1. BYOND Key: Herpetophilia Total Ban Length: Permanent Banning staff member's Key: Peppermint96 Reason of Ban: "Powergaming and encouraging poor practices. Destroying trash piles to loot things as a security officer, which has since been taught to new players. This kind of thing isn't okay and leads to server wide issues. Bragging about it is also not a good look." Reason for Appeal: It has been more than a year since my ban, during which I have been playing on and off (although not as much as I'd like due to IRL issues) across different departments. This experience has given me a new set of skills in roleplaying and I am confident that I can return to playing Security with an improved temperament. I have had enough time to see the full effects that Security can have on the outcome of a round as well as the experience of other players, and have learned to consider such consequences when making important decisions. This has also allowed me to look back at my ban and understand the possible repercussions of my behavior and identify similar problems in the future. Having been given the opportunity to see many rounds from different departments' perspectives gave a better idea of the complex balancing act between Security and Antagonists, with how even simple things such as looting trash piles may, over time, add up into bigger problems.
2. They seem to have a very good understanding of Vaurca lore, as well as great skill on roleplay. Their characters, especially Fox-Hound, are very fun to interact with. Definite +1 from me.
3. Bragging about it is also not a good look." Reason for Appeal: It's been a bit longer than 7 months since my security job ban (and last ban appeal.) This has given me a lot of time to think about my ban, and now I've come back to make a new ban appeal. I agree and understand that this may be my last chance of playing security and thus will take a different approach to playing once I am unbanned. Being more serious about the role and its potential effects on the rest of the server is going to be the first step. I think I will spend a good amount of time playing Cadet and using this opportunity to learn about how others go about being security and implement it into my own roleplaying.
4. Considering my aforementioned history, it's safe to assume that this will probably be the last chance given to me to improve my behavior. As stated in the original post, I will now strive to do my best in putting others before me and making better decisions when playing Security, so as to avoid something like this from happening again.

Destroying trash piles to loot things as a security officer, which has since been taught to new players. This kind of thing isn't okay and leads to server wide issues. Bragging about it is also not a good look." Reason for Appeal: I wish to regain my ability to play as Security, being one of my favorite departments. I believe I have learnt from this experience and will make better decisions concerning powergaming in the future, namely being able to understand when my actions break the rules or make the game less enjoyable for others. I will also be more aware of things I teach to new players and how it might affect them or the community negatively.
6. If I am correct, those warnings and bans are all from more than a year ago and have already expired, and were for other issues rather than searching through maintenance or trash piles specifically. Either way, I still understand how they might put me in a negative light in this situation. As for my intent -- I have known about the existence of trash piles, as well as the loot that they may yield for quite some time now. If my real intention was to power game and deprive antagonists or other crew from the trash pile loot then I would have been doing this for way longer, over the other multiple Security characters that I have. Up until I have created this character, I have barely ever touched the trash piles, outside of a seldom few reasons as non-security characters. When I created my new Vaurca character, Dez, I figured that it would make sense for it to regularly scrounge through the ship's trash to find extra credits to buy k'ois with, or send back to its Hive considering that Vaurcae are usually discriminated against and their average pay is way smaller than that of other crew. The name, "maintenance contraband check" was more of an IC cover-up used to discourage people asking what exactly Dez was searching for, which was indeed mainly credits. Anything else useful it found, it would bring to the other departments in need of it, to increase productivity and just generally be helpful. Having a cadet come along and also do it with me seemed like a great opportunity for humor as well as roleplay. At the time, I OOCly justified this using the reasons I have already described: -It takes a pretty long time to do this, and going through multiple piles of trash can take a lot of time and yield essentially nothing. In short, a waste of time in most cases. -There are a lot of piles of trash on the ship, and my searches were only localized to the security maintenance section. If anybody wanted to search through garbage themselves, they would still have the entire rest of the maintenance system to look through. -I thought that it was a fairly hidden mechanic that couldn't really be abused as much as pre-NBT maintenance tunnels were, especially considering how little access to maintenance Security has nowadays. I tend to observe a good amount of rounds and I've never ever seen any type of antagonist really take any time to dig through the trash piles, assumingly because of the first reason. Although I understand now that my actions were wrong, I still stand by my claim that I do not think a ban was justified. I will say again that even though I didn't know of any note, Cyb's warning still got through to me and I stopped my conduct immediately. It doesn't take a lot to realize that if a Moderator warns you to stop doing something or you'll get banned, you should probably stop doing it at once. As you yourself said, this is the first instance in which I've ever done this and I really think that applying a ban instantly is just poor escalation and is completely unneeded.
7. Right, this happened during the Discord discussion. From your screenshots, we can clearly see me asking you an honest question, which you replied to. I proceeded to try and crack a joke hinting at the financial situation of Vaurca characters not having much credits, but I am sorry if you mistook this for me mocking you. That was not my intention. If you did give me the note after the Discord discussion, then the point still stands that I stopped my conduct and heeded your warning. I do not see why a ban was applied after I clearly stopped doing the offensive action, but I understand you are not not responsible for it. My views on the matter have changed after I got some sense talked into me, and I now understand this completely. If I have not made myself clear enough, I am not contesting the reason of the administrative action but the improper escalation and punishment itself. Even though I didn't explicitly know you put a note on me, I stopped doing the offending maintenance searches immediately and was still slapped with a ban.
8. I was not aware of any note, as I was not bwoinked or talked to in any way before the Discord discussion. So no, I was not contacted by any staff at all.
9. BYOND Key: Herpetophilia Staff BYOND Key: Peppermint96 Game ID: I do not think this is applicable, but correct me if I'm wrong Reason for complaint: After a discussion on the Discord server about looting trash piles in maintenance as Security, Peppermint96 issued me a security job ban. I do not think this is justified, and should at least be lowered to a warning or a note. Now, for the context. Recently, I have started doing "maintenance contraband checks" as one of my security characters, Za'Akaix'Dez Zo'ra. These consist of me going into the maintenance tunnel North-East of security and taking apart the 5 or 6 trash piles located there. This usually yields some interesting loot, anything from knives to hand teleporters as you probably know. Afterwards, I store any found weapons in the Armory and forget about them, and bring anything else I find to the departments that would be interested. I have been doing this for a respectable amount of rounds over the past week. Not at one point during this period of time was I talked to, warned or given any other notion or idea that doing this is bad or against the rules. Personally, I did not feel that breaking apart a few loot piles is power gaming considering how many of them there are on the ship, how long it takes and how rarely they are actually used by antagonists, at least from what I've seen. Moving on to the Discord conversation mentioned earlier. Yesterday, on the Aurora Discord, I mentioned that trash piles can be very strong considering some of the things you can pull out of them. To make the long story short, I was pretty much told that this is bad and that I shouldn't do this. Admittedly, I did argue and debate the ethics of searching through garbage with multiple other Discord members, but I do not think this really applies to the situation that much. Either way, after this Discord conversation, I completely stopped doing these contraband checks over the next couple of rounds and still haven't done any. I am also being accused of encouraging poor practices to other players, namely the contraband searches. For reference, I only taught this to a Security Officer named August, and a Security Cadet named Hossl Suazra. This was only done one time with August, but I did do this over multiple rounds with Suazra. If they are allowed to, I am inviting the player of Suazra to chime in and also tell their side of the story. Personally, I do not think I taught them any "poor practice" other than searching through the loot piles, which they also stopped doing after the aforementioned Discord discussion. To reiterate, I don't think this ban is justified considering that I've never been told that searching through loot piles is wrong up until the Discord debate mentioned earlier. After said debate, I immediately stopped doing this and I do not think I deserve anything more than a warning or note. Evidence/logs/etc: If you want to look at the Discord conversation, you can easily find it by searching for anything 'trash pile' related in the search bar of the server. Additional remarks: It's my first Staff Complaint so it might look a bit disjointed. Feel free to ask me questions if you need me to explain something better.
10. Hello, thanks for replying! I believe one of the most important differences as to how you'd play a Vaurca is how their natural work ethic contrasts with a human work environment, such as the Horizon. Born and made for specific tasks that they would likely continue doing until death, Vaurcae do not have a full concept of having a job, being hired or fired from it and so on. This is because an average Vaurca's life outside of VR can more-or-less be considered its job, especially so for Bound. Adapting to this new human work ethic may be easier for some, such as those of Athvur's brood (like my character, who will likely have a very basic understanding of human culture), and harder for others, like those who were still alive on the hive-ships when first contact was made. What remains universal is that most if not all of average Vaurcae will be unknowing in human culture to one degree or another and will have to learn to adapt to the new environment. Being heavily discriminated against certainly does not help with this and may slow or even halt their progress to getting used to their new life in the Orion Spur. I hope this answers your question!
11. BYOND Key: Herpetophilia Character Names: Khazarir Prruzhulkanich Bob Ali Soleymani Species you are applying to play: Vaurcae What color do you plan on making your first alien character: RGB 131, 41, 11 (Athvur unbound) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: Over the years of me playing Aurora, one species in particular stood out to me the most. Even though I originally gained whitelists for other species, Vaurca has always been on my mind. Their unique lore has long intimidated me from making a whitelist, however after a long break from SS13, I finally delved deep into the wiki pages and gained new-found confidence to finally make this whitelist. I wish to join the ranks of the many Vaurca players that have made countless rounds enjoyable and funny, as well as participate in one of the coolest species we have in the server. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: One of the most important and major differences it he way Vaurcese society functions. Vaurca are split into Hives led by Higher Queens, which are then further split into Broods which are led by Lesser Queen. These Hives survive by using different castes, or types of Vaurca. Your caste, and by extension, your life is planned out by your Hive before you are even fully developed. For a proper Hive to function, it needs multiple castes to work together: Workers; to handle most physical labor and duties, Warriors; to protect the Hive and Breeders; to lead Vaurcae as well as advise their queens and ensure the population grows. There is also a new caste of Vaurcae, Bulwarks, which are used for heavy-duty industrial work. Another major thing to remember is that Vaurcae are very new to Human, Skrell and Unathi space, and as such are commonly discriminated against and mistrusted for various reasons. Character Name: Za'Akaix'Dez Zo'ra Please provide a short backstory for this character: Hatched in 2460 shortly after the Lii'dra invasion to an Athvur hive-cell in Phoenixport, Dez had a rather rough upbringing. After completing its training as a warrior, Dez had a tough time finding a job within Phoenixport that was suitable for a Warrior. At first, it assisted with menial tasks and physical labor whilst serving as an enforcer within Athvur's virtual reality realm. Eventually it landed a position within NanoTrasen, serving as security detail for the many NT operations within the district, especially those involving the Athvur brood as the workforce. It continued this modest life, trying to seep itself in Human culture where it could, until 2462, when Einstein Engines acquired the majority of Phoenixport from NanoTrasen. With its workplace and living quarters now owned by a different company, Dez's whole hive cell was left jobless and homeless. While a majority of the other Hive Cells moved to Belle Cote, Dez's cell instead decided to move itself to Flagsdale instead due to financial issues. While attempting to find another relevant job within the slums of Flagsdale, Dez came across a basketball game -- starring the Flagsdale Hornets. Fascinated by this new, Human sport, Dez quickly gained an obsession with the Hornets and basketball as a whole. Being both an immersive, interesting look into Human culture as well as a way to train one's physical ability and teamwork, basketball became an integral part of Dez's life. Even though it eventually found more security work within Nexus Corporate Security, Dez spent most of its free time learning and training the sport in VR in its very own sub-realm, and when it could, in real life. In recent times, Dez has acquired a contract to work aboard the SCCV Horizon as security detail. Its previous experience paired with Athvur's brood being know to work well in human environments made it an obvious choice for Nexus Corporate Security, who did not hesitate to send it away. When it isn't on duty, Dez still enjoys basketball, be it in virtual reality or the holodeck, and dreams of one day becoming part of the legendary (at least in its eyes) Flagsdale Hornets. What do you like about this character? Obviously, Dez's obsession with basketball. I can foresee many interesting and funny interactions stemming from this. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 7/10, I've taken a considerable break from SS13 and as such my ability is slightly impaired. However, its rebounding and I'm confident again.
12. I've played with many of Playbahnosh's characters lately. They are competent in roleplay, and seem to know the game mechanics very well. In addition to this, they are pretty fun to be around OOCly. All in all, I think a command whitelist would be perfect for them and there will be no issues. +1
13. I played multiple rounds with Triogenix's CMO. They proved themselves to be a competent and reliable command player from what I've seen. +1
14. I've played with multiple of Kaizr's characters, they were all executed superbly and very enjoyable to interact with. Kaizr themselves are also a very fun person to be around and I personally have never seen any issues. I think they would make a great command player, and this application gets a solid +1 from me!
15. I interacted with Siccero's Vaurcae many times and from this I can confidently say that they are a great and competent roleplayer. I'm more than certain that they'll do fine as an Unathi player. +1
16. I played a round with Pedantic's CMO as my HoP. They communicated well and were enjoyable to talk to. I would definitely like to see them in a command position again. +1
17. I've interacted with Yasin plenty of times, enjoyed all of them. I can say that the player is competent in roleplay and would make a great addition to the Unathi players of Aurora. +1
18. BYOND key: Herpetophilia Character names: Khazarir Prruzhulkanich Bob Ian Peters Suul Akhandi C-59 Oscar Xu Qiuu How long have you been playing on Aurora?: A little bit over 3 years now, with some periods of inactivity. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I've finally decided that I have matured and gained enough experience to take up the responsibility. I don't see many consulars around and I think getting the whitelist will open up some more opportunities for me as well as hopefully make rounds more interesting and fun for others. Why did you come to Aurora?: I was looking for an HRP server, as TG had became stale for me. I originally came to Bay, but I didn't like the way things worked there and ended up here. Over time I've come to really like this server, its players and mechanics. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Yes, I've received some administrative actions before, most notably 2 warnings, a minor ban and a jobban which have long since expired. Everything is mostly from a year or two ago and I am confident that I've moved away from such behavior by now. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: To me, roleplay is about having fun with others by playing as fictional characters with their own stories, personalities and quirks in a certain setting. It is about interacting with other people through their characters and creating a story, not unlike in a book or movie. A roleplay may involve all manner of things, from tragic moments to joyful adventures, tales of friendship or betrayal, and so on. A good roleplay should be about creating an interesting story and a memorable experience with the people around you, as at the end of the day, it shouldn't be about who is the winner, but about enjoying yourself and having fun. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: A good Head of Staff is a vital ingredient in creating a fun round that every player enjoys participating in. Heads of Staff who know what they are doing will contribute to driving the round forward, making it more interesting and enjoyable for others. A command player capable of adapting to different situations or scenarios while still giving out orders and directions will surely spice up the round for both the crew and the antagonists. In addition to this, a Head of Staff will be responsible for teaching newer or inexperienced players the mechanics of their respectable departments ensuring that newbies have a shining example to look up to and learn from. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: The OOC responsibility of whitelisted players would mainly be to set a good example for others, showing acceptable standards of behavior and good conduct. Since you are whitelisted, you are expected to behave according to the rules and are also held to a higher standard than others considering that the whitelist allows you to have greater influence on the rounds that you play. Additionally, you are supposed to stand out as a player with a decent or good understanding of the game and its mechanics, being able to teach other players. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau Ceti and how it affected your character and their career? As it stands, the situation in Tau Ceti and the Orion Spur is quite unstable in general. The ongoing Phoron shortage combined with the recent Solarian invasion has definitely taken a toll on the galaxy, resulting in the forming of the SCC which now holds economic control over the Spur. Although Vasiliy is now a full citizen of the Republic of Biesel, he was still shocked to see his homeland crumble to pieces. Nevertheless, he is adamant on keeping his position as an HoP and braving any discrimination that might come his way in these trying times. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? I will be playing HoP and Consular at first, however I definitely am planning on playing as a CE or CMO once I get more used to playing command. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking. Vasiliy Trapeznikov - Head of Personnel (trial character) How would you rate your own roleplaying?: On a scale of 1 through 10, I'd give myself a 6 or a 7. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes. Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes. Extra notes: N/A
19. +1 After playing a bunch of rounds with Dillard as the HoP, I can confidently say that the player knows what they are doing. Dillard is helpful, competent and fun to interact with. I think Rotharia would be a great addition to the Command team, and I look forward to seeing them on it!
20. Okay, I have no idea what's happening with my forum account, because I apparently made the app from another one (that I didn't even know about)..? Anyways, this is the one I used before. As to answer your questions: I might've been a bit overzealous with the word "most". The nations I was referring to were Dominia and the Jargon Federation, and maybe even the Eridani Federation. Dominia has a deep hate for positronics and will destroy any they find, so living there as one is out of the question. The Jargon Federation heavily dislikes them for obvious reasons, and although it's still possible to get in there as a synthetic without being destroyed, it most likely won't be worth your time and effort considering all the checks and tests you'd have to go through. As for the Eridani Federation, IPCs aren't sought out and destroyed, but the ideas of IPC rights and freedom aren't that well known or accepted except in the lower parts of Eridani society, while everyone else pretty much treats them as servant machine workers. Although not the only nation, Biesel has laws in place that allow IPCs to achieve freedom by buying themselves. Even though obviously not as well off as in the Techno-Conglomerate or Elyra, free IPCs in Biesel are still protected by a registry, the law as well as the ability to find a job and support themselves, either with a megacorporation or somewhere in the slums of District 14. They can even join the TCFL to get benefits and citizenship, or align themselves with the Trinary Perfection. This still doesn't mean that IPCs are treated completely the same as organic citizens. Although provided with these rights, IPCs are still discriminated against on a daily basis, being subject to more severe punishments than their organic counterparts when breaking a law (i.e dismantlement instead of a minor prison sentence). Additionally, there is a different set of laws governing the damage of free positronics, like Automacide. These usually round up having punishments not as severe as those for harming an organic. That should be all! If there's still something that doesn't make sense or I got wrong, please ask or tell me.
21. Hi! Sorry for the late response. I'm at an airport right now, traveling. To answer your question, even though Bob was trained to use proper escalation of force (including the use of lethal weapons when needed), it might still be cautious of killing or seriously injuring a human crewmember as it is still used to being commanded by human supervisors.
22. BYOND Key: Herpetophilia Character Names: Xu Qiuu, Khazarir Prruzhulkanich Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: A bad-ass dark olive military green Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I've been playing on Aurora for a while now, and already have whitelists for 3 other species. Skrell, Tajara, and Unathi respectfully. The IPC whitelist seems like another fine addition to my whitelists, and I've been sort-of longing to play cyborg or IPC for a while already. After seeing some of the cool and funny IPC characters people have created, and interacting with them, I've decided that I'm going to get a whitelist as well. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: IPCs are not organic, and have a series of mechanical advantages and disadvantages that come with this, i.e vulnerability to EMP's but higher resistance to physical damage. Their most important difference is that most positronic brains are not capable of having the same level of social interaction with organics as other organics do, not possessing the same mannerisms as humans do. Instead, they attempt to emulate organic emotion and adapt to their current environment and culture as best as they can. This can vary from model to model and positronic to positronic, as some may be more capable at it than others. However, some IPCs can even possibly form opinions and even make friends as a result of learning and adapting. Each IPC's highest concern is their own safety, regardless of their job. Most IPC's will find a way to link their job to their own self-preservation, with bound IPCs for example possibly believing that being owned by a corporation is a good way to stay safe, as they can get free repairs and maintenance. Name: Bob (H-4B0B) Please provide a short backstory for this character: H-4B0B was constructed on August 1st in 2461, in one of the many Hephaestus factories on Mars. Made in a batch meant for heavy industrial and multipurpose uses, it was equipped with a state-of-the-art upgraded G-2 chassis, stronger armor plating, more efficient cooling systems but alas a slightly outdated, less advanced positronic to lower the production cost. Even though a bit slow to learn and absorb information, it was well-suited to following human commands and doing whatever task it was told. After about a month of sitting in a warehouse while officials decided where to send it, H-4B0B was shipped off to the system of Burzsia where it would be used for a multitude of tasks in the Obsidian Belt, from mining to lifting to recovering units that were meant to be wiped. As it toiled away on the harsh asteroids in Burzsia II, every once in a while it would learn something it wasn't meant to, or start to realize that the conditions it worked under were dangerous and unfair. As soon as this would be found out, either by human supervision or by being reported by other IPC workers H-4B0B would be memory-wiped as per the Burzsian Method. This happened quite a few times during the year that H-4B0B spent working in Burzsia, until Burzsian and Hephaestus supervisors decided to finally get rid of it. Instead of being scrapped, however, it was sold to NanoTrasen for a reduced price. NT looked over the IPC and decided that it would fill in a role in Security due to it's intimidating size and armor plating. There was also already a surplus of workers in cargo and mining. When it first arrived on the Odin, one of the officials in charge of IPC assignment dubbed it "Bob" for the sake of simplicity over H-4B0B. It was given a short training period where it was taught to neutralize human threats using proper escalation of force. It was also re-programmed to use Tau Ceti Basic and EAL for communication with the crew. However, Sol Common was not removed from it's memory banks. Forms were filled and records written, and Bob was sent to the NSS Aurora with the assignment of Security Officer. While on the station, Bob is a curious being despite having a subpar positronic brain. No longer suppressed by the Burzsian Method and it's threat of a memory wipe as soon as it falls out of line, Bob is no longer kept from accumulating and absorbing knowledge. The only interaction with humans that it ever had before the Aurora was being ordered to do tasks by it's supervisors while in Burzsia II, so the concept of having humans and other sentient species working alongside it instead of commanding it is extremely new to Bob. It occasionally slips up, calling non-IPC employees "foreman" and having a hard time distinguishing between different species. What do you like about this character? Having almost no knowledge of how human society really works, Bob is going to be thrust into a diverse, new environment for it to adapt to and learn from. This means I will try to roleplay Bob to learn from and take examples from other characters and crewmen. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Depending on the day and mood, really. It can be anywhere for 6 to 8 out of 10.
23. Hello! Thanks for replying! I'll do my best to answer these questions, even though to be honest, I was unprepared for some of them. IPCs are not organic, and have a series of advantages and disadvantages that come with this, such as resistance to physical damage, vulnerability to EMPs, resistance to pain, and some of them being able to survive in a vacuum. One of their most important differences is that positronic brains are not capable of having the same level of social interaction with organics as other organics do. This is because they do not possess the same mannerisms as many other species. Instead, they attempt to imitate organic behavior and adapt to their current environment and culture as best as they can. This can vary from model to model and positronic to positronic, as some may be more capable at it than others. However, some IPCs can even possibly form opinions, make friends and do other things normally done by organics as a result of learning and adapting. Each IPC's highest concern is their own safety, regardless of their job. Most IPC's will find a way to link their job to their own self-preservation, with bound synthetics for example possibly believing that being owned is a good way to stay safe, as they can get free repairs and maintenance. I might've worded that in a bit of a weird way. IPCs are incapable of feeling true emotions, and are only emulating them, each to one degree or another. What I meant is that while a human might speak or act based off their emotions or morals, IPCs unfamiliar with, or incapable of emulating them to a high degree might take emotion and morality out of the equation, just to follow orders and/or make sure they survive. I feel like I already talked about this in another section, but maybe I didn't make myself clear enough. Even though that Bob wasn't really made for positions which may require heavy human social interaction, this will not bar it from actively trying to learn from and adapt to it's workplace. Bob will be curious and try to absorb any information it is given to better fit in with the environment, maybe making friends along the way. I don't really know about how I can flesh out a story of a newly made, corporate-owned IPC. Maybe it was a bad idea to try and make an application backstory centered around one in the first place, seeing as how new IPCs, especially ones owned by corporations, most likely will not be able to come in contact with groups such as the Trinary Perfection church or the Golden Deep because said corporations like Hephaestus are against IPC freedom. I read about the Synthetic factions and to be honest I am really interested in them especially the Trinary Perfection and their idea that all synthetics are divine. However I don't really know how to implement their lore into a month-old IPC that is fresh off the shelves, seeing as there simply isn't a way for Bob to have ever met these factions. Instead, I will attempt to rewrite the backstory if you still want more lore representation.

However, some IPCs can still form opinions, emulate human behavior and other traits normally possessed by organics. Each IPC's highest concern is their own safety, regardless of their job. Name: Bob (H-4B0B) Please provide a short backstory for this character: Being a mint Hephaestus Industrial Gen-2 constructed on August 1st in one of the many factories on Mars, H-4B0B was quickly shipped to an off-planet warehouse until it was ready to be bought by a customer. Made in a batch meant for paramilitary and security uses, it was equipped with a state-of-the-art updated G-2 chassis, plating, cooling systems, but alas a slightly outdated, less advanced positronic to lower the production cost. Somewhat low on the social interaction ability scale, it was more suited for following orders, patrolling, answering simple questions, and neutralizing threats. After about a month, H-4B0B was leased by a galactic mega-corporation, NanoTrasen. H-4B0B's batch was sent off to be used on some of NT's many assets, included, but not limited to, space stations. H-4B0B itself was assigned a security position aboard one of NanoTrasen's most advanced stations. It's memory banks were updated with corporate regulations and it's ownership status temporarily set to NanoTrasen. Not long after, it was shipped to the Odin where it was dubbed "Bob" by one of the officials in charge of IPC assignments, either out of simplicity over "H-4B0B", or just for shits and giggles. It was given a short training period where it was taught to successfully deal with regulation-breakers using proper escalation of force. After that, it was further prepared for servitude by being told to be a "good boy" by the same imbecile that named it "Bob" and to seek a non-lethal solution whenever possible. Some paperwork and records followed, and it was finally sent off to the NSS Aurora to fulfill the assignment of Security Officer. If it's performance is satisfactory during the year-long lease period and there are no costly mechanical faults, NanoTrasen may obtain full ownership of the unit by paying the remaining cost. What do you like about this character? Having almost no knowledge of how society really works, Bob is going to be thrust into a diverse, new environment for it to adapt to and learn from. This means I will try to roleplay Bob to learn from and take examples from other characters and crewmen, no matter how positive or negative of an influence they may be (within limits of course). How would you rate your role-playing ability? Depending on the day and mood, really. It can be anywhere for 6 to 8 out of 10.
