jackfractal
There are times, lots of times, where I am on station and I am doing my thing, and I can tell that something cool is happening just around the corner. But I miss it. I'm busy, or I'm doing something else, or it zooms by too fast in the radio chatter, and all I'm left with is this fleeting impression that something interesting flickered past me in the dark. So this thread is to ask people about those things that you missed. This isn't a place for acrimony or argument. This isn't a place to ask 'Why did you do this?' or 'Why didn't you do that! Argh!' That's what the complaint boards are for. This is a place to ask people, "Hey! I thought this thing you were doing was really cool. Can you tell me more about that?" I'll go first. To Whomever Played Centurion in the MALF round on May 28th, 2015, the one where the Red Queen tried to hijack the ERT's shuttle, I thought your characters search for 579233 was really cool, and I really wanted to ask about it, but I was run right off my feet the entire round and I never got the chance. What was all that about? I want to know more. - Jack Quote Link to comment
Baka
I miss Mason's difficult to understand impediment. Because. I AM THE WAW. (She still says Foiyah and Moidah though.) Quote Link to comment
Frances
Nightmare Tuiee Covert Chris Leore Halo Casper Sam IJ SKOP Chaz Viking Farcry Less Nebula For our old forums, where I was a tertiary admin and everything was simpler. These people were cool. Some of them still play sometimes, some don't. But I believe anyone who can recognize any of their names is fortunate in some way to have known them. Quote Link to comment
Guest
I miss when we used to play extended extremely frequently. I miss when I used to enjoy science. And when Skull would used to laugh at us for failing miserably at science whenever we entered deadchat together. I miss when Duck was around extremely frequently and we would go around doing hilariously powergamey science things such as making microwaves, supercooking the asteroid, hooking each other up to electric chairs, making max yield bombs and then strip mining the entire asteroid... I also miss the LOOC discussions with Duck of wanting to form the Science Power Rangers, in which everybody would have color coded jumpsuits and like callsigns or something. Did I say I really missed extended? Because we would never get to do any of the above on a standard secret round because everyone is always so fucking paranoid and anal about paperwork for science testing fun that it becomes an absolute turn-off for anyone involved. Did I also say I missed Duck? Quote Link to comment
Frances
Duck will be back. She tends to come back. I also remember how Skull would send CC reports evaluating bomb tests and they were always hilarious. Oh, I miss events. I've only seen one event since... February? Since whenever I came back. Quote Link to comment
jackfractal
Hmm. Well this went in a direction I didn't anticipate. I suppose I should have been more careful with the title. I guess this can be a general 'stuff I miss' thread, but I was really talking about "This was a cool thing that happened recently, but I didn't get the whole story and would like to know more." A place for fruitful questions and multiple perspectives, not really for laments. Ah well. Quote Link to comment

I saw her post and was halfway through writing mine when I realized, and went "fuck it". I'm actually terrible and I'm sorry. Quote Link to comment

Guest
Viking is around more during the slumpiest slump of dead hour. About 6-7AM in the morning EST for however long. Quote Link to comment

Frances
Livehour, every day. Mainly because personal accounts and observations are always more reliable than secondhand accounts and even logs. Deadhour tends to be better than livehour for general shenanigans anyway, in my experience. Sure, there's more going on during livehour, but through all of the chaos, you sorta... get isolated to your own little world of trouble and miss out on a lot of it? Like there's too much going on to keep track of everything. Whereas during deadhour it's easier to get a general sense of the flow of the round, and if anything funny, spectacular, or horrifying happens, you have a much better guarantee the whole station will be informed of it. Jamini
I miss deadhour. It's nice to have rounds where things aren't always exploding in every direction all the time. Alas, my work schedule prohibits. Blasted work. Quote Link to comment

witchbells
I miss breaking Phoebe. I miss the "security, phoebe is being weird again" that always follows. Quote Link to comment
