"You can wear the standard vest available in your security locker, but not the armor found in the armory. Failing to follow standard procedure during Code Green may end up with you violating Corporate Regulations." This is the important part. While it is satisfactory, have you considered swapping out "can wear" to "should wear?" As in, you 'should' wear your vest, for its protection? This encourages its use, but is not a hard 'must'.

Sword arms for changelings are a joke. You can be handcuffed despite your arms being enormous swords, and people can literally push them back into you by taking them 'out of your hands'. This seems to me like an oversight? I'm not angry, just bewildered. Could we maybe make sword arms more expensive, but capable of cuff immunity? Similar to having only one arm or none? You can be completely shut down by silly stuff like this that makes no sense.

Simple suggestion. Activate a pen to pop the tip out, with a satisfying click-click. You'll be unable to write until you do so, and this can prevent you from accidentally writing in hindsight(not that that's really a common issue).

I see where you're coming from, but even if it weren't every extended round? Could it really hurt? Sure, as the captain, you could say "today we're going to blabla" and do a little thing with everyone. You don't need code to do that. Does it have to be a thing as big as a party? Could it just be as mildly insignificant as a carp attack? It could be random, surprise shipments. Like if a big crate got sent to the station that was wrapped up in pretty paper with a bow on it. An animal could be inside(kittens, Ian), or something else fun/random. It doesn't have to be a gathering necessarily, just more stuff that isn't necessarily trying to kill you or be an annoying chore. Wacky things, you know?

I'm tired of blobs, carp, spiders, and other annoyances. Why can't we have little parties and quick events for workers to mingle in? I can't think of an exact example, but it would be great to encourage roleplay between characters even more than there is now. National Popcorn/Random Food day. Puzzle day. Something random that is fun and makes situations. Someone help me out here. I think you get the idea.

At least the wiki should be updated to clearly reflect the sentiment that you can or can't, and that it isn't meta/unreasonable to do so outside of blue/AT ALL TIMES. But then again, the wiki needs updated for a lot of things. Imagine a security officer SPRINTING DOWN THE HALL to answer the "HELP SEC MAINT" call. He's digging in his satchel as he goes, yanking out his vest that was between his taser and helmet. He's throwing on the vest, strapping it down and tightening it like a madman as he opens the maintenance airlock.
-
So, you're saying that a security officer preparing for 'trouble' by wearing his security vest is meta? Meta is against the rules. But then it isn't. The suggestion is for it to be explicitly pointed out somewhere. An answer beyond OOC, but IC as well. There is nothing in the corporate policy encouraging or discouraging wearing the vest always that is sworn by OOCly and is the unanimous answer. On the sec' officer page.
-
What is NT's opinion on the intended purpose of security vests? Are security officers expected to wear them at all times, or not? There's nothing underlining the answer to these questions in-game. You might ask, 'why's this a problem?' It's a problem because the wiki and admins are telling me two different things. The wiki says that security officers should reserve vests for code blue, and the HEAD ADMIN is saying you should wear them all the time, or you are a liability to the company and should be fired. So which is it? And whichever it is, it should be explicitly enforced and stated in the corporate policies. I don't want other players thinking I'm a metagamer because I'm wearing my vest all the time(despite the fact I don't wear sunglasses nonstop, which is the meta for using flashes). Underline the solution to this problem in the rules, please. IC or OOC.

Sneezing on the floor is something that spreads sickness, and it's a valid part of gameplay. However, if you've made it to medical...there could be some tissue boxes and tissues there. You could sneeze into a tissue two or three times before it does you no good, and you need another. A limited, but effective way of keeping mucus from spreading sickness. In real life, it's what we seek out. Something to use while you wait for a cure, shot, or medicine. Also(optionally) add an option to feed someone a used tissue to intentionally give them what you've caught.

Vomit Into Disposals/Trash Cans???/Toilets
Fortport replied to Fortport's topic in Completed Projects
No, I'm just peeved that unhealthy people run around in the hallways, vomiting as they go. -
When you're about to vomit, you get one line of text. Maybe two, if I recall correctly. "You feel like you're about to throw up," followed by you throwing up moments later. If there were was another sentence a matter of three or four seconds after this, you could know exactly when you're going to hurl. Anyway, you're going to throw up on the floor and there's nothing you can do about it. Realistically, people don't just ignore the fact that they're very nauseous/about to vomit and just throw up on the floor. In real life, they might run to a trash can or a toilet if they can. This prevents a mess on the floor if they're healthy enough to avoid making one. There are disposal units across the station and toilets, so you could run to any of those and interact with it, prompting the game to let you throw up into them.

Medical was the first place I had in mind of getting this.

All it takes is one ahelp if it becomes a problem. Trust me.

Make it look like they taped the living hell out of it, instead of just the optical part. Also, have it to where you can take the tape off and do forensics to find out who wrapped it around the camera.

Maybe there is another way to do this, that isn't as automatic and more of an 'if you remember to' kind of thing. What if instead of having automatic logs generated in our notes, we had a bookmarking system that allows us to scroll to a specific point in our chat IF we go to our verbs and click 'add chat log bookmark'?
-
I second this, even if this suggestion will likely be shot down. Dislocated legs shouldn't completely disable you 100%, but it would be better for balance if you had to wait a few seconds after being handicapped in order to move.
-
That's actually a good idea! I'll add it to the suggestion, crediting you.

Jackboot had a similar sentiment, which I've responded to. The meta is important, and I don't want it to change too much. There could be less detail, such as the times in your log being removed and just being listed in sequence. How much detail you have could depend on how many logs you get in succession, or could pander off over time as the round progresses? If you can just scroll up to remember something, as long as that takes, this just makes it easier to get that information.

I didn't even know they had such brute force. Wouldn't really care if it was nerfed, as I've always beaten my enemies some other way when I needed to.
-
Okay, okay. You might be right. But it could just be more likely to get. And even if it was 100% possible, people compete for all the other jobs already. If it's randomized and completely possible every round, you at least get another shot. Why not have two merchants, or give them a bodyguard if it's such a sought-after role? Two merchants, give the second guy who spawns a wad of cash that's half as much as the first one. A business partner? I don't know, this might not be the right approach. Could share the 5000 credits amongst themselves or get an even 2500 split if they're both there at round start. Bodyguard lets you participate in roleplay with the merchant, and they're the one who gets the pistol but are sworn loyal to the merchant. They get the pistol instead.
-
I don't think it changes nothing! This gives more of an advantage to whoever attacked first if the other side dropped their guard enough to holster their rifles/shotguns/whatever's on their back. But that only helps in those specific situations, as this tweak only affects those and you wouldn't normally be bothered by it anywhere else.

While I understand this completely, I feel there are times when your character should recall what's happened. Not every fight is incomprehensible. And if not for roleplay purposes, it 'could™' help you report someone that you saw griefing earlier in the round but cannot remember the name of. If the griefer was attacking one person it could help! If the griefer was attacking multiple people, everyone will know who the griefer is without the help of this verb because they hurt more than one person. Maybe empty the combat log for a consistent amount of time when you die and get cloned, to balance my suggestion. This way, you could misremember who did what. What about large-scale combat? More people means vague memories. You forget who attacked first in these scenarios, at least when relying solely on the verb. 'John Doe, Joe Bloe, and at least one other person were fighting with you at around 1:00 station time. You remember that someone there wore a janitor's jumpsuit.'(notice how I didn't clarify exactly who hit first or how and just having a hint on the fourth individual aside from yourself and the others) 'Nick Bash and Drake Harlow were fighting with you at around 1:00 station time. There were a lot of other people attacking each other there.' (how I originally thought this would work) 'Since you've awoken, you completely forgot the conflict between yourself and John Doe over the past thirty minutes.' (or more secret and general) Since you've awoken, you forgot all conflict within the last thirty minutes.'(I don't think this is too bad, considering the vampire powers basically telling you something similar and are more specific for a good reason)

Sometimes I struggle to recall exactly what's happened in a fight or other situation that involved me being hit or shot. Was it Joe Bloe or John Doe that hit me with the hammer? Nonetheless, it could be helpful for recalling past events sort of like the Notes verb, for talking with admins about combat you were involved in, or for telling security details. After a couple of rounds, maybe more, it becomes a big ordeal to scroll up through everything. And the find verb is helpful, but you might not really remember who or what. The way the verb could work is that it scans your own chat/combat log(the one you can scroll through) and gathers only combat logs you've experienced. Or, it could just simply do this and add it to your notes on a round-by-round basis. Whenever the first combat log is detected, whether ranged or melee, you are notified that it was added to your notes. If you're hit or shot again, you will not be notified. This doesn't mean your character knows PRECISELY when or where, but they know who. You can roleplay not knowing exactly when, or in an around-about way. "I was shot by John Doe with an energy pistol at 00:33 this shift." "I saw Joe Bloe being beat/shot by John Doe in the bar, at 0:45 this shift."
