Scheveningen Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 Thralling != vampirism, Garn. Turning someone into a vampire does not make them obliged to serve you.

Embracing off the bat could probably work. I do not see too many players willing to roll with suddenly becoming a vampire. A lot of you nerds purposefully resist cult conversions to death as it is. Make thralling a cheaper power and unlocked earlier imo. ChairRPing with a psych and a captain for 2 hours only entertains the psych and the captain. It's a waste of a slot.

Carver Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 Being embraced is generally far more interesting than being thralled. The former opens up a lot of potential RP for the 'converted' whilst the latter just heavily constricts it.

I think both have merits for interesting roleplay depending on what you're looking for. This isn't the thread about complaining how thralling ruins the game, either. For my part, I think that the Embrace is mostly not used because it's so difficult to get the ability. It should absolutely not be an automatic thing that happens just for sucking someone's blood, but rather something that you can do by choice much earlier on. Uncontrollable antagonist creation is a recipe for a very toxic environment, especially if they are under no obligation to cooperate. Edited March 15, 2019 by Kaed
