BREAKING NEWS! Silaris Uaekis, one of the Commanders of the Security Force in NSS Aurora. Recently was involved in an intrusion into his home where he was brutally attacked by unknown intruders trying to gain confidential information since his job employment consists of carrying valuable security information. In that attack he took a shot through the mouth by a lethal energy carbine carried by the unknown intruders. In doing so Biesel police were called to his apartment in which the intruders escaped failing their attempt to kidnap Silaris Uaekis. He is currently going through surgery and might have to live with a permanent metal respirator like mouth piece. We have information that the shot burned most of his lower mouth area. He requires the respirator to support his breathing abilities. We have yet to get all of the information, this is all Biesel authorities will give us so far. Contacts to family will be made as this is a tragic event. Biesel authorities are working harder to implement more officers in areas that house valuable personnel to prevent intrusions like this any further by terrorists.

BYOND Key:Prospekt1559 Character name:Silaris Uaekis Item name: Silaris's Metal Respirator. Why is your character carrying said item to work? It supports his ability to breath the air since he was shot in the lower mouth area burning the mouth area almost off. BREAKING NEWS! Item function(s): It's only function is to allow Silaris to breath, if taken off (I'll either rp it or if it can be coded, that would be great) he slowly suffocates since it supports his ability to breath. Item description: A tightly secured black metal mask that makes a slow breathing noise. When talked through his/her voice is muffled very slightly. Item appearance: For reference, I know it's a little snowflakey but this is a reference to what it's going to look like or what I hope for it to look like since it's the best way to really describe it. http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/0/04/MalgusHS-Render.jpg Additional comments: This is purely to get roleplay out of, I like the disadvantage to it with him not being able to breath if taken off/ripped off. It's something I can further my story into and get a lot of roleplay out of most likely.

Fuck I posted this in projects.. God damnit.

It'd be nice if we got more customization for IPCs like screens, antennas, etc. If someone can sprite it, It'd be awesome. A lot of IPCs look really pretty much the same to me, of course there's going to be those "but meh snowflakes!" but still it'd be nice to see a more variety of customization on an IPCs look than what we have now. I have assumptions that it'll provide more unique IPC character. Anyway if someone can get examples because I can't sprite for shit, that would be awesome.

Bump for the sake of it being so long.

Pyrotechnics2 Head whitelist attempt #4
Prospekt replied to Pyrotechnics's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Okay. Well.. Pyro I hate to say it but it's just one of those times where you have to start from scratch. It seems to me that Jack O'Keefe has a really bad rep. Alongside that I feel that you need to improve with having a responsibility in a job before going ahead and trying to lead one. Until you fix these problems like Blue said, I can't support this application, nor do I really want to. I'd say start a character from scratch, build a reputation, don't abuse your job, and you are golden, sorry friend. -1. -
Name:Je'rian Mo'Taki Relationship to IC Mo'Taki members:Cousin Already have Tajara Whitelist? Yes. Job position you'll be applying for?: Shaft Miner. Troublemaker with the spesslaw? (totally fine if you are) Yes/No. It depends on the situation. Short summary of your character: (You're family! It's a given that every Mo'Taki already know you before you step on station.) Je'rian, being a miner grew up mining in the cold mountains of Adhomai close to the nearby clan village of Mo'Taki where he grew up in as a proud member of the clan. After gaining plenty of experience within mining, he noticed that job openings were appearing within a company called Nanotrasen. Eager to expand his experience and join his fellow cousins, uncles, etc. In the space stations provided by Nanotrasen, he quickly signed up sent an application and was accepted for employment as a miner. Though, EVA mining was fairly new to him he had his practice in EVA courses in which he took through his employment before being put in an actual station. Mining on an asteroid, quite exciting, this was another motivation to the others.

I'd feel like crap, honestly. I'm with sue on this. There is on reason for people to be treating sue like this at all. You know what, it's really sad. You know who you are if you do this to sue. That's really messed up, if I find out who has done this your losing all respect I have for you and I doubt you'd ever get it back. That's really screwed up. Honestly we should start getting rid of people who harass and bully, yes bully it's called cyber-bullying sure you can close your computer or whatever but not when it's a game you like to have fun in but is ruined by assholes. If you see people do this, report them, I doubt staff will leak your name. And if I become moderator, expect a good stop to any bullshit with this. I'm have a strict 0 tolerable rule when it comes to harassing other players. edit: Let alone, people will get tired of this and just leave. Look at Seven_Ghost, sure it wasn't for this reason but if you aren't careful soon enough no one will want to put up with this.

I'm not taking any sides in this, I'm not going to point fingers at specific individuals. The only fingers I'm going to point is all of my 100 fingers pointed towards everyone. This is what I mean, what happened to the co-operation between the /WHOLE/ community that I saw when I first joined? Why does this have to turn into a silly teenage high school soap opera? Okay yes, you earned your pretty points, you can go back to normal now you are popular. Do I need to say that you are Queen of the Drama? Quit attacking people like this is a wild jungle, I believe you are all mature enough to figure out that you are a community. Do I need to link the definition of a community and show you that a community only stays a community by working together? It's not rocket science, you will fail if you keep up the drama. This is a lose, lose situation. There is no winner. If you want to go earn pretty points go start saying irrelevant junk at 4chan under your anonymous profile. I won't put up with this bullshit, friends. It's ridiculous and needs to stop, thank you. p.s i still love you guys

If you see one of those huge spiders, say "Spider clan sent me bitch." then stomp on it's face.

I really don't know what happened. Sorry to put it this way but it seems like we're playing EveryoneIsOnTheBigDot13. It really upsets me to see how eager people are to complain and possibly ruin someones relation with the server and/or their reputation. Seriously it's not cool at all. Ruining someone else for your own self benefit is really, really, selfish. What happened to the community that worked together through problems, when I came around. The complaint subforum was empty most of the time, maybe 1 or 2 complaints. Now it's full of garbage that is more minor than anything. There is absolutely no need to complain unless it's major. If you need to vent and complain go to an open field and just scream like hell until you are not angry then come back. This is a game meant for fun not stress, being angry, ruining people. Let me ask a question, why are you here? Why do you play SS13? Please answer, I really want to know so I can prove my point. Like Frances said, you guys need to calm down. It's just a game.

Hell yay. It's time we need a revamp of our security clothing. The blue security style thread slowly drowned in the pool of inactiveness so I think this would be definitely good to add a more unique look to security. Along side, if you don't like the hat, don't wear it. Simple as that. It's personal preference.

Voltage you and your characters always bring a smile to my face with the pleasant comedic side to them. I'd love to see you given a shot at being a moderator. But one thing, you have to follow rule #19b~~2: Don't be Voltage. It's a bannable offense.

Prospekt's Moderator Application.
Prospekt replied to Prospekt's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
Honestly if someone is insulting me I take it quite oppositely as anger. Instead I'd honestly from a player perspective let them vent off on me before they get normal again then deal with the situation at hand. But if it needs to be done now, it needs to be done now. I have my experience as a moderator and I've learned a few things. I see SS13 as a game, nothing more, nothing less. It's not something that I get worked up on, so I don't see it as a stressful game no matter the problems. I don't really see myself getting angry at all at the game or in any of my moderation experiences. -
I'd love to see, secret containing every game mode possibility when voted for. Instead of just extended, wizard, traitor, changling, etc. Secret is basically randomizing all of the gamemodes or should be. You are technically voting for a randomized gamemode which is secret to you so you don't know it. It'd be nice to include nuke ops and everything else in it so you actually don't know if a nuke ops is coming or if there is a cult or if there is a ninja, etc.

We need a draft for the bar instead of the booze-o-mat.

BYOND Key: Prospekt1559 Character Names: Odanu Adanutha(Not played anymore), Silaris Uaekis, EPSiLON, & Prometheus. How long have you been playing on Aurora:About a year. Species you are applying to play: Tajara. What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Blue-grey Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes, indeed I have. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race:I wish to play this species because it is fascinating, but not only that I'd like to further my RP capabilities from whitelist to whitelist so I'm not stuck doing one thing. It'd be nice to create a Tajara character, I've observed them for quite some time now and I've decided to make an application for it. I like Tajara like I like my Unathi. They have a great lore backstory rending from their Renaissance period to human contact, I like it all. After doing some reading I wanted to apply immediately so here I am applying for Tajara. I've always grown to like other alien races more than humans, they give a more distinct feel with roleplay. They're more unique per say, you tend to get more roleplay out of them no matter what the circumstance; at least that's how I feel. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: What's different between roleplaying a Human and a Tajara. They are very different, from looks to how they speak. Humans speak more fluent english when Tajara tend to have a different speech pattern. Not only that, they have a different life style which could very much so impact on how roleplay is done. How roleplay is does in that way you might ask? Well, when you have two different cultures, Human's Culture and Tajara's Culture. They most likely aren't the same, in fact they are different. Earth and Adhomai are different. The way they are used to dressing is most likely carried over to the station, the way they are used to acting, eating, speaking, moving, etc. Are different. Character Name: Hamza Ha'ik Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs 2433, Prologue. Today is the year Hamza Ha'ik was born, born into the freezing planet of Adhomai. A few years after the uprising when the age was going into repair of what happened. Born in a high mountain looking over a village below in a cottage. By the age of 6 his father began teaching him what it's like to be Zhan-Khazan. The mountain in which he was born, he lived in till about the age of 17 before his parents allowed him to set off for a new home where he can use what his father taught him. Hamza settled in a village which was hidden in a vast forest region. This village ascended into a mountain which was home to mining ores and minerals for the villages' population to make all sorts of tools. With that he learned early on his job future. Start and end. Adhomai had started advancing once more, recovering from what had been lost. They advanced with the assistance of other non-native races. Along with Sol Alliance's involvement. A more bright future for Hamza appeared with Sol Alliance shuttling out Tajara for new job opportunities. He sought out said shuttles, bringing every bit of memory with him. But before so, he sent out a letter to his dearest parents up in the mountains in high hopes it would make it there. Hamza reached the day of evolving from the poor tools that had been provided for him to work for his village. Being shuttled out to Tau Ceti where he contacted multiple job employments under job requirements for a Miner. Hamza needed better pay, he could send out this money to his parents and village to help them. He quickly studied the basic language required for his job. NT advertisements were growing and spreading around all of the home systems and stations. A lot of which departments for NT recruitment were stationed around. With this easy access, our Tajara sought out these stationed departments. Approaching one on a Hub Station home to a large quantity of Xeno Races. With the knowledge he learned he quickly signed the waiver submitting it. Hamza was later on accepted for the job employment, he signed his contract and awaited his next contact with NT command for his assignment to a station. About a week later, he had written another letter to his parents and sent it down to Adhomai to be sent to his parents. He hadn't gotten a response the whole time he had been away from Adhomai, he was worried but that day he received a documentation which he quickly opened. "You're assigned to NSS Aurora. You have been accepted as a Miner t mine on the asteroids it is orbiting and have settled on. You're passes are included in this message for a free shuttle over to NSS Odin to prepare for your next shift aboard your assigned station. - NT Command.". He quickly folded the letter sliding it into his leather bag. Scurrying to his room to eat dinner before sleeping so he can prepare for the big day tomorrow. Hamza finally made it where he could pay for his village and parents, only if he knew if his parents were still out there. The next day, he packed his things into a large pouch then headed over to the departures wing where he turned in his passport and ticket for NSS Odin. He received a nod and was searched before given the approval to pass on to the shuttle where he put his bag in one of the compartments then plopped down in his seat buckling in. End. What do you like about this character? What I like about this character is his hopes to finally afford to assist in his parents into a new home if they are still alive. Along with excelling his village. I've always liked everyone of my characters, I have a lot to say about them a good backstory. This is the longest backstory since Silaris Uaekis that I wrote. Hamza is a simple miner looking for a good pay, taught by his father to work as a Zhan-Khazan. He's one of those hard workers looking for a life not only for himself but for the ones he cares about. I believe I can make a lot out of him also. I only wrote up to his entrance to Odin because I'd like to create his story on server instead of setting it in stone. I want to evolve him into something more which I believe is possible and would be very fun and enjoyable on this character. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 8/10 judging from my experience with roleplay through the many years I've partaken in it. Notes:Thank you for reading my application, I really enjoyed making this back story.

// If you do decide to go after someone and take them alive or just end up killing them then telling me their bounty will come off the list. The only reason Houssam has a 700K bounty is because you know Houssam.. He kinda runs an organization with Jawdat. I thought it'd be interesting to see how this would play out for a second time.

Basic Information Byond Account:Prospekt1559 Character Name(s): Silaris Uaekis, Odanu Adanutha, EPSiLON, Prometheus. (The rest are just junk characters that I NEVER use. If I could, I'd delete them). AI Name(s): N/A Preferred means of contact: Steam (Scully), Forums(Prospekt), Skype(scu11y3000/Scully). Age: 15 Timezone: EST/ GMT -5 When are you on Aurora?: Around 2-3PM on weekdays after I'm done with school. It could vary sometimes though, but I'm mostly on till 9PM. Experience I've had many experience in the field of Moderation, though not in SS13. Many have been games outside of SS13, such as Garry's mod where I was an operator for a highly populated serious RP HL2RP server; Lemonpunch. That lasted about a year before I resigned because I started getting into SS13 a lot. Most of my experience has come from other games, though I'm familiarized already with how Moderation tools work in SS13, (I'm a Wiki-Nerd). How long have you played SS13?: About a year and a half, I started on a few servers that are most likely dead now before I came to this one and settled here. How long have you played on Aurora: I used to play on my old account, Scu11y3000. I don't use that anymore, mainly for forgetting my password, etc. That lasted about half a year before I came back and played once again on this account. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: I'd say I'm up to par on the mechanics, I made sure I read Bay's wiki a lot so that I know what I'm doing in SS13 from job to job. I don't know all of it, but I believe that I know a good quantity of the mechanics and how they run. I'm also starting to learn how to code in byond and SS13 itself. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: No I do not, though I'm pretty sure I'll catch on quick since I have plenty of experience from games outside of SS13. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: I was banned from Goonstation for a week. I was playing the role boxer and decided to challenge a man to a fight, I punched him a couple times before he pulled a razor blade on me. He stabbed me a few before I could disarm him and chase him down to medical. Then I began to stab him repetitively, thus killing him. Personality Why do you play SS13?: It's the only free Sci-fi game that holds my interest, especially when it has the potential to harness serious roleplay servers like Aurora. I like pixelated games also, such as minecraft, etc. Games that people can build off of are something that I've always followed, such as this. It's a game that brings a lot of different kinds of developers, such as Coders, Spriters, Mappers, etc. Why do you play on Aurora?: I play on Aurora because it was the first Heavy RP server to have a really good community, Aurora has the best non-biased staff team I've yet to see on any other SS13 servers. The players here are great with coming up with new ideas and communicating in a way that isn't just drama, drama, drama; atleast for OOC heh. The potential here is great, the way things run are very smooth which is another reason which keeps bringing me back to Aurora rather than any other server out there. What do moderators do?: Moderators are the part of the staff team which handle player-based problems. These problems vary from, rule breakers (Griefers, etc.) to simply a player having a question. They are here to make sure things don't fall apart. From my understanding of how staff work on servers moderators are where staff begins with handling problems with players. I'd assume moderators are mostly the ones that deal with the average day-to-day issues that need to be solved. The moderating team also oversee chat, to make sure everything is PG-13, no spamming, advertising other servers, basically the simplicity of the average rules stated here in Aurora. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: What does it mean? Well, to be a moderator for Aurora means a lot really. You are the sense of protection when it comes to tedious rule-breakers. To be a moderator here means you're probably one of the most helpful and co-operative staff in SS13. Not only are they helpful and co-operative, they have a good attitude. I've yet to see anyone from this staff team break into a fit against another player. Anything problematic with a staff team is non-existent here. It'd be an awesome experiencing to be a part of this staff team as a moderator. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I want to be a moderator so I can finally get the big shot at helping around. Not only that but when I get on at dead-hour, I feel that there are more moderators needed. Because if something happens when no moderators are around or admins then it's way more tedious to find out what happened from my understandings. I've always tended to lean towards an administrative side with servers and applied for the staff team. My main reasoning for wanting to become a moderator would have to be because this server is too darn good to have those sort of people who break rules ruin roleplay for others. I'd love to help people here in Aurora, like I said you guys have the best playerbase I've seen in a while from any other server. Which is why, I'm putting my efforts into writing this moderator application today. So, I hope you consider me and I thank you for reading why I wish to become a part of this fabulous staff team. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I'd have to say one of the qualities I possess is learning not to be biased towards players. I stick towards a really strong honor-system. I believe that if you truly make a mistake, you should own up to it; it makes life more easier. I'd have to say I believe hostility should be a last resort for anyone, there's always a way to defuse a hostile situation with someone. If you keep a calm nice tone with someone you are most likely going to get a better response rather than cursing at them and insulting them and yelling garbage. That's one of the qualities I believe would help a lot to being a good moderator and I'm glad I have that mindset. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: If I'm stressed or angry, it's most likely why I'm playing this game because it just makes it all go away. If I'm insulted, I really don't care that much, words are words. Anything Else You Want to Add: (Do not put words here) I'd like to add that I'm thankful for your participation in reading my application. I hope you consider me to be a part of your staff team, thank you.

I'd enjoy a station on Mars, that would be nice. If not an idea for atmosphere on this map would be a super cooled planet. When exposed to outside without proper EVA you basically start freezing to death. Mars would be a nice colonized map though. edit: We'd have to revamp how antags like syndies fly along with vox.

Add the corn pipe to the custom load out, kinda like cigar case except now you can have a pipe, yaya?

BYOND key:Prospekt1559 Character names:Odanu Adanutha, Silaris Uaekis, EPSiLON, and Prometheus. How long have you been playing on Aurora?: Around half a year or so, I joined on an old account which I forgot the password and username n' such. So I came back on this one. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I wish to be on the whitelist because, I feel the need to produce more roleplay out there on the station and I feel that being a head of staff would promote that. I've gotten comfortable here and built up the nerve to finally apply for this whitelist, It'd also help further my character Silaris' story in wanting to become the HoS just like Isil was in his clan, Uaekis. With that reasoning, I feel that I am finally capable of having this whitelist and guiding others around in the Heavy RP station Aurora. Why did you come to Aurora?:I came because it was the only server to really harness the capabilities in serious roleplay. It has great staff, players, events, and an overall station. A great community, everytime I get caught up in doing something else or playing another game. I feel like it has this gravitation pull that pulls me right back to the community to play again. It's definitely a server worth staying on and roleplaying on. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Yes, I have indeed. I wouldn't be applying if I hadn't read everything on it. Please provide well articulated and argumented answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is essentially taking the role of a a specific thing/being be it fictional or non-fictional and carrying out that role, hence playing it which combines role and play. It ranges from serious or semi-serious, if you think of anything that you can take the role of and play as it, it's roleplay. Now, roleplay doesn't have to be in a game, it can be in real life too. A job for instance, it's a role in society that you are playing/working (Er.. Rolework.) that's an example of roleplay in real life. Another example would roughly be cosplay, taking the role of that character and playing it. You get the gist, roleplay is simple to understand but hard at the same time. It varies really, serious to not serious, it can take time to learn the full capabilities of roleplay. It's also not always about you, it's what you can produce to others for them to roleplay, such as making events, etc. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: The OOC purpose from my understandings is leadership, guidance, production of roleplay for whoever you are "leading". It's more of a guiding role to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing in their specific role on the server. Another thing about the OOC purpose is that links with the previous sentence is that if someone is doing their job incorrectly, you should probably tell them and give them a warning if it's something that can fire them ICly. You are the guider when it comes to being a Head of Staff, responsibility is one of the key things in this OOC purpose. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: The responsibilities for Whitelisted players vary, the most important is to NEVER abuse your power as a Head of Staff under any circumstances OOCly and ICly; at least for me. The purpose of the being a head of staff is to ensure that other players are key in the stations work and roleplay. You are there like said in the above question as leadership and guidance. Your responsibilities OOC are to set an example of what you should do ICly in a certain job. You are there for the player OOCly, you are their guide through their job. You are also their production of roleplay. Think of yourself as spider and all of the players within whatever job criteria you are head of are your little little babies which you must teach to live and strive! You must uphold your responsibilities to be the players guide when things get tough! You are there for them not to be the big huge guy with a lot of power. That's the gist of it, one big cool guy who is there for others. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Silaris Uaekis Character age:32. Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Before the great Contact War which led Moghes into the vast wasteland it is now, Silaris was a young Unathi child born into the clan Uaekis. He had the average life of a Unathi child in the populated city in the Izweski Nation. Silaris grew through a strict honorbonded family, being strictly taught the ways of honor and war. The young Uaekis child never grew to bring what he was taught to war, at age 8 First Contact happened. The young now curious child slowly observed the new race that have now travelled to Moghes. Silaris now reaching the age of 12, four years after First Contact. He turned into the victim of war, the Contact War. He quickly took shelter in safe-zones which were deep underground to protect from the bombings that had beat into the city. The once curious Uaekis child is now the frightened Unathi child. Silaris was 50 miles away from the city. His parents had forced his evacuation to his grandparent's farm. Even then he saw the big mushroom cloud which casted the most devastating shadow over his home city. So far away all he could do is watch the bright light of the fission bomb demolishing the city, the aftermath was the most devastating. Silaris mourned his family's death, the heartbroken child scavenged the safe areas which most of the rubble had stayed such as scraps. 19 year old Silaris Uaekis. Finally broken from the shackles of wasteland Moghes, he traveled to a NT employment station in which he signed up and was accepted for the Security Cadet program. The smile which hadn't shined on his face for 7 years finally emerged. Silaris researched his clan's members, one being Isil which Silaris closely follows his footsteps. Silaris wanted to make a career just like Isil did, this was his main reason for signing up for Security. He was inspired by his clan member Isil, he wanted to grow to the ranks just as if he did. Silaris was around 30 years old when Isil was declared deceased, Silaris immediately turned to honor Isil by conspiring to be where he was in his career, the Commander of a Security team. Silaris strived in the Cadet program, now he had to work as hard as he could in Security. This was the story of a Uaekis child, the story of Silaris Uaekis is just beginning. End. What do you like about this character?:Everything, his story, his compassion to be just like Isil, the things he learned from growing in the wasteland of Moghes. What do you dislike about this character?:I really can't find something I dislike about him. I feel that this is probably the best character I've had on Aurora in a long time. Do you think this character is fit to be a Head of Staff?: Yes. Why?:He's followed the footsteps of Isil from the Uaekis clan. He inspired Silaris heavily with getting out of Moghes and starting a career for himself. His death heavily impacted Silaris into honoring Isil and following up to become the next HoS from the Unathi Uaekis Clan. Please provide well articulated and argumented answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: Seriously, I'd rate it at an 8/10. I'm not perfect, even with all the experience I've had with my 3 years roleplaying from server to server. I'm still learning new things, which is probably one of the things that motivates me to keep roleplaying because it's the only thing that really interests me. Extra notes:
