  1. I change my mind, I don't want to wikidev anymore. I don't think this is a friendly enviroment at all.
  2. Changing a few lines is also in the spirit of the OP. Thanks!
  3. As far as i am aware, i believe we can order and build AM powerplants that can produce millions to billions of megawatts of power. In an extended arc about energy shortages this seems incongruent. I suggest removing it or making its price 100 million or 1 billion credits or something. Edit: actually star spanning governments can afford any price since the result is indefinitely vast power production so remove it entirely imo. NOW!
  4. Thank you! I know i cant up and upload whatever to a lore page. Using wikidevs channels/etc to coordinate with teams is more efficient than me DMing different people as a regular nobody player. Especially in DMs full of idle chatter. The casualness of it isnt super efficient Is there no difference between a wikidev and a player in terms of wiki maintenance? To repeat my main goal is helping unathi clerical work while I'm fine to touch up all these other nonlore pages i see.
  5. Im not making lore, it's documenting lore. All the unathi articles gotta go on the wiki. Ive already documented everything of my own violition. Everything is already done, it just needs to be uploaded. Im happy to do anything else a wikidev has to do for awhile. Theres a lot to be done. This is just my primary goal bcuz i know its a LOT and it was my job to upload it in the first place. Its easier to work with the loreteam within an existing team rather than submitting as a player. And i dont like asking other people to do stuff when im able to do it myself. It feels like badgering. Especially since i was supposed to do it before i got ran out. Am i really so vile that after 4 years of no infractions i cant even be a wiki dev? You bring up my history and its a little frustrating that every app has my history brought up. Theres people on staff right now that sent me hate mail and porn and all kinds of vile crap because they didnt like me. I can actually still see it if i go to the DMs. I never bring up their history. Is my history really worse than all that? Geeze man I just wanna contribute to the wiki. Is it going to be like this every time?
  6. Proof i read it after my tripup earlier: Null is still listed as the depuy loremaster. Didnt someone get hired someone recently?
  7. I did, thank you. Edit: fixed! Lol I don't. I said in my application i don't care about the other stuff going onto the wiki since it was dismissed by a loredev in a rude way. I dont want to volunteer to someone being mean, lol. None of the unathi devs were/are mean though. im happy to help upload the lore or other pages that the wiki needs maintained. We still need unathi lore in articles put on the wiiki. I want to do that. There's also some guides I see that I said a billion years ago I'd update... To work! Lol why not apply? The worst that happens is they say no.
  8. Ckey/BYOND Username: MarlonPhoenix Position Being Applied For: (Wiki Maintainer, Lore Developer, Deputy Lore developer): Wiki Maintainer Have you read the Lore Team Rules and Regulations wiki page? Yes; I wrote most of them. Past Experiences/Knowledge: I was Unathi maintainer in 2014. I was loremaster from 2015 – 2018. I was Unathi maintainer in 2018. I left due to targeted harassment in 2018. I started the news articles on a lark that later turned serious. I started persistent lore arcs. Examples of Past Work: I’ve written for, rebooted, overhauled, or contributed to all played species. You can see my contributions under the name Jackboot, Senpai Jackboot, and Marlon Phoenix. Additional Comments: I’ve tried contributing as a normal community member and my contributions remain in limbo. Even if I’m rejected I hope this app highlights an area of concern. This is meant to be constructive, not combatative. Unathi articles are not on the wiki. I took on a personal project to summarize all the news articles and index them. I was told this wasn’t wanted so I dropped it all. I don’t care about the other stuff but would like to see the unathi wiki pages reflect the items in here: https://forums.aurorastation.org/topic/16511-2015-2019-news-summary-project/#comment-151399 I also submitted a wiki page summarized the entirety of all unathi news articles and I think I also tried to submit updates to other wiki pages for the unathi to get everything up to date. I even submitted two different variations on the same project with the only difference being the author’s voice. That was pages worth of updates each. This was a long time ago, and I haven’t seen any updates or progress on anything I’ve tried to submit. If im wrong im willing to be embarrassed with this app; i nor another player could find the wikis information on the unathis recently history as defined as the news articles. I’m happy doing clerical work for a little bit. If it’s awkward for me to suggest arcs or something I don’t have to do any of that. Once I’m done updating all the unathi stuff and adding to various guides and fixing a bunch of errors i sre, I’ll resign -- once i run out of stuff to do. I just wanna see some progress. Thanks for reading!
  9. I understand; it sounded like this was a fix to a more perfect system. It sounds now you also know that hierarchy-laws is flawed but in a better ic way. I think im at a 0 for endorsement instead of a -1; I've developed a desire for replacing ss13's cliché of lawsets completely so flaws are done thru RP and not a checklist, so swapping back and forth I don't have strong opinions on. I do agree with most everything you've said though.... Actually idk a +1 since a hierarchy gives a more clear chain of decisions for a synth to follow. Maybe its more player friendly. +1 i talked myself into it thru my post
  10. @Zelmanai understand. It sounds like you want flawed rulesets allowing flaws robots - something totally valid. How would that affect people's gameplay as synths and alongside synths, do you think? Are there histories of player complaints about synths "following their laws" in ways that frustrate players?
  11. How is AI both unable to do command operations anymore and also still whitelisted?? Is ai just a whitelisted door opener? +1 to OP
  12. Asimov laws since their inception have been throughly explored. They have innumerable flaws and contradictions for even the simple dumb robots Aasimov envisioned. This suggestion to return to hierarchy seems strange to me given the history of law conflicts in aurora itself in our server history. An alternative should be to remove laws entirely and replace them with technobabble that achieves the goals of what we want from synth behavior while allowing human judgement calls that traditional lawed synths get catch-22'd by. I guess since this rejects the status quo and your suggestion it is a -1; I dont think hierarchied laws will solve the problem more than bring back the problems caused by hierarchical laws We oocly dont want flawed robots outside anyags or events. Laws make flawed robots.
  13. You're a little Mr. Cry's About It, huh?
  14. Please follow this format if you wish to complain about a staff member You got it Please ensure that you do not include anything in brackets Okay Be as detailed as possible. Logs and screenshots may be used for your complaint. Garn DM'd me this after I talked about him being a new player that begged me up and down to show him what pipe would flood the station with plasma during a safety course: If you are satisfied with the responses of the thread, you are free to ask the report to be closed. it's a little early for that since no one's responded yet... This staff complaint format is weird 😕
  15. What a mean spirited suggestion and a dismissive attitude by OP. Also wow youre so hostile to the animals in the pr. Calm down dude lol. Bad idea. -1.
  16. Youre not one already? You do a crazy lot of work. Like i need a lunch break just reading all the work you have done between me checking wiki_maint on discord. +1 no brainer
  17. I didn't say NT isn't real as a reason. I said dress codes are cultural thing and can be whatever we want. And, skirts and heels used to be required attire for lady cops. In many places lady cops still have the option to wear skirts. It's realistic. That said, I don't think heels would be a good idea either. Nor would a cheongsams because that's a formal dress. This isnt a realism problem. Its a personal taste problem. Youre also being uncharitable. This isnt a suggestion to abolish all uniform regulations. Letting amoryblaine wear jeans when he clocks in as sec will hardly lead to rampant abuse of helpless admins and unenforcable clothing-based chaos.
  18. Oh i understand now! I get you. It sounds like its a pain to update this legacy code to something that works. Good luck with it!!! There is also the xenoarch suggestion, which you might find interesting for its method of making scavenger hunt for getting to the artifacts themselves.
  19. Is there any interest in this? With the growth of Slice of Life articles, it kay be beneficial.
  20. Oh i dont disagree at all. Something that screams "IM SEC" at all 4 orientations of a sprite. Counterpoint on the skirt.... but we agree on the heels not being reasonable..... Lol ok but yeah i getcha totally fair im just pointing out its entirely a cultural matter and dress codes dont HAVE to be how we have them for sec. Edit: Video is relevant to OP and above posts to illustrate portrayals of non-aurora standard based dress codes in other media and societies.
  21. The visuals of our sprites is the most immediate way for a player to express their character, even more than flavortext. More control/freedom in how they dress will be good. "Corporate regs say" is a misnomer because corporate regs can be whatever we want. NT is not real not does it have to follow 2022 american dress standards imagined by young adults. NT could be fine with skirts if we chose. For most of human history women wearing pants was a crime. Culture changes. Let our culture give security sweaters and flannel shirts. NOW.
  22. I dont this this specific suggestion on the git; hopefully in the future.
