Guest
As many of you may remember, Cratey was a killer simple mob crate 'accidentally' mapped into the most recent security map revision, instead of the standard crate containing shooting targets. For several rounds, Cratey proved themselves capable enough to test the robustness of many a security officer that would dare challenge it in its home, the security firing range. When provoked, it would growl and then charge with contained zeal at its indicated foe. Until Cratey was mapped out again due to the high casualty count mostly consisting of a certain catbeast security officer dying over. And over. And over. And over again. Thanks, Meow. Since it was already a pain for Chauncey to be coded in as a corgi ripoff, and SoundScopes hates having to have more pets, we can take the easy way out and just have a mapper sneak Cratey into a patch. Not so much 'sneak' if we all want to be murdered by a killer crate again, if that's our perogative. It would be a welcome challenge for any aspiring security player. Or, alternatively, we can dupe Spot over to the standard armory and have him kept in a pen guarded by blast doors. If someone tries to sneak in, the Warden can simply hit the button for Cratey's 'cage' so that Cratey can maul and annihilate the would-be arms thief. I am 100% serious about this and I think it would make rounds somewhat more entertaining with people screaming about the killer crate mauling their face. Please bring back Cratey. Link to comment
Guest Menown
I want Cratey back. Please. Link to comment
Tablespoon
I'm honestly not opposed to this. Link to comment
LordFowl
In what world is a killer crate a scientifically reasonable - scratch that - REASONABLE at ALL? It makes absolutely no sense, and even if it did why would NanoTrasen put an 'animal' that specifically hungers solely for death and destruction? Do you know how many suits that would bring? This idea is absolutely retarded. It has my full support. Bring back Cratey. Link to comment
Tainavaa
I still think it should just be in the admin armory as a dear memory. Spot was a mistake. Link to comment

Killerhurtz
For reference - if Sybil COULD create killer crate bots, she would. Bring Back Cratey. Link to comment
Garnascus
holy FUCK yes. can we PLEASE? I still catch myself coming to tears in laughter from playing HoS and tell cadets to "bring me that crate". BRING BACK CRATEY!! Link to comment

Lady_of_Ravens
So, basically the luggage from discworld? Sick. I'm not sure about how I actually feel about this, though. On one hand, it's pretty awesome/hilarious. On the other hand,it's kinda hard to make sense of ICly. I've never actually seen it, but I'm going to assume that it looks like a normal crate, meaning that it could be taken as anything from a bot to a possessed object to, like, some kind of sophisticated holographic disguise. Perhaps it's a very small, very angry TARDIS with a broken chameleon circuit. Everyone is going to have a different opinion on what it is. Link to comment
jackfractal
Lady is right, this is a level of ridiculous a little past what we usually do. Hmm... what if we made Cratey spawn one round in ten? Just to keep that extra surprise factor? Link to comment
Killerhurtz
guys guys listen guys it might be hard to do but what if Cratey had a % chance of spawning every round and when it's spawning it would be as a random crate on the station instead of security (maybe only during antag rounds) to add some spice to the station? You'd never know when Cratey could strike one round BAM a miner is missing a leg another BAM a scientist is missing an arm another BAM three dead cargo workers in the storage room another Beepsky mysteriously disappears in maintentance (does beepsky even do maintenance) and then the worst happens cratey AND radstorm suddenly there's six people being violently mauled to death by a chest because they didn't want to die of rad poisoning or guys make it an event like ion except that one crate aboard the station randomly becomes Cratey, or Cratey randomly spawns somewhere (like the spider event) cratey the terror of Aurora Link to comment

Skull132
...I have an idea. What if we made cratey into a borg? Like, instead of a magical mimic crate, what if we gave it robotic legs, and a friendly AI? And then just branded it as some sort of luggage tranaporting robot, or something. It might be less ridiculous, that way? Link to comment

Skull132
Well, don't make it homicidal. I was thinking it'd be friendly at that point. Link to comment

hivefleetchicken
I say have cratey should have a random chance of spawning, in God mode, on the asteroid, during wizard rounds. A homocidal clown that was hit with a staff of change, now just a loose end, that drifted through space after the last wizard federation attack and landed near the NSS Aurora. Possibly even a reason the wizard is there; to remove the witnesses. Link to comment
