Sandvich
BYOND key:Sandvich123 Character names: Lynsey Feufer How long have you been playing on Aurora?: A year or so, I have been very active this past month Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: To help when I see no heads are here to help the players and the antags have fun Why did you come to Aurora?: I was tired of playing hippe, and goon was the same. I wanted to do something different Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is how Aurora works, it is being some one you are not and selling the idea of it. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: OOC is for helping new people that don't understand many things, or explain how you messed up with out meaning to. It can also be used to learn things you didn't know. There is no shame in being an experienced play but not knowing how to set the engines. Or use a pump shot gun. Heads of staffs are to tie the game together. With out them, people, security officers would beat each other and who is going to stop them? Its is also for talking about a plan for the shift with other heads. A hos with a team of officers coordinated with head of engineers can stop a blob. Heads of staff are the deciders of what happens to departments. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: [Whitelisted players must act a bit more mature in occ, and in IC. That means, they can't do an ooc mistake that a cadet would do. Such as telling something other people didn't see or know about. OOC should only be used by heads to help and joke around here and there Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name:Lynsey Feufer Character age:31 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Lynsey was born to a lower class family, with his father serving in the military he enlisted following in his foot steps. Lynsey Feufer, being a young hot shot at the academy was quickly voted most likely to be favored as an NT representative. Having some of the best leadership scores and marksmen scores, he was quickly nabbed by a crack shot ERT team In the massive wave attack of 2453 , Feufer was involved with two attacks, the first one in his own academy. It was said he took command as a Tpr after his Cmdr was hit and soon helped evacuated and organized the other cadets for a defense. The other time he was a Cmdr in an ERT team, learning much from his experience with his first squad in command, he quickly evacuated the station and took out the threat. Many higher ups in the NT line noticed his skill, and the quickly offered him a job at NSS AROUA in 2456. Just two years after its construction. Seeing the way NT worked, he became loyal almost instantly to NT. Seeing the way he could help the station with his skills in the ERT, he consider applying for the head of security position. His goal was to help teach the officers on station what he knew. . What do you like about this character?: Lynsey Feufer is a character that fells like home, many people recall his simple but sharp look. Feufer is a old shoe that I started playing with a year ago. What do you dislike about this character?: Well, the name does sound a bit like a woman's, but I don't care much for that What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: Lynsey has taken command in may situations, and loves doing it. With his military commander background, it comes natural that he would. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: A 7/10, why? Well no one has ever told me it was bad. I do good, my only set back is my grammar. Though no one has called me out on it yet. Though nothing is special about Lynsey .Extra notes: I have worked hard to correct his application, if you have something mean to say about it, don't forget, we all started somewhere. Link to comment
carlafriendly3
This application seems genuine and to the point. However, I am curious about the character's accomplishments on the Aurora and how that will translate to becoming a head of staff. Overall, I hope Lynsey Feufer makes the cut! Link to comment
F_sphere
I rarely ever do this, but I'm going to have to give this a -1. My experience with Lynsey within security has been round-ruining. Every round has been a mad dash to get assigned to the HoS position through the HoP, regardless of the views of security. Your roleplay has been subpar, often ending with one or multiple players unsatisfied with their interactions with you. At least one of those times has involved admin interference and no short amount of salt from involved parties (not entirely your fault of course, but you did nothing to prevent further escalation of any situations). I think that before you're granted access to a vital role like Head of Security, you need to improve on two things: first, proper roleplay, because even though security are robust and protectors of the crew and all that, you've often done things outside the proper chain of command and with disregard to realistic interaction to further your own role; second, you need to understand to play with others in a way that benefits everyone. Working in security, just like the rest of Aurora, should be fun and interesting, and nobody should ever be left feeling as though they've been cheated or has their round ruined because you love the HoS position so much. Edit: it looks like you just recently made another whitelist app and got a few -1's. Did you make this one to hide that or was there an issue with the first app? Link to comment
mrimatool
A lot of my thoughts on this application were aptly summed up by F_Sphere. Watching Lynsey ignore Clone Memory rules and do things like shout “FUCKTARDS” at his fellow security staff as Interim HoS when they disagree with him has pretty much sealed my opinion on the character - other stuff such as ignoring reasonable explanations and just being thirsty for an arrest rather than taking any kind of initiative - a mindless drone security officer is an annoyance - a mindless drone Head of Security is a problem. Try to remember that the other people you play with are in fact people and that their enjoyment of the round is just as important as your own. It’s nothing more experience won’t cure -1 Link to comment
Saudus
I don't play sec so haven't interacted with you "in person" (have seen you around once or twice but not much more) but I just spent a round actively observing as a ghost where you were interim HoS. There was a lot of weird things happening in this round I observed but I observed 2 things you did that gave me real concern. The first was when you went to engineering alone after the AI made people aware the raiders were there. The AI had bolted doors which you requested unbolted, entered and walked straight into a raider sniper's line of fire. Engaged in a short gun battle where you both shot at each other and you needed to go to medical as a result. You knew they were there, had a department currently gearing up but went there alone. Not what command staff is supposed to do. The second was a bit later when you were in medical being treated for a damaged lung or something similar (hit by 1-2 sniper shots in the chest). Not sure if it was because of the officers got rolled over by the raiders or the engine delaminating, but you then decided to get up and go back out again. The doctors protested, stating you would die to which you said something on the lines of "Well maybe that's what needs to be happen then". You didn't stay out long, I didn't see why. The entire thing just screamed movie hero oneliner, not proper RP. I'm not going to -1 just yet because I may well have missed something regarding your motivations and such during these events and would like to hear from you on them. Link to comment
Azande
Consistently broke IC in OOC rules today. Roleplayed poorly. No. Link to comment
Azande
Also, your backstory is snowflake trash, and I am using the word trash not to be rude - but because it is poorly written, mary-sueing and basically breaks every sensible character building rule. You essentially have a perfect unflawed character with a bunch of corporate status that doesn't exist - nor does their backstory align with lore. Link to comment
Brutishcrab51
I want to say that it's unacceptable and unrealistic to claim that your character is an ERT Commander. Even claiming to have worked in an ERT is a huge, huge stretch. And not one we'd appreciate or approve of in a Command whitelist, or any whitelist's backstory. An ERT's command personnel are higher ranking than Station Command, and a Captain in the right situation. An ERT Commander operates on the same level as a Central Command Internal Affairs Agent. And, there was no great attack in 2553 (Syndicate or otherwise) that we have in our lore. That seems a bit of a stretch as well. I want you to rethink this application background, and the background of your character. EDIT: I checked with our Loremaster. There were no news-worthy attacks occurring in Biesel in 2553. UnknownMurder
I want to add to Brutish's feedback and that I am in complete agreement with him. I want to post a positive feedback for once. You need to take a look at these. Regarding Emergency Response Team, you'll see why we said that this was a huge stretch. Compare where you're at right now (Security Officer) and what you stated that you were an Emergency Response Team. Not only this is a huge stretch but it is a leap over important occupations. I'll say this to help you understand our community better. It is undeniable that we have noticed that you did not carefully proofread your application. "NSS AROUA in 2456. Just two years after its construction." This is sort of an embarrassing mistake. You also should touch up your format so that it is easier to read for all of us. What do I mean by this? "Name: John Doe". Don't do this, instead do this, "Name: John Doe". Also, you should fluff out and keep your character from becoming Mary Sue, a person who can overcome and solve everything. A good Mary Sue reference would be Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Dorthy from Wizard of the Oz, Kirito from Sword Art Online, Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tail. Your OOC answers are very basic but we would appreciate if we had more information than as it is at the moment. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Emergency_Response_Team https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Nanotrasen_Corporation I wanted to post a positive feedback for once. You know, they say if you try. It'll just work out. I say Neutral. Feel free to contact me for help. Link to comment
ToasterStrudel
As a staff member, my interactions with you have been mixed, from my experience your Security Officer quickly jumps the gun and is very impulsive, your RP is passable at best and generally speaking I wouldn't really want to see you as an HoS until your attitude and actions changed. Though this is purely my experiences. Reading over your story, there's not much more I can add that has not been said already, it's snowflakey, over the top, unrealistic, and seems like it should be an application for some MRP whitelist, definitely not on a HRP server. Massive -1 from me until I see improvement both in the application and general server behavior Link to comment
