  1. Why are you rushing someone alone against a person with a lethal weapon? You shouldn't be rushing into those situations. Why aren't you getting lethals of your own if you know someone has a weapon of that caliber? If you are being held hostage by said weapons, why are you fighting a fight you will clearly lose? I don't see how forcegloves would help against any of these except the e-sword, and by default I do not feel a single security officer should win in a 1v1 against an e-sword user without significant preparation. I never said diddle about ME going at them. I said THEM coming at me. Which they do. Secondly, when antags have forcegloves, the point is that they now have dominance over short range combat, because they can just fling you away. You said other things, but I can't be arsed to quote them. But the point is that Antags don't need another way to fuck Sec over in short range. To the RD thing, NO. NO. NO. NO. NOOOOO. We do not need more things under RD that's meant for Sec that Sec will never see. Because I've NEVER seen a lawgiver in a Security Officers hands, (Do not say "But when I am blah blah" because that's a blind argument, as thats you. So stahp.) and I probably never will, I've only seen them in RD's hands. Anything that you can find in RD is almost never seen outside of RD, unless it's a mining drill. I'd rather nobody has this then Antags or RD having it, because then It'll just be another problem for the lack of balance in combat, and Sec being armed like low level riot police when they are atypically handling lunatics with lethal weaponry, magic men who can turn you into a monkey, cultists with blood stupidity, and every wing possessing some way to get better gear then a random Sec Jockie.
  2. One of those is illegal, two of those are negated by sunglasses, another by saying no. In reality, it's baton day all day. and now you can just fling someone away before they baton you. Which is why I am concerned. Because taser won't do it against a Revolver, or crossbow, or E-sword being flung at your face.
  3. You do recognize that Security is heavily weakened without power gaming, right? Hell, half the time they lack a warden or HOS to gear them up, so you find Sec going at Ninja's and Wizards with stun guns and batons. It's why I am so adamant about giving them some more tech, because they've been left behind by the other jobs in term of actual functionality, and they have very few items that can solve concerns that someone else doesn't have a better version of. Specifically, without flashbangs, we mine as well have Security waving their genitals at Nuke ops and Heist rounds, because they would never win in a direct confrontation of Sec vs multiple antag.

    Xenobotany

To clarify Tool, think Venom. Think Symbiote. Creation of a secondary life-form which can function as another item or mechanic. Fleshy labcoats that can turn into a biosuit on the fly, Hardsuit symbiotes that can retract into a wrist watch or something. Things that are actually Sci Fi and cool, and not our usual scrub gear that all seems like we'd have it within the next IRL fifty years. The concept would involve creating one of these lifeforms and submitting it to some kind of modification by putting it in an enviroment while attached to a monkey, and have the symbiote attempt to save the monkey. After it "Adapts", you pull it off the monkey and it can be given to whoever could use it.
  6. I should probably clarify that all I wanted was these without the damage buff, as they'd give sec something to use beside flash cuffs. Because I'll repeat myself a billion times.
  7. I immediately have become bored and depressed concerning these. Because now they'll just be another way antags will be robusting about The station, allowing them to easily beat the shit out of sec. Considering that Sec is only best when in close quarters combat, since that's the only time you can 100% know they will have some tech to actually handle that (as anyone who tries to argue that Sec truly has access to the vault hasn't played a shift where sec couldn't even get in) having a way to fling them away means that they won't even have that anymore. All hope is lost. Abandon station. Time to make Sec characters into engineers and bartenders. edit: added gif that suits my mood towards everyone wanting to give Antags and ERT more things that will make them as godly as a Mage in DS1.
  8. The issue is that: A) Sec has few fun items, and lack any real interesting means to solve combat situations B) this would just be another way to handle Melee confrontations, it wouldn't increase their power unless you gave them the damage buff C) if RD has them Sec will never see these in a billion years. Just give sec some toys. This would let people approach combat with more variation then BATON CUFF PULL.
  9. +1 due to being blackmailed. Long haul our overlord.
  10. For the love of God don't let this die. I'd like to see sec with new toys pretty badly.
  11. I've seen in happen five times. Each time they start taking toxin damage from the OD, but the Clonex kills it. but if you take them out, they keep taking the toxin damage, depending on whats in their blood at the time. I know it's that, or something with Cryodone and Alkysine, because people start taking toxins damage when they've unrelated wounds and none were infected, and I have nearly no means to stop it. It also seems to stack with infected wounds, as they begin taking the damage like they were eating radium before I shoved them in. Just because you don't see the damage doesn't mean it ain't happening. I'm positive you can OD on something in the usual mix people seem so fond of (20 Clonex, 20 Cryo, 10 Alkysine). and I doubt it's the clonex and cryo.
  12. I geniunely cannot grasp why the fuck people keep saying order them from cargo, when that's a variable to a thing which we need as cats and lizards. An engi without insulated gloves is just an assistant in a hardsuit. Surgery becomes a magical adventure in toxins when you don't have latex gloves. And our solution is putting fucking holes in the things which are meant to stop the thing from getting in or out of the glove. It's like having a condom with no end because- My point stands.
  13. Eh. I've seen too many ends of rounds with someone who ate a lawgiver due to an argument or some antag choice. It's not pleasant. I'd just suggest having boxes on the Top-Tier weapons that have actual threat, not some crummy protopistol. Lawgiver, Laser Cannon, that shiz, with RD access or above, such as HOS, HOP and cap. That way, you can research weapons, but not have some random ijit whose made a lawgiver and is waiting to robust the antagonist.
  14. I recall accidently finding the shuttle, realizing what it was ICLY, and detonating all of their bombs on the ship while they were away. They ended up getting away from Sec, to only find their nearly entirely destroyed ship without a nav console. /Sighs good times. But onto the this, It wouldn't HURT anything to have them, but their use would be limited at best. You could just set a real bomb to have a really long ass timer and leave it at that. If we were to add this, I'd give it a twist by having it animate a little F raise out of the top, then have a sound effect of a automated voice saying "Fuck".
  15. Yes. I do. Then why not Taj gloves instead of mangles?
  16. Yeah, that's what I was thinking about afterwards; Sec is really weak in long range sorties, and they lack much in the way of cool sci-fi tech things. These would just be some means for them to at least have one neat thing. At that, if grabs could be more functional we could more easily subdue the average cockwaffle whose doing the tango with a wrench.
  17. Oh, upon further thought, I'd not add the weapon damage multiplier at all to a standard sec version, or make it 5%. HOS version should only be 20% due to the baton ripping people apart already.
  18. No one wants to fucking order the gloves. Because cargo doesn't always exist and they should have them in the first place. That's the point, maaaaaaan. I don't want a maybe access to gloves that make sense. I'm using these for touching wires and performing surgery, they shouldn't have holes in the fingertips.
  19. People seem to love to imply that Sec has access to the vault all the time. Which is funny, because without someone's to open it, the vault mine as well be full of cat ears and bikini's, for all the "fucking" help it gives them. Really, sec being able to launch some bastard away whose got stun gloves would be nice. While the fact that we as players can't just have our character be physically stronger then the average scientist due to everyone yelling OMFG TRAINED SEC MAN IS STRONGER THEN ME, SNOWFLAKE BLAH BLAH, I'd like to see sec have a way to constantly win these stupid fucking dash fights where someone does the charleston all over to try and avoid being clicked while trying to hit you with a crowbar. I don't understand why we must keep giving Science the weapon gear. Research is dumb as is, because we spend every shift making up these items and everyone clearly knows what they are. More to the point, when we added lawgivers I was so vehement and convinced that we'd be seeing them in every scientists hands. But no, no one gives a shit. And no one will give a shit to make these except to play with them by themselves. Sec would never see a single one of these in 9/10 rounds (by all means say how YOU do it, honest guys, because that's relevant.) I honestly didn't like the idea upon initial thought, but my brain clicked when I realized it would make sec slightly more advanced and interesting then what they are currently as absolutely garbage on a technical standpoint. These should be standard issue, they don't even sound better then a Stun Baton. Oh, make them Tajara and Unathi capable. I don't wanna none of that watch shenanigans.
  20. Stahp. They are fine. They aren't even hard to negate. The HOS with a dermal plate and huds can't even be downed for longer then a few seconds, and anyone in a hard suit has the same blessing. We don't need to bugger with them or make them less available, they are the only AOE tactic sec has for handling crowds. Making them less effective makes them worthless, and making them completely negated by hard suits make them become the sunglasses of today And as a point, if you're not aware, a flash (I mean the green dildo thing) causes your brain to overload. That's why you fall over. It's the same reason why deer get caught in headlights, because sudden bright light buggers the brain like a suave lover. Not sure if anyone clarified this, just wanted to toss this here.
  21. A playable race that just absorbs another player, that sounds kinda awful all over the board, unless they are spawned as a race with the mushroom bits. Even then, it implies that the fungi essentially killed someone, and I doubt you'd want that aboard anyway.
  22. You know that Tajara gloves are just in the code, right? A specific version, not just mangled.
  23. The thing is, nobody uses borers anymore cause they are shit. They are slow, easily killed, and lack any real threat once you ICLY recognize what they are. Making them mushrooms would just make them more or less the same issue but with people now spacing themselves. Need I remind that they were intended to replace the Meme antagonist, which was also a massive failure.

    Telescience change

I don't even like Telescience. It's just a bad idea because it's too good no matter the cost. Bluespace teleportation was already pretty good even with the occasional being flung into space, but even if it had the same effect, then it would make Telescience less functional or useful. If there was a damage issue, they'd just scoop up Bicardine and what have you. I'd just scrap it (with genetics) and make another thing. But I hate a lot of the science wings. So I'm not very helpful.
  25. I don't know what kind of artists you've been dealing with, most I know wouldn't give a shit and just draw the furry stuff anyway (if they knew how to, some people can draw humans just fine but have a problem sticking cat faces on them somehow). Alternatively, just say you're a furry. I don't think any furry artists run a sort of "honor check" where they have to ensure you're a furry before drawing you any art, so I'm going to presume it's your own fault for intently specifying you're not a furry as you request these commissions, which yes, is a bit weird. Yep. It seems like there is something Nik is leaving out about the interactions. The thing is that I'm like a deer and I'm easily startled. So I just give up quickly. Pls no deer furries.
