What I suggest should be, in theory, simple to code if someone wishes to take the time to indulge in this concept. We need the ability to make a "hand" of dice like cards allow, with the ability to roll them all together and allow the roll to be concealed so that only the roller knows. Why? Scoundrel Dice. Also known as Lie n' Die, Swindledice and a few other things, it's a lovely dice game that I've been taught by a DnD player, and also was a mini game inside of the Sorcery IOS games. What it is, I will explain, but the point of the game is to make idle talk and attempt swindle people into losing. Scoundrel Dice Rules -Both Players determine a set amount of dice for each hand. Atypically the amount is above or equal to 5. -After the roll, each player takes turns stating the amount of similar dice in both players hands. If the other player believes it to be a lie, they call them. If they lied, they win. If not, the caller loses. -Each time a person states the amount of pairs, and the number (For example, 2 four's.), the next player must make their next guess one above for the number of pairs. (So, perhaps 3 two's.) -Upon loss, either the player loses a dice and the game continues until one player is out of dice, or a round system is used, such as best of three's. To give an example match: Rai Amari Rolls: 5 3 5 1 5 Nikolai Petirosky Rolls: 3 2 5 6 6 Rai Amari Goes First: 2 Fives. Nikolai Petirosky responds: 3 Sixes. Rai Amari responds: 4 Fives. Nikolai Petirosky calls. Four Fives exist, Rai Amari wins. What's the point? Well, it's a good thing to just be doing while RPing, and assists players in attempting to learn more subtle ways to RP, by using cues and such. In theory, at least. As well, it would be fun to play, and allows for another thing to do, along with cards. Obviously, a Die pack would need to be a spawn-able item with, and maybe a few of them sitting in the bar/dorms. Secondarily, differently coloured dice would allow another concept, which is attempting to collect dice. Unless we could somehow set up a secondary code to keep track of who has won what or something, it would mean nothing, but attempting to collect different types of dice is another sub part of the game, if it could be added.

The concept is obvious. We need a item that we can deal medical items in so they aren't jumbling about through disposals or in public eye. Syringes, body parts, chemicals. That sort of stuff. Another option would be multiple bins in medical with a fancy blue design that are not connected to disposals and are meant for that stuff.

Currently, we have an issue that the back cells on the left actually lack any means to RP in, as you'll be out of sight of any other players. Besides for the fact that it means the being arrested loses RP value, it also means that those particular criminals can easily escape, if they have the means. It's dumb. I liked it better when you could see them from the lobby. Or when they were in sight of the Wardens office. I suggest moving them back to where they use to be, and switching the locations of the Evidence storage and holding cell to there. Ignoring the gore, this set up sucks. It sucks butt.

Both this and rev have a basic flaw about the victory condition. If the crew wins, then they'd just find a ERT wiping them out. They have no actual out, or means of escape. Perhaps if the Revs could call a shuttle that would take them elsewhere, then I'd understand more. Or mutineer in this case. But there's no way Nanotrasen "loses". Worst case, they are out a few dozen crew members. Best case, Security guts them turns them into decorative body bags, creating bodyceptions. But yeah, this just seems like it would be Rev but with slightly different Parameters. Eh.

Taina, the issue is that I had made motions to stop this from occurring, because I had no patience for this when I had spent the round watching jackboot do /me about backing up that ass and twerking and random things, and had less patience for someone to break the law to get petty revenge. So it was an event I was trying to stop. I don't know why people keep reading Rai as trying to be a badass. She's twenty pounds overweight and is all snarls and spittle. The most excersize she has gotten recently was attempting to escape an angry grump slime. She hasn't attacked or caused harm to another player since a Traitor tried to grab her and she smacked him and ran into the morgue. I suppose it's one of those things where you're forced to take everything at face value, since the amount of available stimulus is limited, like what she looks like, her posture, voice, and what not. , but Rai isn't trying to be tough. She's just being angry and makings random insults. And the issue is that the HOP has no reason to pretend to be a security officer unless they are under physical threat, thus why the HOP isn't Captain #2. That, and the abuse thing, which a head isn't suppose to do without an actual reason. If he had some reason, this was obvious. The concern is that he also is expected to not break IC rules to get revenge. That's the actual problem. People are saying its loose about that, but it's really not. HOP don't get to be King Hippo. The issue is that a HOP isn't suppose to do this shit, because it's not their job. more so when it's their job. That's the real issue I have, is because there's no way you'd take these actions ICLY, because you'd be fired. and that's stupid. It's not even something that can be role played, as said, because then Houssam and maybe even Rai would be fired. And that's even worse. I Just want jackboot to note that he shouldn't do that shit if he's a HOP. Hell, probably shouldn't do it a Sec officer ether. Mind you, this is getting to be one of those things where I can't win. Like fighting the Smelter Demon with a fire broadsword+3. Since I doubt I'll ever get an actual victory here, I'd rather just use a homeward bone and go to the Gutter. That wasn't an insult. I'm sorry it seemed that way. I meant that it's physically impossible to act objectively 100% in a situation, as people don't work that way, not that I was making a jab at you. And I'd suggest not attempting to cross counter my complaint by bringing up Rai's actions, specifically during another round where the character in question was purposely antagonizing Rai into speaking. And she knew was lying out their butt, so she was attempting to keep them busy while security handled them. And it worked. Sort of. I ain't gonna fall for that. I'll counter your counter. The point of this is that you did shit your not meant to, which if was kept IC would involve the loss of his job, at the least. At the most, Rai'd be taking legal action, had she any love of the legal system. At the least, I'd like you to note that you did shit that wasn't correct, in both OOC and IC. Which is odd because they also have a longer range then an actual flash.

Eh. Cult is too good, if they have time. Eventually it becomes gank fest. Actually, I should clarify that whenever I think of cult, I think of a group of cultists with TK swarming me and an officer as HOS and using TK to murder us with books. That was fucking retarded. In actual rounds, I don't think cultists get that much going for them as antags. Making it harder would probably only serve to make the mode less common. After all, its a mode where if one of the first three goes SSD, you've lost the ability to convert people. which is a problem.

To point out, Nuke Ops can't even win against full crews, about 80% of the time, simply due to their being too many guns. The real issue with any mode that involves this sort of thing is that combat is shit, and comes down to clicks. But, whoever has the most people, or the people with the best stun gear, wins. And the crew has the better gear. Stun batons, Flashbangs, and tasers will still beat the SMG in group combat. Now, the issue is that with a smaller player pool, we have even less chance to get any Security on the crews side, meaning it becomes a literal cakewalk, where the Nuke ops can just hang out in the bar for a bit before nuking everyone. I don't think it will help, but maybe just get some kind of code that restarts the vote if a round doesnt start?

BYOND Key: Nikolai the beast Player Byond Key: Jackboot Reason for complaint: Shorthand, abuse of position, disregard of SOP, threatening actions using that mafia thing, leaving a player in a cell for fifteen minutes without a headset, the only roleplay in that time being him wandering by and insulting Rai, while also assaulting Rai by flashing her repeatedly. Edit: Reason why is because Rai made a passing statement in Siik about Houssam supposedly having a big cock. Previous encounters that shift involved him saying that you can't speak different languages on comms, then arresting Rai, saying she had two warnings when she said one thing in Siik and then stopped, making a comment about a unathi having a nice butt in an attempt to get a reaction from said Unathi. My real complaint isnt the IC actions, but the disregard for his actual post and breaking rules. I know your not suppose to just arrest people because your the HOP and security is SSD, unless the person is an actual threat. If this had any actual validity, then I'd not have cared. Hell, if he had just left me with my headset and did nothing in that fifteen minutes, I'd have just been slightly rustled, would have went back to the rest of the cats and went WHAT A ASSHOLE and continued our RP. But he then shoved me in the back cell without a headset, leaving me without any actual means to RP by use of game mechanic (As, obviously, you can only see about fifty feet around you IC, so I had no ways to convey anything to anyone. He then spend the next fifteen minutes, occasionally wandering by to insult Rai or flash her. Which, you know, straight up against the rules to abuse someone cause you ICLY feel like it. I cannot fucking stand this. I cannot. Mostly because Rai isn't one to be treated like this, and I have no IC way to handle this without being banned. And obviously, at round end, it all means fuck all anyway. Oh, to point out the best part, he implied this was because Rai hadn't apologized, when Rai apologized twice, saying "She has no interrrest in fighting with, Kin" and then sodding apologizing again. I imagine this means he was too busy writing his own text to notice the text around him, which I can understand, but I then restated this fact a third time, to no apparent answer, except a vague threat about finding where I live, and breaking me knee's or something (I may be mixing that with something else I heard that shift)

I feel like the issue here is there's a very fine line between antagonist, and someone who doesn't RP well and just does stupid shit. This is one of those things that gets suggested a billion times, but nobody wants to bother making it work. For obvious reasons, it's REALLY annoying to get it working. Apparently. I'd like it as well, but then you'd just hear Trolololo or some rubbish joke song that gets put on every other shift. The IC concern is that, lacking actual music from this timeframe, we'd only have music that is anywhere from hundreds to thousands of years old. Which doesnt make much sense, honestly. I suppose you could write some lore about the music industry dying, or some thing.

Not only that, but being able to funnel people during emergencies, or also funnel the occasional birdbrain has added use then just being a place to sit while you play Dwarf fortress in another window.

Because the game implies your buckling down, every time. and it sets the point. And your immersion is already slightly broken, so attempting to RP it away doesnt particularly help. /shrug

I feel as if this wouldn't exactly serve much of a function, as few Security will sit there all shift, waiting on the random player to join mid-shift, most of which may not even spawn at the shuttle, now with the new code, which allows you to spawn elsewhere, I'd just see people taking to the pod spawn more often then not. Honestly, You'd need at least two players who can sit there, confined, roleplaying with each other without enough warrant to take somewhere where a random assistant might ask HOW IS BABBY FORMED. And I see that unlikely. We mine as well remove it, and replace it with a secondary security gear room, or some kind of rapid firing dog launching cannon, to be used against the occasional Vox and nuke ops who head that way.
