  2. "Rehearsed." Also, update us on how the Octo-Singulo goes.
  3. Oh, Death's-Head. Will thou be making a database f'r those who art parteth of the Nanotrasen?
  4. MASS EFFECT .GIF SPAMSS
  5. This goes into the "Suggestions and Ideas" portion of the forums, not the custom item applications, m8.
  6. A buff against pressure damage meaning they don't take as much damage when exposed to the spess of Spess Station 13.
  7. I agree. The function doesn't have to be taken out completely. The whole reason that it was implemented (although it's never used in this manner) was to be used to bet on games, holodeck matches, things of that nature. We could just switch to like...poker chips? Or something.
  8. Simple, just don't allow them to wear hardsuits. I mean, like (I think) I stated before, they were only recently discovered. Know what that means? Not many manufacturers of hardsuits (Let's just call them Corporation XYZ) would begin making hardsuits for said bug scum. I know, people are going to complain that they won't have much of a chance if the room they're in is depressurized, but we could mitigate this worry simply by giving them a small damage buff against depressurization; Enough that space won't outright kill them in a minute or two, and enough for them to get out of harm's way while still giving some sort of challenge. Lastly, if we are going with the backstory as to why the Arachnid scum is even on the station in the first place being that they were given as 'gifts' to Nanotrasen by their respectable Hives, why would Nanotrasen care if they live or die?
  9. Chief Engineer when the Singulo gets loose.

  11. Also, I'd like to point out that just because you may have experience as an HoS on another server (Baystation, in this example), doesn't make you fit to be one on this server. Two wholly different communities, even though we may have former members here. The security on this server is, well, different to say the least. Also, a last bit. I don't want to nitpick or anything, but I've witnessed personally things like the fact that you weren't able to fill out a search warrant correctly, filling out an arrest warrant instead and handing it to officers. Not only this, but you didn't fill that out properly, completely forgoing listing what charges and, in place of the of the secondary charges field, simply writing that the objective was to "seize all narcotics in the chemistry lab." This isn't what makes a good Head of Security. Also, another point about your backstory. Why, in their infinite wisdom, would Nanotrasen (a private corporation in their own right, mind you) hire a Head of Security from another corporation (in this case, Silver Security Solutions Incorporated) to command security personnel on one of their most lucrative and prized research stations. Also, when the character would have been loyalty implanted, how would that work out? Loyalty to Nanotrasen, but employed by the SSSI? These minute details are very important when considering applications, as these applications are archived and viewed by other players looking to create one of their own.
  12. Title's good, but please start off with a question then we can get this show on the road.
  13. Basic Information Byond Account: IncognitoJesus Character Name(s): Senri Ishikawa - Chief Medical Officer Leo Del Prado - Maintenance Tech Damian Del Prado - Shaft Miner Kimiko Ishikawa - Xenoarchaeologist Gavin Cotte - Head of Personnel Joey Luna - Cargo Tech A.R.C. - Personal Assistant AI Name(s): N/A Skype: [information scrubbed] Age: 16 Timezone: EST (GMT -5) When are you on Aurora?: Lately, during the afternoons. During the weekend, usually I'm on most of the day, or at least on the TS where people can reach me easily. Experience How long have you played SS13?: Just a bit over a year or so now. How long have you played on Aurora: I want to say a little over half of this span? ~8 months, maybe more. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: Most of it, really. There might be little tips and tricks, but I know enough to assist others. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: No. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: I don't think I've been banned from this server. If I have been, please correct me because I know when I first started SS13 I was one of...well, those guys. Y'know, the kind that goes around doing minor grief and all just trying to "have fun." Personality Why do you play SS13?: Hm. That's changed a few times over the past year. At first, it was just for fun. Something to do when I wasn't playing ARMA with my unit/group/clan/whatever. Then, I started realizing that there was more potential beyond *clickclickboom* and that it could be used as a medium for storytelling, but not the one that involves just typing out a story. This was a medium that was real in a way, because it involved other people making up the other half of the story. Why do you play on Aurora?: Let's take a trip back to a desk far, far, away. I was previously on BestRP because well..I was friends with one of the admins on there, and that was about it. After I left that server, I spent time on the old Colonial Marines server for a while, and then I realized I wanted more. I was always relatively unknown in these communities because nobody really cared for your characters, or their quirks and all. Nobody was really interested in the roleplay. What do moderators do?: Moderators are there to A.) Respond to ahelps by other players regarding events on the station B.) Enforce server rules and prevent things like murderboning, ganking, Bad Arpee, Constant and overbearing chucklefuckery, etc. C.) Provide advice for new players to the game and advise new players to the server if they have a question. And most importantly, preventing the round from being ended prematurely by that guy from a griefstation who felt like getting banned on that specific day. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: To be a moderator for the Aurora server is to well, be a staff member of a server that believes deeply in the concept of Heavy-RP and wishes to build upon an already upstanding community of like-minded individuals who want to participate in something that they all love to do: Roleplay. Being a moderator for our server is being someone who can be trusted to actually do his job and help facilitate fun rounds for not only themselves or the people that they're buddy-buddy with, but for everyone. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I would like to be a moderator for the following reasons: A) I've been here for a while. I know most of everyone who comes onto the server, and what to expect from them. B) I already try to do as much for the server as I can manage, but I'd like to try and do even more. C) I'm not easy on people who attempt to ruin the round for others. I'm not going to sit around and toss semantics around or debate the rules. I'm completely willing to give chances and warnings and all, but I'm not going to tolerate griefers, smartaleks, or anything of the sort. D) I honestly love this server, and the community, and just what it represents. I only want the best for it. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I'm devoted to this community. I've invested a lot of time into this, and I only want the best for this community and the players that make up it. I'm not going to toot my own horn, giving the usual spiel of how honest and amazingly great I am, because that's just not the way I am. I'm familiar with the duties of a moderator, I'm in constant communication with them, I know the server rules inside and out, and I'm willing to work with people if they'll work with me. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: Stress - I deal with stress all the time, day in and day out. I have a lot of experience managing it, and I know how to deal with it. Anger - If you've ever taken the time to talk to me, be it on TS or over Skype or anything, you'd find that I'm probably one of the hardest people to get riled up and angry. Insults - Frankly, I've been called every name in the book in real life. I'm not going to get all outraged just because some unknown (or even people I know) call me something over the internet. That's just juvenile, and I would never let myself stray down that path. Anything Else You Want to Add: I love this community, and you'll always find me on the forums, or on TS, or ingame, trying to talk to people and put together ideas or something, suggesting things to people and the like. I'm always game to help anybody out because well, this 'place' is like a second family for me. The reason I've stayed at Aurora is because it makes me feel like I'm not the only odd person out there, and I'm not the only one who expects character development and storytelling from a game that was originally designed to be murderbone central ....INNNN SPAAAAAACE. Honestly, if this application was denied, I wouldn't mind. I wouldn't suddenly decide to up and leave because that's just really childish. I love you guize. Lastly, Vote Jesus 2014.

  15. WARNING. WARNING. JAMES FRANCO GIFS AHEAD. WARNING.
  16. Problem solved. Colored armbands, and well, they'd have to sacrifice the ability to put things in their pockets most likely. Belts could work, but satchels/backpacks (satchel masterrace)? Those could work, too. As for hard/softsuits? Well, due to the fact that they're a newly discovered species, why would manufacturers of hardsuits create select models/variants for a species that is rarely seen (and most likely will be rarely seen ingame)? So, I don't believe the Arachnids really need hardsuits.
  17. Briefcases? Uh, zippo? Hm.
