  1. Red Nightshade is a powerful but toxic drug that will likely kill its user, but gives them berserk fist fighting capabilities. Previously I had a character that would produce this stuff, and it was already hard to make as it required psilocybin and a few other reagents that took a while to get in hydroponics. But now Red Nightshade isnt available without a chem dispenser and phoron, in which case, it becomes completely useless because you can just make 1 million better things. I like dirty drugs that are able to be produced without the need of a chemical dispenser. I like making smuggler characters that produce them on mass and smuggle them past the checkpoint back on aurora. That gimmick is now ruined because industrial chemicals like synaptizine and phoron is required to make it. TL;DR This suggestion is to revert the recipe of Red Nightshade to be back to the way it was, if not a little more expensive than it was a a year ago, but still able to be crafted in the garden, or hydroponics. Red nightshade is a combat stimulant originating from Mars. The previous recipe was do-able but a little difficult, require plasticides I think?? its been a while. But now its not possible without going to chemistry and asking for very suspicious and obvious things, you may as well just go and ask for hyperzine at that point If I had to propose a new recipe for making it, I would recommend; Some amount of Psilocybin Some amount of Stimm Some amount of Diethylamine Maybe something else for its origins coming from mars, like the alcoholic drink; Fireball As you can tell, I'm not actually a chemist, these just seem like good options, as its less reliant on asking chemistry for combat drugs like synaptizine and phoron and saying "Trust me bro" while still requiring you to have loose ends when the bartender comes around asking why you need 3 bottles of fireball, or the chemist wonders what you've been doing with all that Diethylamine when the hydroponics trays are still out of nutriment For your information: 10u is 5 minutes of being berserk Berserk causes massive liver damage, but in my code search I couldn't find how much, it just says "Extremely taxing on the liver" Berserk removes your ability to use complex tools, I believe this includes guns Berserk increase all melee damage with melee weapons by 50%, including fist damage. Berserk gives your character a very obvious "THEY ARE ON SOME SICK SHIT" flavor text, describing your veins bulging and glowing with red light Berserk cannot be used on diona or machines obviously. Berserk makes you frequently twitch or shiver from being on it, making this a very aggressive, noticeable effect. If I see this correctly, Berserk clears all pain once and reduces pain greatly like a pain killer. Berserk causes you to have a cool red screen, and locks your intent to harm Berserk lets you crack windows barehanded
  2. This suggestion is asking for all IPC chassis's, diona, and Vaurca to be able to initiate sleeping but stay standing if they are not already resting, as well as making sleep able to be toggled on and off for these species, where toggled sleep will prevent you from waking up, even if someone is shaking you or you take damage. You have to use the sleep verb again to wake up. What does this hope to accomplish?: More interesting dynamics for these species, IPC's realistically could have some sort of subroutine to lock up and become a statue if they arent needed in the moment or feel threatened, Diona could have some sort of catatonic introspection state, where they are oblivious to their outside surroundings in a sleep like state, and Vaurca state in their lore and some item descriptions that they sleep while standing (As far as I remember atleast) (These are not mechanical, and just justifications for these species using the sleep verb to sleep while standing) Sleeping in this manner, ideally, shares the same behaviors that it does with mobs and things that regular sleeping does, where mobs won't attack the character because they are unconscious and the like, with the downside that you will still catch projectiles that come your way. Other notes and complete spitballing: It could be interesting in the lore if there was a mind caste for diona that is known for entering introspective, statue like states on a regular basis, and only snap out of it under certain conditions, or for a certain new brand or submodel of IPC (Like hazels) to have lore that states something like; "Due to [some hostile condition prompted by pirates] in [the location they are manufactured], these units are programmed with an anti-tamper and anti-damage mode where their components and all processes lock up until restarted, while easy to steal in this state, they are generally recovered by law enforcement unharmed" (This is just spitballing, I do not have any bigger picture for this lore, its purely for speculative and idea generating purposes) The text for sleeping could type to chat something like; "[name] becomes unnaturally stiff, and their gaze trails for miles, no longer responsive to the world." and "[name] abruptly re-animates, and returns to motion." when waking up
  3. Adjusting: LANGUAGE_POINTS_TO_LEARN 3 to 1 instead. "Why would you adjust the points down?" To be very simple, its kind of hard to non-consentually absorb multiple points, and will get you vilified as a pest, and multiple people attacking you, while finding 3 people who will do it consentually can be very difficult, to easy Diona mimic languages, and right now, doing say "! says, "Thing" can be an abuse of the system to mimic languages, because you dont know what anybody is saying, and can't really participate outside of searching for more blood to suck. Adjusting language points to learn, and changing the fluff message from "You have mastered the [i] language!" to something like "You have learned a little bit more about the [i] language." would make it easier to roleplay as a newly made nymph, because you could actually do proper mimicry, by mimicking things you've ACTUALLY heard, rather than guessing if somebody has said something around you and using audible emotes to 'mimic' them. I would do this myself but I neither have a github account nor the knowledge of how to do a master branch code change if I even had one, but as far as I can tell, its a simple reflavoring of text and changing a 3 to a 1
  4. Player controlled mobs that can eat food but cant drink from containers which seems unrealistic, what if im a cat and somebody gives me a cup of milk, I'm arbitrarily forced not to drink it even though I want to, they have to inject milk into an edible item for me to drink it This suggestion just asks that player controlled non-humanoid mobs should be able to drink from containers that arent sealed/arent food, and process them in their metabolism the same way, this would be most notably useful for nymphs, as it could give them a new way to drink blood from containers, even if it wouldn't do anything without a very intensive coding process Please feed the nymphs bowls of radioactive waste, they will love you for it, also let mobs climb up onto tables and drink alcohol from them at the bar and then die a warriors death
  5. I think its pretty obvious that, being a defect, and also being the primary cause of his money problems (Since im planning for their lore to be that they blew alot of their money to get the hell out of dodge (their home)), that they do not like the PRA at all, and hate it, especially after he sees it as giving it his all, just to have them turn their backs on him, the memory of his father, and other zhan, after the more brutal laws being passed against zhan which increased their already present discrimination As for the NKA, I think that Nijaarrs would be neutral to the NKA, maybe slightly disliking members of it, but nowhere near hating them as he does with the PRA. His main reason for not liking them is because of their idea that there should be one single leader of adhomai, but their reason for not hating them is that the NKA fought and battled against the PRA. Moderate Al'mariism mostly because he strongly believes in freedom for all, and decentralization of power to prevent alot of the issues that plagued his life, and to let people live how they want to live (partially influenced by his time on Cervus), but he can understand and sympathize with Natediism even if he doesnt follow its principles, due to the fact that Nijaarrs dislikes the intrusive population of other races because of rumors, speculations, and strong indicators of their involvement in the war. Nijaarrs won't hate them, since Cervus is home to xenos, and it isn't unlikely that they have met and had positive experiences with non-tajarans, which could shape his opinion as well.
  6. What is the topic of your suggestion?: slime induced euphoria What does your suggestion entail? (Please provide articulate and well worded answer) Psychiatrists are outdated, in a world where slimes exist, psychiatrists need not apply, as they've already been replaced Have you ever had a cute slime jump onto you and give you a big hug while it simultaneously rips vital DNA and genetic data from skin contact, sometimes causing severe electrical burns? I have, and while initially scary, once the electrical burns fry your nervous system and stop pain signals to your brain, its actually a highly pleasant experience, because you can 1) Pet the slime 2) Cherish the slime 3) Show the slime to your co-workers (They will be jealous of your slime and try to remove it/kill it/take it for themselves) 4) Forfeit mortal/material possessions to the slime, up to and including your life 5) Take the slime home, slimes reproduce rapidly and are completely free, I have 15 of them in my living quarters and nobody has questioned why my roommates have gone missing yet 6) Abuse diona nymphs not having rights by utilizing their healing factors under UV light to cultivate slimes, and make them love you forever, by having nearly infinite nutritional gain, and thus, slime gain, by letting slimes devour diona nymphs on a regular basis, who really cares about those tree huggers anyway How would this be balanced for the server, if messing with the balance at all? Well maybe when joining as a psychiatrist/therapist, instead of it spawning you as your slot (Which was probably lame anyway), it'll spawn you as a light pink pacified slime (which is cool) with all access to the ship (To provide morale support across the entire ship), because everybody knows that, not only so psychiatrists use their job to smuggle drugs anyway, they also don't actually do anything (EVER) there is (NO PROOF) of a psychiatrist doing anything, they keep telling me that "I cant share therapy records with you because thats medically confidential" YEAH OKAY BUDDY, JUST LIKE HOW "THE SUPERMATTER ENGINE EXISTS" BUT ENGINEERING WONT LET ME TOUCH IT obviously the chamber is just a holodeck hiding some kind of /////////////////////////////// Any additional notes? Slimes can even express emotions through rudimentary facial expressions when trained to do so, so slimes are sapient and we should stop testing on them forever because that kills them whilch is bad < proof he smiling ilike this 🙂 He WANT TO LIVE
  7. Their father died in the uprisings that occured "around the time", years after the inital D'as'ral Massacre when they were ten. Not quite "immediately during" the massacre. They were motivated by the death of their father and traditional family living to enter military service with a burning passion to make adhomai a better place, starting military education and unofficially training for it at around 10 years old. They werent "A farmer" in any official capacity, more so dabbling in it as they were taking after their mother. (EDIT: Education being more so whatever they could get their hands on until they could enter the military formally) This is a part of the background I havent fully covered on all my bases, I would like to imagine this is why they need money in the first place, as they spent alot of their savings for safe passage out of PRA and towards safer lands for their family and themselves, an act that would eventually result in their financial struggle currently, demanding them to leave adhomai to search for more well paying opprotunities probably Ahem Kah'nrir, the Junta leader of Shungsta, giving alot of their military information and expertise to them for safe passage to Crevus, he decided on crevus mostly because of fatigue of living in Shungsta after the refugee flood and just wanting to stop moving across the world and settle down in the first place thats presentable and livable away from the majority of the conflict Yes, I had rewritten the application and both times I didnt know where to put the religious stuff in, they, their parents, and their current family worship Ma'ta'ke Gods, more focusing on Marryam and the importance of raising a good family Its true that a few things here are handwavey away like "how did they escape the PRA". The idea is that they were a low ranking general that more so offered intelligent planning and thinking, and some troop coordination, but werent in any major positions due to their ethnicity as a Zhan, and would never be considered to be. I'd say the "How did they escape the PRA" angle is probably the weakest part of their backstory, where I don't actually have a concrete answer outside of them spending alot of money to get out as quick as possible during all the different policy changes and things that were happening at the time.
  8. BYOND Key: Colfer Character Names: System Control Computer (AI) \ Ka'Viax'Zoin C'thur \ Mostly maintenance drones (REX) Species you are applying to play: Tajaran What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Blue-Grey (RGB 34, 37, 50 / Hex #222532) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes, I have re-read it multiple times, mostly to ensure everything I typed here is compliant after typing it Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I have been wanting to play tajara for a very long time but simply couldnt get around to reading the lore required for making an application, but after recent lore arcs and listening to tajaran players as well as seeing how they are played, and listening to their lore. I've gained a growing seed of interest in making a character for them, based off a character I had once made when I was whitelisted for tajarans on baystation (When those were still around). I'm interested in the dynamics between different tajaran ethnicities and different factions, such as what the ALA think of Ringspire PMC's and building up a story for the character I am making Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: While humans do have unique interactions between groups and ethnicities, they are often times alot less dramatic or substantial than ones between tajarans, as the behaviors expressed by Zhan's may be dramatically different if they are talking to a human, or a Njarir'Akhran. Backgrounds of tajarans are often time related to Adhomai and the war in atleast one way, or many others. Even those born outside of Adhomai may have been born there because their parents had fled Adhomai to escape from the trouble. Tajarans also speak in third person, usually refering to their gender when speaking, such as "He did this" or "She says that" Character Name: Nijaarrs Akhrrimer Please provide a short backstory for this character At birth, Nijaarrs was raised in a very traditional Zhan household beginning in 2420, with his mother being in agricultural work, and his father being in military and policing work. Initally, Nijaarrs began to take after his mother with a growing interest in gardening, but during the uprisings at around the time of the D'as'ral Massacre, their father had been slain when Nijaarrs was around 10 years old due to an explosive from indiscriminate bombings by nobles before the ceasefires. Nijaarrs then believed that it was in both his mothers, and his own interest to switch from his agricultural aspirations, to military service to help stabilize adhomai, taking up as much education, training, and assistance from friends as he could, eventually serving as a soldier at around 20 years of age in the year 2440, serving in the PRA and eventually making it to a low ranking general before the second revolution in 2451, at about 31 years old. After the new laws that had been passed that punished Zhan-Khazan, Nijaarrs quickly used his amassed money from his service to quietly defect to the ALA with other military generals of the time, moving him and his family to Shungsta, and eventually overseas towards Cervus where he would stay, offer military advice and information, but eventually settle down and begin raising a family at 42 years old. Due to the demands of his family, and his strategic efforts going unnoticed and lacking pay raises and bonuses because of his ethnicity, Nijaarrs was forced to accept a labor deal with Nanotrasen and the SCC as a hydroponicist to afford to support both his now old and weakened mother, and his new family. What do you like about this character? Its probably the most based in lore character I've made, I like the possible interactions they would have with members of the PRA and Njarir'Akhran tajarans, who he believes wronged him in the past, this character is also one of the few that I've made who has a pre-existing marriage and a family in all my time of SS13, and I would like to explore that aspect of their personality being a family oriented man, and the worries and such that come from that. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Varying between 6 - 8 depending on mood/passion, usually 7. Additional notes: Meow meow meow nya The lackluster character list is because I kind of stopped playing all the ones I used to about a year ago when I left and deleted them, but I've gotten back into the grove of wanting to play complex characters outside of just AI and drones, and want to kick it off by making a tajaran
  9. Oh Sorry about this then, I didnt realize this was already a thing since its not mentioned anywhere that I could find, and I didnt imagine experimentally stabbing my friend with a knife would yield any result other than further injuring them.
  10. Players should be able to use sharp objects to remove shrapnel from their body, shrapnel can be DEBILITATING as solo antags like technomancer/changeling/ninja, etc, and the only way to fix it is through self surgery. Shrapnel (APPEARS) to also give the character pain, so more than 3 shards is enough to put the character into what feels like perma crit, I say this as a technomancer golem who had to babysit a technomancer for like 15 minutes straight because they were in constant debilitating pain after being shot about 20 times, even though they had no injuries. Allow the ability to use a sharp weapon on help intent to remove SPECIFICALLY shrapnel, or other debilitating embedded objects at a massive pain cost, and a very low chance to cause arterial bleeding if its done to yourself, which can be fixed through other means like bicardine overdose. Sharp weapons should perhaps have some kind of failure chance, or pain cost/damage/arterial bleed chance based on what you use, using a glass shard or a fork should be the worst possible things to use, while something like a scalpel or incision management system would be the best No I don't consider laying on the floor for 15 minutes without the ability to preform any action good gameplay, and will make suggestions to prevent this from happening and make surviving security using ballistics more possible with solo antagonists (Also, mend internal injury did nothing to remove the shrapnel from the technomancer, neither did mend life. Atleast, mend internal didnt SEEM to do anything because the other technomancer had it)
  11. Didn't realize this, the roboticist swiped me once and it didnt work so I just assumed it had to be engineering or above level access, and figured the actual console was locked. I think that swiping the drones should be access locked to this then, yes, but the console should probably be heavily relaxed. I say heavily relaxed in a completely biased manner, because as a maintenance drone, I regularly place new drone control consoles in engineering, the bridge, and the mechanist workshop, but its sad that ones on the bridge and mechanist cant be used because they are access locked now that I realized it. Didnt realize this was ahelpable, I usually just abide by security tape or general investigators in the area and don't clean up anything, good to know
  12. Maintenance drones require CE level, or full engineering level access to shut down, reboot, with an ID card and high level access to access the "Maintenance Drone Control" console. The maintenance drone control console does 4 things You can instruct drones to investigate a location You can resync drones to their current laws (This is bypassed if they are emagged, so it effectively does absolutely nothing, as drones cant get ion laws) You can shut down drones remotely (This is bypassed if they are emagged) You can turn off a drone fabricator if the console is within sight of it (No, you cannot turn it off from across the zlevel) I'm sure investigators love it when a drone ignores security tape and walks in cleaning up a crime scene without being able to do anything about it except shoot or beat the drone to death with a maglight, this would allow investigators, or really anybody to simply swipe their card over a drone to turn it off, and swipe over it again to turn it back on. I think the only drone that should be access locked is the matriarch drone, which realistically would have higher access requirements to disable or interact with, as it would be more valuable than dime a dozen robots These are costless ghost roles, they don't need to be protected behind command level access They should be protected by something like maintenance access instead, rather than drone fabricator / ce, whatever it is they have now
  13. 1) I dislike the argument that "These are too small", these are sprites, representing an object in a manner that allows it to be interacted with in the gameworld on a mechanical level, made by somebody a while ago, if I made sprites that were much larger, those got approved, and were the standard for atmospheric piping, would this argument change? 2) These pipes are placed under the floor the same way disposal pipes are, and disposal pipes can transport human beings from how large they are (MECHANICALLY), so it could be fair to say that oxygen/scrubber pipes could potentially be as big, and this would also be supported by the fact they can hold upwards of 20,000kPa without bursting 3) The pipes are big enough to hold full monkies, slimes, changeling forms, diona nymphs (unlimited on a single tile, though this could be considered an oversight), and while yes, two of those can cheat because they are shapeshifters, all I'm saying is that just because the pipes are represented as "Le' small" doesn't mean they are that way. 3b) If we went on that logic, then universal translator depicted in the same photo must be massive, having to be held with two hands, but is only represented by two pixels when in hand The same way that a character with a missing eye isnt represented by the fact that both eyes are the same color in game, but rather their flavor text/eye patch/whatever I don't think the "The sprites are too small therefor this is a bad suggestion" argument is a good one in my opinion
  14. I'd say yes, but to the amazing boon of being able to vent crawl past rooms into new areas, it should have massive downsides, namely, you should only be able to see the pipes you are crawling through, not the floor around you, not other pipe networks nearby, and no more than 5 tiles around you. Also, using any item in your inventory should emit a loud banging noise, and if you stay still for longer than 30 seconds or so, 'air quality' starts to decrease, and you begin to lose oxygen after 2 minutes. Also prevent people from moving backwards in the pipes, so it is possible to get stuck and die (Unless your a changeling) This would mean that its very disorienting to move through the pipes unless you know exactly where your going and how to get there by using the pipes. On the topic of sound, I think it should be dependent on what you are wearing at the time of vent crawling, if you only have a jumpsuit and tools in your pocket, you should make almost no noise, but if you have full gear, jacket, helmet, backpack, shoes, and are holding your tools in hand, people up to like 10 tiles out should be able to hear you banging around in the vents, amplified by sprinting Shoes, Backpack, Exosuit (Armor, jacket, etc), Hat (Hats with armor especially) and tools in hand/in pocket should amplify the sound, where as a person that is completely naked aside from holding a single screwdriver can almost not be heard unless you are standing ontop of the pipe that they are moving through
  15. A PR was pushed that was supposed to make matriarch drones unwhitelisted according to my command application where I stated that I would only use said application to play a matriarch drone after it was completed. I'm making this suggestion because even now, while the PR did remove the whitelist from matriarch drones, the server config still has not been edited to this day. making it still require a command whitelist when mine was denied since it would no longer be needed https://github.com/Aurorastation/Aurora.3/pull/13974 (This is the PR that was approved and removed the whitelist in game) To be completely clear, it is not possible at current posting to join as a matriarch drone without the whitelist, I was told it was an issue with the server config that only hosts have access to. I still do not think matriarch drones should be whitelisted to begin with, due to their extremely lax responsibilities compared to other command roles. I'm also a terminal drone main so I'm completely biased
  16. pAI's do not even have 1/1 billionth of the power that a drone or cyborg does, saying they are an "Enhanced drone slot" suggests they can do literally anything that a drone could do. pAI's do not infact have even a single hand to interact with the world, they are a mobile voice that can send people DM's and read out heartrates, that's about it. I absolutely do not understand how they could be even closely compared to them, as even a spider bot can do more. If I play a cyborg with pAI gimmicks, then I may have to abruptly stop the gimmick I'm doing to deal with an antags wacky zany antics. Since, as stated, pAI's do not even have 1billonth of the power that a drone or cyborg does, that means I also do not have the same responsibilities as them. If I play IPC I could get converted by cultists, or killed/taken hostage by traitors, EMP'd by somebody intentionally or unintentionally. Because the pAI gimmicks I have in mind are what I want to do. I have fun doing them. I do not have fun playing anything other than drones, cyborgs and AI's. All in all, I do what I want to do. And I dont see how thats relevant to this suggestion.
  17. This suggestion asks what it says on the tin, clicking a pAI device asks if you really want to be a pAI, if you say yes then it asks what your name will be, then places you into the pAI after finalizing your name. Bad things that could happen with this suggestion: I dont know, the pAI in the research directors office comes alive or something and acts like a radio host? You wipe/shoot/break a pAI device and it comes back to life immediately (With no memory of the event mind you, since a pAI would not remember anything after literal death) This also isn't really much of a problem, because practically any issue that would arise from it would be a player issue, and possibly rule breaking.
  18. Actually I will be taking this complaint, as I am more qualified (I have a PHD in shitposting) Sentenced to playing Ark Survival Evolved™ for 93.31 minutes for the crimes as outlined in this complaint, a fitting punishment for such a criminal Verdict 1: Me the executioner finds goolies guilty of the following: Being smelly Verdict 2: Me the executioner finds goolies guilty of the following: maidenless Verdict 3: Me the executioner finds goolies guilty of the following: Making dad jokes
  19. I heavily encourage this suggestion. Anytime I lose power or get critically damaged as a borg, I just ghost instantly due to never knowing if you will or wont be subjected to 30 minutes or more of a black screen. I would rather just die instantly when I lose power than the former, this would be a good compromise as you could hold on to life as long as you want, but die immediately when you want to
  20. The role specifically says that its quite boring, and then you jumped into it and got bored. What I would suggest instead of removing it, is to lock it behind a population amount for the TCLF ship, there must be a TCFL prefect before the detainee role gets unlocked. As of right now, two prisoners can spawn on an empty TCFL ship with many guns and armor on it, which isnt acceptable because you can escape quite easy.
  21. People are lonely, and pAI's are designed almost entirely to be a companion to one specific person as a card. Why this would be in demand is that somebody just wants to have a friend for life, somebody that they can talk to that was made for them. Sure, pAI devices are portable and probably affordable, but those can get stolen or dropped, damaged, deactivated, wear down, run out of charge, etc etc. This would be a solution to those problems. Probably nobody, which is a good thing since maybe 1 pAI in all of byond's history has been designed to scream. I don't understand this point. "allowing the owner of the pAI to toggle the ability for the pAI to assist them" "swapping places until the owner wants to regain control or the pAI releases it." This ability is repeatedly phrased in a way that suggests that the owner has full control over the aforementioned ability multiple times, and can end it at any time. A pAI is designed with 1 primary directive, "Serve your master", there would not be much of a risk to the owner, as risking the owners personal safety would be a violation of this directive, and supplementary directives do not override it, so the pAI cannot, under any circumstances, knowingly bring its owner into danger. Additionally, if the pAI were trying to hijack its owners brain without their consent, this is again, a violation of the directive. So realistically it isn't possible. EDIT: "Considering how powerful the hate of synthetics is in MOST places" I dont think that an extremely intelligent, almost sapient machine that was constructed from the same code as glorsh omega which committed atrocities beyond comprehension is the same as an intelligent robot dog/cat/parrot with the ability to speak to people very well. You'd have to be one of those comedically racist dominion robo haters for something like that. Overall I don't think this contributed to the discussion, but thanks for your input
  22. Heres a fancy idea, what if we had an augment that functioned identically to a pAI, but this time being placed inside of a thing in your head. Heres a few ideas to how I think it could work. 1. Its just an augment that, when you click it, opens up the pAI interface and allows you to search for personalities, manage directives, imprint your DNA, or wipe the pAI, and thats all it does. The pAI could (somehow) be given the ability to speak with whoever has the augment. If the augment is broken, the pAI player automatically dies, and thats all it does. probably the best option. 2. The same as before, but this time the pAI can do extra stuff that will help its owner and make up for the fact they can no longer influence the world by.. walking around in it I guess. This extra stuff could be things like increasing the efficiency of synthetic or assisted organs by 5%, allowing them to body scan their owner (but not print the paper, requiring communication), or letting the pAI access the same augments that their owner can, and deploy them whenever they wish. 2b. Another feature that could be cool, but very hard to justify or implement, is allowing the owner of the pAI to toggle the ability for the pAI to assist them, effectively swapping places until the owner wants to regain control or the pAI releases it. This feature could be useful for trainer pAI's who want to help their owner with complicated to explain tasks, or people who want to have a directive bound cheery intelligence take their place whenever they themselves cant keep up such a facade. This is probably best just left as food for thought because it could lead to problems.
  23. The majority of people seem to disagree with moving this whitelist to AI judging by 2 dismissals. I am obligated to apply for command, even though I have no intent to utilize command roles except for matriarch drone I intend to use this whitelist extremely frequently to play matriarch drone very often as it is one of my favorite roles. I never said that I wouldn't ever use the command whitelist in the application, just that I would be playing matriarch drone unless I was impaired in some way.
  24. I hard disagree with this in its entirety. I believe that mercs and raiders are already going up against a crew of 20/30 people and the ability to know all the tactics that the crew is going to much more, what security and command are up to, is vitally important for what-ever gimmick they have going. I do not believe that mercs or raider requires any changes at the moment. Merc inherently devolves into a TDM because of the fact that its incentivized by their starting location which contains many many weapons, tools, and gadgets that allow them to have a more substantial impact against security should they intervene in their gimmick, but nothing is stopping mercs from doing something different. Also, the majority of the mercenary teams that I have seen already has difficult or non-existent communications between themselves on their own, damaging their ability to gather information further I believe would have no possible positive impact on the way mercenary players play, and would result in an increase of bad, half thought, or poorly executed gimmicks. -1 from me

[Yes. in 2020-09-09 I killed somebody who just spawned while I was as a cultist, since they went down the elevator on old aurora station and managed to find our cult base before we could secure the doors, and since they were a security officer I believed at the time it was right to do so. I realized that this was not a good thing to do, as other methods could have been used to incapacitate the person instead of so quickly removing them from the round. It was inconsiderate of me to choose the gamemode over somebodies enjoyment of it. I cannot recall any recent administration actions past that point.] Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: [I think heads of staff serve as a role model, a point of reference or as a guide to those who seek knowledge in the head's respective area. A head of staff's duty is to serve as an exceptional member of the community through the actions of their chosen character, as well as a point of interest for administrators or antagonists of the round, to either add spice, play along with gimmicks, or otherwise serve the round in a positive way in order to add and expand to the story as much as they can at the time. Ontop of that, it is their duty to try and help players who seek their help in understanding and more easily grasping complicated parts of their department.] What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: [I believe the OOC responsibilities of the whitelisted player to other players is to provide meaningful and helpful experiences, however subtle or overt they choose to provide them, as well as to somewhat ensure that the round in progress goes smoothly, by coordinating and helping keep other players calm in times of pressure or hardship, or teach newer players an easy learning experience to the complicated mechanics or functions of whatever department that the head of staff is accustomed and knowledgeable in.] Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? [If I am not mistaken, the horizon recently launched and is currently having missions gone underway, while im not familiar as to any recent events that have happened. Im aware of the phoron crisis being one of the primary factors as to why the horizon was built in the first place, with some of its mission goals being to seek out phoron and research it similar to how the auroras purpose was to research phoron and other anomalous things. However my character is a free IPC from konyanger, a seasoned xenobotanist and anomaly researcher, after cultivating countless amounts of fragile alien flora, and helping in the field of robotics and information technology. They had been noticed by the SCC and brought onboard the project as a scientist, through displays of work ethic, research documentation and scientific method they are now applying for positions as a research director to lead the charge in phoron research. Ontop of other duties they would experience as a research director.] What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? [Literally only matriarch drone, I will not play anything else after this is accepted unless I am somehow impaired in some way. The reason for this is that while I'm sure and fully confident in my abilities that I would be an good member of command, I simply would lack the desire to actually take part as a member of command or as a head of staff due to the race or origin restrictions that would be placed apon me as a result of such. Thus, I would most likely only play a burner character for the entirety of my command trial in some area I am familiar with and then never use the character again unless the rules for command whitelists were changed, and the active whitelist holders were purged. If playing a character that isnt a maintenance drone is absolutely required, I would play a scientist, or research director for the duration of my application trial, the reason for which being that I feel I will have more opportunity to gather positive feedback if I play as a more roleplay intensive yet mechanically focused role.] Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? [I am familiarizing myself with the wiki pages for the command roles at the moment, but I'm confident that in my long time of experience in roleplaying games, servers and systems that I am already intuitively familiar with these wiki pages, coupled with my extensive knowledge in mechanics, I predict that I will be able to familiarize myself with these wiki pages in incredibly short durations of time, if not that, then atleast familiar myself with them as I play, I may still need to do so once or twice while playing. Currently I am familiar with the captain and research director pages as well as the chain of command. ] Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking: [I cannot make a matriarch drone as a character, and Im certain applying with a maintenance drone would bring shame apon me and my family for hundreds of generations, so I suppose I will apply with a Research Director. This research director will be a bishop accessory frame named "Trajectory". They will be most experienced in fields of robotics, information technology and xenobotany] Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? [Absolutely. I'm fully aware that I am supposed to be an example, and a non-exceptional record would not be acceptable for the level of importance such a position gives me.] Have you linked your byond account to the forums? [It says I have] Extra notes: [I'VE BEEN PLAYING MAINTENANCE DRONE FOR LIKE HALF A YEAR (across multiple servers) I CANT STOP AAAAAAA, MATRIARCH DRONE IS MY LIFEEE!! 🤖❤️]
