  1. Hey there. First of all to add to the complaint, I am fairly sure the warning was placed on Round cps-cAoB. Now to come to your warning: I've placed the warning on you for committing suicide as the Freebooter Captain, I've seen it rather late, otherwise I would have personally talked to you about it in an AdminPM, unfortunately you already disconnected at the time. There was someone mentioning this in Deadchat such as a Vaurca Freebooter launching a distress signal regarding your death - when I looked over the situation, your mob was laying there with a knife-revolver that was missing one bullet. Scrolling through the Adminlogs in-game, I then found the log confirming you have committed suicide. I cannot entirely recall it as I didn't check, but there seemed to be Atmosphere in the ship still so that must have happened from you stepping outside without internals or something close to that. Your mob was laying right infront of the Bridge - just because your lungs have been popped, it's no clear greenlight to commit suicide, you could have very well used that time to launch a distress signal to at least have your body recovered by the Horizon (which your fellow Freebooter later did). I do not have much to add. From my eyes this seems rather clear, given your record, this has been a warning.
  2. Reporting Personnel: Charlotte Briggs Job Title of Reporting Personnel: Head of Security Game ID: cpl-dfC3 Personnel Involved: - Elliot Keles, Security Officer (Offender) - Adilie Delahaye, Security Officer (Offender) - Lincoln Methone, Investigator (Victim / Offender) - Maja Gretzsky, Janitor (Witness) Secondary Witnesses: n/A Time of Incident: 17th of August, close to the end of the shift, unsure about the exact time. Real Time: 17th/18th of August, Around Midnight UTC. Location of Incident: SCCV Horizon, Service Wing, Hallway above the Lounge Nature of Incident: [ ] - Workplace Hazard [ ] - Accident/Injury [ ] - Destruction of Property [x] - Neglect of Duty [ ] - Harassment [x] - Assault [ ] - Misconduct [x] - Theft (potentially) Overview of the Incident: I got up from my Residential Unit, nearing the end of the shift due to being notified that such is needed - I would have been scheduled on the upcoming shift normally. As soon as I entered my Office and started to get my equipment on, one of the on-duty Janitors messaged me on the PDA - which I unfortunately have no logs of right now - that they have witnessed two officers beating up an Investigator in the Service Department, and that said officers attempted to bribe them after they have witnessed this happening. As soon as I got those messages, I finished gathering my equipment, calling the Janitor to my Office and interviewing them (Transcript Number 1, attached) where they elaborated on the incident, explaining to me that Officer Elliot Keles and another, to that point of time, unidentified Officer, have assaulted Investigator Lincoln Methone and elaborated to me the bribing situation. After Interviewing the Janitor, I have called Investigator Lincoln Methone to my Office, interviewing them (Transcript Number 2, attached) where he explained the Assault that he has been a victim of, and confirmed the Identity of the second Security Officer assaulting him - which was Officer Adilie Delahaye - after showing him a Security Record of said Officer. After taking both of these statements, I went to take the statement of Officer Elliot Keles (Transcript Number 3, attached) where he explained the situation to me. Investigator Lincoln Methone seems to have in some way or form sourced Silver Bars from the Operations department - reportedly with access, as said by himself they've been given those Silver Bars. As the shift change was already in effect, there was not much time to take the Statement of Officer Adilie Delahaye, unfortunately. Given all the information, I personally think that personalities like these should not be given the chance to represent our Security Department as a whole and partake in the protection of our ship and everyone's lives. This entire situation reeks with corruption and breaking of our very own Corporate Regulations. I think that I am speaking for the entirety of our command structure here when saying that I am not comfortable working alongside these employees in the department. There is no excuse for the Assault against Investigator Methone coming from both Officer Keles (which already has a record of his own) and Officer Delahaye. Neither is there any reason for Mister Methone to go out of his normal duties selling Silver to crew members which he has potentially stolen. Submitted Evidence: - Transcript Number 1, Witness Statement, Maja Gretzsky - Transcript Number 2, Statement, Lincoln Methone - Transcript Number 3, Statement, Elliot Keles Would you like to be personally interviewed?: [x] - Yes, if needed. [ ] - No Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: I was the Head of Staff, took the incident into my hands, Actions taken: None since the shift came to an end, if it would not have ended, temporary suspensions of Officer Keles, Officer Delahaye and Investigator Methone. Additional Notes: None.
  3. Hey Again. First of all thanks for the response, given I latejoined that round, this clears up some things for me on my side, I did not get much time briefing into the situation. That's something I saw when observing, which ultimately led to my decision of joining as Head of Security as Security seemed very eager to just shut down your gimmick and not let you through with it, no matter the explanations or sending an announcement etc. This is something that unfortunately happens a lot when Security is unsupervised / there is no Command. I was joining as Head of Security to be able to give you some leeway for your gimmick. When observing, the Warden definitely handed out armament, though I'm not aware that a laser rifle was actually handed out in the entire situation, if so - that's on me for not noticing, I did not pay too much attention to exactly that when running to the bridge, I was just aware that both energy carbines were handed out. While yes, I understand the thought from your side that there's "no other way out", you have a lot of tools at disposal as a Ninja, the stealth suit you were wearing has quite a few Hardsuit Modules including a Stealth Field that both of you Ninja's bought - and at that point of time, you had Captain-level access. The most simple thing that could've been done is just sneaking away using the stealth field or using the Emergency Teleport module. It's totally fair that you're a new ninja player and might've not known about all of that, which I won't doubt here. We've all been there and all had to learn. Given you play a lot as Security Officer (unless I am mistaking you with someone else, in which case I am sorry) you should definitely know the effects that armor has and how fast a human actually drops from point-blank shots into the head. Targeting the head as you said yourself, is generally the option when you're at a point of completely removing someone from the round for whatever reasoning, since it can directly damage the brain. While I was a little mad for being taken out of the round that fast, I'm not particularly mad at you for it. You were new in the role and mistakes happen, I would just greatly appreciate you taking more care when engaging in firefights with others, whether it is from the Antagonist-side or the Security-side. In hindsight - given this has been "handled" by Staff but I do not agree with how it was handled, this should be a Staff Complaint regardless, not a Player Complaint. Which is also my primary concern here, getting an answer from another uninvolved Staff Member, preferably an Administrator at this point on why it is okay that "Antagonists can execute security on-the-spot if they're in a fight".
  4. BYOND Key: Loorey Staff BYOND Key: Sadkermit Game ID: co9-daki Reason for complaint: I do not see this issue as properly handled and wish to, at least get a second opinion from an Administrator, on why it is okay that "Antagonists can execute security on-the-spot if they're in a fight". Let me describe the entire situation from me joining the round, to me getting head-pb'd and taken out of the round for context: I joined the round as Head of Security, when the ninja's already boarded the Horizon, broke into the Captain's office and were discovered lingering in the Command Substation on Deck Three by the rest of Security. There was no aggression at that point, just a verbal conflict between ninja's and security. The Warden brought out energy carbines that were stashed in satchels and the ship was on green alert, there were no long-arms, neither special armor out from the side of Security. I gave the order to the AI not to raise the alert as to not scare anyone into conflict. I grabbed my equipment, that being: Security Belt, Plate Carrier, Disruptor and Helmet (which was in my bag) and joined the Officers on the third, where they were talking. I started taking over and talking to the ninja (which tried disguising himself as the Captain) where he asked me if we were not informed about the Security Drill happening, and informed me of his identity as Captain etc. I returned that I didn't know and asked more about it. When one of the Bridge Crewmen yelled for help over command comms and I heard disruptor shots on the Bridge: I sprinted to the Bridge together with one of the Officers, the second Antagonist (who was on the Bridge in his stealthsuit, that being Comet Blaze) ran into Telecommunications as we entered. The officer stayed back and I followed him into telecomms, grabbing my disruptor, he was in the Server Room itself where he quickly drew a 9mm Pistol, I was in the foyer aiming my disruptor at him, telling him to get down: In return, not aiming the 9mm pistol at me, he told me that is not happening, so I opened fire on him with my disruptor, where he sprinted to me and instantly started head-pbing me, resulting in my death in about 10 seconds because I had no helmet on, which the antag definitely knew: While you can definitely say "your issue" because I opened fire with my disruptor and "your issue" for not wearing your helmet, I do agree with you, but I was trying to resolve the entire situation diplomatically from the start, attempting to give the antags some leeway with their gimmick instead of coming in, gun-maxing in heavy armor and headashing the two - because I would have definitely had the option to do so. Given all the context, I do very much believe the antag was aware of the entire situation, I was non-lethally armed, only wearing a plate-carrier w/o Helmet and was basically no threat to a lethally armed Ninja that could've also easily gotten away. Yet instead of maybe shooting me in the legs/arms or center mass as warning to get away, the antag decides to immediately head-pb me taking me out of the round about 10 minutes after I joined, 30 mins total into the round. Now you may ask, "Why do you make this complain, you shot first", I see a lot of constant shitting on security for being too extreme, I tried being diplomatic and also wouldn't have associated the Telecomms ninja with the other one in disguise. If I would have taken out a laser rifle, rolled up looking like an armory and headashed one of them after a 9mm shot, I would have certainly gotten AdminPM'd and possibly warned or jobbanned for doing so - this has happened to Security Players before. Staff opinions seem to differ a lot on this topic. Even if the player does not get punished, which is also not my primary goal here, I wish to have a publicly available explanation on why it is okay for an Antagonist to take a non-lethally armed Security Player out of the round immediately, but when the other side is doing so it gets punished. Evidence/logs/etc: Everything posted above describes the situation rather well. I have a screenshot of the ticket on hand, if that's wanted. Additional remarks: Everything I talked about above, I want a clarification on this.
  5. I played several rounds of Pharmacist alongside your Physician character, Leslie, now. After being able to spectate how you're doing knowledge and roleplay wise, it is safe to say that you possess a great amount of medical knowledge and also really put effort into your roleplay. I would definitely say you'd be a good fit that I can see in a trial position as CMO, I doubt there will be any issues. You're getting a solid +1 from me here, keep it up in your trial should you get it and I see no issue in you passing right through.
  6. I've known Noble and his characters for quite some time now, he's clearly a good and capable Roleplayer. Started playing around his character Broadsword, which was a Bridge Crewman when I played as Bridge Crewman myself and it was always nice to have them as company, fun interactions, made sitting on the Bridge or wherever else way more fun. Went through my command trial as Executive Officer around them playing Broadsword and their character was always nice and supportive, knowing their way around and helping. Recently spectating him playing Executive Officer himself and also playing as Captain with having Broadsword on my side as Executive Officer, he's capable of playing command. I have to agree with most things that were said already, he goes out of the way interacting with people wherever possible, he keeps himself busy and most importantly is very communicative, which is a very important command trait that I see a lot of actually whitelisted command players are lacking sometimes. Besides his character Broadsword, which he is trialing with, I've also had the fun to play around Castile, his Machinist with my Operations Manager. Also a very fun and energetic character, you can clearly notice the effort he puts in to make his characters feel entirely different from one and another. That's why this is getting a big +1 from me. Get him whitelisted!
  7. Yeah you can @Garnascus, there's admin Verbs to Upload Map Templates and also to place them. I have not toyed around with the Map Template stuff except for some small and really basic things, but I do not see why it should not work with a ship.
  8. BYOND Key: Loorey Character Names: Jennavia Levine (XO), Casey Wildkins (OM), Inaya Hall (CMO), Serenity Anderson (Engineer), Keira Yamamoto (Idris CorpRep), Sophie (AI), MIA (Engi- and Mediborg) Species you are applying to play: Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Hex #12421E (Light Green-ish color that pretty much looks like Vetju's color) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Of course. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: As my primary reason, honestly, I just want to roleplay as something entirely different and not 'just' a Human, it's much more exciting to play entirely different species with different mechanics. Vaurcae are very interesting to me, being one of the oldest surviving civilizations yet one of the most discriminated against by Humans within the Spur, such advanced technologies as teaching their young vaurcae in Virtual Reality where they can prepare them perfectly for their assigned tasks - yet to Humans they just look like some primitive and underdeveloped insects. Secondary reason why I want to play the Species, something other people have also told me, it's just way more fun the more Vaurca are playing at a single time - I would assume so because, the larger amounts of vaurca play, especially if they are from a variety of different Hives and Broods, the more likely it is to see some passive and natural conflict in the form talking and constant bickering/mocking or other very interesting interactions! It'd also be very interesting to me to play a Ta and provide other Vaurcae with guidance, seeing as I have a command whitelist. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I would say the biggest part in terms of roleplay here is their very different mindset, while Humans (and their Parents, of course) have a huge influence on their childhood, have to put thought into what they want to be and heavily influence their education by themselves the young vaurca in the different hives are bred for specific purposes, where they are bred at specific locations and properly trained within colourful Virtual Reality worlds preparing them for their purpose. Putting smells into the foreground since they are highly sensitive to those - they are a vital part of their communication, whereas humans usually just connect simple emotions with different contrasts of smells, vaurca are able to identify others by their pheromones, their smell being even so sensitive that they could tell the difference of natural minerals just by how they smell. Another major difference is that within a Hive, the vaurca are purposely spread into Types as they are bred - there's major differences between, say, Workers, the Ka - which highly prioritize their work for the Hive and have a biology which allows them to travel through and work in harsh conditions for a much longer time while they heavily fear and avoid any violence leaving that to their Warriors, the Za - which may not be as stable in harsh conditions but are very efficient in combat, as their biology (with having weaponry physically attached to their bodies, for example) pretty much restricts them to that purpose. Relations between two Vaurca also heavily differ from relations between two Humans. Where Humans, even from conflicting worlds, can still be very close to one and another and value each other as friends, Vaurcae are very loyal to their Queen's will - meaning, if the relations between two hives are bad, they will collide and come in conflict with the Vaurcae from another Hive more. Character Name: Ka'Akaix'Zhula K'lax (K'lax Hive, Vetju Brood - Shaft Miner) Please provide a short backstory for this character: Being bred in the Human year 2457 and calling Tret in the Uueoa-Esa System of the Badlands their home, Zhula has been trained under harsh conditions within Virtual Reality where failure was already predetermined to make them what they are now - an efficient miner and gatherer for their pragmatic Iron Queen. Zhula is an unbound Ka within the K'laxian Hive under Iron Queen Vetju's Brood, serving alongside Unathi of the Izweski Nation. Possessing one of the most important pieces of technology within the Brood, a K'laxian language processor augment to understand and communicate in the language of Sinta'Unathi, Zhula has primarily been working around young Unathi miners and gatherers which are held to a higher standard, the view of Zhula in the eyes of those Unathi was usually pretty frowned upon with the Unathi, comments like 'Working alongside such an insect? A shame for us.' not being unusual - though they were very much aware of Zhula's capabilities, due to a much better and more specialized training within VR than the young Unathi have ever experienced and of course highly sensitive smell to quickly and efficiently search for specific materials. The young Unathi around Zhula have usually sneakily left them in charge of mining expeditions, though keeping the thought behind it hidden with reasonings such as 'If one has to endanger themselves, it will be you before us.' as to not embarass themselves - leading to much more successful expeditions with Zhula finding even the most ominous hiding spots and ways towards minerals. Primarily wanting to avoid combat and prove themselves to their hive, Zhula quickly realized the usefulness of the Unathi for them - while they were more of a sneaky gatherer, wanting to experience highest efficiency in mineral gathering, the young Unathi wanted to be seen as strong, fearless warriors, when they encountered Combat, Zhula usually scoured across the sides leaving the Unathi to deal with the threats while gathering and searching for points of interest leading in a mutual success and higher appreciation and tolerance from the Unathi expedition members, but far away of any friendship between them. The constant successes and high-yields with the minimal losses in their expeditions have caused Hephaestus to become interesting, as they are constantly in search for such efficient and cheap labour, providing less rights, less payment for the much more efficient work of Vaurcae in comparison with Humans. This has lead to Zhula's transfer to the Horizon, with Hephaestus thinking they could greatly use their mining skills in the search of Phoron thus strengthening their negotiational foundation within the chainlink and using this stronger foundation for the growth of their power. What do you like about this character? Zhula seems like a very interesting and fun character for me to play next to the other character's on the Horizon - working in a mutual use relationship together with Unathi (pretty much a 'I use you for my purpose, and thus you can use me for yours.') and experiencing the Unathi's discrimination pretty much the entirety of their work-life, the Horizon may bring a lot of interesting change and interactions for them. Seeing as there are a lot of tolerant and nice people as opposed to just the one's discriminating Vaurcae, it will be a big turn in their life. Bringing their stories among the human folk and creating the possible for unique and fun roleplay atmosphere's with this character also seems very fun to me, seeing as with their life they have a lot to tell, a lot to be ashamed of (like the Unathi using them) but also a lot to be proud of. Lastly, I think putting a bit of variety around every department makes roleplay way more fun for everyone involved. Pretty much every department, except operations, has their Vaurca players - I'd like to bring change to that! How would you rate your role-playing ability? Judging from the feedback I get from other players I interact with, my characters are liked by a lot of people, I also try to put variety to them - while my Executive Officer who worked her entire life within Human Resource's is polite and always friendly, my Operations Manager is a rugged Hephaestus employee. This also largely depends on how much sleep I had and how much motivation I have, though I only really play when I'm motivated to do so and want to interact with people around - sometimes, when a bit tired and exhausted I keep that contained within my own department though. Seeing as I also passed my Command Trial with no complications and received my Command Whitelist, I'd rate myself as a good roleplayer, though not always a perfect one. I'd say easily around a 8/10. Notes: Thanks a lot for reading through this. *chitter *clack *clack
  9. I did mention that you handled the issue that I 'mainly' brought up - what happened in the round was just what finally brought me to making the complaint, it was not just the issue within the mentioned round, I took the screenshots just as an example. It's the generally bad play from him within Security that I witnessed over a lot of rounds now that being his use of excessive force against antagonists round after round and generally validhunt-y behavior.
  10. Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account: Loorey Character Name(s): Jennavia Levine (XO), Inaya Hall (CMO), Casey Wildkins (OM), Serenity Anderson (Engineer) AI Name(s): Sophie (AI), MIA (Engi- and Mediborg) Discord username + tag: Reformed Cat#7805 Age: 19 Timezone: Central European Time (UTC+01) When are you on Aurora?: Depends on the day to be honest. When I'm totally free, I can be around at all times of the day, whether that is afternoon, evening, the late night or the early morning my time. I often also sit around and observe rounds, seeing what things people are up to when I do other things or just do not have the energy to play. Experience How long have you played SS13?: Since I created my BYOND account in 2018, so round and about 5 years now. How long have you played on Aurora: I dipped in my toes every now and then, since I started playing SS13 as a whole. Sometimes more, sometimes less though before start of this year not too actively, but I found my comfortable place in the community and now it's kind of my main hangout. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: I would say I have a very good understanding of mechanics, generally speaking for Space Station 13 overall and Baystation-specific mechanics. I played a lot on Baystation and Colonial Marines (which is heavily butchered Baycode) when I first started playing Space Station 13, I dipped my toes into quite a lot of servers every now and then when I was still a SS13 newbie, though it was usually servers centered around Baystation based code. Nowadays I really only actively play on Aurora and Colonial Marines, since I'm active around most of the departments in-game I would say that I know quite a lot mechanics-wise, added to that I often code-dive, check out things here and there and plan on contributing more to the codebase - which tightens up my mechanical knowledge. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: I helped administrating on a small and niche server quite a bit ago, though the community really wasn't that big. Besides that I helped with Development (but mainly running the Server and everything back-end) on a Fallout 13 community once (Yes, judge me later!), and considering I often times spin up a local server to test things here and there, I am quite familiar with Moderation and Administration tools ranging from the simple things, over the secrets, logs and debugging tools. Have you read through the criteria thread; (link) - and believe that you mark off all the criteria?: I believe that I mark everything off! Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: Nope. No server bans, no job bans and no warnings on my record. Personality Why do you play SS13?: Honestly I am one of the tiders, I saw the Youtube video from Mandalore about Space Station 13, which really sparked my interest since I usually played Garry's Mod (Yes, you can judge me later for that one too!) on Serious Roleplay servers at the time but have never seen a game with such in-depth (even if on a clonky engine) mechanics. Interacting with such a large variety of different players with different playstyle in a game that is actually mechanically pleasing besides being text-based is just something I really loved the idea of, so it got me hooked! Why do you play on Aurora?: To begin with, Aurora has a community of mostly really nice and laid-back players, players that are very welcoming too, I remember first joining as a Physician back when I was still relatively new to SS13 as a whole, totally messing up but instead of being yelled at, the CMO at the time told me it's fine, slowly teaching me the ropes of everything and just being nice all around, whereas on other servers I would have probably gotten flamed in LOOC. The story-telling, large variety of different characters and pages full of Lore as a backbone of the Server are probably the other primary reason, you always meet new interesting characters from players that really put effort into the design of their characters. As last reason, I really like Baycode and it's mechanics as opposed to other codebases, and I have gotten fairly familiar with them over the years so Baycode based Servers are usually where I played on the most. What do moderators do?: Moderators ensure that the community is moderated - meaning they make sure that rules are followed by all community members and standards are upheld so that everyone can have a enjoyable time playing ensuring that nobody goes over the edge with what they do, does not make others uncomfortable or just totally kills the fun for everyone else. Besides making sure that the rules are being followed and rounds go smoothly - Moderators are expected to help players with their questions, thus requiring a more in-depth knowledge of game mechanics, the lore, regulations and all that matters to make sure a new player has a smooth entry into the Server. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: Being a Moderator on Aurora in my eyes means being a player that is granted the trust and given the tools to regulate the server, being a role-model to everyone else by upholding community rules and roleplay standards, whether that is by OOC or IC behaviour, both goes a long way, especially for the more trusted members in a Community and making sure that everyone has a smooth and fun time playing - we are all here to have fun and the Moderation / Administration Teams are there to help with that, whether it's with the points I have mentioned beforehand or by lending players in need a hand when they forget about a mechanic, are new to a department or generally new to the whole server. Space Station 13 is a scary sandbox for new players, especially with a more punishing medical system and so much lore and background knowledge - Moderators and Admins are there to make sure the scary sandbox turns into a fun learning experience. Why do you want to be a moderator?: Honestly? The primary reason was probably the announcement on Discord from Read. Having actively played and integrated with the community for a longer time now, getting my first whitelist - that being AI - and then also getting into the Command Team motivated me to give back more to the community by helping players more extensively and taking some weight off of the shoulders of the existing Moderation and Administration Team. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?: There's quite a few qualities that I possess which do definitely have a positive impact on a position as Moderator, the most important being the ability to work autonomously - something happens? No problem, I'm going to try my best to resolve it smoothly, whether it's helping someone for however long, code-diving to find out mechanics or resolving conflicts. Though, having the ability to work autonomously does not mean I'm afraid to ask if I cannot solve something myself, moderating and administrating a server is a team effort, if you'd do everything alone you would probably just drive yourself into stress which would impact your responses and performance - which brings me to my next quality - which is the ability to properly work in a Team. Having a Team is nice but if you're a person that poorly integrates into said team or is a complete loner it just does not work. I often take initiative in situations, try to give guidance, have tasks evenly spread between team members and myself to balance out workloads. My last quality I want to mention, and one of the most important ones? Being able to drop any bias in situations of conflict. When there are multiple parties that have issues with each other, it's important to listen to all sides of the story, no matter how ridiculous they might be, and then make a unbiased decision that's solely based on the actions from the parties and rules of the server - it's something I think I am well capable of. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?: It'd be a lie to say that I am perfect and do not react to these things at all, we are all humans, we are all impacted by stress and need breaks, are all confronted with our own or other people's anger and have to manage it and all take a minute to think about it if we've been insulted. Though, when you play a lot of video games in all kinds of different communities, you realize that some forms of anger are totally pointless and some insults just come out of thin air simply because something did not go as the other party expected it to go, I learned to quickly ignore being insulted - this is the internet, where everyone just openly says anything they want and sometimes people just want to antagonize you with no reasoning. When I'm talking to someone that is angry, I try to calm them down because if you're angry, you automatically say more regrettable things. In situations where I need to keep a cool head, I do so, ignoring insults coming from people and looking away from their anger. I personally do not think any of this will impact my performance or influence situations in a bad way. I know what real toxicity is, I used to played League of Legends for a long time, and I think that most Space Station 13 players are relatively tame compared to what you experience there. Anything Else You Want to Add: Thanks for taking your time reading the application!
  11. Occasionally playing Operations Manager every now and then, I see the issues with the current bounties, honestly. I would happily take a glance over the current bounty list and modify it and also make any other code changes, should it be wanted, since there could be a lot of possible changes, additions and removals in my eyes. For example, the Phoron bounties? They barely give any credits for what phoron is actually worth, especially the phoron sheet one which I have never seen anyone complete. I also do not see the problem with more additions to it, to give everyone on the Ship more to do if there's nothing actively happening, for example: - As Noble said, of course, giving machinists more to do and not just randomly wrench around Exosuits, like adding those (with specific parts required) to the current list of possible bounties. - Adding something like machines that have to be built, like.. "...ship us a finished Telecommunications Hub because of reason X and Y!" just all sorts of machines, which would bring in Science and Engineering (or only science if they ignore Engineering and build the machines themselves) to do more for Operations, since most of the things right now are just stale "Print part X and ship it to us.". Maybe even altering the bounty system itself in such a way that it's not only possible to get bare credits for the completion of bounties, but also shipments of items as rewards. Or in general adding a small trading system based on the current Region.
  12. I wouldn't mind a change like this myself, honestly. That would defeat the point, though would probably make more sense than how I planned on balancing it if implementing the change, the normal threshold at which a bone has the chance to just break again is brute damage on said limb of 30 or more (though, this also involves rng of course), I'd say give the ability to fix all the brute damage on an external body part, but lower this number for every step taken in the related surgical procedure, so the limb has the chance to break faster for the rest of the round.
  13. BYOND Key: Loorey Game ID: cn0-cRxh (and many, many more) Player Byond Key/Character name: Hans Jaeger (Ckey: Tzui5020) Staff involved: MattAtlas Reason for complaint: Right, as foreword, it is not just the round mentioned above that was just in all honestly the round that made the barrel overflow for myself. This is sort of a Character and Player complaint in one. It's a lot of time that I had to put up with it now, from both the side as Antagonist and as Crewmember. Hans is a very, very unreasonable and inconsistent character that makes decisions nobody would actually even consider. It goes from things like him constantly walking through the Medical Bay with an Exosuit in a round, then telling me "No, it is red alert" when asked to leave (there was nothing happening in medical) over the constant use of excessive force against people up to just straight up validhunting and being the first to join a Mutiny against Command if they try to go with any Merc teams gimmick. A gem from the mentioned round, that I Ahelped for: Hans surely is not the only security character like this, there are many more that act completely unreasonable with some things going completely against the type of character they play, but he is one of the prime suspects of this. Even if armed and whatever not (Adrian knew Wrestling and started throwing hands at Hans in the above picture, then tried firing a tachyon rifle, which the (as I was told by XO, Captain and Investigator ICly 'totally reasonable') response to was just completely unloading his mag into him pb. There's not much other hard evidence of any actions I currently have, I'm probably gonna start recording my rounds from now on just because of this and start uploading as necessary, but it's just not cool. There's no way to excuse what happened in the pictures above for example and this is not the first time it happened - things like these happen a lot of antag rounds and are just shrugged off by antags because they think it is normal at this point. I highly doubt I am the only one having these complaints, since I've heard of players just not wanting to play some of their characters anymore with the current manifest. Thanks for looking over this, no matter the outcome. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? - I did Adminhelp it, Matt handled it or well, I was told it was handled. What actually happened in the end? I do not know. Approximate Date/Time: - The above mentioned round on the 4th of June, 2023 (2465-6-4 about 1800 Server Time).
  14. Hallo. Same here, I need access too. Thanks c:
  15. A very good player from what I have seen so far, nice to have around. Really displays higher Roleplay standards instead of nodding everything off, as I have seen today while staging a Rescue Operation as Bridgie. Has shown much competency, coordinated security and relayed all relevant information to their team properly, communicated with them, equipped them properly for the job. I'd be happy to see them on the Roster s HoS in Command. +1 from me
  16. BYOND key: - Loorey Discord Username: - Reformed Cat#7805 Character names: - Sophie (Artificial Intelligence) A very personal, always polite and helpful Ship Intelligence, Entertaining people with Information and Fun facts while working on all tasks given in the Background. - MIA (Borg, usually Medical, sometimes Engineering and Mining) Overall a very cold, always verbose Shipbound striving for perfection and efficiency in tasks given while trying to somehow integrate with the Horizon's Crew. - Jennavia Levine (Bridge Crewman) A very polite and energetic young woman that puts passion into her workplace, trying to improve operations, take weight off of the Command Crew by doing all kinds of work for them and being helpful to everyone all around, whether Horizon Crew or outsiders. - Serenity Anderson (Engineer) Laid back and casual, but usually pretty quiet Engineer employed by Hephaestus. Involved in a heavy workplace incident back at the Ship she was employed on previously which has caused her to become way more of an introverted personality, from a totally happy and healthy soul. How long have you been playing on Aurora? - A very long time, but on-and-off. I started initially playing back when I first started with Space Station 13 initially, back in 2018. I Had a pretty long period of inactivity between then and the present time but occasionally played to keep myself updated on things. So, more actively again, I have been playing since start of this year. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? - Received none. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame? - In my eyes, a Head of Staff is a personality displaying leadership and emitting trust to their fellow players. A player that puts more effort into their roleplay and story building than the average standard. But also someone that displays great mechanical knowledge of their department, a great Teacher that should be able to bring over all related Knowledge about their department to anyone in need and optimally also someone that knows more than just the basics. Head of Staff Positions should be taken by players that heavily prefer the roleplay aspect of Aurora over the mechanical aspect. A Chief Engineer should not be the first person to step into a Phoron Fire and be the Hero extinguishing it, but should rather coordinate their Departmental Team to deal with the issue at hand, assess damage, create a report for the other Heads of Staff and the rest of the Crew. The Head of Security shouldn't be the pointman in an assault in an attempt to display all of his strength, but should rather be the Brain of Operations in the backline, creating tactics for their Team, negotiating and trying to keep damage at a minimal. This goes for every department, and I think that Players need the right OOC mindset to play these roles first. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them? - As already pointed out above, you are a pillar of Leadership and Knowledge for your fellow Players and a point of Trust that they know they can approach if they have anything that bothers them. You are not only a source of extensive Knowledge, maybe even more than the Wiki can provide after learning all of the tricks around your department, but also someone in a Position of Power, thus this means a lot of responsibilities lay on your shoulders as a Departmental Head and that your fellow players will expect more from you. By no means should a whitelisted player use this Power to solely let their power play over other people and show them "I am in Command, you are to obey everything I say". A Command Player should use their power wisely to engage their Department in Roleplay more and should always be open for feedback from their fellow players. While within Command, you get the Power of controlling the flow of the round, what happens on the Horizon. You have the power to change the Round for all of it's players and even off-ship roles depending on your actions. Always keeping a cool head, making unbiased decisions and discussing these decisions with your Department and the fellow Heads of Staff are just some of the key qualities a Command Player should posess. As they are higher up in the Chain of Command they should act as a Role Model to all of their fellow Players, teach them about the game if they're new, expand their knowledge if they are old. Since I personally do have quite the extensive mechanical and roleplay knowledge about Aurora, I would see myself fit into the roles I want to play, helping players out and making tactical decisions - I myself think that I am more than capable of filling in a Command Slot on the Roster and upholding high standards in terms of Roleplay. Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon. - Jennavia Anna-Maria Levine, Bridge Crewman aboard the SCCV Horizon, formerly employed within Human Resources for NanoTrasen: Jennavia has always been passionate about the work she puts in, no matter where and for whom, always displaying who she represents in the best light. Being lucky and growing up in a wealthy family on Biesel, her father being a well-renowned Irdris Broker and her mother working within the lower ranks of Executive Management at NanoTrasen - she has been able to enjoy a highly prestigious Education gathering a Bachelor such as Master in the fields of Human Resources Management along the way. Starting with a Job as Junior Human Resources Assistant while finishing her Bachelor at an Idris branch office in Phoenixport on Biesel and rather quickly moving up to the position of a local Human Resources Manager for Idris in Phoenixport after getting her Master, she was rather quickly approached by NanoTrasen hiring agents with a job offer at the NanoTrasen Headquarters in Mendell City. After getting the opportunity to work within as Executive Human Resources Assistant with NanoTrasen at such a prestigious place her employers quickly noticed the passion and overly positive work ethic of Jennavia, continuing to monitor her behaviour which has been more than positive they have offered here a transfer not many NanoTrasen employees witness, right to the NTCC Odin in the same position as before. While working on the NTCC Odin, a management station in ownership of NanoTrasen, a major influential player within the SCC, she has come into more contact with the SCC's Projects, especially the Horizon in this case. Influenced by her father, working for Idris and travelling around the many sectors of space to uphold business relationships and the fact that she's been working aboard the Odin she has grown more and more interested in work aboard a Spaceship travelling the through far outer reaches, she has approached her employer, NanoTrasen, with the idea of Bridge Position aboard the Horizon. NanoTrasen being a major player in the SCC of course used their influence to make it possible after the managing executives withing Jennavia's department aboard the Odin agreed. Mutually agreeing that NanoTrasen will cover the costs for the extensive additional training required in Shuttle and Flagship Piloting and everything that comes with it, the SCC and NanoTrasen have, three years later, officially signed the transfer contracts for Jennavia to work aboard the Horizon. Happily beginning her work as Bridge Crewman aboard the Horizon, she is now bringing all of her passion and past experiences to the Crew, showing support and assistance everywhere she can and trying to improve Operations where possible. Caused all by her will to improvement, adventurism and curiosity, she is now happily under the flag of the Conglomerate serving aboard the Horizon. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? - I mainly look to be playing Executive Officer with my Bridge Crewman, Jennavia Levine. Besides that a Corporate Liaison representing NanoTrasen's interests. I'm going into a little more depth on who these characters are in the section below the next one. Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? - I have familiarized myself with the Command Roles and all of their responsibilities, even those I do not plan on playing yet. In particular I've familiarized myself with all of the mechanical and roleplay aspects of the Executive Officer and Corporate Liaison roles, which I mainly plan on playing. And related aspects such as the Horizon's Chain of Command, Regulations and aspects of the current Lore that influence the Horizon. Additionally I would say I am overall very familiar with all of the in-game mechanics through playing the AI and Cyborg roles, diving my head into code when I wondered how something worked and also messing with all kinds of things on a local server. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking: - Jennavia Levine as Executive Officer With a long and pristine History in Human Resources and Financial Operations with the Idris Corporation and NanoTrasen she has the skills required to enter the Position, always striving for self-improvement. - Jayce Auckmann as NanoTrasen Corporate Executive A rather grim looking, middle-aged man loyal to NanoTrasen and representing their interests throughout the many sectors of space, recently transferred to the Horizon to advise the Command Crew of the Horizon and the Conglomerate on Executive matters. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? - Of course. Have you linked your BYOND account to the Forums? - Yes. Extra notes: - Thanks to everyone reading the Application, actually. Getting Feedback, whether that is positive or telling me how I may improve with my OOC Attitude, the IC Playstyle of my Characters or the Application and how I may change it is very important to me. Thanks, a lot!
  17. Definitely a strong +1 here. Played a pretty populated round as Bridge Officer today where they were the only member in Command. Was quite a chaotic and fun round. Very nice person overall, makes good decisions even in hot situations, knows how to make use of the other Crew Members around and lead the way rather than charging right into the front by themselves, which really makes a good command player in my eyes. Quick thinking and always communicative, actively talking on comms rather than staying silent most of the round. I don't see why there should be any reason not to get them into command permanently. Great player overall.
  18. BYOND key: Loorey Discord name/id: Reformed Cat#7805 Borg / AI names: The Borg that I actively play is MIA. My AI name would become 'Sophie', no acronyms or whatever. Have you read the Aurora wiki page about the AI?: Yes. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Simply put, I like the thought of playing an Artificial Intelligence bound to a ship assisting with matters where needed, which is why I mainly play Borg. The AI Role is mechanically very powerful and thus opens up a lot of possibilities for Roleplay, both for the Station Crew but also for Antagonists in supporting their gimmicks. This is where I'd like to bring in my friendly and supportive AI Unit Sophie, taking advantage of opportunities to improve roleplay and putting a smile on people's faces in the round. Overall, Artificial Intelligence is very interesting and has lots of potential to be shaped behavior wise, which leads to many fun situations from AI to AI. Having a large variety of different AI Models played by various people is a great way to spice things up and not have the same interactions over and over again, in my opinion. I found great fun playing AI on various other communities, and I am having a great time playing my Borg around the people on Aurora. Additionally I would say pretty comfortable with Station-bound Synthetics mechanically, as in their knowing their capabilities and functions, such as various departments. Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they?: Received none. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action?: Of course.
