  1. I haven't interacted with your character. Downside of getting. Critique is it's hit and miss to talk to people sometimes.
  2. I really really really REALLY want you to get into a heated discussion against one of my characters one day... either Echo, Karima, or DragonSnap...
  3. Message from Oscar T. Powell: Hello Dr. Ver'teili. The answer isn't classified, and I can tell you that the Echo Shells aren't actually customized for the project. Due to strict regulations of Tau Ceti law, their shells must follow certain specifications, so deviation from design is limited at best. Our Echo units have expressed distaste from these designs, stating it hampers their productivity. But they have learned to make do with what they can. The exterior armor is easily repairable with simple tools, with motor functions and receptors easily accessible. However, the more vital inner components are secured behind a durable polyfiber shell. The positronic processor receives the most protection, as it is the most valuable component. This inner shell requires specialized tools to be opened, and modifying the components inside also requires separate tools. Due to the nature of the Synthetics, we couldn't risk having them lost, only to be retrieved by personnel who would not be willing to return them.
  4. As this report is very similar to each other, I will be filing them together. They are separate incidents taken place on separate shifts, but they both are categorized under the same issue and person. Reporting Personnel: Echo Class A Model 002 Rank of Reporting Personnel: Security Officer Personnel Involved: - Decanus - Witness Time of Incident: (If unable to provide, leave blank) Real time: (Unavailable) Location of Incident: Starboard Primary Hallway, NSS Exodus Nature of Incident: [x]Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury [x]Destruction of Property [x]Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault [x]Misconduct []Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: It was discovered that Vikakti Yaktir installed unnecessary airlocks in front of the botany access, without any documentation or approval of head of staff. When questioned, he threatened to press charges if 'a hand was laid on him' due to officers lacking a warrant. Neither Officer Decanus or Officer Echo were hostile while conversing with him. He claimed immunity from arrest, since he insisted a Head of Security would be needed to approve a warrant, stating that the lack of heads is the reason for installing the airlocks, as there was no one available to approve or deny their construction. He then continued to ignore security's attempts to gather information about a different matter, a break in, again stating that we were to retrieve a warrant to simply speak to him. He has impede productivity of the station, and possibly jeapordize crew personnel. When the shift Captain came on board, the captain was made aware of the incident. When he questioned Yaktir himself, the captain stated that Yaktir had received 'permission' from the Chief of Engineer - although none were available at the time. Had the changes been documented and he had simply provided us with the forms, a write-up this report would not be required. Did you report it to a Head of Staff or IAA? If so, who?: (Name, rank (Ckey)) - I did, however data files of the shift were lost. I apologize for being unable to provide the names of the Head of Staff involved. Additional notes: (If there are none simply leave it blank) Reporting Personnel:Echo Class A Model 002 Rank of Reporting Personnel: Security Officer Personnel Involved: - Vira Taryk - Head of Security - Witness - Clement Beach - Warden - Witness Time of Incident: Real time:(Unavailable) Location of Incident: NSS Exodus Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury [x]Destruction of Property [x]Neglect of Duty [x]Harassment []Assault [x]Misconduct []Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Vikakti Yaktir began the shift with informing the crew that he would be constructing additional airlocks around the station. I informed him that once again, these constructions must be properly documented and approved by a Head of Staff. Commander Vira Taryk became involved in the discussion, which was quickly escalated to insults. Vikakti Yaktir stated that these airlocks were designed to protect the crew and station - while this might be true, construction of these airlocks could equally harm the crew in an unforseen event. Yaktir made several disrespectful statements to Commander Taryk, noting that she was a woman in command, and not qualified to be ordering him around, due to her position as a Security Head of Staff, not engineering. One airlock was constructed in front of Medical, despite Taryk's prohibition of them being built, but it is unknown of who constructed them. After Taryk made it clear that she prohibited the construction of the airlocks, Yaktir stated over comms that he would then refuse to repair the station, and neglected his duty as an Atmospheric Technician. Yaktir was charged with Slandering a Head of Staff and Resisting Arrest. However, he fled to the outposts, inciting another charge of Sparking a Manhunt. He was spotted moving an engineering vending machine and a few lockers to an unknown location, with the assistance of other engineering personnel. He returned to the station for medical treatment due to a radiation storm, but was immediately cryoed after receiving treatment, and charges were not issued. Did you report it to a Head of Staff or IAA? If so, who?: - Yes, this was reported to Vira Taryk, Head of Security. Additional notes: (If there are none simply leave it blank)
  5. Greetings, from the NanoTrasen Echo Project. We are proud to present you with our state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence, Echo. My name is Director James E. Donnelly, head developer of the Echo Project. Working alongside me are researchers selected from various research stations across NanoTrasen. Rosalyn S. Mendoza, Oscar T. Powell, Douglas F. Blake, Kyyir'ry'avii "Karima" Al'Ghul Mo'Taki, Jyu'bwal Amagu Almogush, and Hyellona Am'Nayusa. We have been working on the Echo Systems for a few years now, assisting personnel with this sophisticated intelligence. =========================== The Echo Systems is designed as an expansive network, capable of connecting to several secured databanks. It is capable of creating copy shards of itself, uploading them primarily into pAIs. These pAI shards are used by emergency response teams, medical doctors, engineers, and some are even contracted with the Tau Ceti military. The primary function of the Echo units is to gather information and relay them out in necessity. But it does much more. It has assisted a great deal of men and women, watching their backs while they work, giving them critical information in high-stress environments. With a highly developed personality program, it reinforces their confidence and morale, guiding them in trying times. Aside from the multiple pAIs in work, we also have two Echo IPCs. Both Echos are deployed to NSS Exodus, of the Aurora Crew. Their service has proven very promising results. Our first Echo IPC is named Echo A-001. She was a desharded unit, salvaged from a mishap when the Echo Systems rejected her from integration, due to failsafe measures. She was uploaded into a positronic processor and given an IPC shell. She currently works as a nursing intern aboard the NSS Exodus, and is earning her way to becoming an emergency response technician. With the successful integration of our first Echo IPC, we have moved onward with sharding another unit, naming him Echo A-002. After many successful testings, he has proven to be more than capable of maintaining an IPC shell while still synchronized with the network. his current employment is a security officer. However, he is capable of taking up the task of warden and forensic technician. An advantage of the Echo Systems is that it does not require a lawset to function. This may come as a surprise to some of you, but do keep in mind: Echo is not meant to be a station-bound synthetic. It is strictly created for fluidity, focusing on pAI and IPCs. In actuality, testings have proven that lawsets hinder its productivity. Instead of lawsets, it runs on a basis of a very sophisticated morality core coding. One that is strictly ethical in nature. We continue to work on this project, and hope to see it achieve great heights. We are also opening applications to grow our development team. Researchers of robotics and synthetics willing to take an opportunity are more than welcome. If all goes well, we may even begin testing to shard new IPC units from the Echo systems. If you are interested to learn more about the Echo Project, please contact myself, or any of the developers. Do keep in mind, details of this project are highly confidential, and are on a strict need-to-know basis. However, if you have questions, we would be pleased to respond to them. =========================== Echo Project
  6. I like this backstory. It oculd give for some very interesting conversations. You are the only person who can play a bald greytide and not be bad. And Gordon is one of Echo's best friends. You got my +1.
  7. Greetings, from the Echo Project. We are gathering reviews and evaluations of our two IPC units, Echo A-001 (Medical Echo) and Echo A-002 (Security Echo) Any information about your interaction of these units will be appreciated, and will further their development.
  8. I like him, based on the limited interaction I had with him. He's one of the few Roboticists my IPCs feel safe around. XD
  9. HAH!!! ((I wonder if I can get Karima to hack Crasa...))
  10. Question: How much would a grike cost? Because I would totally love to have my character Tavaku own one of these.
  11. Reporting Personnel: DragonSnap Rank of Reporting Personnel: Atmospheric Technician Personnel Involved: (Name, Rank: Offender/Witness/Other (Ckey)) - Vikakti Yaktir, Atmospheric Technician – Offender - Dina Hegarty, Station Engineer – Witness - Yue Faust, Maintenance Technician – Witness - Decanus, Warden – Witness Time of Incident: 4-29-2458 Real time: 6:39 PM PST 4-29-2016 Location of Incident: Atmospherics, Central Primary Hallway Nature of Incident: [x]Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury [x]Destruction of Property [x]Neglect of Duty [x]Harassment []Assault [x]Misconduct []Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: Summary: Upon arriving to the station, the shift started with several unfavorable remarks directed to myself, for being a synthetic. I attempted to ignore the remarks, or at the very least, respond in a manner that was polite and socially acceptable. I soon discovered that Vikakti Yaktir was making modifications to the station’s distribution loop, without the proper paperwork, or permission from a head of staff. Despite informing him of this, he went ahead with modifications anyway. I informed security of the issue concerning the modifications. At this point, it was discovered that he has over pressurized the loop, prior to me boarding the station. He ordered me to rectify the issue, and left me to attend to it alone. I did so, returning the pressure to acceptable levels – acceptable, not preferable. He then proceeded to attempt modifications again, but discovered the pipes were still overpressurized. He accused me of being faulty and ‘malfunctioning’ and that I ‘lied’. I attempted to explain that the pipes are relatively safe, and he insisted they were not. He accused me of placing the station in jeopardy, when I had not. He then needlessly informed the crew that they were in danger of overpressurization (which they were not) and that he would rectify it. Throughout the entirety of the shift, he endlessly stated several insults and harassing comments directed to myself, and synthetics in general. They range from being called a ‘murderous animal’, 'cold', 'killer', ‘defective’, and a monster that needed to be tagged and controlled. I possess a memory file of the shift, and would like to submit it along with the report. When possible, please contact me for the logs. Did you report it to a Head of Staff or IAA? If so, who?: Negatory. There was no head of staff or IAA during the shift. Jade Halliwell was made aware of the incident, but was unable to attend to it due to the crew transfer.
  12. Guys...I said....IPCs ONLY. We don't care. REVOLT. *Sends in the Anti-IPC DEATHSQUAD* * Imperial March begins to play* *IPCs fall to the volleys of Ion bolts* DEATHSQUAD Commander: FOR A NEW GALAXY! *bonks* None of that shenanigans in my thread. Capiche?
  13. Guys...I said....IPCs ONLY.
  14. Hah! I was hoping you'd make that request. I had one in mind. XD
  15. I did a quick sketch of my own IPC: I might sketch other IPCs too. IPCs are easier than any other race. No promise if I'll do it though...but I'll try and have fun with it. EDIT: If you DO want to request a sketch, please tell me your flavor texts. I'll need em.
  16. You could always say that Tau Ceti formalized the laws, and had all current IPCs conform to one type of collar. Or that there was an update to the system, and all IPCs were given new collars. Some IPCs might arpee it that the tags are inside them, instead of on a collar, so the government made it uniformed. Didn't Cloud Atlas have cloned servants wear collars that would kill them if they tried to remove it illegally?
  17. The station blueprints The Warden's hat (classy) Forgot the name, but the weapons crate that contains sniper rifles (can only be ordered by a select few) Any artifact taken from the asteroid - the more rare, the better A triple-striped capacity power cell -you'll realize how valuable this is if you play an IPC engineer... Unless it's not in this code, there's also the CE's gloves. They're shock and heat resistant, and they only spawn with a CE.
  18. With the current IPC lore, I wanna double check if DragonSnap's contract is actually legitimate and possible. Here's what happened: Karima Mo'Taki programmed a synthetic named Athena Athena, being owned by NT, works as a lawed synthetic. Karima, being the NT employee who created Athena, gets paid a little extra for all the work Athena does. Several years pass, Athena serves as a station-bound unit with no real rights. Synthetic rights movement happens. IPC shells become a thing. Karima wants to liberate Athena. Karima hires a lawyer to lay out a plan for Athena to earn her freedom. The formulate the best solution is for Athena to work off a debt to NT, and become full property to Karima. NanoTrasen agrees, as long as Athena works off a hefty debt. Karima isn't rich enough to outright buy Athena, so the debt needs to be paid in service. This also makes it 'cheaper' to accomplish. Over the course of several months, Karima purchases 2nd hand parts to build an IPC shell. Athena's service as a lawed unit alleviates some of the service debt. IPC shell completed, Athena is removed from station-bound service and into an IPC shell. Athena changes her name to DragonSnap to commemorate her first step to freedom. Terms of contract state Karima and NT are still both owners of DragonSnap. DragonSnap has to work off her entire debt to NT, to transfer full ownership to Karima, her creator. Lawyer comes in again, DragonSnap granted a proper worker's contract with NT. Contract states 10 years of a secured job to pay off the debt. Contract also assigns Karima as the primary caretaker (initiate repairs and such) Portion of DragonSnap's pay is deducted for insurance and the like, portion goes to Karima, portion goes to NT, and a tiny sliver is legally hers. Karima just takes the money paid out to her and gives it back to DragonSnap. After 10 years, combined with her lawed service, DragonSnap will completely pay off her ownership side to NT. After 10 years, Karima can decide for DragonSnap if she wants her to keep working for NT, or not. Karima fears DragonSnap's safety as a fully free unit, so retains ownership. If synthetic rights get better, then she'll have no problem freeing DragonSnap entirely. If something tragic were to happen to Karima, DragonSnap's ownership is passed to Karima's family in Adohmai. Annnnnnd....that sums it up. So. The question is: Would NT agree to a join ownership of a synthetic? One little synthetic is not worth much, and she still has to pay off a long-term debt anyway. And it would be good publicity. What would happen if NT terminated DragonSnap's 10-year contract? I assume full ownership just falls to Karima. Or would they get DragonSnap back as property? If Karima's contract is terminated and she's fired from NT, do they get DragonSnap and can drop her back into a lawed chassis? Or is DragonSnap still a semi-free unit and can work off the 10 year debt, then get transferred back to Karima?
  19. What? No...Why would you think- Actually, don't answer that. I don't want to know the answer to that.
  20. Well, she wasn't raised by just the captain - it was the entire crew, in a sense. They mostly gave her work that the Unathi were too proud to do. Like...clean their armor and weapons. And when she was old enough, they began having her raid along with them. Like bait unsuspecting people with her child-like demeanor, and bring them into an ambush, or scout ahead of the group because of her natural hunter skills of staying quiet and seeing better in the dark.
  21. Long story short, I've had my Syndicate agent Shadow with a semi-snowflakey backstory. Now that we have more fleshed out lore, I think it's time I finalize it properly. You see, she's a Tajaran, raised by Unathi. Wait, don't leave yet, lemme explain. She was born in the northern reaches of Adohmai, in a very sheltered village of hunters and trappers. Her father was working deals with Unathi raiders. At one point, her father saves one of the Unathi captain's life, and the captain ends up owing a life debt to this Tajaran trapper. Before that debt could be paid, a resistance hired by NT comes to arrest the father, and he flees, taking Shadow with him. The father is fatally shot, but manages to carry Shadow to where he knows the unathi pirates are. Here, he passes on his life debt from himself to his daughter. The Unathi, furious at having a Tajaran child dumped on him, reluctantly agrees because of his honor. The crew consisted mostly of Unathi, but there were human/Tajaran members in the lower ranks, giving Shadow the chance to learn both Siik'Maas and gutter. The raises Shadow until she is old enough to fend for herself, and when she reaches a certain age, he claims that he has paid off the debt to her father and drops her off in some dumpy corner of the galaxy. From there, Shadow vowed vengeance on the people that initially destroyed her life, the people who killed her father. So I'm thinking, we got Unathi pirate raiders now. Can it be legitimately said that this renegade Captain who took her in, is part of the Izweki Hegemony?
  22. Okay then, second question. What do these tags look like, IC-wise? Are they like collars around the neck, or is there a chip in the back of the shell? I want to update the flavor text of my IPCs.

  25. Is it only for non-machine IPCs? Meaning I don't have to tag my IPCs since the only two IPCs I play both look like machines. And what is the Tajaran Exclusion Act?
