Thing is, the Sol Alliance aren't the antagonists by default. That's part of what makes it such a great idea, we have so much diversity in our characters that they hail from all corners of the galaxy. What about the veterans of the Sol Alliance, who do they root for? You can see natural conflict coming from this, as people pick their sides as to who they sympathize with. I'll give an example. If say, two veterans are friends, long-time buddies who have been through it all. This war breaks out, and Billy-Bob A supports the Sol Alliance, and thinks it's about time the SA took back its territories and began to move towards showing the presence it once held in the galaxy. Billy-Bob B sympathizes with the colonists, because he has seen what frontier life is and holds true to the idea that they should be able to hold onto their own independence. Now there's a barrier between the two, which will lead to conflict (doesn't have to be a physical engagement) which leads to roleplay for both parties. Not only the aforementioned scenario is something we could see, but also another thing that I think would be extremely beneficial to the entire community. The breaking up of the cliques that have formed. If, as we are supposed to, we hold true to our character's convictions, then the aforementioned scenario could solve that issue on its own.

If I'm correct, I believe that when Sam was originally spriting these, he used inspiration from EMTs in the UK.

I don't exactly understand why he would say three weeks. United States Army Basic Combat Training (BCT) is ten weeks long. Then, you ship off to your AIT (Advanced Individual Training, I believe?) which can last anywhere from four to fifty-two weeks. I looked it up, and AIT for MPs is twenty weeks long. So, you're looking at thirty weeks. I don't really...understand this thread.

When the bounty system was originally created, it was meant to be optional. That means, it wasn't supposed to be the norm. I entrusted the community to be able to use it as an option if the antags (meaning, not just nuke ops) could not come up with an idea for what they wanted to do. I think that people have taken this system and tried to make it into "let's repeatedly go after this person until we get them." Essentially, this has killed the fun for everyone else, because we all know who's going to be hunted once nuke is voted in. Also: No. This isn't helping the issue at all. As of right now, for a short period of time, I'm going to suspend bounties on that board.

While I do agree with you, I'm inclined to point out that they're not combat fatigues. looks like a service uuniform I would like to point out that one of Sgtsammac's characters, Steven, has a navy working uniform. I suppose it's a little different, because it's an engineer thing? Shrug. Just stating for future reference. Also, I dug through the forums (both new and old), and I couldn't find any instance of an application for either of those characters.

I can't support this application, to be honest. In my experience, the applicant has had numerous incidents of going SSD for long periods of time, which isn't fair to people who want to actually play those roles (especially quartermaster, which the applicant plays often). It's also not something that staff should be doing, or providing as an example to our player base. Also, I need to point out that you have amassed an almanac of notes regarding your actions in game. Personally, I don't feel as though you have the maturity level yet to handle a staff position. Perhaps next time around? I'm sure progress is being made to rectify this behavior, but I don't feel as though enough of that progress has been made just yet. Of course, this is my own opinion and does not reflect the opinion of other staff members.

And, I'll be honest, I have missed attack logs before because somebody (I don't actually remember who) has the same OOC color as them. I'm not saying have a set color for everyone, that's just micromanagement for the lulz. I'm saying that we should put some light restriction on what colors can be chosen.

I agree with this, honestly. It may just be my eye condition, but seeing floods of different colors overwhelms my senses to the point where I just focus on only one of them. I understand the need for individuality, but function over form, as OP stated.

There's a Gordan Freeman in all of us. /me nids. But in reality, if you're fighting with a crowbar in the first place, you probably definitely deserve my telebaton shoved halfway down your throat. Either way, I don't think this would change much, seeing as floor tiles are one of the easiest things you can make on purpose. I do like the idea of scarring floor tiles if you miss. Wouldn't it just be a change of icon state? I don't know, I don't understand code, I just make maps.
