Literally just this. Though it might be entertaining to have one of each, maybe two lockers have e-pistols and two lockers have .45's. My main issue is currently an EMP will do the following all at once: disable energy weapons, disable comms, disable any cybernetics, disable IPCs and Borgs, blow lights, disable doors, and trigger shutters. An EMP is currently the only ranged weapon easily available to most antags and security that can instantly disable or kill multiple targets at once. The only real counter to an EMP is ballistics on an organic and now we're removing the only lethal ballistic officers have.

This isn't just a statement, we need a response from you here. To be frank, we've seen multiple cases of aggression that don't exactly line up with this answer. Ok hi, I admit I CAN get salty, but it's usually short lived and I never hold grudges. I don't ever personally insult people over that, don't get pissed about being insulted, and always try to be at least somewhat positive about the situation. I am a chill guy, at heart, even if I sometimes don't seem it.

Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account:IAmCrystalClear Character Name(s): Annie Rose/Annabelle, Baron, BUD, B33P, Luna Lovecraft, Melvin Harris, Phoebe Rook, Sam Holmes AI Name(s): BUD 2.0, Flower Discord username + tag: IAmCrystalClear#9506 Age: 18 Timezone: GMT When are you on Aurora?: More like when am I not on aurora lmao. (Basically whenever I get free time. I work twice a week and have no other commitments) Experience How long have you played SS13?: Maybe just over six months now? How long have you played on Aurora: Aurora was my first and only server. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: I know a bit, but only what I've learnt through playing. I've never dived the code or anything though. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: No Have you read through the criteria thread; https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4198 - and believe that you mark off all the criteria?: Yes Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: I got banned once for like one or two days because I, as malf AI, detonated an APC too close to the engine, misjudging the size of the explosion, and accidentally blew it up. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I play SS13 because my friends introduced me to it and then I got hooked. Always been a sucker for roleplaying with friends. Why do you play on Aurora?: As stated above. Aurora was my first, and only. What do moderators do?: Moderators, in games, can be considered a first line of defence against . Capable of slapping out warnings and punishments, they're like the security officers of a server. They make sure people adhere to the rules. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Means moderating the server m8. Nah it means helping out in a community I'm in love with and being one of the funky-coloured lads. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I've been a moderator in loads of stuff before, and I just love doing it. I love the server and want to help out. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: As previously stated, I love it and have a lot of experience of moderating. I have been moderating groups, clubs, games, and servers for five or six years. I'm impartial as fuck and have been used as a "final say" admin in a lot of groups that nearly went to shit. I'm clear-headed (iamcrystalclear, after all) and can empathise with ease. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: I'm arguably one of the chillest guys you can meet. I'm rarely salty, lest I've just finished a really bad LoL game. Anything Else You Want to Add: Originally this said "Awoo?" and now I want it to say that I accidentally pressed the wrong button and had to rewrite this entire thing.

"Hey, let's get rid of this gimmick and replace it this, newer gimmick!" From what I can tell, we're being taken from being forced into one thing to being forced into another.

-1 Concept is cool but there are already three ways to borgify humans (that I know of) , there is a machine able to do this for malf AND actually there are already nanites that borg humans from the inside out. Medical borgs and science borgs can already flash-spam stun someone and operate on them to borgify anyways, so. This also seems a little broken mechanics-wise.

Capesh's Peek at Stationbound RP Suggestions
IAmCrystalClear replied to Capesh's topic in Completed Projects
+1, please give us a way to not be abandoned in a corner for literally an entire round (which I've experienced before). -
There it is. This was not the intent of the suggestion. You need to replace the trenchcoat with an item of similar armor value or you are nerfing detective as a punishment for their fashion choices. i don't care if you make the detective's clothes mundane or give them armor values of a deathsquad trooper. What i care about is a negative impact on the gameplay caused by pushing a counter-productive gimmick using standard gear items. Whether the detectives should for some reason have armored t-shirts and jeans or not is not the topic of the suggestion. Moreover as already stated the vest is not being removed. If you want protection - wear it, noone prohibits you from doing so cough cough Also, I play as a airquotes detective main, and my character may name her revolver, wear her trench coat fedora combo, smoke and drink, but yet she isn't a gritty noir detective (that I can really tell, as her player), she's a 25 year old girl who acts like she's 16 when not working and has her smoking habits stemming out of work stress. To me, removing the trench coat and fedora will just mean I either have to pick it up from the loadout screen and lose my character's non-work clothes, or losing her sense of style that she, frankly, is iconic for. I'd much rather go around with the armoured trench coat I've always worn than sacrifice my RP potential to always have my character wear it. I'm going to say sure, remove the armour values and give a few more options, but don't get rid of something that people actively use, especially if all you're going to do is hand out more trench coats for everyone to use; we have more than enough sec mains and assistant mains going around in trench coats and fedoras.

Player Complaint - Eleanor Shen & HRU-06
IAmCrystalClear replied to Snakebittenn's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I'm pretty sure I saw you in the brig before this point. It is my personal belief that security officers should be easily identifiable (as it is important to know who you can trust in a situation), and I try to enforce this in-round. Your character wore a bright red headband and a leather jacket, meaning only the legs of your uniform was visible. You stole the gloves in front of both the warden and an officer, ran off with them in your hands, and came out clean when searched. Clearly something was up, so I followed you, found you stashing something into your bag (i heard the noise) whilst next to a disposals bin. I just want to point out that it wasn't me that said that a criminal would do that, another officer did. You also grappled me in the hallway after being shown a warrent for battery, and your accomplice attempted to assault me with a fork, which in my mind bumped your charges up. Whilst in custody you constantly threw out insults to A.) my character's race, B.) the HoS in general, which again, in my mind, bumped your charges up. I refute this with simply mentioning (which, because I just close the game at the time of writing this, I cannot quote) the fact that you challenged me to a second fight. I was simply advising you against it. It was code blue. I was allowed my helmet on, I had just simply neglected to do so until this point. This was a misunderstanding, for which I apologise for. The Detective offered Tabi a drink, and then you walked up to it, and the detective said "that is not for you". Next thing I saw was the detective's lunch box go missing from the tile next to you, and I assumed you'd taken it. I'd just tabbed in at this time and didn't get the full story, and acted on what knowledge I had. Personally I feel like the whole gimmick was a bit awkward. It was a good idea, but poorly executed, neither of our faults. I hope this clears up the misunderstanding, and let me know if there are any more points I need to refute. EDIT: fixed a typo ("will" to "was") -
Reporting Personnel: B33P Rank of Reporting Personnel: Warden Game ID: bUk-dr5U Personnel Involved: - Tazhir Kra'xis, Head of Security, Offender - Praetorian MkII, Security Officer, Witness Time of Incident: Throughout shift Real time: approx 11PM GMT 12/05/2018 - approx 1:30AM GMT, 13/05/2018 Location of Incident: NSS Aurora II Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property []Neglect of Duty [X]Harassment []Assault [X]Misconduct []Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: Unit noted something odd about the offender when the unit was joined in the armoury whilst it inventoried, checked, and labelled the contents of the armoury by the offender who just watched. When asked if everything was okay, the offender began to scrutinise the daily routine of the unit, questioning it's actions. Later, the unit was briefing the security team about a new system for officers, using the emergency radios as a quick system to call the unit to dispatch backup. This was met with more scrutiny with little support, with all points being refuted. Furthermore, the unit noted the offender to make the comment "Ugh, more robots" when joined by the security officer, Praetorian MkII, over comms. Lastly, after a quiet shift, the unit noted another officer, who this unit does not want to get involved, called to a meeting with the offender. The officer forgot to turn off their pager, and the unit overheard some of the conversation. The unit turned off the intercomm, hearing the officer offered the unit's role by the offender. The unit was promptly demoted to "anywhere other than security" and replaced. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: Y - Valorallen Vitellia, Head of Personnel Actions taken: After submitting a complaint, the unit was informed the HoP would look into it. Additional Notes:

[Denied] AIMMO´s IPC Application
IAmCrystalClear replied to A.I.M.M.O.'s topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
AIMMO, you've bugged me about this for so long that I finally came over and had a look. That being said, I really second Eva's points. I particularly have to agree with the background points as it feels like what you're saying goes around in circles (an easy trap to fall into, I know) and doesn't really describe a "backstory". What you've done is describe your character's personality, where a backstory is defined as "a history or background created for a fictional character in a film or television programme.". When writing it you shouldn't focus on "what" your character is but rather "why". For example, my character, Annabelle, is a shy, quiet girl but her militaristic upbringing and hard past has made her quite loud and assertive. I hope this helps, and I'll definitely support this when it's tweaked. (Overall, -1 for now) -
BYOND Key: IAmCrystalClear Character name: BARON Item name: BARON's Dice Why is your character carrying said item to work? BARON is an ex-casino IPC, working as a both a bartender and a dealer. It was coded specifically for this purpose, and has held onto it's special dice set after leaving it's last work to join NT as a bartender. BARON is all about the money, aiming to always come out on top. Item function(s): A set of weighted dice, with a higher chance to land on a certain number. Item description: Because of the way this item would work, it would have an identical description to regular dice. Item appearance: I'd not want this to be any cosmetically different to the regular item it's based on. How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP? BARON would use this as a way to interact with crew by gambling and drinking, causing arguments and accusations and overall gaining BARON more money in the process. Additional comments: I need feedback, yo.

BYOND Key: IAmCrystalClear Character Names: Annie Rose, BUD, Flower Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): N/A Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Affirmative Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Quite frankly, I find "detached" characters easiest to play. To me, this means I enjoy playing my station-bound, BUD, as he tries to befriend those on the station between his synthetic understanding of organic culture and whilst still attempting to follow his laws to the best of his ability. Since joining the server back in December, I have always wanted to be an IPC and recently took to the station-bound role to teach myself the "synth" play-style. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: IPCs are a form of AI, meaning they often have to-the-point mentalities and a flawed understanding of many emotions. However, IPCs are extremely varied, often built to perfectly fill their role. This leads to great variance between them. In short, they could be a detached security robot, designed only to patrol and execute the law, or a almost near-perfect mimic of a human psychologist, counselling those in need. Another thing to note with playing an IPC is their numerous mechanical (pun intended) differences. For example, compared to most races requiring the typical elements to survive (oxygen, food, pressure, etc) IPC characters, dependant on type (Shell, G2, Baseline, etc), do not necessarily need these. Character Name: BUD(DY) Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Currently, BUDDY is an android station-bound to laws. He is most commonly found mining, performing science, or assisting security. He was created approximately two years ago, before being redeployed to Aurora as his primary station. BUD is perhaps most notable for his large, bulky appearance, his 8-bit smiling face and his signature "Greetings, I am BUD, your new best friend!". BUD was initially created as a morale provider and assistance unit to stations in need, and was pre-programmed to attempt to befriend as many people as possible. On Aurora, BUD typically starts a shift by mining, attempting to assist the science crew and raise their morale. Shortly after moving to Aurora Station, BUD began to take notice of other synthetic life, finding a desire within himself to become an IPC and experience freedom. He then met David Hawthorne, who agreed that once approved by NT, would perform the "upgrade" from the station-bound body that he currently has to that of an IPC. What do you like about this character? Like my more well-known character, Annie, BUD comes naturally to me. His flawed view of the station's inhabitants mixed with the desire to befriend all those he can makes for an interesting role-play every time, and I am hoping the creation of an IPC version of his character will lead to more great roleplay in the future. How would you rate your role-playing ability? This is a hard question, honestly; I've been role-playing for as long as I can remember, and have learnt a lot since I started. However I am still trying to learn everything about SS13 and sometimes I struggle to keep up with the pace of the game. I'd like to imagine I'm above average, but I wouldn't prize myself as one of the best and constantly look to improve. Notes: Please leave feedback. I am here to learn! EDIT: Updated "Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human" to mention a few mechanic-based things. EDIT 2: Updated backstory, hopefully this is better!
