you are posting in now, this is the outlined plan. CIAA input will be needed as it involves a policy addition and clarification on when the lunch break is nullified on a person to person basis.

BYOND Key: BurgerBB Game ID: None Player Byond Key: NortonDK Staff involved: Juani, Aboshehab Reason for complaint: (State your reason for your complaint) Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? I ahelped NortonDK's outburst in OOC but Juani didn't find it was worthy of any action. I talked to Aboshehab about it and he recommended a player complaint when I brought it up. Approximate Date/Time: Various Right so this is quite a mouthful. Surprisingly all this only took me 10 minutes to collect the stuff and write. Just generally every interaction I have with him is just... I don't know how to describe it. I don't know if english isn't his first language or just very young, but generally his behavior needs to improve. I reviewed 1 PR of his and he just started coming to me for help about github stuff. Randomly pinging me when I was busy. https://i.imgur.com/fnGMeRr.png He did this about 3 times so far, usually when I'm not even awake. All because I reviewed 1 PR. https://i.imgur.com/pCW9gvP.png I finally just told him to just stop bothering me and pinging me about github stuff that I'm not here to help him with. https://i.imgur.com/Qu2CN74.png Just ever since I told him off he's just become a toxic individual towards me. Recently it's been pretty bad for some reason. Lot of baiting happens in OOC and on discord and it's just become annoying to deal with. Usually when one topic is being discussed, he'll bring up another topic that's either aggressive or confusing, and can usually be seen with bad intentions. https://i.imgur.com/z6KrgS3.png Today was pretty bad and I think that along warrants a player complaint. While his behavior was dealt with, I think that more needs to be dealt with because this goes beyond attempting to insult people While the imaged behavior was dealt with, it didn't stop. Since ICly there was nothing happening in the round I was talking about cyborg/ai roleplay problems and I guess he decided to comment on a conversation that was going places. https://i.imgur.com/hmlxSRT.png He does this a lot in OOC. I usually ignore him when he spews insults or whatever but I think this has reached the point where it's a problem.
-
I would appreciate it if this thread had less sarcasm, insults, and general hostility. Thank you. Also another PR is being made so that the round time is set to 11:30am if there is a roundstart chef. An announcement will be played at 12:00pm signifying a 15 minute lunchbreak to encourage people to visit the bar and kitchen.

Added a PR that limits the selection of lunchbox food to junkfood: https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/5192
-
Glad to know that someone is out there sharing the work with me. I partially like your dangers of junkfood article, however I still very much like my idea. If there is a chef, then there will be a junkfood recall event of my proposal, if there isn't, there will just be a news article stating the health concerns of it. Also another PR is up that makes it so that Unathi are affected by junkfood penalties. https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/5191

https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/5190 Arrow already beat me to a "not fully stocked" vending machine PR. This PR removes vending machines from central command, removes junkfood, and adds antmen food to their spawning boxes.
