I played as a HoP in a round with him. He was a perfectly fine officer, but he just failed at communication. I feel he should take a bit of time to like.. get better at communicating. An RD joined a bit in to the round, and he basically completely ignored them the entire time. Even though, yeah, That's a reasonably large issue, he's still a pretty good HoS, so get's a +1 in my books. -
I've played frankly rather extensively with Imran while his trial is going on, and I remember at least a bit about his previous character listed. He's a very competent CE, and good roleplayer. It also helps that we seem to play at about the same times, so I can see him a lot. Lots of rounds we're the only two members of command. A rather definitive +1 from me.

The pure humor of your application made me contemplate just giving you a plus one before I even got halfway down. I just have to say, Pewter is a fantastic character with pro's and cons, and it makes him feel more like a three dimensional character, instead of a perfect god. I'm likely actually going to use some of those ideas to make more rounded characters. As a cadet that's worked with him, and a forensic technician that threw him a birthday party, I feel I've interacted with him enough to say, He'd do great in command. +1 -

I've seen Travis a reasonable amount, and they seem suited for the command whitelist in my opinion. +1 -
BYOND key: steviii Character names: Command: Amanda Prince, Jarred McLellan. Normal: Andrew Robertson, Amelia Karrith, Chris Dobson, Josephine Pearce, T.E.R.A, A.P.E.X, Flynn Cassidy. How long have you been playing on Aurora?: 2-ish years Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: In my opinion, command just opens up a sheer quantity of opportunities for RP that’s unprecedented by anything else. Things like communicating about what to do in an antagonist round, or organizing pool parties in a slow extended round. Why did you come to Aurora?: I wanted something that was high quality and high roleplay. I started out playing on bee, and I still have vivid nightmares about it. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they?: I think my only permanent note was when I was trying to communicate something OOC in binary chat. It was before LOOC was added for synthetics. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is about putting yourself in to another body and interacting with everyone inside of that world how your player would. Roleplay is amazing as an escape from reality, or just a way to play as something other than yourself. I play roleplay games cause it allows me to connect with other people and play in a virtual world as anything I want. (Within the limitations of the program, obviously.) What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, in-game?: a member of commands job is to act as a guiding hand for a department. They’re in charge of various things, like Teaching new players in absence of another person to teach them, Making sure rounds don’t drag on by doing things like calling beacons and evac shuttles, communicating with each other to make antag rounds more interesting for everyone. A good command member should act as a shining beacon of what to be. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: A whitelisted persons job OOC is to act as a competent beacon to new players and pro’s alike. They’re in charge of making the whole whitelisted playerbase Look good. Obviously a member of command shouldn’t be griefing the station, as it would, one, break the rules, and two, shine a bad light on the command as a whole and likely scare away some players from being interested in aurora, or the whitelist. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau Ceti and how it affected your character and their career? My intended character, Jarred McLellan: As a solarian consular, the more intricate politics of Tau Ceti are not as important, since he both lives, and normally works outside of Tau Ceti space. The main things that affect his career are things like the situation with the invasion of frost, as it caused him to flee from Tau Ceti for a year amid interstellar backlash. With the events of the crisis in little adhomai, Jarred has since grown a slight distaste for tajarans. He tries to keep it out of his work as much as he can, so he doesn’t get fired for xenophobia. (except he’d probably get promoted) What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted?: Likely everything other than CE, RD and CMO, at-least once. The main ones will be HOS, HOP and Representative, Sol specifically. I want to play representative cause I really feel that no one ever plays it, especially as Sol. I’ve in my two years of playing, likely seen a solarian rep once. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: Solarian consular officer, Jarred McLellan HoS, un-decided. HoP, un-decided. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: Probably a 7-9. I get a bit worse on certain days, especially if I’m tired or otherwise distracted. I've gotten a few people saying I'm better at roleplaying on certain characters, like my bartender, as I'm a lot more solitary and less good at roleplay on things like forensics and robotics. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes. I’m hoping that will never happen though. but if it does happen I will absolute accept it and not make a fuss or anything. Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes, less so for HoP, as I last read it a few months ago, but I simply have to read up on it again. Extra notes: yes, for anyone wandering, I did accidentally post this without any of the answers, cause I’m an inept moron.

I've seen ruul a few times, and they'll forever stick in my mind as that annoying atmos tech that makes you think they're a wizard. I like when someone's character sticks in my mind, and I personally feel you'd be able to roleplay a command character very well. (Especially since you have experience) so, +1 -
BYOND key: steviii Character names: Amelia Karrith, Chris Dobson, William Johannson, Jaxon Butler, T.E.R.A, A.P.E.X, Jasmine/Josehine Pearce (I changed their name.) How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Joined around 2017. (I think. didnt keep track.) Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I really only play service, and havent seen that many HoP's. I see the ones we have plenty, but I only see two or three HoP's. I feel like another atleast semi competent HoP would be a good idea, so I hope to be able to fit the build. Why did you come to Aurora?: I started playing ss13 on low and medi rp servers, but after a bit I got really bored and quit. My friend then showed me aurorastation, so I started playing that instead. Have barely even gone back to Low and Medi rp since. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Verbal warnings, and a written warning, but nothing that serious. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is when someone controls a character in a virtual enviroment. Be it a video game, text or a tabletop game. the player controls their character, and decides their movements, emotions, interactions, etc. I also personally believe that roleplay should be about everyone having fun. It shouldnt keep going if no-ones having fun, as it just becomes a chore. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Show an example of command, and help keep people interested in playing the round. be warm and inviting, and make sure they dont bugger off to join the revolutionaries the second they get slightly bored. Act as the link between departments like cargo and civillian, to keep your men/women/froggy bois informed. Teach new comers what to do, etc, etc. Really just make sure everyone knows whats happenings, how to do their job, and make sure everyones happy. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: A member of command is someone who teaches people what to do, and who shows new players to the server that this is HRP. A head of a department can suspend you for doing drugs, or shanking a security officer, with a crowbar you stole from engineering the last time you were over there. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? Tau ceti left the Sol alliance, and has since been a vague safehaven for aliens. Ipc's are starting to be more accepted, but still have a vague stigma and hatred around them from a lot of people (Dominians, Skrell.) Tau ceti is now (atleast partly) seen as a religious, and racial safehaven. Alyssia is a solarian, and therefore has had some issues. She had to sadly invalidate her Solarian citizenship to work on the NSS Aurora. She's perfectly fine with all the rest of tau ceti though, and thinks its a brilliant civilization. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? HoP Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: Alyssia Wright, HoP How would you rate your own roleplaying?: maybe 7-8/10 Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? I do, and I am perfectly fine with it being stripped if I am not good enough at my role. Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Extensively. Extra notes: I dont know if I did the OOC parts right, so please tell me if I didnt. I also may of missed a thing or two, as I procrastinated HEAVILY finishing this.

Personally from my one interaction with Katapharcts, I fucking loved em. I like the concept of a knight ERT, and feel it should stay unwhitelisted.

He moved to tau ceti for job opportunity, And that his friends were going, so he felt it would be an interesting next chapter of his life. The rebels that fought against glorsh in his 'rule' and like the whole sterilization and distrust of synthetics And I'm not sure, wiki doesn't say. I'd guess similar to insulted, and the skrell may cry and speak slower? I don't know. -

BYOND Key: steviii Character Names: Amelia Karrith, Wilson Johannson, T.E.R.A, A.P.E.X. Species you are applying to play: Skrell What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Very light blue, bordering on white Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. And also most sub-pages Why do you wish to play this specific race: A number of reasons. I personally think Skrell are the ideal race, cause of the interesting RP mechanics of the skrell rebellion, and the fact they're amphibious. There planets are very interesting in my opinion, and the general political climate of the Jargon Federation interests me. I personally like the fact that they generally dislike synthetics, because it will provide an interesting RP mechanic. Like, a skrell would be suspicious of an AI or cyborg, cause of the whole sterilisation thing. The military is also very interesting in the way they dislike copious quantities of bloodshed, and prefer to simply cripple the opponent enough to be able to take them over/disable them completely Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Gameplay: Skrell have a number of interesting gameplay mechanics. Nlom, the whole amphibian thing, the lack of teeth, the inability to slip, etc. So really, they’re not insanely different from humans, but still different enough to be an interesting experience to play Lore: The totalitarian-ism of Jargon, The whole idolizing of good scientists and doctors, the fact they look basically emotionless to ignorant humans, polyamory and general intrigue of their society. Also the whole listener and receiver thing, that's pretty cool. It is less of a roleplay aspect, but it still is a difference between the two races OOC. Character Name: Purrish'kaquil Qxiksis Please provide a short backstory for this character: Young life: Purrish was born in 2333, and is now 128. He was born on Aliose to a rather small union of parents. Vesh-Kaaxi Ishus, Gallish Vullish and Qual’Quell Qool. Qual’Quell had beakmouth, and it interested Purrish so much he decided he wanted to dedicate his life to general study of medical practice and science. Purrish did the normal 19 years of kindergarten, and mostly aced it. He then went off to Aliose University of Medical Sciences, or Aliose uni for short, and that started his mid life. Vesh-Kaaxi was a Xenobiologist, Gallish Vullish was a scientist and Qual’Quell was a Pharmacist. In Purrish’s young life, he swapped slightly between the idea of being a researcher and a medical doctor, but eventually decided he wanted to help with the research and treatment of birth disorders and general diseases. Throughout his entire childhood, his parents were generally very protective, but not overbearing. He had a safe childhood on Aliose. Mid life: He trained for 30 years to gain the equivalent of a PhD in Medical Science, Genetics and chemistry. He took a hobby in Rapid response tactics, to provide a broad general knowledge across the entirety of medical fields. He always enjoyed medical practice, and thought of university as less of a chore to get a good job, and more of a fun activity with bonuses at the end. He moved out of Aliose at the age of 52, to live in Tau Ceti Space. Another large part of the reason he moved out was cause his best friends were all moving to mendell city, and he wanted to continue that friendship. It took a long while to get his citizenship in Tau Ceti space, cause of stigma of Skrell being good friends of sol, blah blah blah. That's not very interesting unless you want to hear about the process of a skrell getting a visa. Current life: He currently lives in a small apartment (with pool, cause duh) in Mendell City, and currently works as a medical doctor on the N.S.S Aurora. Before the aurora he worked in a hospital, and got a reputation in the local area as a rather good doctor. His parents are still alive and reasonably proud of him. To this day he is rather homesick, and misses his parents often. What do you like about this character? I rather like medical, and I’ve never played a race that isn't human, or nearly identical to humans with a few small changes (Off worlder) so I feel like playing as a skrell medical doctor could be an interesting venture. I have never played medical doctor before, opting instead to play as a chemist or paramedic as my main entry in to the whole medical field. I also like how he’s a reasonably reclusive character, with only a small group of friends, which will allow for relationships and friendships to blossom in roleplay. I feel like since he’s so ‘old’ but also so young, he’ll be an interesting character to play. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Id probably rate my skills as about a 6.5. I know how to adapt to most situations (say, an admin bans someone/winds them and we need to completely avoid them, or if someone asks us to void something) and I think I can probably pull of a skrell with reasonable ease. But obviously I’ll have problems cause that's just human nature, but I hope to increase my skills by playing skrell and generally expanding my horizons. Notes: I don't play APEX, I play A.P.E.X. completely unrelated. Also thanks to a friend for all the names, because I simply couldn't comprehend skrell naming schemes.
