Reporting Personnel: Echo (A-002) Rank of Reporting Personnel: Counselor Game ID: bPs-dwE4 Personnel Involved: (Name, Rank: Offender/Witness/Other (Ckey)) - Failsafe 611 - Research Cyborg: Witness - Opamator - Officer: Victim The rest of the crew have been listed. Time of Incident: 15:13 Station Time Real time: Approximately 6:00 PM PST 7/14/2017 Location of Incident: Disposals, Robotics Lab Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard [x]Accident/Injury [x]Destruction of Property [x]Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault []Misconduct [x]Other possible death of victim Overview of the Incident:Around the beginning of the shift, there was a report of a flock of space carp, and security was deployed to handle the incident. I had heard there was an explosion, and that two officers had been killed/severely wounded - not overly certain on the details. Later on, a call came about by the station unit Failsafe-611 that one of the deceased officers was missing: Officer Opamator. It informed the crew that the IPC had been retrieved (It was one of the officers caught in the explosion) and had been delivered to robotics. However, they were now nowhere to be found. Concerned, I went to ask roboticist Rowan Losey if Opamator had arrived, to which they replied that they had only recently returned from a supply run, and had not received anyone. The cyborg Failsafe eventually managed to locate them in the disposals. Upon informing the crew of its location, the Head of Personnel, Zilosnish Szu, stated, "It killed ssssomeone. I am sssure it isss only garbage now." I contacted Paul Jonson to inform him of what had happened, but received no response. In turn, I contacted the Warden Sophie Rifler and asked her if the Commander was available. She replied that he was, so I then asked if they knew of Opamator's condition. She informed me that security was aware and handling the situation. As the Roboticist Max Steele succumbed to SSD, and Roboticist Rowan Losey was nowhere to be found, Failsafe-611 began conducting repairs for Opamator. I assisted partially under Failsafe's instructions due to the Cyborg's inability to manipulate certain tools (Lack of hands), and we managed to reboot Opamator. I informed him of what happened, how he had ended up in disposals, and asking if he actually did kill someone. He replied that while he was shooting carp with another officer, where he accidentally misfired and hit a welding tank - which had exploded. I spoke to him awhile more, learning that no one was arrested for disposing his body and no investigation had been opened to find out who or why. He returned to his duties at security. After the shift, I asked him once more if anyone had done anything concerning the incident, and learned no one had. I asked if the Commander knew that Opamator had ended up in disposals. To my surprise, Opamator informed me that no, Commander Jonson was unaware and only learned of it at the very end of the shift. This bothers me greatly, that a Security Officer had been neglected and nearly disposed of, for an accident. Opamator did create an explosion, and another officer was harmed, but the conduct and outcome of the staff involved is not acceptable. The Heads of Staff on duty either were not concerned (As is shown by Szu's words) or not informed (As Commander Jonson had been unaware). No investigation was opened to find out who or why, and to my knowledge, no one went out to seek Opamator; save for the station bound unit, Failsafe. The explosion was not malicious, as Opamator stated the explosion to have been an accident. I have no knowledge of who the other officer was that was caught in the explosion; only speculation. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: Indirectly, yes. (Please refer to Overview of Incident) Paul Johnson Actions taken: None to my knowledge. Additional notes:

Add welding goggles to loadout please. Job limit them to the engineering dept and roboticist only.

Have a double grab intent on an IPC, aim for the hands. Clicking on an APC with help intent will charge the IPC. Clicking on an APC with harm intent will electrocute the poor robot. ....Doing this with any other race, regardless of intent, will electrocute the sucker.

New chapel is pretty bleh. I like it that we now have the holodeck moved to the main level, but the Chaplain's office is leaves room for potential. 1. Change the Chapel Door to be all access 2. Make the Chapel's Office a small ceremonial/holy grounds room. (Cult stuff applies to this holy ground, like ghosts can't pass through, etc) 3. Make the crematorium the new chaplain's office. 4. Remove the bedroom and make that the crematorium behind the chaplain's office. 5. Take the restrooms on the opposite side, cut it in half, and make one half the bedroom.

[ACCEPTED] Zelmana's Head of Security Application
NebulaFlare replied to Zelmana's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
After being a cadet and shadowing Sean, he's earned my +1. I withheld it for awhile since I never had a chance to interact with him properly prior to that. But seeing how he handled situations, I'm happy to see a promising officer. We need more good officers on the team! So to reiterate: +1 -

Reporting Personnel: Echo (A-001) Rank of Reporting Personnel: Paramedic Game ID: bPk-byyN Personnel Involved: (Name, Rank: Offender/Witness/Other (Ckey)) - Sonorous Zouzoror, Security Officer: Offender - Zartajr Kaytam, Security Cadet: Patient, Witness - System Crash, Nurse: Witness - Arthur Sommer, Warden: Witness Time of Incident: 11:43 Station Time Real time: around 4:30 AM 7/6/2017 Location of Incident: Departures Shuttle Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [x]Neglect of Duty [x]Harassment [x]Assault [x]Misconduct [x]Other Ignoring a staff of medical and endangering a patient. Overview of the Incident: At the arrival of my shift, I came across Sonorous Zouzoror and Zartajr Kaytam in the arrivals lounge, sparring with each other. Kaytam had a small wound which I treated, before heading to medical. Later, Kaytam came to medical again with a wound, which I treated. Zouzoror ordered me to accompany them to the holodeck so he could teach Kaytam more combative techniques - to which I refused. Afterwards, I witnessed System Crash at the holodeck, having sustained damage to her frame after Zouzoror beat her with a stun baton, to show Kaytam how to 'take down a synth'. I PDAed Kaytam and asked if Zouzoror mentioned anything about needing to speak to an offender before taking them into custody, as force was not always necessary to detain someone. - to which they replied that no, the officer had not made any mention of it. Knowing that Zouzoror would not acknowledge anything said by myself, I informed them to speak to the Warden Arthur Sommer, as he may be a better teacher than the officer in company policy. Further into the shift, there was an attack of bioweapons (bluespace bears) and cadet Kaytam had been heavily injured. I first responded to them and treated them, then told them to wait in security lobby while I attended more critical patients. In my absence however, bears assaulted them again, and by the time I returned, they were heavily injured. I took them to medical for intensive treatment. Zouzoror entered medical and hovered over Kaytam during their treatment, delegating treatment and requesting they receive painkillers and food, instead of waiting in the lobby. I can respect his concern for the patient, but he is not in a position to delegate doctors. I took Kaytam away to treat them, but the shift had ended, and it was time to head to departures. After ensuring they were stable, I resumed treatment in the medical wing of the shuttle. Zouzoror followed me into the wing. I placed Kaytam into the cyropod. Zouzoror demanded they are out as soon as they were capable, and I and informed them not to interfere with their treatment. Zouzoror's reply was, "He needs to relearn what he lost more than he needs to heal." and proceeded to eject him out of the cyropod. I rushed back into medical to return Kaytam to the pod, demanding Zouzoror leave the medical ward at once. He refused. Having had enough of his attitude, I attempted to force him out of the ward. He overpowered me in the struggle, and used his cuffs during the fight. After we had docked, he finally left and I was able to continue treating Kaytam. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?: No, none were available. Actions taken: As this was by docking at the Odin, there were no personnel to report this to. Additional notes: ((OOC: Zartajr Kaytam had died from the bluespace bears and was cloned, but deaths aren't always canon. I just put it in as 'heavily injured and suffered amnesia' because I'm not sure how else to portray it.))

With the new lore, isn't it nigh impossible anyways, since the brain gets lobotomize to make it transferable to digital?

This actually gives me the idea for a separate suggestion concerning the library. I'll write it up later today.

A speakeasy. With illegal drugs and smokes. Yes.

Xenoarchaeology has always been a "dangerous" but now that we have gravity, there are a lot more hazards that could be offset by being a little better supplied. 1. Add more metal to the digsite area. 10 sheets isn't enough. It's useful to build lattice bridges to move across the holes. 2. Add foldable ladders so they can move up and down the levels. 3. Access to Jetpacks? 4. Magboots pls. Thnx.

In our real world, cigarettes and alcohol are legal, while marijuana is generally not. Marijuana is technically safer than cigarettes or alcohol, which is quite ironic. Keep in mind the politics involved in making drugs illegal, as opposed to simple health benefits and concerns. It's easier for NT to just 'ban all' and be done with it. On the flipside, if they can profit drug trade (which I bet they can) and give employees methods to grow and cleanse the drugs of harmful side effects, they can look like real progressive people and earn good publicity. What if drugs were used as a reward incentive, and were only legal on the station? Or the opposite, they're all banned to avoid people ODing and crashing their mechs into each other. Lotsa rules are gonna need to be considered to make this happen.

Now I'm gonna need a loredev to answer this as well. My two Echos were once pAIs. However, the way I play them is that that the pAI Echos are a set of programs sent from a main server and uploaded into a pAI. The Echo can then do its pAI duties. Once its recalled to the server, the program is transferred back for assessment and evaluations - as well as repairs for glitches and whatnot. Each program gets made a little differently to give it a sense of individuality. So then a certain Echo program gets kicked out of their server for being too different and cannot be reintegrated back in. That program is uploaded into a positronic brain instead, which has a lot more processing power. It went from the simple life of a pAI, to the complex existence of an IPC. Basically it was synthetic enlightenment.

We could just replace a few of the library shelves with artifacts. Library is pretty spacious on its own. Honestly, I want to see more realistic books written and stored in the library - too much of it is drivel. Adding in some artifacts would give it an air of elegance.

How about ambrosia is illegal unless it's been specially treated to remove the toxins? I recall a botanist did that once.
-
While the station for newmap was built, I'm sure several artifacts were excavated. It would earn NT brownie points, some prestige, and good publicity to have a miniature museum displaying the artifacts. Perhaps even something like a katana for antags to get their hands on. Ninja trying to regain a lost treasure anyone? It could be swapped out each shift, with new artifacts. Small things liek bowls, vases, weapons, or odd machines, as long as it doesn't disrupt the crew by trying to talk to them, or summon evil dark shadows.

Type: Scientific Theory Founding/Settlement Date (if applicable):N/A Region of Space: Everywhere Controlled by (if not a faction): N/A (but everyone knows it's NT) Other Snapshot information : Bluespace Energy – Energy enacted onto a system that manipulates the fabric of spacetime, as opposed to other forms of energy that interacts with particles and concrete masses (Kinetic Energy, Electrical Energy, Thermal Energy, etc. ) Long Description: Laws of Bluespace Energy 1. The sum of all energy enacting on an object converges into Bluespace Energy as the object approaches the speed of light, if and only if the object exhibits a state of superposition. 2. Bluespace Energy allows the distance within a spacetime system to contract, in proportion to the amount of Bluespace Energy within the system. 3. A contraction of distance is matched equally and oppositely by the expansion of a dimple in spacetime. a. The dimple formed is a collapsed two dimensional tunnel. History Bluespace energy is believed to account for the 7% of Dark Energy within the universe. It was discovered by Doctor Samantha Tigard and her team in 2413, while studying the Quantum Mechanical effects of super-imposed particles, and applying time dilations to their equations derived from theories of length contraction. The initial goal was to measure the probability of a resonance cascade – a theoretical concept to occur if an object larger than a particle was forced into a state of super-position while traveling close to the speed of light. What they discovered was that the system would collapse into itself, creating a temporary ‘bubble’ before the bubble depleted its energy source and the system returned to normal. The rim of the bubble resonated microscopic wavelengths. When amplified by scientific equipment to become observable, they were observed within the blue spectrum of visible light – coining the name Bluespace. The energy signature was persistent for repeated tests of the experiment, leading Tigard and her team to conclude that they had discovered a new state of energy. Theories and formulas speculating about Bluespace energy had been published prior to Tigard’s research, from both Skrellian and Human societies, but it had never before been observed and confirmed. Fundamental Basics If an object is traveling close to the speed of light and manages to remain intact, the combined forces of energy enacting on the particle will be transferred to Bluespace energy. The Bluespace energy will bend the spacetime around the mass much in the same way as gravity, creating a collapse and projecting a tunnel around the object. This tunnel is essentially a collapse of space, creating a two-dimensional hole. The distance from Point A to Point B of the traveling body converge and is collapsed to one point, while the tunnel formed pushes out from the point of convergence. The object within the tunnel is then in a state similar to super position, while it is inside the tunnel. However, this temporary collapse cannot be maintained without a continuous supply of energy, for once the Bluespace energy is depleted, the tunnel shrinks and the distance is restored. To maintain the 2-dimensional tunnel, Phoron has proven to be a successful source of energy, as it is currently the only material capable of providing the massive demand to keep a tunnel open. It is also the only way to supply just the right amount of power to accurately pinpoint the entry and exit of a bluespace tunnel. Tunnels and Pocket Dimension A well supported theory suggests that alternate realities exist on the opposite side of the walls of the tunnels. Fluxuations have been spotted for very brief intervals, barely indiscernible in the time it takes to travel the gates. However, when slowed down, strong spikes of energy can be recorded from the other side. A curious phenomenon of the tunnels is their natural ‘bubble’ formation when masses enter the gate. This protective barrier surrounds the object passing through, then disappears as it leaves the tunnels. However, despite its natural formation, precautions are taken to ensure this bubble does not expire while vessels and people travel through – as is a possible scenario. A low emission of bluespace energy around the craft will ensure the bubble will remain intact. Technologies Gateways are well known to be the most reliable source of keeping a bluespace tunnel open, capable of supplying the raw energy necessary from phoron-based engines. They also ensure the entryways of the gateway remain in place, and minimize fluctuations of the tunnel’s rim, keeping it from collapsing. Teleporters work in the same principle as gateways, but instead of having a secured rim, they rely on the natural rim created by the tunnel. This can lead to complications – individuals walking through a teleporter may have their bubble collapse, or they may be ejected out from a different location. Relay devices help anchor the exitpoints, greatly reducing the chance of accidents.

While we're at it, can we install tasers in security units? And needles in medical units. -
Not always. When I checked newmap, no goggles. And there's only 1 pair in robotics.
-
As the title says. Can we include welding goggles to the loadout? When I play my cat Mo'Taki, I roleplay that she dislikes the uncomfortable welding mask, and prefers to use goggles. They're on the same line as security HUDs or medical HUDs - eyewear for your job. They're small, and easy to pack on your way to work. We can add a welding mask in while we're at it. If restrictions has to be made, restrict it to robotics, scientists, and engineers only. A bartender has little reason to carry a pair with him.
