+1. I trust Furrycactus completely with a Unathi whitelist, and know from PMs how much thought hes put into his application. Looking through, I dont believe I saw any lore contradictions, which isnt surprising considering how careful he is about that. All his characters are played well, and I have complete faith he'd play a Unathi well.

So, I was one of the mercs called out, and I decapped two people. One was on accident. An engineer charged me, with a spear, and through RNG, managed to knock me down. So, I got up, as fast as I could, grabbed my energy axe, and swung at him twice. I forgot I was aiming for the head. So I killed him. Fabe, sure. I probably shouldnt have killed him. ICly, it would have made sense. He angered both me and another Merc, and actually did some damage to me. OOCly, I get that what I did might anger his player. Ada also told me that I didnt need to do that. Shit happens, I made a single mistake that round. Regarding stealing Medical stuff, we werent stealing that for our valuables, we were stealing that for ourselves. We set up a little field base. We also specifically left one of the ORs untouched.

Talon Hatfield's Embroidered Coat
FreshRefreshments replied to DronzTheWolf's topic in Completed Items
It doesnt feel like something a proud Solian or Martian wouldnt wear, and it can lead to first impressions, especially with those who are far more against Sol or Mars. I also just like Talon as a character, so I wouldnt mind seeing this added. -

I like it. -
Although not caring for Ourea's business is fair enough, did he have the same apathy towards the ground shaking first contact with xenos from outer space? Ourea was only a catalyst to spark war against alien (and Izweski) interference in Sinta business, after all. I think this is the only part that was actually asking for a response? Anyways, in his eyes, he wasn't as interested in Xeno relations. As a smaller village, out of the way, he did not feel it impacted him as heavily. Although the rocket failure was a tragedy, he felt that that was their own sowing, and what came of it, was simply the consequences of desiring this. Either way, he felt his way of life wasn't as threatened as larger cities would be. It led to a lot, but at first, he was largely apathetic to it, at most merely interested in how the other cultures were different.

BYOND Key: FreshRefreshments Character Names: Erin MacGregor, Mer'tala Kaemah, Cletus Holloway, and Zaakir'Manov Al-Merja are the main four. I also played Jerome Keyes and Bonnabelle Spakes before getting rid of them. Sydney Markhill and Shanzai Mazzar are basically never used, but I did play them once or twice. Ripribs is noteable in that hes a recurring Raider I very much enjoy playing. Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Orange-Brown ("sand-colored"). Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes I have. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: From the very outset, I've always liked reptilian aliens, and I enjoy playing aliens in general. But when I look into the lore of a species, I often get ideas of what I would make if I could make that species. I especially became interested after thinking about making a chaplain character I actually cared about, and looking into Unathi religion, I found the heretical Final Prophet of the Purifying Flames, Juzida Si'akh. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Mechanically, they have the fastest sprint combined with the lowest duration. As reptiles, they are much weaker to cold, yet a bit more resistant to heat. They have claws, which inflict their attacks with extra bleeding. They cannot wear gloves or boots not designed with their claws in mind. Socially, it varies a bit. Unathi from Moghes are very traditional, with seeing women as housekeepers, and men as leaders. Oureaen Unathi are more liberal, yet still have the basics set in their minds. Unathi from Dominia are more traditional, yet of course, also lean towards Dominian policies far more. All Unathi tend to believe in a code of honor, which can mean a lot if it is broken. Character Name: Az'eeki Soraka Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Az'eeki Soraka was born to a priest in 2415, being raised up to believe in traditional Sk'ahk beliefs. He was raised in a smaller village, in what would one day become the Wasteland. Az'eeki had a fairly regular childhood, and as he transfered into adulthood, was shaping up to follow in his fathers footsteps, when, at 18, the Contact War started. Although Az'eeki never showed interest in Ourea or its colonization, he thought these were matters that were not in such dire need of fighting. Az'eeki was 24, and was eating a meal alongside his family when the bombs fell closest to him. Az'eeki ran for cover, and stayed put for over 12 hours out of fear. His mother and father sustained injuries from the nearby blast, and would later succumb to infection as the land neaby devolved around them. Az'eeki had little food and water, and found himself caught off guard by both what he should do, and why Sk'ahk allowed this to happen. This confusion was drove further as bandits injured him, resulting in the loss of an arm, and sole what little food and water he had at the time. He had always thought himself faithful to Sk'akh, but was finding that harder. So, what was he to do now, that he had wavering faith, and a situation he knew he was likely going to die from. Both of these were remedied when he met Juzida Si'akh. Given food and water as he was deemed more needful at the time, Az'eeki found himself captivated by the charismatic preacher who offered kindness and listened to the next sermon. The passion and power Si'akh spoke with moved Az'eeki, and his words made everything clear. They were damned now. Az'eeki had missed Judgement Day. But he could redeem himself. He followed Si'akh, listening closely, and finding himself truly believing the Messiah. He witnessed assassination after assassination fail, and felt that the claims of Si'akh being immortal were true. Although a tough choice for him, Az'eeki found the prospect of travelling off Moghes interesting, and a fantastic way to get Si'akh and his teachings out there. Now, Az'eeki has sought out to come to Biesel, a more liberal land, perhaps one where the Mazariites won't threaten him. A land where he can spread the word of Si'akh freely. His searching has landed him a job as a Chaplian for the NSS Aurora, something he hopes he can use to spread his word to other Sinta. What do you like about this character? I became really interested in reading about the Si'akh religion, and its probably the first time I actually trust myself to play a religious character, but aside from that, he'll be quieter, which is also a change for me. Quieter, calmer, gentler overall, yet still willing to give a powerful sermon. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Personally, id think its a 8/10, and ive been told I'm a little better than that, a few times? I know im not perfect, but from what ive been told, I am pretty good. Notes: Az'eeki would be 45, at the time of starting work on the Aurora, working as a Chaplain, or Shaman, if Shaman is the correct term? Edits: Edited to make him older (personal decision) , and explain a tiny bit more.

Add Insulated/Electrical Gloves to the Xenowear Loadout.

+1. At the very least, a locker with gloves in them? It wouldnt be hard to implement, I assume, and IC it would be showing that NT does indeed recognize that Xenos work in their Engineering department. -
I'm not quite sure what you mean by it taking time to get into the lore, but I have no major complaints about the answer. I meant actually sitting down and reading the entirety of the lore page, rather than getting bits and bops from certain areas like I normally do. So, there're a few issues with this paragraph here, in my opinion. For starters, why did she think Long-Name Hadii being assassinated could be helpful? What made her support the ALA? It seems odd that she would admire NT as well, given her support for the ALA. I feel like her backstory was made to skirt around the major Tajaran plot-point. The war starts, then she's gone. She didn't endure any of the stuff that make Taj unique, y'know? Sorry, that confusion was on me. I meant she found the assassination of NT helpful because the effect Hadii's brother coming into power had. She considered herself lucky to have missed the First Revolution, and she considered NT's involvement the biggest reason. She also DIDNT support the ALA, but rather disliked them for bringing back more fighting. And, fair enough. The writing actually leaves a bit of confusion on times and ages, but she was 15 when the fighting began, 17 when she left. Ill have her leave a bit later so she actually endures more fighting. In terms of the selflessness, how far is she gonna take that? Just wanna make sure she's not gonna charge an armed tatortot to let her friends escape, heh. She wouldnt charge face first into combat against 5 people with guns if it meant saving a couple people. She would stay back on station and try to make sure everyone got to Evac, if possible. Its her goal that ALL of them make it out; Not just her friends, but her too.

Hey, so, I play Bonnabelle. I can sort of explain the situation that went down there. So, Bonnabelle might have had a bit too much Rewriter, which causes jittering, and was the cause of a heart attack. Since. . .I was a bit known to be difficult to deal with, to make things easier, he tied me to a chair. For reasons I have no idea in regards to, I was able to knock him down with a single pulled punch. So, he got an advantage. He did take me down to Medical, as soon as he could get me to a chair so I would stop messing with him, and when there was no doctor to help with the heart damage and on the way back things got. . .much worse in the hallway, he made sure that neither of us were harmed any further. The lack of IC converse is also mostly my fault. It was Deadhour, and we are friends, so he was a bit more lax than he normally would be, I guess. I can vouch that that wouldnt happen with anyone else, and stuff like this wont happen anymore. An isolated event, that was again, 95% my fault.

BYOND Key: FreshRefreshments Character Names: Erin MacGregor, Jerome Keyes, Bonnabelle Spakes, Cletus Holloway, Sydney Markhill Species you are applying to play: Tajaran, Zhan-Khazan to be exact What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Blue-Grey Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes I have. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Because Tajaran are interesting! They have a culture that is heavily impacted by revolutions and nobility, and they are separated into various ethnicities that are built for different things. However, after further delving into their lore, I got into the idea of creating a character working with it. The mroe in depth I get into a races lore, the more I want to put a character into action. Although it takes time to fully get into Tajaran lore and figure out a way to implement yourself, that just makes the pay off of (hopefully, anyway) creating a character that other people enjoy reacting with, and I enjoy playing. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Mechanically, they are resistant to cold, but not to heat. They cannot wear gloves without specially modifying them to fit their clawed hands, and same thing with boots. They also roll their r's and speak with "her" rather than "me" (In this case, at least). Socially, Tajarans arent too liberal, and tend to have a bit of racism between the ethnicities. They also recently have had 2 revolutions, one still in progress, meaning war is no foreign subject to them. They can also either look up to NT as a sort of savior, or dissaprove of their meddling with Adhomai affairs and blame them for causing only more problems. Character Name: Mer'tala Kaemah Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Born in the year 2436 to two Zhan-Khazan parents, Mer'tala had never known the fighting that had come from the First Revolution, and instead only knew of its effects. She lived in People's Republic territory, and although her parents obviously resented the war greatly, she learned from them that they had been on the side of the rebels. Being born after the revolution, she was able to get an education, though she didnt excel. As she grew up, her boisterous personality and love of camaraderie drew in friends, and she certainly never felt lonely. She made sure to constantly keep herself in physical shape, as she didnt see herself getting a high skill level job. When Mer'tala was 15 and Rhagrrhuzau Hadii was assassinated, once she understood the entirety of the context it meant, she was conflicted. The death of their leader was sad, but the effects it had were certainly helpful to the Tajara as a whole; Rhagrrhuzau's brother actually stood by the promise with NT. Her inner conflict quickly found a side when the Adhomai Liberation Army was formed, and she was frustrated that people had decided that civil war was the best way to fix this. She had considered herself very lucky that the First Revolution had stopped before she was born, and was very disappointed to hear that it had started up again. Although her parents felt a constant connection to her blood ties were important, so was the life of their daughter. They scraped together enough money for the next shuttle to Biesel, and after a very hesitant, and drawn out goodbye, she set out, being 21 at the time. She worked in Biesel, in Mendell City, specifically District 10 for a few years, before getting a desire to get and seek out, a job at NanoTransen, out of admiration for how they have helped Adhomai in the past. Her physical strength and ripe young age of 24 made it fairly easy to land a low skill level job, like the Cargo Bay. What do you like about this character? I enjoy her personality. She cares more for the safety of everyone, and will sacrifice her own if it means making a larger number of people safe. She likes having a large group of people around, and enjoys entertaining and making others feel good. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I'd say a 7/10, but in reality its probably more of a 6.5/10. I have RPed for a while, but I make mistakes sometimes. Not perfect, by any means. Notes: This is my first crack at making a Tajaran, so please, any feedback is appreciated!
