Ok, um....I - I feel like I should post something. Buuuut....I really don't wanna get involved in the drama... I'm playing Echo, and while I did arrive late, I saw a glimpse of what happened. I honestly, truthfully, sincerely believe that what occurred is the same as what I stated ICly: There was a strong misunderstanding, that escalated rapidly. On one side, Jackboot, you are correct. You demoted someone who refused to listen to your simple guidelines. And on the flipside, you kicked out a capable doctor who was in the middle of treating a patient. To the doctor, insult was added to injury when you ordered the nurse (either me or her, was not stated) to clean up medbay. Salt on the wound. From respectable doctor to picking up cigar butts off the floor? Anyone with self-pride would cryo after that. I felt so sorry for whoever was playing as the Skrell, and went to talk to them before they headed to cryo. The doctor was a Skrell: Skrells are very proud IIRC. You played Unathi. You demanded unquestionable respect due to eldership. That just clashed. And Echo? She's an IPC who is literally programmed to do what she does. And the android? Well, it's lawed. We're all just playing out our characters here. No OOCly disrespect. I know medbay isn't run like engiebay, but if a Head takes the time to give some one-on-one chat to re-establish their authority while still garnering respect to both sides, it'll go a long way. And yeah. Engiebay is communist Utopia, we're best department. That Skrell? I would have loved to have her work in my team, no sweat.. I'm am not saying one side is more wrong than the other. I am saying that there was a strong lack of intended dialogue on both sides and it escalated very quickly.

I gotta jump on the bandwagon and agree here. My priestess got freaking arrested and humiliated when she exorcised a restless spirit because she 'destroyed evidence of what was clearly a hologram'. I mean...I literally facepalmed. This is her job, to perform exorcisms, and she gets detained for it. Oh, and disrupting evil energies and sanctifying the station by removing a blood rune the HoS showed her - the IAAs were all over her. Part of the problem is that religion isn't taken seriously on SS13. We have literal lunatic chaplains that spout crazy nonsense that no one believes. And then when legit preachers come along, they're immediately labeled as looneys as well. I wanna support this. Make it literal visual proof that the chaplain is a force to be reckoned with. There is a reason why I play an undercover sleeper agent in security. Because I have an excuse not to care about what the heck goes on. If I played an officer that did care, well...I'd have another case of someone going absolutely crazy. Long gone are the days of Commander Lysanuh Dilgan. I don't know what it is about this department. Engineering, I can let them go off and do their own thing without worrying. Research, everyone does what's needed and asked. Both of them are like a big chummy family. Security gets both ends of the spectrum. Complete rookie mallcops and war-weathered cigar-biting vets, tossed in with a few gung-ho 'Shoot the tator!' officers. What I think we need is an IC look from perhaps a DO, and a 'retraining' of the sec team, if you will.

After a set amount of time, I believe. And the likelyhood of it leaking radiation is random. You see, most protopistols are produced from the RnD lab. Stuff made there has a tendency to break. They're only meant to be prototypes. Power cells can stop charging, and protopistols will produce radiation. That's why you're supposed to be very wary of handing out stuff, and not give it out like candy. The protopistols in the ERT room are fine, and won't break. So no ERT suddenly has random radiation damage. Question 3: is it possible to add a new secret frequency to the telecomms?

Yeah, I'm playing DS that she's connected to both synthetic culture, and Tajaran culture. I've toyed with the idea of giving her a tail, but it might be a bit cheesy. At the very least, I'd like her to understand siik'mas, since that is what she was programmed in. I already have her mimic Tajaran body language in as much was as she can, minus tail and ear flicks. The way she drops her shoulders, tilts her head, her stance, her movement - it's all mimicry of Tajaran.

BYOND Key: NebulaFlare Character name:DragonSnap Item name: N/A Why is your character carrying said item to work? DragonSnap was created by a Tajaran, Karima Mo'Taki. Before she earned her IPC shell, she understood all languages as a station-bound unit. After receiving her shell, she's been assisting Karima in her research on AI sentience. Karima has a belief that language holds an important vocal link in relaying important information when it comes to AI self-awareness, and will more than often speak strictly Siik'maas to units, in order to properly convey whatever message she has. It's her way of showing she deeply cares for the units she works on. Basic is a difficulty for Karima, as she does not speak it as fluently as a human would. Siik'maas also uses body language heavily, and DragonSnap has shown a habit of mimicking Tajaran body language to the best of her abilities as a TV head. However, this is not the entirety of Siik'maas. It would make a little more sense if I could have DragonSnap speak, or at least understand, Siik'maas. I always arpeed it that she was not allowed to know Siik'maas because of IPC laws, but I can find a way around. I like to think she'd at least be allowed to know Siik'maas off station, when she's at home with the Mo'Taki.
