BYOND key:

- Loorey

Discord Username:

- Reformed Cat#7805

Character names:

- Sophie (Artificial Intelligence)
A very personal, always polite and helpful Ship Intelligence, Entertaining people with Information and Fun facts while working on all tasks given in the Background.

- MIA (Borg, usually Medical, sometimes Engineering and Mining)
Overall a very cold, always verbose Shipbound striving for perfection and efficiency in tasks given while trying to somehow integrate with the Horizon's Crew.

 - Jennavia Levine (Bridge Crewman)
A very polite and energetic young woman that puts passion into her workplace, trying to improve operations, take weight off of the Command Crew by doing all kinds of work for them and being helpful to everyone all around, whether Horizon Crew or outsiders.

- Serenity Anderson (Engineer)
Laid back and casual, but usually pretty quiet Engineer employed by Hephaestus. Involved in a heavy workplace incident back at the Ship she was employed on previously which has caused her to become way more of an introverted personality, from a totally happy and healthy soul.

How long have you been playing on Aurora?

- A very long time, but on-and-off. I started initially playing back when I first started with Space Station 13 initially, back in 2018. I Had a pretty long period of inactivity between then and the present time but occasionally played to keep myself updated on things. So, more actively again, I have been playing since start of this year.

Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they?

- Received none.

Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each.

What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?

- In my eyes, a Head of Staff is a personality displaying leadership and emitting trust to their fellow players. A player that puts more effort into their roleplay and story building than the average standard. But also someone that displays great mechanical knowledge of their department, a great Teacher that should be able to bring over all related Knowledge about their department to anyone in need and optimally also someone that knows more than just the basics.

Head of Staff Positions should be taken by players that heavily prefer the roleplay aspect of Aurora over the mechanical aspect. A Chief Engineer should not be the first person to step into a Phoron Fire and be the Hero extinguishing it, but should rather coordinate their Departmental Team to deal with the issue at hand, assess damage, create a report for the other Heads of Staff and the rest of the Crew. The Head of Security shouldn't be the pointman in an assault in an attempt to display all of his strength, but should rather be the Brain of Operations in the backline, creating tactics for their Team, negotiating and trying to keep damage at a minimal. This goes for every department, and I think that Players need the right OOC mindset to play these roles first.

What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?

- As already pointed out above, you are a pillar of Leadership and Knowledge for your fellow Players and a point of Trust that they know they can approach if they have anything that bothers them.

You are not only a source of extensive Knowledge, maybe even more than the Wiki can provide after learning all of the tricks around your department, but also someone in a Position of Power, thus this means a lot of responsibilities lay on your shoulders as a Departmental Head and that your fellow players will expect more from you. By no means should a whitelisted player use this Power to solely let their power play over other people and show them "I am in Command, you are to obey everything I say". A Command Player should use their power wisely to engage their Department in Roleplay more and should always be open for feedback from their fellow players.

While within Command, you get the Power of controlling the flow of the round, what happens on the Horizon. You have the power to change the Round for all of it's players and even off-ship roles depending on your actions. Always keeping a cool head, making unbiased decisions and discussing these decisions with your Department and the fellow Heads of Staff are just some of the key qualities a Command Player should posess. As they are higher up in the Chain of Command they should act as a Role Model to all of their fellow Players, teach them about the game if they're new, expand their knowledge if they are old.

Since I personally do have quite the extensive mechanical and roleplay knowledge about Aurora, I would see myself fit into the roles I want to play, helping players out and making tactical decisions - I myself think that I am more than capable of filling in a Command Slot on the Roster and upholding high standards in terms of Roleplay.

Explain how the recent events in the Spur changed your character and how they came to be employed on the SCCV Horizon.

- Jennavia Anna-Maria Levine, Bridge Crewman aboard the SCCV Horizon, formerly employed within Human Resources for NanoTrasen:

Jennavia has always been passionate about the work she puts in, no matter where and for whom, always displaying who she represents in the best light. Being lucky and growing up in a wealthy family on Biesel, her father being a well-renowned Irdris Broker and her mother working within the lower ranks of Executive Management at NanoTrasen - she has been able to enjoy a highly prestigious Education gathering a Bachelor such as Master in the fields of Human Resources Management along the way. Starting with a Job as Junior Human Resources Assistant while finishing her Bachelor at an Idris branch office in Phoenixport on Biesel and rather quickly moving up to the position of a local Human Resources Manager for Idris in Phoenixport after getting her Master, she was rather quickly approached by NanoTrasen hiring agents with a job offer at the NanoTrasen Headquarters in Mendell City.

After getting the opportunity to work within as Executive Human Resources Assistant with NanoTrasen at such a prestigious place her employers quickly noticed the passion and overly positive work ethic of Jennavia, continuing to monitor her behaviour which has been more than positive they have offered here a transfer not many NanoTrasen employees witness, right to the NTCC Odin in the same position as before.

While working on the NTCC Odin, a management station in ownership of NanoTrasen, a major influential player within the SCC, she has come into more contact with the SCC's Projects, especially the Horizon in this case. Influenced by her father, working for Idris and travelling around the many sectors of space to uphold business relationships and the fact that she's been working aboard the Odin she has grown more and more interested in work aboard a Spaceship travelling the through far outer reaches, she has approached her employer, NanoTrasen, with the idea of Bridge Position aboard the Horizon. NanoTrasen being a major player in the SCC of course used their influence to make it possible after the managing executives withing Jennavia's department aboard the Odin agreed. Mutually agreeing that NanoTrasen will cover the costs for the extensive additional training required in Shuttle and Flagship Piloting and everything that comes with it, the SCC and NanoTrasen have, three years later, officially signed the transfer contracts for Jennavia to work aboard the Horizon.

Happily beginning her work as Bridge Crewman aboard the Horizon, she is now bringing all of her passion and past experiences to the Crew, showing support and assistance everywhere she can and trying to improve Operations where possible.

Caused all by her will to improvement, adventurism and curiosity, she is now happily under the flag of the Conglomerate serving aboard the Horizon.

What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted?

- I mainly look to be playing Executive Officer with my Bridge Crewman, Jennavia Levine. Besides that a Corporate Liaison representing NanoTrasen's interests. I'm going into a little more depth on who these characters are in the section below the next one.

Have you familiarized yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles?

- I have familiarized myself with the Command Roles and all of their responsibilities, even those I do not plan on playing yet. In particular I've familiarized myself with all of the mechanical and roleplay aspects of the Executive Officer and Corporate Liaison roles, which I mainly plan on playing. And related aspects such as the Horizon's Chain of Command, Regulations and aspects of the current Lore that influence the Horizon. Additionally I would say I am overall very familiar with all of the in-game mechanics through playing the AI and Cyborg roles, diving my head into code when I wondered how something worked and also messing with all kinds of things on a local server.

Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking:

- Jennavia Levine as Executive Officer
With a long and pristine History in Human Resources and Financial Operations with the Idris Corporation and NanoTrasen she has the skills required to enter the Position, always striving for self-improvement.

- Jayce Auckmann as NanoTrasen Corporate Executive
A rather grim looking, middle-aged man loyal to NanoTrasen and representing their interests throughout the many sectors of space, recently transferred to the Horizon to advise the Command Crew of the Horizon and the Conglomerate on Executive matters.

Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action?

- Of course.

Have you linked your BYOND account to the Forums?

- Yes.

Extra notes:

- Thanks to everyone reading the Application, actually. Getting Feedback, whether that is positive or telling me how I may improve with my OOC Attitude, the IC Playstyle of my Characters or the Application and how I may change it is very important to me. Thanks, a lot!

has been a joy the times I've seen them as a bridgie. knowledgeable, team player, and fun to play with. I think they'd do well in a leadership role and gets a definite +1 from me

+1 from me
I've played a good few rounds as bridge crew with them, and think they would be a really good fit for command. they are always very polite, helpful to new players, and take their job seriously.

Having played with them on my Warden, I believe that Loorey deserves a shot at a Command trial. Their character is enjoyable to interact with, and they are capable of performing duties expected of Command. They were very communicative during the round I'm mentioning, and kept the security department involved and engaged with both the rescue operation and following attempt at finding out what caused the incident to transpire.

I've played some bridge crew rounds with Jennavia. They're knowledgeable about the position, and always professional and helpful. I think I've seen them go up to an interim Command position before and perform pretty well, but that was a fairly chaotic round so I didn't get a great measure for things. Either way, I'd like to see them in a more permanent Command role. I think they'd do great based on what I've seen.

In my time playing with this character they have always been very RP heavy, knowledgeable in the lore, and exceptionally professional. Would love to see them succeed in a better position!

Done a few Captain rounds with them as Bridgie Interimmed them when finding out about the WL app. Seems to have their head on straight +1.

On trial until 26/05/2023.

As a note, the process is supposed to be fun. Don't stress too much about getting crazy playtime in, just do your best to get some feedback over the week. Message me on discord if there are any issues.

I played a round with my captain, Rose Hortensia, with Loorey as my Executive Officer.

They were a very nice, helpful and good executive officer. Involving themselves with both command and the crew and being communicative and able to assist with multiple things throughout the round. I was very pleasantly surprised having not played with the character before and I certainly feel that they make for a great executive officer.

I was in engineering and XO Levine called me up after reading my records to promote me to interim. It felt very natural and exactly what an XO should be doing.

Just played with them for the First time.

I assumed they were a Veteran.

never noticed they were new to the role and they handled the role very competently.

Always a presence in command channel and willing to engage both antag gimmicks and to engage player gimmicks

I originally wasn't going to comment because I had no idea this was a new command player. Levine fits naturally into the command team in a way that had me convinced that she was a new character of a long-time command player, and has been wielding the power of Executive Officer very well in my experience - between promoting officers, suspensions, and even having some presence for security when there's nobody else to. I've enjoyed it a lot.

I've had a couple of shifts with Jennavia now, and I have to say I quite enjoy the RP I have with them. From what I see they do a rather good job of XO. At the very least I haven't had any complaints.

+1 from me
