Yeah but the difference is when i say "there is probably a better way" my answer would be "more turrets" or "more things to fight". I feel like you think it would be mean scrapping the turrets altogether when i liked what they did. The turrets where killed very easily once they learned that ballistics where better.

By security, yes. The issue with the turrets are that they have ranged attacks that do burns, attack super rapidly and over long distance. "More things to fight" is almost never a bad thing, I love combat, but make something that everyone can fight. A swarm of space bats, space carp, hivebots, to name a few. Though, if you do like the turrets, would it be possible to make them less buff in the future using VarEdit?

Ok well i am sorry but i am going to stick my initial reaction. The only take away i have from this complaint is that you did not personally enjoy an event i did. That is fine.

Why does it have to be actionable? Just use this complaint as a footnote to remember in the future.

I would argue that's not what a complaint is for. Complaints should generally concern misconduct or rule violations. Running an event in a manner you disagree with is not any of that, unless you wish to argue that this was adminbus or not at all an RP event.

But sure, footnote made. Proposing to close this unless annyone has anything else to say on the matter.

Where else would a complaint of this type be made, then?

Hello, I have a few things to say about this.

1. In terms of the pylons, these were a pretty good idea in terms of allowing the people who wanted "action" in their round to get their slice of the enjoyment pie, sure, pylons are powerful, but I doubt they were a dealbreaker for sec.

2. In terms of event size, to put in context, an example of a large event would be when Sol invaded the Aurora when a BSA was spawned in it, and took over the station and used the firing array to target Mendel City and the NTCC Odin

3. Footnotes are not in the realm of staff complaints, in fact, I would argue that this is something where you would talk to the Event Creator themselves and provide feedback, instead of using a staff complaint to try to force them to not make events that some people don't like (which is impossible, you cannot appease everyone.). I am worried that this complaint might create a precedent of admins or other staff members being wary of trying anything new or doing events in fear of one person not liking how they set up their holoplants, and be the target of a staff complaint to punish them for their crime of trying to have as many people as possible enjoy a event. (Summary: No event is perfect, and trying to appease everyone is impossible, trying to spice up a round should be praised, not condemned.)

Because Sec is the one we need to care for. Alright. The round consisted of mostly non-Sec personnel before it was announced that Garn was adding stuff, and then the flood of security came. Let's have some stuff for non-sec too?

Event sizes are subjective, ranging from spice, to small canon event, to massive announced event. Very well.

An official place to give feedback would allow both the current event creator and even creators in the future to get a rough idea of what not to do. PMs don't cut it for that purpose. Also, personal feedback can just be ignored by indifference, as showcased here. Staff Complaint was the best choice, as it stands right now.

Nice slippery slope. Give people a place to voice their concerns and allow future events to be tweaked a little for maximum enjoyment. What's bad about feedback?

There is a difference between condemnation and a suggestion for tweaking. The pylons made the round suck ass, in my own personal opinion. This was my first proper Wishgranter event and I thought it was a novel approach. The pylons just ruined it. My complaint is that pylons should be avoided, nerfed, or used sparingly in the future.

The issue is not with providing feedback. But with the fact that a staff complaint is used for it. Staff complaints are meant for actual errors or mistakes, and are usually treated as such by the attending staff. There's also nothing to be done with a staff complaint like this beyond going, "Okay," and moving on. Which is detrimental because:

  • the specific issue of event feedback will probably get ignored (because, again, from the perspective of a staff complaint, there isn't much to do with a complaint like this one);
  • the signal to noise ratio of complaints is increased, thus lowering their worth and severity.

If the staff member is looking for feedback, he will utilize a way of gathering it.

Regardless, complaint closed and now filed.
