How long have you been playing on the Aurora?: Around 2-3 years
Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: I wish to play roles such as IAA and HoP.
Why did you come to Aurora?: I really like how this server deals with RP and I felt like this server is a good server to learn how to play.
Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Of Course.
Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Yes, a few notes and a temporary synth ban, they were a long time ago and I feel they should have no factor in this application since I have changed since then.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay is basically people telling a story by acting as someone/thing else. Roleplay should not only be engaging for the person, but should allow others to help make it even better and to make a good experience into a great one for everyone. A good role-player uses the people around them to make a good story for everyone.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Heads of Staff guide the rounds in most occasions, they can change the course of the round by giving orders and other tasks a head of staff would do (varies by role), they can make or break a round usually, and are expected to help improve the round experience for everyone.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Heads of Staff are considered the most knowledgeable or their department icly and oocly, they will serve as a role-model to help new players get used to their job and learn the ropes, and are expected to be a rolemodel regarding server rules. They are held in a higher regard in the community and are trusted to make important decisions, they are expected to be a good role-model and help other players when they can.

Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? Well currently the merchant conglomerate Virgo Transportation has arrived at the system, and I feel that my character B.E.N would likely make extremely sure that Directive 8 is followed to prevent any loss of trading for Nanotrasen and possibly Tau Ceti as a whole. I also feel that some crew members would resist the idea of a IAA IPC and may interfere it in it's job directly or indirectly (not antag-wise, like ignoring it and the like.)

What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? IAA and HoP.

Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking.: A new one named B.E.N (IAA), they are a no-nonsense machine that is extremely thorough and hard-working. They however usually push people away from relationships due to it's obsession with work, and isn't very good with socializing in general.

How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I feel I do very well when it comes to roleplaying with synthetics, and can usually do very well with my Cyborg and AI characters. I feel I am doing ok with IPC characters although there may be some room for improvement. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Of course. Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes.

Extra notes:

I am slightly worried about my role as CCIA possibly being a factor in my application (unlikely but good to cover your bases), I would like to have anyone who reviews this application and providing feedback to not use my staff role as a factor for consideration of your response to this app, and I greatly encourage any and all feedback so I may better improve myself.

One thing I want to mention here is how I saw WAR act the other day.

Ninja round, by all accounts the ninja had been peaceful, was mute. I spawn in, WAR right after me. I'm being told about the ninja, who's sitting and communicating in the Brig with the Cadet/FT, and WAR rolls in, sees the ninja, and immediately issues me an ion rifle and tells me to threaten the ninja with it. I didn't do that, I just kinda stood there, but it struck me as incredibly bad form to roll into a peaceful situation and start dishing out weaponry and orders that could escalate the situation wildly.

I understand which round you are talking about, so I will say what I saw in my point of view and why I gave you that Ion. I spawn in around 1 hour and a half (or just 1 hr, cant remember). I see the radio saying how a teleporting person has stolen items from vault. I figured that it was pretty far in the round so I ask for a status report. I get no response while I am heading towards the brig, and see security crowded by the ninja. I once again ask what is going on, and the FT tells me this person showed up and is mute. I was in the mindset that security was confronting the person about the vault contents, and I noticed that they had a hardsuit on. I felt that it would be ok if I gave an officer a ion rifle with orders to fire only if they are hostile. I explicitly tell then that it should not even be unholstered and that they should only ever use it if the person goes hostile (The person stole from vault, can teleport around, and to my characters eye god knows what else or more importantly what it took from vault).

When the officer asked me why I gave them a rifle, I told them that the individual has been claimed to have stolen from the vault and had a high-tech hardsuit (hence the teleporting).

After I learned more of the situation I went lax and started chatting with the ninja (via paper) and overall I felt the situation did not escalate unreasonably based on what I saw and heard when I uncryo'd.

I apologize if you feel that what I did was not acceptable, and I assure you that if what I did was bad then I will adapt to accommodate to this.
