Colfer Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 (edited) A wig selection for the loadout, wigs can use any hairstyle (Even xeno "hair"styles (except diona)) and can be put on any creature (Except diona and most IPC frames and maybe skrell). If somebody uses the hair pull attack, it will remove your wig and also damage you if applicable. Would be worn in either the ear or head slot. This means you could wear unathi horns as a human (kinda strange but its possible) and set them to not block hair (if its considered a hat by the loadout) so you could have spikes coming out of your hair or something. Or finally wear pretty tajaran hairs as a human, or have skrell headtails just for fun as an IPC and get found dead in an alley way 8 days later Basically just allowing more customization. It could be neat to give IPC shells the ability to take off their hair or give bald people new heads of hair, disguising your undercover greytide (EDIT) As an additional note, if you get a swirlie with a wig on, it should remove your wig and delete it from the game world Edited December 19, 2021 by Colfer
Mneme Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 +Support This would add some customization, and that's never a bad idea. It could also create some funny, yet humiliating situations. One example being, Dr. Fenah Veral Captain of the NSS Aurora having her wig yanked off and stolen in front of everyone because it's extremely expensive.
Flpfs Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Wigs are a cool addition, but please please do not let species wear wigs that aren't theirs. For me atleast, it feels very LRP for a human to wear unathi horns or cat ears and reminds me of the baystation boosters, which are extremely cringe. Wigs are nice but just make human hairstyle ones only
KingOfThePing Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 If I could vote for dismissal only once in my entire life, this would be my vote for dismissal

If this is the case then yeah no, tajaran hairstyles would probably have to be restricted for the purposes of wigs
wowzewow Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 Defeats the purpose of species-specific hairstyles. Also people will definitely be cringe with it. Hard pass.
Marlon P. Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 Are plain old hairstyles really worth segregating? out of billions of people no ones interested in hair that the tajara also like?

Youre worried about secondhand embarrassment seeing someone with a haircut usually popular with tajara? Sorry for the doublepost, hit enter too early. Edited December 20, 2021 by Marlon P.
Carver Posted December 20, 2021 Posted December 20, 2021 If they can be separated from the cat ears, more than a few of the Taj hairstyles would be sensible enough for humans. I'd support those in wig-form. Same with the various human hairs in wig form. But for lizard horns, fake headtails and the like - I don't like the thought (though the latter may be interesting in the context of a traitor disguise kit, but you can't exactly disguise not being a manlet).

I think barring horns and ears makes sense if for the in-universe reason that it's offensive.

I'm not sure every character would care about that. It's more that OOCly, it doesn't really look good when you slap those bits onto species they aren't designed for.
