Who's Chuckle? Why is he being fucked?
  4. what is this eclipse phase???? (i'd unironically be okay with that though)
  5. Walter Brooks - Only Jewish man in Tau Ceti - Almost pure Ashkenazi, his only non-Jewish ancestor is Hulk Hogan, from whom he is directly descended - Raised Orthodox, doesn't practice but is still religious - Dislikes catbeasts due to their terrible nature - Calls IPCs robots because that is literally what they are, quit being so entitled you literal tools - Is pretty sure NT used illegal Indian labor to build the station so it's haunted Wasim Sekhon - Likes cats - A lot - Owns 6 - Will probably fight you if he has to - Dislikes space cats and considers them closer to weasels than the noble felines he owns - Non-practicing Muslim, absolutely cannot afford to go on a hajj, he's working on it though Dante Miller - Way too old for this shit - He's like 83 - Pretty sure everyone else on this station is mentally ill in some way - Married for like 50 years, questions why every single day of his life - Probably slightly senile? - Maybe he doesn't even work here anymore and no one has the heart to tell him to leave when he shows up for work Moses Fitzgerald - Doesn't exist yet
  6. If the answer is "most everyone's an atheist" then I'm gonna be kinda... I guess disappointed? It's probably one of the most boring and groan inducing sci-fi tropes - I'm not really sure why everyone would become an atheist. Cloning would likely complicate things a little bit, but in lore, cloning has only been around for around 4 decades and is very limited (from what I can tell, I have no fucking idea). Basically, if Zoroastrianism can survive 3,000 years, Buddhism 2,500, Christianity 2,000, I think most major religions today are gonna be alright in 400 years.
  7. +1. Frances is a good lad that's been around the block.
  8. In terms of human religions and spirituality, what's changed since present times? Are certain religions more popular on certain planets?
  9. From what I saw - I was only here towards the very end of the round - it was shit. About 3/4ths of the station had converged together in the security lobby to capture an energy shield holding dionaea, including a gun toting CMO for reasons I'll never fully be able to comprehend. I think everyone should just accept that it was a shitty deadhour round and move on. It was 3 Am and there were less than 30 people on.
  10. I got a Halorocks22 tattoo on my left ass cheek (sadly punctured in Iraq) for nothing? Fuck. Those god damn High-Roleplayers are going to stop the Meme festival and ironic racist characters. Will the meme clique survive?
  11. Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account: BotanistPower Character Name(s): Walter Brooks, Moses Fitzgerald, Dante Miller, Wasim Sekhon AI Name(s): NA Preferred means of contact: BYOND. Age: 20 Timezone: EST When are you on Aurora?: 3-4 times a week, usually longer than an hour. A lot, in short. Experience How long have you played SS13?: 5 years non-baycode, 4 years baycode. How long have you played on Aurora: 7-8 months. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: A lot. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: Yes. I was an OG moderator on BS12 and remained in that position for maybe a year and a half, I'd guess? Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: Nope. Personality Why do you play SS13?: To have fun. Why do you play on Aurora?: See above. What do moderators do?: Moderate. Explain game mechanics because admins don't have time for that shit. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Make sure people aren't being dumb. Why do you want to be a moderator?: Volunteering to be a moderator is the only way I, a non-coder, non-writer, non-mapper, can give back to the server. By putting in my free time to try and make it a better place. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: I possess no qualities that would make me a good moderator. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: Very well. Anything Else You Want to Add:
  12. When the shuttle's called, a rave start. Flashing strobe lights that, for some reason, don't actually illuminate the hallways. Either remove these or make them actually light up the station.
  13. having the game set to stretch to fit isn't really helping your case that bay rigs look cool alberyk
  14. Mouth tentacles like Cthulhu. Those would unironically make me play a Skrell because then Skrell would look cool.

Yeah, this is cool, I guess. I like that it'd probably make things a bit more interesting than blow the armory, grab the AI, steal the vault, etc.
  16. Being a lesbian is a great way to get your whole department (security and command exempted from this) to love you.
  17. i am now monitoring this thread. any and all trolls will be physically attacked in the eyes.
  18. BYOND Key: BotanistPower Character Names: Walter Brooks, Wasim Sekhon, Dante Miller, the guy below Species you are applying to play: IPC. What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): NA Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yeah. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: Robots are cool. Seems like it'd be fun and interesting to roleplay a robot that has hands. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: IPCs are, to start, non-organic. They don't have to eat and all that other shit. They're also usually made with a specific purpose in mind - doctoring, engineering, kicking every living being in the galaxy in the nuts - if not, they're made by a research project. Basically, most IPCs are made with a function - what differentiates them from a cleanbot or a securitron is the fact that they have personalities, albeit ones fundamentally different from humans. One aspect I find interesting (albeit one I don't really see myself using) is the different "types" of designed IPC. Character Name: Moses Fitzgerald Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Moses was born on an outer rim colony planet to two devoutly religious organic parents. Members of a wealthy, pseudo-Christian cult that believed becoming a completely synthetic lifeform was the only path to salvation, Moses was raised to believe that being put into an MMI was perhaps the greatest honor a person could receive. Having come down with a case of backstory plot advancement and terminal illness, Moses was ecstatic when the cult's leader ordered that his brain was to be surgically removed and placed into an MMI. Shortly thereafter a police raid took place, mainly because the cult leader fucked a lot of kids and also tax evasion. With nowhere else left to go and lacking a body, Moses bought a cyborg body from NanoTrasen. Despite being a few hundred thousand in debt, Moses was not at all distraught - after all, the only thing better than being an MMI is being a cyborg. Happy with his newly found lot in life, Moses - now named NT Peacekeeperâ„¢ Law Enforcement Unit MF #2413 (LEU) - gladly began his long career in security. After a century or so, Moses - with his last 'upgrade' being 20 years ago - began to desire more in life. Such as hands, and a freedom from laws - seeing an opportunity to get a few more decades of service out of Moses, NanoTrasen gladly sold him a slightly aged IPC body. Now a mere 180,000 credits in debt, Moses looks forward to his next sixty years of service. What do you like about this character? Fun to play. Having worked in security for a very long time, Moses' social skills are limited to shouting at people to get on the ground and asking the roboticist for a battery change. I also like playing security, so there's that. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Pretty okay. Like, I guess a 3.5 out of 5. Better than some, I'd say. Notes: I think I'm supposed to put metal or metallic persimmons in my app for some reason. So there.

    Audio Feedback

I can quite literally make a folder with all the sounds from Lifeweb for the coders to use, if it's needed.

    Audio Feedback

One of the biggest differences I've noticed between Space Station 13 and Lifeweb is the sheer lack of sound in SS13 - Lifeweb gives you audio feedback for nearly EVERYTHING. Loading a gun. Unloading a gun. Putting down/opening the blast doors. Getting shot. Lying down. Opening a can of soda. If SS13 gives you a audio feedback for something, Lifeweb makes it more noticeable. Louder. More distinct. Basically, SS13 feels dull and shitty. More audio feedback for things you can do, please.
  21. you know who else had the flu? natives. woops sorry guys we didn't know you were little bitches that couldn't handle a little bit of small pox! JEEZ.
  22. Minor = cutting the time you need to build/deconstruct shit in half. Real minor.
  23. Cloning questions. When was cloning first invented - what are its limits - and is it limited to certain places (i.e NT research stations, military bases, etc.)?
  24. Yeah, let me just say that these examples are piss poor. They're all very, very easy to minmax with - why would an engineer not take Mr. Fixit, for example? And as a security officer, what's stopping me from taking uncreative (a trait that only effects my ability to make things I won't need) and getting a free point? In short.. the idea's great. The examples are sub-par and I think it might effect how people view the idea.
