Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Not'zar Izweski Arrives At New Skalamar As City Comes Under Siege: "My Fate Is The Fate of New Skalamar" Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist. In a shocking move Not'zar Izweski has revealed that he has arrived at the New Skalamar Shuttleport just as the city has come under siege by the rebel army. The Lord-Regent has arrived with only four of his Guwan Guards and a handful of retainers. The Lord-Regent's arrival comes after Overlord Yiztek expressed frustration with the handling of the crisis, at one point exclaiming that it was easy for Not'zar to give orders far away from the front lines. After these reports reached Moghes, Not'zar Izweski is said to have immediately left his Citadel for a shuttle to Ouerea. Overlord Yiztek was apparently given little warning beforehand, and the Overlord looked surprised to see the Lord-Regent. Not'zar is now stuck in New Skalamar, which has now been surrounded by the rebel army. Not'zar Izweski assembled a hasty press conference as the gates leading into the city were sealed ahead of the arrival of the rebel army. "Some sought to disparage me by claiming that I would not take the same risks that others take. I hope that my presence here dispels this criticism. I am here in this city as it is surrounded and sealed. My fate will be the same as the inhabitants of New Skalamar. While there are hundreds of people choosing to evacuate the city from shuttles, I am opting out. I continue to believe that this crisis may be resolved through dialogue. The divides between the Sinta of Ouerea and Moghes is more than the walls of New Skalamar. Violence may see the physical walls torn down, but it would expand the cultural divide between us into a bottomless chasm." After the conference, Not'zar Izweski was seen traveling by car to the main gate of the city where he began delegating the activities of the city guard. Commanded by General Zik'San, the rebel army of 12,000 appears to be predominately infantrymen. The majority of the rebel army is equipped with weapons looted from the armories of other cities. The army is already assembling siege camps and is setting up road blocks to block entry to the city. They have also begun constructing wooden siege weapons, but it's unclear if this will serve any purpose since the walls of New Skalamar are made of reinforced concrete and are able to resist catapulted stones. "Thousands of years of siege warfare creates habits that we like to call 'doctrine'." A New Skalamar watchman said. Shuttle service is continuing to and from the city uninterrupted, but air travel to New Skalamar has understandably plummeted.
Bygonehero Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'unathi linguist. Klaxans to Open Nine Gene Clinics Ground broke upon several public work projects across Moghesan cities last week. In a statement today from Overlord Ta'Akaix'Zkaii'xay'yil K'lax, they go onto explain that the new sites would offer free genetic services to all those who suffer birth defects or abnormalities brought upon them by the Moghesan radioactive wastes. When reached for comment, nine different lords mentioned that they have reached a deal for use of the land with the Overlord of Tret, but would not offer specifics upon exactly what- or how much they were offered with one exception. Lord S'tkuth had this to say regarding the deal, "Yes, the Tretian Medical Guild has purchased land outside of the city. From what was shown to me, these projects are as much a boon to the planet and its people as any terraforming project. After weighing the benefits such an undertaking would impose, it was agreed that this land could be purchased for their use. These clinics will provide a boon to local economies in the smaller cities of Moghes, as most workers I am told to be employed will be Unathi themselves. These continued Overtures from the Overlord of Tret are welcome indeed. In working with custom, however, all sites will also employ Sinta Shamans, to ensure only true Sinta may receive these treatments. I am sure guildmaster Wanski's ventures will be fruitful." Upon further investigation, the Tretian Medical Guild was formed only after negotiations with several lords concluded. When queried directly, Lord S'tkuth mentioned that they insisted on a formation of the guild to facilitate the purchase of the land. They went on further to explain that, as under Sinta law, only unathi can hold the title of guildmaster. This delayed negotiations for several weeks one source mentioned, but the K'lax was eventually able to facilitate the appointment of Guildmaster Wanski, who notarized the final bills of sale prior to the beginning of construction. When speaking with several construction workers of the sites, unathi workers mentioned that great chunks of pre-fabricated machines and parts would arrive in shuttles driven by Vaurca. As for Klax themselves, we spoke to pit boss Ka'Akaix' Wekit'K'lax about the construction and the project itself. "These structures will correct genetic deformations within the general population. Radiation has induced latent genetic damage in a sizable amount of the population, creating the need. It is the will of the Mother of Longing that this is so. Unathi will be trained on how to use the machines, but Klax will always be present at the facilities to ensure they are within operational parameters. There is nothing more to say. At the end of this, another shuttle had arrived, carrying a massive cube-shaped device and lowering it into the sizable 10000 square foot facility. Workers rush to guide the winch lowered device, situating it inside. Appeals for assistance have already reached the facility too, as we spoke to clan mother Tin'uzo about the sizable albino problem with her local area. "More unathi are being born wrong, a punishment for certain from our past mistakes under the eyes of the burning mother. But the hatchlings are blameless in this. They are born carrying the sins of those stained honors before. Many wish to achieve renown and glory in their own right, but will never get that chance, not so long as they are disfigured as they are. Unathi born with stunted tails are on the rise if stories from smaller villages are to be believed. These aliens that have been blessed by unathi hospitality know that they owe our proud species, honor demands recompense, and I can think of no greater honor than to ensure the success of Sinta yet to be born." Clan mother Tin'uzo motioned to several albino unathi children, and bid one over. "I want to be an honorable warrior!" the child replied when questioned what they wished to become once grown.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Not’zar Shocks All: Leaves City And Walks To Rebel Siege Camp For Surprise Parley Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist. The rebel Investment around New Skalamar has been going on since the 2nd (GST). There has been little violence so far; the constructed trebuchets have not yet thrown rocks at the walls or interior of the city. Both sides have simply held position, waiting for the cities’ supplies to run out of the defenders to sally forth and force a fight. But neither of these expected outcomes have come true, as Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski surprised all present by marching out of the city and walking all the way to the rebel lines. Not’zar Izweski was last seen in the city by the walls directing reinforcement of the western gate and discussing how to best distribute food supplies being shuttled in from orbit to residents of the city. As the Watchmen were explaining in-depth the specifics of countering an investment, Not’zar Izweski suddenly signalled his Guwan Guards and informed the assembled defenders that he would be ‘seeking a better alternative’. He began walking to the western gate of New Skalamar, declaring his intention to speak to the rebel General Zik’san. He was followed by the entourage of defenders who pleaded with him to remain within the city. Not’zar Izweski had the Western gate opened and he walked out into the field. The rebels behind their constructed palisades watched the young Lord-Regent approach them. One of Not’zar Izweski’s two accompanying Guwan Guards waved a green cloth at the rebels; the universal sign of parley. One of our journalists at the western investment line was present when the two leaders met, and managed to capture the above photo and was present for the duration of their meeting. Not’zar Izweski began by asking Zik’san his terms for a peaceful end of the conflict. General Zik’san reiterated the terms sent to Overlord Yiztek: The Confederation has demanded the expulsion of all Maraziites from Ouerea and a ban on their ever returning, the abolishment of 'payment in kind' taxation, the abolishment of feudal levy requirements, the return of democratic government, and the creation of a standing Ouerean army under command of the Confederation. Not’zar Izweski began negotiating these terms when he was interrupted by General Zik’san. “You are a known breaker of promises and obligations; we have no intention of making pact with you unless you can prove you will keep your word. We will not suffer the tragedy of the Akhandi.” Not’zar Izweski paused for a moment then signalled to his Guwan to bring him his radio. Not’zar Izweski used the radio to speak to Overlord Yiztek, and before General Zik’san issued a decree to expel all present Maraziites from the city of New Skalamar. What followed was fifteen minutes of silence as all present waited for a response. At the end of this time the voice of Overlord Yiztek could be heard. “You are clearly being held under duress and I can’t follow this decree.” Overlord Yiztek responded through the radio. Looking upset, Not’zar Izweski told General Zik’san to “excuse him” and began to walk back to the Western gate. The Lord-Regent, visibly struggling to walk the long distance due to his incredible physical handicaps, returned into the city and repeated the decree of expulsion in person before the gate, where Overlord Yiztek was present. Not’zar Izweski then struggled to walk back to General Zik’san. Visibly impressed, the General then began more extensive negotiations. During this, the Maraziite Order was issued the order to abandon the city by the seemingly reluctant Yiztek. Within hours, the defenders of the city began rounding up Iron Masks and escorting them to the shuttleport where transports are being prepared to send them to Moghes. The responses from the Sk’akh Church were swift and harsh. High Priest Unzi of the Sk’akh Church made a public condemnation. Sounding incredibly incensed, Unzi blasted the Lord-Regent for allowing politics to become more important than defending against cultist infiltration. An extremely upset Unzi then declared that he would be seeking ‘retaliation’ for the action by Not’zar Izweski, and called on the Clans of Moghes to unite their voices in condemnation of the Lord-Regent. "We take Sk'akh and all the ancestors to witness this day. We name all Sinta and all souls that in the name of Sk'akh, we will not bear this surrender to heresy by the boy ruler. Our presence as defenders of the spirit of Ouerea will not be trampled on with impunity by Sinta, no matter their rank or titles. Any Sinta that seeks to expel our Order from ouerea, does it at the expense of their very lives. That any mob comes to disturb us will be forced to spill every drop of blood from our bodies; in at least in this final act we might purify the soil with the blood of the pure and righteous! We will continue to remain on Ouerea and fight the cult menace until either we or they are utterly decimated! But the response has been mixed. Many Lords across Moghes initially told our reporters that they have grown uncomfortable with the actions of High Priest Unzi. but were unwilling to make a public statement. Many Maraziites refused to willingly be expelled and there are still many incidents of Iron Masks attacking Watchmen with their staffs before being overpowered, and Unzi is not known to have followed through his threat to order Ouerea’s Chapter Masters to offer serious resistance to their expulsion. A few hours after the announcement by Unzi, Lord Mizaruz Gri'zan of Baandr gave the first public response. “I am deeply concerned that Unzi has begun to forsake the honor of the Church in favor of ruthlessness. The campaign of extermination conducted by Unzi against the Akhandi has created wounds on the soul of our people that are still fresh. It is known that Ouerea has long been a Th’akh planet. We have already burned down sacred temples and extinguished untold amounts of ancient knowledge. It is possible that Unzi has gone too far.” After this public announcement, other Lords across Moghes began openly speaking out against the Maraziite Order. For now this has allowed the expulsion to take place without any significant political repercussions; a major blow to the Maraziite Order. On Ouerea itself, Not’zar Izweski is continuing to speak terms with General Zik’san, and it is unclear what other, if any, major agreements will be reached.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Overlord Yizra Locks The Gates On Not’zar: Lord-Regent Forced To Ask Rebels For Safe Transit Back Into City Over Walls Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist. Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski has returned safely behind the walls of New Skalamar after being refused entry by the levy of Overlord Yizra at the western gate. The incident has left Overlord Yizra embarrassed, and an annoyed Not’zar Izweski arranging for an Ouerean representative to instead enter into the city for negotiations within the walls. The Lord-Regent had excused himself from the negotiations with the Ouerean rebel General Zik’san for the day. The two men have been in intense conversation about a potential resolution to the continuing crisis on the planet. Flanked by his Guwan Guards, Not’zar Izweski walked back to the western entrance to the city and called on the defending Levymen to open the gates to allow him entry. The Levymen challenged Not’zar’s entry, asking for him to confirm his identity. Not’zar Izweski, taken aback, pointed at one of the hanging Izweski banners hanging from the top of the portcullis and declared himself of Clan Izweski “you blind fools”. The Levymen refused again to open the gate, claiming Overlord Yiztek had ordered it remained sealed. Not’zar Izweski responded by demanding “in the name of the Hegemon” that the gate be opened and he be allowed entry into the city. The Levymen refused again, citing a fear that the rebels were preparing to assault the gate and they were worried that they could “not close it in time.” After several more minutes of arguing, Not’zar Izweski returned to the main camp of the rebel investment. There he explained that he was unable to return to the city by foot and requested that Zik’san allow his personal shuttle to land within the camp and take him back into the city. Despite parley having ended, Zik’san was heard assuring the Lord-Regent that he would not be hindered from returning to the city. “You came to us, at great personal risk, in good faith. Honor compels us to see you returned safely.” Zik’san then had his army allow an Izweski transport shuttle to fly into the middle of their camp, where it was not challenged. Not’zar Izweski boarded the shuttle with his Guwan Guards and after thanking Zik’san, was transported over the walls and landed at the shuttleport. The Lord-Regent had a car drive him to Yiztek’s castle immediately upon landing, and the two nobles were not seen for several hours. After this time had elapsed, Yiztek emerged and gave a public statement apologizing for the ‘oversight’. Any future negotiations are being done within the city itself, with a dignitary from the so-called Ouerean Confederation meeting with the Lord-Regent and Overlord Yiztek within the city’s castle.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Overlord Yizra Executes Oueran Negotiators For Espionage: Zik'San Gives Residents 72 Hours To Evacuate Before Attacking City Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist. Rebel Negotiators were allowed into the city earlier this week as a team of four dignitaries representing the 'Ouerean Confederation'. The negotiators were kept in seperate quarters in New Skalamar's castle when meetings were not being held. They were kept under watch throughout the term of their stay, only being allowed out of their rooms during meetings with Overlord Yiztek and Lord Regent Izweksi. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse when one of the dignitaries were found outside their room during curfew. At 1:05am one of the negotiators, Niua Ou'tugi, was found in the hallway outside of his room and was immediately apprehended by Yiztek's guards and brought before the Overlord to explain himself. Whatever the explanation, it was apparently insufficient. Overlord Yiztek had all the dignitaries executed in the middle of the night, at 1:30am. Armed guards stormed each room and they slew three of the diplomats in their sleep, with the fourth having been beheaded. Overlord Yiztek is defending his action by claiming that they were spies attempting to get information, when he gave his announcement of the action at 6am. Lord-Regent Izweski was at the walls giving a speech to assembled Sinta levymen. When informed of the announcement by Yiztek, Not’zar released a string of curses and immediately left the area, refusing to speak to anyone else. Outside the gates, the rebel army heard word of the deaths of their dignitaries. Rebel General Zik'san gave a concrete, aggressive response of his own to assembled reporters. "When the young prince came to our army we gave him fair shelter, though we would have much to gain from having killed him where he stood. We gave parley in good faith, and expected the same in return. Who is Yiztek, to murder four unarmed, helpless speakers of peace? Who is he to dare to do this? Honor demands vengeance. We remained restrained to avoid damaging the city filled with so many of our people that we wish to bring freedom, but I have no other choice. We will give this city three days. If you are within New Skalamar and value your life: be somewhere else.” The move has shocked Ouerea, and many are now taking Zik'san's advice and evacuating the city. Shuttleports are being filled to capacity with Unathi fleeing to other parts of Ouerea or even seeking refuge in the human system of Tau Ceti. Hundreds of Ouereans have already fled to Tau Ceti, and the turmoil engulfing Ouerea may lead to even more. The rebel army is currently being seen preparing battle formations, and it is unclear if conflict will break out before the official deadline.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 Battle of Yiztek Castle: Guwans Seize Yiztek As Deadline Nears Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist. “Yiztek took in men of peace, promising them safety and residence. He then brutally murdered them under his own roof, as his own wife and hatchlings slept only a single floor above. The blood he spilled on the floors of the castle have proven that the pits of his dishonor are unfathomable in their depths. There is much turmoil on Ouerea these past months, and what Yiztek has done has given just cause to all that took up banners against him. For what he has done, there will be justice.” So began Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski, who gave a speech in the center of New Skalamar’s plaza. The speech came only an hour after bystanders noticed violence spilling out through the castle where Overlord Yiztek resided. It appears that Not’zar Izweski ordered his Guwan Guard to take up arms within the castle and arrest Overlord Yiztek. The castle garrison was taken by suprise and quickly overwhelmed, with several Izweski loyalists joining the fray after a Guwan Guard opened the castle gates. One Guard was overpowered and slain, while three of the castle guard remain critically wounded. Now several dozen of Yiztek’s Clan and followers have been arrested. Not’zar Izweski announced in his speech that he plans to take the astonishing step of branding the Overlord as a Guwan. “Yiztek has refused to take up the title of Guwandi to redeem himself before Sk’akh and his ancestors. It is with deep regret that I am considering a decree to bestow on Yiztek the title of Guwan, so that his status in life may reflect upon the irredeemable status of his immortal soul. This decision is still one I have not decided upon yet. I will continue to reflect upon what sort of punishment is fitting for Yiztek.” Immediately after discussing the possible, unprecedented step of making an Overlord a Guwan, Not’zar Izweski began directly appealing to the Ouerean General Zik’San to re-enter negotiations. “The actions taken by a feudal vassal do not always reflect upon the Lord above them,” Not’zar Izweski said, “I am not ever as low as a man as Yiztek. All have seen my commitment to honorable conduct. I know that if Zik’san were to consider the merits of my conduct, he will find a reasonable method of justifying a peaceful resolution to this crisis.” The Ouerean rebel general Zik’san has not yet responded to these developments. It is believed he is currently using a Personal Data Assistant to communicate with the Confederations’ ‘Grand Council’ of elders and Clan-Mothers. The Yiztek Clan themselves have responded with incredible restlessness. On Moghes, Clan-Leader Zara’izi Yiztek, the eldest male of the Clan, demanded the immediate release and reinstatement of his kinsman. However, even the Clan’s closest allies have shied away from publicly coming out in support of Yiztek. The Overlord’s murder of three unarmed envoys under his protection has spooked nearly all of the Moghean nobility, on top of causing incredible outrage on Ouerea. It’s not clear what allies of the Yiztek clan remain.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Overlord Yiztek Branded Guwan and Becomes Guwandi- Ouerean Rebels To Accept Peace Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist. The first Overlord in Sinta’Unathi history has become the first Overlord to be branded a Guwan. then-Tarkart Yiztek was brought before Not’zar Izweski in the Ouerean capital of New Skalamar, within Tarkart’s own former castle. There before an assembly of cameras and a delegation from the Ouerean rebels, Not’zar Izweski heard the former Overlord’s arguments. Tarkart continued his insistence that the Ouerean diplomats he had murdered in their sleep were spies intening on sabotaging the defenses of the city. “Are you so willing to behave in brazen dishonor and murder house guests?” Not’zar Izweski asked him at one point. “They abandoned the honor they claimed when they spied on my city.” then-Yiztek declared. Not’zar Izweski found this and further arguments insufficient. Then-Yiztek was decreed a Guwan by the Lord-Regent at the conclusion of the trial after several days of deliberation. “Tarkart Guwan has sullied the most vital foundation of our civilization. His conduct is that of the mud beneath the feet of the common beast. He has no place in civilization. He is a Guwan.” Tarkart Guwan took the news poorly, as the assembly in the room gasped and whispered between themselves. The Guwan then spoke up and declared that he was taking on the title of Guwandi. “There can be no redemption in the material for a man of my station to fall so far, and so I will seek apology through an honorable death.” Not’zar Izweski paused at this, and accepted the Guwan’s appeal. “Then you will be exiled, but you will be brought back to Moghes and released into the Wasteland. May you succeed in your quest of redemption for your crimes.” At the conclusion of the Trial the Guwan was escorted out of the castle and brought to a shuttle to be brought back to Moghes. The Yiztek Clan itself has responded with despair, and leading clan members have been reported framing this as a violation of feudal obligations owed to them. Ouerea has taken it in a different light. Relocating his army away from the city, General Zik’san has declared a bilateral ceasefire. With the ceasefire underway, the Ourean Confederation faction may soon reach their goals of autonomy as official talks resume. New Skalamar remains the only city on the planet directly held by Hegemony authority. All the other territory on Ouerea has fallen to the rebels that style themselves the Ourean Confederation. They rose up in response to the failing Overlordship of the Yiztek that saw systemic failures at every level of the planet’s administration with economic stagnation, growing slums, and social unrest. Ouerean Sinta have long demanded greater autonomy and equal standing with their Moghean counterparts. However, despite the growing rumors spreading amongst xeno news outlets, very few of the Ouerean rebels have demanded outright independence. Rebel leaders have denied this categorically, saying they want greater privileges within the context of the Hegemony. With this ceasefire underway, there is hope that they will reach their goals.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 Not’zar Izweski Returns to Ouerea For Clan-Mother Festival Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist. Not’zar Izweski has left Moghes to attend the Trav’aas Festival, a holiday that atkes place every Trav’akh which celebrates past and present clan-mothers and the contributions of the ancestors. Not’zar is coming with several of the Izweski’s direct family, including the Izweski Clan-mother Rak’ta Izweski, and Not’zar’s younger brother Z’krazki Izweski. Rak’ta is leaving directly from the Izweski Citadel’s shuttleport rather than taking the city’s main shuttleport due to her still being technically wanted by the Maraziite Order. The festival across Ouerea will culminate over the next few days with processions of honored Clan-Mothers wearing traditional face paint designs and eloquent dress and costumes. They will parade down the main avenue of New Skalamar to the city’s castle where they will be given food and festivity by the hosts. The the city’s ruling Council and Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski will be greeting these guests. The city has been returned to the rule of a local assembly of 10 leading city Clansmen after Overlord Yiztek was deposed and made Guwandi for his dishonorable conduct. The castle is getting ready to host hundreds of Clan-Mothers. Local shops and restaurants are preparing a cornucopia of food to donate to the festivities. There will be several aristocrats rubbing shoulders at the event. General Zik’san, who only months ago held the city under siege, is on the guest list. His invitation may be a way for Not’zar Izweski to express a conciliatory gesture to the former rebel leader. The Razi Clan is also sending a representative of the Razi Guild. Hizoni Razi is the third daughter of Clan-Lord Razi and this is her debutante into court life. An azure is a very exotic sight at public gatherings and gossip has already begun to spread about which male will be interested in such a prestigious treasure to possess. These events often lead to political marriages, so Razi will no doubt be a tool in expanding the Razi name into the realm of the nobility. Lord-Admiral Yizarus is also leaving the 1st Fleet in command of a subordinate to attend the celebration. He has been assisting Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski in the planning and execution of the festival and has rarely been seen away from Not’zar’s side. The Lord-Admiral has become a close advisor to the Lord-Regent ever since his instrumental hand in keeping the Izweski dynasty’s rightful place in power in the Hegemony. Even the Yiztek Clan is on the guest list despite the deep insult they faced when Overlord Yiztek was deposed and exiled into the Wasteland. The attendance of Yiztek Clan-mother O'loi and two of Yiztek's sons is expected to be awkward for the party as a whole, but the Yiztek have been quiet since the incident and few believe there will be a faux pas on their part. Tourists and residents continue to pour into the city to prepare for the parade and festival. Lesser parades and celebrations are taking place across Ouerea and the Untouched Lands on Moghes, as the entire Hegemony slows down during the arrival of the cold season.
SleepyWolf Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 Assassination Attempt on Not’zar Izweski! Exotic Azure Slays Two Assassins and ENTIRE Clan Made Guwans Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist. Drama erupts from the castle of New Skalamar today. Not’zar Izweski was in the middle of attentively listening to four old Clan-mothers talk about their grandkids when two of the Yiztek that had been mingling in the crowd suddenly drew weapons. The first, a son of the Yiztek clan, pulled out a dagger and lunged over the table at the Lord-Regent. In a whirlwind of movement the azure Hizoni Razi jumped in front of the assassin and with her own knife disarmed and struck down the assailant. Clan Mother O’loi Yiztek who was standing nearby drew a laser pistol, where she was intent on gunning down the Lord-Regent who was still seated. Hizoni Razi threw her dagger at the Clan Mother, hitting her in the shoulder. The elderly O'loi Yiztek then fired off a stray shot into a grandmother seated next to Not'zar before she was then restrained by the guards. The second son of the Yiztek lost heart and attempted to flee, but was tackled by Lord-Admiral Yizarus and incapacitated with a strike. The festival was thrown into chaos as the castle went into lockdown and the elderly clan-mothers were escorted out and given treatment. After extensive questioning in the castle’s dungeon the captured Yiztek clan members revealed that they had personally wanted to get revenge for the now Guwandi previous Overlord, and that there were hidden weapons in the New Skalamar citadel from when the previous Overlord had control of the city. Immediately following all this, Not’zar Izweski gave a speech on system-wide television and radio which branded the entire Clan as Guwan in a direct decree, where the whole of the Yiztek will be forced to fend for themselves in the Wasteland. This would displace 100 members of the clan into the sands. This is the first time a clan-wide Guwan decree has occured under the governance of Lord Regent Not’zar and the first of such decree in over a hundred years. The Yiztek Clan-Leader is believed to still be at his estate in the Untouched Lands on Moghes, and it was last heard that the nearby Lord Reiv’a Xu’ha had raised his clan levy to besiege the Yiztek castle in the name of the Izweski. Not’zar Izweski has been seen often, surrounded by his Guwan guard while speaking to Lady Hizoni Razi. She is said to have learned how to wield the knives from a common female pasttime, Bladedancing, where women pirouette intricately with flaming weapons, which is much too dainty and womanly to actually hurt anyone. Most noblemen find this laughable that bladedancing would give enough training to fight, and are simply saying she should could not have used dancing blades to hurt anyone, and even if she did have regular knives could not have had the strength to cut someone. Not’zar has sliced into the debate, giving praise and saying “Anyone who defends their Hegemon in any way is deserving of great praise and prizes, Hizoni has done what all Sinta should have done, and very well.” Since Not’zar Izweski used Lady Razi’s first name, does that show his intentions already, with a possible relationship on the horizon?
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted November 16, 2018 Posted November 16, 2018 K'lax From Tret Receives Rank of Admiral Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist. In an elaborate ceremony in Skalamar, Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski has appointed Za'Akaix'Xitac Klax as the Admiral of the 3rd Fleet. His appointment has transpired on the same day as the launch of the fleet’s titular flagship: the Hegemony’s third Cataclysm-class superdreadnought HMV Annihilation. The ceremony took place in the Izweski Citadel before hundreds of Lords from across Moghes, Elder-Chiefs and Clan-Mothers from Ouerea, the K’lax Overlord Ta'Akaix'Zkaii'xay'yil K'lax, and both other high ranking members of the admiralty Lord-Admiral Trazarial Yizarus and Admiral Oyuti Gour'za. Admiral Xitac had been studying at the still-young Hegemonic Naval Academy, where even commoners may be trained to become warriors or officers despite lacking a noble Clan name. Xitac had shown consistent talent and promise since 2459, and in May, in the season of Versakh, he was tapped as the potential leader of the growing 3rd Fleet. The Vaurca strode across the grand hall of the citadel and approached Not’zar Izweski who was standing on an elevated platform in the center of the room before a large hearthfire. Next to Not’zar Izweski on either side was his Clan-Mother and High Priest Unzi. After Xitac took the five steps up the platform he stood before the Lord-Regent and kneeled. High Priest Unzi placed his hand on the Vaurca’s head and gave a prayer asking for the Great Spirit to bless his elevation to the post of Admiral and to grant him endless victories in battle against the enemies of all pious Sinta’Unathi. When that was done Not’zar Izweski finished the ceremony by handing Xitac a ceremonial cloak to signify his status. During the ceremony Xitac gave a speech, which was recorded for posterity. "The honor of commanding one of the hegemony vessels is not lost upon the hive or the brood of the Sleeper. Would I be able, I would give more than this body for defense of the Hegemony and its interests. Being the first of my species is one step, but it is a step towards greatness.I look here and see so many warlords, clans and scientific leaders, hero's of our time in one location. It is like I am looking at one of the old stories of Sedantis made real on this world under an alien sun. There are struggles that our hive and the hegemony will face and just like in the stories of old, we will conquer them. I close this ceremony, in the presence of my queen and in the dying amber light of the burning mother that casts its rays upon us, truly, it is as if it were a picture, frozen at this moment with the future of the hegemony awaiting on bated breath for victories yet to come." Not’zar Izweski himself spoke next. “Under the eyes of Sk’akh we have achieved something momentous today. When the K’lax first came here we feared them and what they would mean for us. Many of us sought to repel them from our space. But we decided to trust them and welcome them into our home. We have adapted remarkably well with one another. Xitac and his brood may not be Sinta in body, but they are Sinta in spirit. His abilities and merit are immense.” Being the first ever Vaurca to achieve such a high post anywhere in the civilized galaxy, Xitac’s prestige is already immense. The Vaurcan admiral will soon board the HMV Annihilation and take formal control of a fleet that consists of two dozen other warships. The fleet itself will move to the Youthstone system to defend the newly conquered moonworld of C-19B, which was seized during anti-piracy operations and the brief war against the Empire of Dominia. There are currently three more Cataclysms in production, which is far fewer than the original plan of 20 being built within the next 9 years. The moon of C-19B itself has been renamed Gwim’zala and is already boasting a population of 12,500 unathi. These colonists have been facing skrimishes with the resurgent pirate forces and Xitac will soon face his first battles as he is tasked with subjugating the entire region of space.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 http://i.imgur.com/HgLlyoQ.png Tajara Commander Receives High Honor At New Skalamar Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguist. A prestigious Tajara commander has concluded their visit in New Skalamar as part of a formal summit between Clan Izweski and Clan Hro’rammhad. The Tajara was invited following their dramatic and honorable success in the snowy fields of battle on their homeworld, where they struggle in an existential battle to press a title claim of their leader Halkiikijr Nated'Hakhan. During the summit Hro’rammhad met with Lord-Admiral Yizarus and several other Lords of Moghes and General Zik’san of the Ourean military. The overarching theme of the summit was a discussion of strategy and tactics, as well as the granting of a prestigious honor upon the Tajara commander. Lord-Admiral Yizarus described what brought the Tajara to the attention of the Izweski and other military leaders within the Hegemony. Quote "Hro’rammhad’s consistent success in battle was not the only condition of our interest. He is consistently shown as a man of deep and unwavering honor. In every battle he strikes only as hard as he must to destroy the enemy. Every possible life is spared. Despite living tens of thousands of lightyears away beyond the light of the Burning Mother, this man holds true to the warrior’s code of honor. If his soul had been manifest on Moghes within the body of a Unathi there is no doubt I would call him battle-brother.” Hro’rammhad was first invited to a summit following a battle in July, where their armored mechanical calvary forces swept their enemy into the sea, but in which Hro’rammhad was magnanimous in victory and spared the lives of thousands despite this slowing their advance. This has shown their desire to win honorably, rather than to simply win. During the summit the Tajara got into a long and extensive conversation with General Zik’san about the nature of ground warfare. Hro’rammhad insisted that the most effective strategy of mobile warfare is constant mobility, using spearpoint strategies for breakthroughs and encirclement, of which Zik’san, an experienced ground commander from the Contact War, gave his own insight. Quote “You are correct on the mobility aspect. But I find the best strategy to be a relentless attack. You must wash upon the enemy until you break through them like you are a great sea breaching a dam.” “What do you do when you must hold a position from the enemy?” "I would never embarrass myself by ever being seen on the defense.” Hro’rammhad later gravitated to Lord-Admiral Yizarus. Yizarus holds prestige from their conduct in the short war against the Empire of Dominia. During the battle his unconventional tactics and firm leadership brought victory from an otherwise deteriorating defeat. The conversation between the two was also recorded by our present journalist and has proliferated on social media. Quote “There is a lot of damage to be done if your vessel impacts the enemy at sufficient velocity.” Yizarus told Hro’rammhad. “This one drives a tank.” The Commander responded. After a pause, Yizarus replied: “A tank can cause a lot of damage when it impacts the enemy at a sufficient velocity.” The two shared a laugh and discussed the use of unconventional strategies. At the end of the summit Not’zar Izweski brought Hro’rammhad to the forefront of the summit’s assembly and surprised the Tajara with a prestigious award. Commander Hro’rammhad has been named an honorary Unathi, and was offered a tract of land within the newly restored region of Camp Integrity. Quote “Your conduct and exemplary character mark you out as a man of honor to be held up as an idol for all Unathi to aspire to follow. Within you shines the light of the Great Spirit, and the rays illuminate all those around you. You are Unathi in Spirit, sanctified by High Priest Unzi.” Not’zar Izweski presented Hro’rammhad with a ceremonial spear and the deed to the offered fiefdom. Hro’rammhad accepted the spear but refused the fiefdom . After the applause from the assembly he gave his own speech. Quote “This one is pleased to be greeted with such a warm welcome. This one has always appreciated the honorable ways of the Unathi. Some have questioned him for his means and conduct, but this one has always taken heart in the fact that the suns smile down on this one. Tajara have entered a very dark chapter of our history and it is very unfortunate the times we live in. This one always found hope for our people through the small rays of goodness coming from his brothers and sisters on Adhomai as we work together to free our world from the false tyrant Hadii. This one has also found hope in how Moghes has still retained a sense of honor and self respect even after all of the suffering it has gone through. Moghes and Adhomai have much in common, and this one knows we will only come closer together." After the summit ended Hro’hammrod briefly visited a fief on Moghes. Wearing shorts and long, loose fitting clothes to protect himself from the sun he stayed for only a few hours before returning to his shuttle. During his visit he apparently encouraged all of the serfs to collectivize themselves into a unique cooperative and to proliferate the income generated from the land’s copper mine amongst themselves. Hro’rammhad then departed the planet and has returned to Adhomai. It is believed he is continuing to share letters with General Zik’san as part of an obscure and esoteric debate on ideal treads for tanks.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 High Priest Unzi Bans Unsanctioned Magic - "Shamans Can No Longer Be Trusted" High Priest Unzi appeared before Skalamar from the balcony of the city’s great temple and read out his latest decree that formally bans the unsanctioned use of magic or spells. The Decree of Abolishment of Profane Acts was read to a crowd of thousands, amplified by mounted microphones. High Priest Unzi condemned all heretical and heathen magic users who performed rites or spells without the oversight of the Sk’akh Church, whether publicly or privately, and outlined punishments for violations that ranged from fines, imprisonment, or exile. The decree also warns that its punishments will extend to those who support illicit magic as well as anyone who seeks magic illegally. High Priest Unzi elaborated on his decree. “The dark cult that threatens our spiritual and physical survive have seized and corrupted our ways and magics. The Iron Masks have already uncovered the profane acts and rites of demons disguised as holy men offering services to unwary, upstanding Sinta.Only a priest, ordained by Sk’akh to reveal the truth to Her blinding light, is capable of tearing down the dark shrouds that conceal the rotten intentions of ner-do-wells. Our Holy Church, under His light, is the only safeguard against being clutched in the talons of evil.No longer trust your shamans, your witches, your seers, or any Sinta that claims a connection to matters outside the physical. We can no longer trust the wielders of ancient spells or magics. To understand, hear now of the story of a self-professed healer who offered rites and spells to heal sickly hatchlings. [...] and every infant gained the mark of the dark cult and became demons that made meals of their families.I understand your terror. I wish I did not need to terrify those who gather here today but you must understand the risks we take in this age of darkness.” Already a dozen arrests have been made within Skalamar and across several fiefdoms in the rural areas of the Untouched Lands. In Skalamar itself a Th’akh shaman was arrested a mere hour following the decree for the crime of Unsanctioned Magic during a ceremony where the shaman was performing a healing spell on a man afflicted with Scale Rot. The Maraziites have also made several raids in surrounding villages outside the city arresting several locally-known healers, alchemists, or unorthodox Sk’akh priests. All of them have been likewise charged with Unsanctioned Magic. The move has been met with mixed responses. Many peasants and guildsmen within the city have expressed alarm at the disproportionate arrests being made on Th’akh adherents.“The Church does not get a monopoly on magic,” claimed one Sinta guildsman who begged for anonymity, “this move will anger the ancestors and bring despair on us all and Unzi will be responsible for it.”
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted January 6, 2019 Posted January 6, 2019 (edited) Heathen Abominations Chased From Tzonia Editors note: Translated to Basic by human Sinta'Unathi linguis Shocking revelations from Tzonia have shaken all upstanding Sinta on Moghes to their core. In the morning of Sunday a delegation of Sinta arrived at the primary gatehouse of Moghes’ northernmost major city. The delegation consisted of what looked like 8 Unathi with robotic limbs and over a dozen IPC servants. But it would soon be revealed to be so much worse. The gatehouse was originally shut against the incoming caravan until Lord Tzonia arrived from his castle. When Lord Tzonia came to the gatehouse he demanded to see the leaders of the delegation and allowed the gatehouse to open. A woman of half prosthetics and a synthetic walked through the gatehouse, leaving the caravan behind. They claimed to be from Clan Ansiba, but none present knew this Clan. They claimed to be from the greater realm of the "Aut’akh".The two claimed to be from an assembly of Clans in the northern pole of Moghes. They spoke to Tzonia about the wonders they had created after discovering how to speak to Sk’akh through a machine, and that hundreds of Sinta daily were becoming more powerful with augments that gave them enhanced spiritual and magical energies. The woman provided proof of his remaining Sintahood by showing his vitals and heartbeat with a handheld medical scanner. He was described by Lord Tzonia as a metal egg, a shell surrounding the organs inside the torso. The male then claimed that they could remove their fully mechanical limbs, and swap them for other types of limbs whenever they pleased.Lord Tzonia is said to have been disgusted by the realization that these Sinta were maiming their bodies to merge with machines and told them they had obliterated their souls. The profane Ansiba abomination held up an egg and revealed that despite his synthetic nature, he was able to bring life with his wife, and that the egg in his arms was the first to be born from a machine and Sinta. The profane construct then claimed that they had the goal of having all Sinta’Unathi merge their souls into synthetic bodies, and that even hatchlings were being given synthetic implants and physically augmented with new limbs when they turned 16. The entire crowd were shocked to hear this coming from the delegation. Lord Tzonia lowered his halberd and seemed ready to launch at the two to slay them. He declared that it was for consideration of the safety of the egg in their possession that he did not slay them were they stood, but told them that his mercy would extend for only a few minutes before his rage forced his hand, and demanded that they leave or die. The Aut’akh delegation was then expelled from the city. Crowds swarmed Lord Tzonia and his castle demanding he chase them down with the city’s levy and destroy them. Lord Tzonia held a speech hours later in front of his castle, before a large assembly of his residents. He was flanked by the city’s leading Sk’akh priest and an Izweski clansman. Quote “Our city has been desecrated by heathens from the frozen north. They scurry under the snow embarking on a vile and despicable practice. These heathens defile themselves and force hatchlings to unspeakable horrors for the sake of their artificial and false god. I have demanded the Izweski fufill their obligations and provide a force to embark upon a crusade to expel from existence itself these profane abominations.” The Izweski representative assured the angry crowd that his cousin, Lord-Regent Izweski, was aware of the incident and would respond “soon”. The Sk’akh priest simiarily said he had contacted High Priest Unzi with the alarming news, and began preaching a sermon to the crowd about the soulless nature of profane machines. Mofo1995 Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 (edited) The Second Iron Crusade To Purge Abominations High Priest Unzi has declared a new campaign will be undertaken against the so-called Aut’akh that have revealed themselves and their base of operations in the north pole. Unzi is calling the campaign the “Second Iron Crusade”, in reference to the actions that saw the destruction of the Akhanzi Order only a year ago. Chapter Master Nu'gha has been appointed by Unzi to oversee the punitive expedition north. Nu’gha lead forces in the first crusade that saw dozens of cult strongholds in the mountains put to the torch and he was instrumental in several sieges of mountain temples. High Priest Unzi gave a speech describing the upcoming expedition. Quote “Since the days I brought the burning light of righteousness to the Church, I fought a vile and wicked evil that has taken root in the spirit of our people. I thought my heart was hardened to the horrors that I have taken the duty of shielding our people from. But I must admit that the arrival of the Aut’akh have shocked me. Even now my heart is filled with dread and terror. The reports I have read - even if only half of it is true - has turned my blood to ice in my veins. I cannot begin to voice the multitude of crimes done by the Aut’akh. They maim hatchlings with synthetic implants - they amputate young adults of their limbs and replace them with profane machines. They flay themselves and replace their skin with metal exteriors. All in the name of a vile artificial intelligence that they call Sk’akh. I have no grand speech about what we will do to them. They will be destroyed. That is all.” Chapter Master Nu’gha is believed to be rallying his expeditionary force somewhere near the Mimba Sea. Hundreds of volunteers from nearby villages have brought his forces to number in the thousands. Nu’gha also has in his employ six helicopters and several armored transports. Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski confirmed that he met with additional envoys from the northern heathens who entered the Izweski Citadel in secrecy to avoid violence. Not’zar Izweski said that the delegation would remain in his citadel “until we finish discussions.” No known deals or treaties have been made. There is incredible backlash towards the Lord-Regent with angry citizens throwing rocks at the citadel’s Guwan Guard, with local leaders and residents demanding the expulsion or destruction of the Aut’akh delegates. In addition Maraziites have taken up positions around the Citadel, apparently waiting to apprehend them the moment they emerge. Not’zar Izweski gave a speech from his balcony in response, which was televised across the Hegemony. In it, Not’zar Izweski stressed the importance of dialogue. “We must seek to understand why they have chosen their path. As residents of Moghes, they have the right to speak to the Hegemon and those that speak in his name. And they will continue to speak to me for as long as it pleases me.” Worryingly, in orbit of Moghes the incomplete 3rd Fleet commanded by Admiral Za'Akaix'Xitac Klax, the first ever Vaurca leader within the Hegemony, has released publically that a series of unidentified flying objects were detected taking off from the north pole of Moghes. Admiral Xitac gave a statement on the matter. Quote “For the past month, at least twelve ships a day have been spotted departing the north pole. The signatures on our sensors only lasted for micro-seconds at a time and intense patrols over the poles did not reveal any further information on the anomalies. At the time we believed they were being caused by micrometeors appearing on our sensors as they burnt up in the atmosphere. We believe now that there is collaborating evidence that the anomalies are in fact Aut’akh shuttles utilizing stealth technology to slip past our fleet. Any further Aut’akh shuttles are immediately disabled and boarded. The fleet will be following the orders of the Lord-Regent.” Edited January 9, 2019 by Mofo1995
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Maraziites Clash With Northern Heathens As Blockade Tightens Noose Our journalist Zi’hu has travelled with Chapter Master Nu’gha for the two weeks that his forces have assembled for their expedition to the frozen north. Having assembled east of the Mimba sea they set off towards the Guzari Sea. Hundreds of Maraziites, wearing iron masks and the signature cloaks, flanked the transport vehicles. They were followed by hundreds more volunteers that they had recruited from various villages on their way.According to Zi’hu, after reaching the western coast of the Guzari sea the expedition began encountering dire warnings left by the heathens of the north. Quote “Mounted scouts came back from a village a mile ahead of our convoy. They were holding photos that the villagers had been given by Aut’akh envoys days before. They were photos of artillery placements and Aut’akh weapons with pleas written on the back for the Maraziites to turn back or be destroyed. Nu’gha tore the photos to pieces.” More of these encounters happened as the convoy travelled northward from the coast, approaching the frozen north. Small unmanned drones harassed the convoy, dropping more leaflets asking Nu’gha to turn back. Nu’gha did not hesitate to order all drones shot out of the sky.As the weather dropped men began bundling up in protective winter gear. It was also when the grass gave way to snow that the first skirmishes began. The expedition was travelling through a valley when Aut’akh snipers fired upon the convoy. Nobody was harmed but even with two helicopters surveying the area the assailants were not found.“Well, we know now we deal with cowards with bad aim.” Nu’gha told our journalist after the encounter. More harassment plagued the expedition. In the middle of the night Aut’akh were apparently raiding the camp under the cover of darkness and stealing supplies. Multiple times entire caches of ammunition were discovered to be missing in the morning after, with only written warnings from the Aut’akh left behind. On the night of the 19th, as the expedition moved beyond the woods and into the rugged terrain of the far north, the dynamic took a sudden shift. The camp watch intercepted an Aut’akh raiding party as they were fleeing the camp carrying ammunition. A Maraziite rifleman on guard duty shot one of the five, killing them. Nu’gha brought the body into the camp and assembled the entire expedition, parading the robotic body before the soldiers and declaring their first victory against the heathen menace. The following morning during their march the expedition faced fierce and relentless harassment from Aut’akh snipers from the ridges and hills. Our journalist has last reported on the 21st that the expedition has taken at least six casualties a day as they near their staging area for a siege of an Aut’akh complex. The ability for Nu’gha to retaliate is hampered by the frustrating aloofness of the enemy. They are described by the men of the expedition to be like vengeful spirits - attacking ferociously and methodically before dispersing into the night. Back in the capital High Priest Unzi is facing pressure for the difficulty his expedition is facing. As the casualties mount before the crusade has even reached the first Aut’akh outpost, Unzi remains insistent that victory is near. Quote “The struggle of the righteous against heathenry and heresy is just that - a struggle. We did not expect an easy victory, but we will get it nonetheless.” In orbit of Moghes the 3rd Fleet appears to be much more effective in countering the Aut’akh. Admiral Xitac of Clan Klax has confirmed that his fleet has been able to decipher Aut’akh ship encryption and break through their cloaking technology. Quote “We have intercepted sixteen vessels since the 10th attempting to re-enter the northern regions. Per the orders of the Lord-Regent, each attempt to break the blockade was met with a show of force that caused the intruding vessels to turn back. One vessel was impounded and we seized hundreds of tons of supplies within it, a majority being food, mining equipment, and other construction materials.” In a form of a victory, the Aut’akh in the northern region of Moghes appear to be cut off and isolated. Their merchant fleet is unable to return to Moghes and are cut off entirely. There is no attempt so far to track down the renegade fleet of heathens, but it is hoped that without resupply the northern heathens will be starved into submission before being destroyed by the 2nd Iron Crusade.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Maraziites Defeated - Lord-Regent Decrees Aut'akh Allowed To Exist "Only Where The Snow Falls" The punitive expedition lead by Chapter Master Nu’gha has faced disaster. Out of the two thousand Maraziites, hundreds have been slain in battle and the survivors are flooding south in a shattered retreat from the pole. Chapter Master Nu’gha himself was captured in battle. Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski has quickly condemned the failure and has summoned High Priest Unzi to the Izweski Citadel to assert his control over the matter. Our journalist Zi’hu survived the defeat and is now speaking to us from a village on the north of the Guzari Sea. Quote “Ceaseless harassment from snipers plagued us for our march north. We all believed the Aut’akh showed a cowardly refusal to face the Maraziites in pitched battle and that this would continue. But we were marching through a valley, the Sinta on foot struggling to walk through the two feet deep snow. It was utterly quiet until we were suddenly ambushed. They burst up from the snow or came down from the mountains holding spears and rifles. Many of them were only partially augmented and the hide they still possessed was as white as the snow. Others were as bulky as a beast. I feared for my life and fled into one of the armored vehicles.” The Aut’akh ambush took the Maraziites and the volunteers by surprise, but they still fought viciously. Survivors say that the Aut’akh fought with an “unnatural” level of coordination and methodical skill, and displayed their horrifying abilities. One of the surviving Maraziites described seeing the capture of Nu’gha. Quote “He was in his breacher suit at the head of the convoy. He was cut off in the ambush and was fighting bravely with his energy glaive and pistol. Surrounded by two dozen Aut’akh warriors he damaged four of them before they overwhelmed him. I saw from my position they disabled his suit and knocked it onto its back. One of them had a welder on his arm and sliced open the breacher suit right there in the snow, exposing Nu’gha and extracting him out of his armor, breaking one of his arms. He struggled, but they dragged him off towards the mountain.” The rest of the convoy was forced to retreat under the relentless attack. They were chased for several miles before the Aut’akh abandoned the chase, disappearing into the snowy waste. The Lord-Regent has not taken the defeat well. He delivered a scathing criticism of High Priest Unzi, who has now faced a humiliating defeat against the northern heathens. Quote “There are reasons that the privilege of war is left to the Lords. When the unfamiliar play war it leads to humiliation and an unbearable loss of life. There is no reason that the High Priest should have conducted this expedition as unprepared as he did.” These unprecedented words of criticism against the High Priest were followed by Unzi’s summoning to the Citadel. There the High Priest met with the Lord-Regent and two Aut’akh representatives. After hours of negotiation the Lord-Regent’s guard threw open the doors of the Citadel’s grand hall and brought in the eager bystanders that crowded into the chamber. Before the Lord-Regent High Priest Unzi stood alongside two Aut’akh Representatives, Veetek Muz and Kethresh Yugan. Before them and the entire crowd, Not’zar Izweski gave his decree. Quote “The Aut’akh have delivered a defeat to the Maraziite Order, despite their best efforts. There is no room for the Church to meddle in affairs of war. As the voice of the Hegemon I am ending this now. I have summoned half of the levy of the Klax and one third of the levy requirements of the northern Lords to set up a quarantine of the Aut’akh.I have decreed that the Aut’akh may remain only within their current region. Whereever an Aut’akh steps upon Moghes that is not graced by snow, they will be destroyed. Where they walk upon the waste of our northern pole they will be allowed by me to exist. They will not come south, and we will not come north. Our blockade will remain. No Aut’akh will be permitted to return to Moghes and none will be permitted to leave. In exchange for the mercy I am extending to them, the heathens have agreed to release the captured Chapter Master. They have also agreed to cease augmentation of hatchlngs and to wait until their 16th year. They will not construct additional spaceships, and they will acknowledge the Izweski as the rightful rulers of Moghes.” Not’zar Izweski then gestured for the Aut’akh Veetek Muz to speak. Quote “We survived the apocalypse. That is all we want to do: survive by any means necessary.” High Priest Unzi gave the final statement when gestured to by Not’zar Izweski. His statement was also short. Quote “Things have not necessarily developed in the favor of the Church. If we cannot obliterate them then I will abide by a move seeing them wither upon the vine.” A large faction of Lords have voiced support for the Lord-Regent’s actions.“I have been encouraged to not see this as a ceasefire, but as the evolution of our conflict into a siege,” said Lord Aig’zah of Mudki, “their entire fleet is scattered to the seven winds and their home is locked away with no supply in a wasteland of ice and hopelessness. It is good that the Lord-Regent has asserted himself.” These developments have been seen by a few radicals as evidence of a flare up of the alleged rivalry between the Izweski clan and High Priest Unzi, which may have lead Not’zar Izweski to use the Aut’akh for the purpose of gaining an upper hand. These radicals must be reminded that the High Priest and Lord-Regent work in tandem to bring spiritual and secular peace of mind to all Sinta.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 (edited) Lord-Regent Seizes Freighters, Ends Trade Between Dominia & K'lax Four Dominion cargo freighters were stopped and boarded by ships of the 2nd fleet under command of Admiral Oyuti Gour'za. The crew of the freighters were briefly arrested and held by warriors of the 2nd fleet before being turned over to the Dominion embassy in orbit of Moghes. The search and seizure has scuttled an apparent trade deal between Queen Ta’Akaix’Zkail’xay’yil K’lax and the Kingdom of Dominia. The freighters entered the system at 11:28am (GST) through the local bluespace gate. Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski was then made aware of the trade agreement when he received a letter from Queen K’lax. The deal would have seen the K’lax sell the Kingdom of Dominia a large supply of k’ois being grown in the hive’s caverns of Tret. Not’zar Izweski then contacted Admiral Oyuti and ordered him to stop and search the freighters. The Lord-Regent then gave a public statement. Quote “Since our brief war of honor with Dominia, we have already faced much intrigue and captured many spy vessels and agents attempting to discover our secrets. We do not make it a public matter, for it is known by all men of sound mind that Kingdoms spy on one another. My vassals of the K’lax do not yet know the skullduggery that our friendly rivals partake in. These would not be the first freighters to come into our system filled to the brim with long range scanners and spy drones. We are not going to take this risk for little benefit to the Hegemony. I am using my privilege as Lord-Regent to end this deal and deny any further contact between Dominia and my vassals. I am the voice and arm of the Hegemony - it is not the place of vassals to engage in foreign politics.” The crew of the freighters have been returned but the four vessels themselves remain impounded as Izweski engineers move to give a thorough search of the vessels. The response from the nobility and the common people remain in most part supportive of the Lord-Regent. Admiral Oyuti seemed particularly zealous in his own statement. Quote “We already traded with Dominia. We traded fire. That is how it should remain between us.” Oyuti remains married to Lady Rizara, whom he rescued from a Dominian Admiral as the catalyst for the war in question. His hatred for the Dominians is well known. The diplomatic row has sparked protest from Dominia, with their diplomats immediately demanding a presence with the Lord-Regent. It is not clear if this will escalate, but for now it seems that the K’lax are completely unable to send their k’ois outside the system. Edited March 26, 2019 by Marlon Phoenix
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Lord-Regent Restores Ancient Warrior Title of Kataphract: "The Galaxy Shall Know Their Names" Not’zar Izweski has announced a revival of an ancient class and honorific that has nearly passed from Moghes in our modern age. The Lord-Regent has declared he will be bringing back the titles of Saa’Izweski and Zo’saa. (Translator’s Note: These would be Kataphract and Kataphract-Hopeful in Basic). There is much rejoicing from the conservative factions as many laud Not’zar for bringing back the prestigious distinction. He made a speech announcing the move early this morning in a televised speech from the steps of the Izweski Citadel. Quote “Since times immemorial Kataphracts have upheld the traditions of honor and martial skill, but who among us that are not the elders remembers the days of their exploits? These heroes of Sinta have teetered on the edge of oblivion. In our drive to push forward - even before we met the aliens that brought so much change to us - Kataphracts were a slowly dwindling group. It has been my duty to restore our home-world to a new glory, but I cannot sacrifice the past in order to save the future. By the power as Lord-Regent, in the name of the Hegemon, I am seeking to anoint an assembly of High Kataphracts. This council of five warriors will be the example that all of us will strive to meet. The ancient codes of conduct and honor will be brought out of dusty tomes and to the light of day. I, the Lords of the Realm, the Elder-Chiefs of Ouera, and existing Kataphracts will be invested with the power to anoint further Kataphracts in ceremony, and any Hegemonic Lord may anoint a suitable hopeful who proves themselves in battle or trial. In times of war, though we do not seek it outside where it is demanded by honor, Kataphracts shall defend the Hegemony from the threats that seek its destruction. In times of peace, Kataphracts shall spread themselves across the galaxy with the charge of defending the innocent, uprooting the evils of the galaxy, and being a living example of the exemplary Sinta’Unathi for all the galaxy to know our values and customs. Let any who is given the honorific Saa be known as a Kataphract, and may any known as Zo’saa be known as a Kataphract-Hopeful.” Following the speech, the few hundred remaining Kataphracts on Moghes that the Izweski were able to find have been given commissions by the Izweski clan to begin recruitment and outreach campaigns. Already a few thousand Unathi have flooded these Kataphracts and various nobles with requests for anointment. These Kataphract-Hopefuls are seeking to find employment underneath the handful of Kataphracts that still roam Moghes. The first High-Kataphract appointed by Not’zar Izweski on the same day as this announcement, Saa Yui’zai of Clan Timzula, described how this has radically changed his life when spoken to by our reporter. He was anointed shortly before the Contact War, and was honored for his vicious battle prowess juxtapositioned with his merciful and humane treatment of prisoners and innocents. Quote “I served the Hegemony for years, though few would know of my title before the War. When the War began, I served dutifully, but much was lost in the War. All that knew my title perished, and those that remained had a commitment to the twin sorrows of grief and famishment to follow the customs.” Saa Timzula committed himself to selflessly working for the dispossessed of the War but admits he struggled to maintain his identity in the face of a complete collapse of social and hegemonic recognition. Quote “I was never called upon, and all seemed to forget my very existence. To know that we are returning to the life of Moghes gives me hope for our future.” Several dozen Unathi have already been recognized retroactively for their worth and have been anointed into the Kataphract order. Not’zar Izweski has also said that he will continue to wait and look for particularly notable Sinta who may be deemed worthy enough for the incredible honor of High-Kataphract.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 Noble Woman Wastes Everyone's Time Demanding To Be Kataphract During a feast in which the doors of the Izweski Citadel were open for any Sinta to come prove their worth as a High-Kataphract, a noblewoman from the wasteland regions has insulted the entire affair by making the unusual demand of being anointed as an official Saa'Izweski. In the grand hall of the Citadel several hundred Lords and a handful of reporters from across Moghes and Chiefs from Ouerea were dining as a line of Kataphracts came before Not’zar Izweski telling of their deeds and status. Several dozen had already been sent out on quests across the galaxy to prove themselves sincere before the noblewoman Jiza H’izala arrived. Donned in her clan’s unpolished armor with an unimpressive faded zatimono strapped to it, she was initially presumed to be male when passing the outer gate. But when she came before Not’zar Izweski she removed her helmet and there was an audible grumble from the disbelieving crowd. She spoke to the Lord-Regent and opened immediately with her demand. Quote “Clan H’izala, which once stretched far and who’s name held esteem and respect, is now nearly extinct. There are no suitable Lords who would seek common cause with our dying house. Name me a Kataphract so my Clan’s name may be restored to glory and honor.” The unimpressed Not’zar Izweski waited patiently for the laughter of the noblemen to subside before he responded. Quote “I am familiar with the name H’izala. Your banners fought well, but are there none of your banners that would better suit this honor?” Hi’zala, undeterred, responded. Quote “It was the duty of my Clan to serve you Izweski in battle, and it was the honor of all of my clan’s male kin to die for you. When the enemy besieged our last remaining castle, it was myself and my last few cousins who fought a bitter retreat to reach the Untouched Lands. Now they are all dead. There is only myself and my father, who is in his age unable to sire out future, and I am all that is left. My family has died for you, lost our castles for you, and are now nearly extinct, all in order to secure your own Clan. What kind of service do you give in response, that you deny me what I am owed?” The room turned from amused to hostile at the demanding tone of the noblewoman. Several Lords scorned her and mocked the faded banner on her back. Not’zar Izweski, still seated on his throne, waved the woman off as the furor of the room grew. Quote “There are no circumstances at this time by which I could defy the reason present in all people of sound mind by granting you your request. I thank you for the service of your Clan but your request is impossible.” Clearly angered, Lady H’zala bowed before Not’zar and turned to leave as the nobles of the realm jeered and even tossed food at where she stood. The rest of the feast continued after this embarrassing incident. Several hundred were named Zo’saa and assigned as retainer to existing Kataphracts.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 Lady H’zala Fails To Impress: Demands To Be Kataphract Yet Again The Izweski clan have generously opened the doors of their great hall to any Sinta that seeks their audience that they may request to become a Kataphract, or even lobby to become High Kataphract. This generosity has been met with gratitude from Sinta of sound mind, but the festivities and ceremonies were interrupted again this day by Lady H’zala. Only days after her first arrival, Lady H’zala has arrived claiming the completion of a great feat. She was seen by our reporter approaching the Citadel from the outer wall with a handcuffed man in ragged armor, while she herself was wearing her Clan’s plate armor and faded zatimono on her back. She was stopped at the first checkpoint by the Guwan Guard who argued with her about whether or not she would be allowed entry, and who the man she was holding was. She claimed that the man was an infamous bandit leader in the Wasteland and that by being a noblewoman she was entitled to free entry into the Citadel during the ceremony. The scuffle was reported to Not’zar Izweski who told his Guwan Guard to allow her inside. Lady H’zala dragged the man in chains before Not’zar Izweski and threw him onto his knees before the Lord-Regent’s throne. Not’zar Izweski then recognized the man immediately. The man, a sinta with a red hide and ragged clothing, was the bandit leader Ak’ail Zonzai. He was an infamous bandit in the Wasteland who commanded hundreds of barbarians that raided and sacked countless villages and settlements. Not’zar Izweski opened with an astonished question. Quote “Who are you that you captured this plague of evil without perishing?” Lady H’zala responded by giving a tall and unbelievable tale of a woman besting several men in single combat. Quote “I traveled from your Citadel out into the Wasteland. In my possession was my deceased brother’s energy glaive, my shield, and a human laser rifle. On my Warmount I travelled and followed the movements of Zonzai and his band. As a woman they did not find me a threat, and so made no moves to hide themselves or evade me. This was a mistake. I have killed all of the warriors that stood between me and Zonzai, and I have defeated him in single combat. I have killed your enemies and their blood stains the sands of the Wasteland. Grant me the rank of Kataphract.” The nobles present were unimpressed, and there was a lot of pointing towards the humiliated Zonzai and laughter about his defeat at the hands of a woman. One present noble, Overlord Zutazki Gwim'zala, who stood on the esteemed elevated platform next to Not’zar Izweski, spoke out next for the crowds. Quote “Perhaps Zonzai was behaving as is proper and stayed his hand as to not strike a woman. Taking advantage of the proper and honorable conduct by Sinta men is not a sign of bravery, but of a conniving opportunist.” Lady H’zala became offended and responded angrily. Quote “Not so long ago Admiral Oyuti started a war with our ally in the name of protecting the honor of a foreign princess and he was brought here and lauded for bravery and allowed to keep his rank and post. I come before you with an enemy of our realm in chains, having defended the honor of our people, and you call it conniving? Were I a man you would offer me your daughter to walk out of this Citadel in marriage with.” Overlord Gwim’zala started to angrily retort as the assembled nobles grumbled but Not’zar Izweski silenced them all by standing. Leaning heavily on his cane the Lord-Regent gestures to High Kataphract Saa Yui’zai of Clan Timzula, the first and only one of the prestigious rank. Quote “While I am impressed by the exploit of Lady H’zala and believe her tale to be honest and sincere, I wish to defer my judgement upon this matter to our honorable Saa Timzula.” Saa Timzula bowed and addressed those present, as well as the expectant looking H’zala. Quote “In the times we live in we must seek to balance our future with the customs of the past. Lady Hz’ala is clearly brave, but in this instance I cannot see an exemption to be made. It is one thing to defeat a powerful enemy; it is yet another to commit to the trades of war and honor, which belong to men.” Not’zar Izweski nodded his head and bid Lady H’zala farewell. With a determined look about her H’zala bowed and turned to leave. The bandit leader was taken into custody by the Guwan Guard and can be expecting a beheading by month’s end. The rest of the ceremony has proceeded well, with hundreds more Kataphract-Hopefuls sent out on quests throughout the galaxy.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 Lady H’zala Stuns Everyone, Causes Upend of Kataphract Tradition For the third time a ceremony meant to honor the brave Saa’Izweski that adventure across the galaxy was interrupted by Lady H’zala. But this time, rather than being kicked out in disgrace, she has been anointed as the first female Kataphract in the Hegemony’s history as well as joining the council of High Kataphracts alongside Saa Yui’zai. Lady H’zala came to the outside gate and was stopped by Not’zar Izweski’s Guwan Guard. They declined her access under the pretense of her last few attempts at disrupting the ceremonies. Lady H’zala presented her zatimono and demanded her rights as a noble to see the Lord-Regent. Not’zar Izweski was informed of the disturbance as he was taking audience with a dozen Saa-Hopefuls and an attendance of noblemen and observing Kataphracts. The Lord-Regent was seen quietly speaking with one of the other members of the Izweski clan and Saa Yui’za before allowing H’zala entry. The noblewoman entered the hall to an onset of groaning from the Lords in the audience. She bowed before the Lord-Regent, who welcomed her with a less than welcoming greeting. Quote “You have demanded your rights as a noble to seek my audience. You have it. It is my hope you understand that you try my patience.” H’zala responded with her bold demand immediately. Quote “You have acknowledged my rights as a noble of this realm. For that you have my thanks. I have one final right I seek to have fulfilled. You cast me out in our last meeting claiming I am unfit to take part in the realm of war and battle, calling them a man’s realm. I demand my right to prove myself through a duel. I will defeat any man here until you recognize my worth and name me Kataphract.” The response from the audience was uproarious laughter. Overlord Zutazki Gwim'zala, present once more at the Lord-Regent’s side, spoke out in his booming voice over the laughter. Quote “I am one of your critics. And I would not demean myself to duel a woman.” H’zala responded curtly. Quote “You refuse to duel me, so it seems you forfeit and name me victor by default. With your forfeit it seems I will walk out of here with your daughter after all.” Gwim’zala angrily called forth his son and heir, Prince M’zaut, to duel Lady H’zala. The two fought in the grand hall before the entire audience of nobles and the press, with Lady H’zala using her clan’s halberd and Prince M’zaut using a sword. To the suprise of everyone Lady H’zala emerged victorious, knocking M’zaut onto his back and holding the halberd to his throat so he could not rise. Lady H’zala shocked everyone present by then proceeding to defeat three more champions sent before her. Saa Ziau’zai, Saa Uia’ozai, and Lord Xaiza. She was stopped only by High Kataphract Saa Timzula himself. When she was knocked to the floor in defeat, bloodied and bruised, the assembly of noblemen breathed a sigh of relief or applauded her defeat. Not’zar Izweski tapped his cane and appeared ready to speak up but was interrupted by Saa Timzula holding out his hand and helping Lady H’zala back up. He turned around and addressed the entire assembly. Quote “It takes a warrior’s spirit, tempered by determination, to do as Lazy H’zala as. Three times you have given her the time of day, and twice you turned her away. Unshaken, she has pursued her goal relentlessly. Her ancestors clearly grant her their strength. In our last encounter, Lord-Regent, you asked me my stance. It has now changed. I am asking you to anoint Lady H’zala as a High Kataphract.” Not’zar Izweski accepted the request and anointed an extremely pleased Lady H’zala as High Kataphract in an elaborate ceremony. Saa H’zala now stands with Saa Yu’zia as one of two of the planned six High Kataphracts. Her anointment has been met with shock and resentment from the traditional elements of the Hegemony, but she also has many supporters. On Ouerea Saa H’zala has become a household name, with her likeness appearing in many media events and her name coming up as an inspiration from Elder-Chiefs and Clan-Mothers. On Moghes many more people are divided, with some upset that the Lord-Regent would go against tradition and allow a woman into combat.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 Hero Of Youthstone To Be Named High Kataphract A lavish ceremony has been announced to honor the exploits of the warrior Ozal’kai Zizae and have him named High Kataphract by the Lord-Regent. The young naval officer recently took part in an intense battle between elements of the 3rd fleet on patrol in the Youthstone system that were ambushed by a large force of marauding raiders. Zizae was the second in command of the Foundation corvette HMV Spirit Keeper that was patrolling the outskirts of the system with four other ships. The ambush occurred at 9:40am Relative Time. Sixteen pirate corvettes bluespaced into weapons range and immediately opened fire on the four corvettes. One of the pirate ships rammed into Zizae’s vessel as part of the attack, killing Captain Haudasha and injuring nearly everyone in the bridge. Faced with a boarding party, Zizae assumed command of the Spirit Keeper. He organized a defense and met the boarding party with his energy sword and shield. Together with the remnants of the crew, he fought back the savages. He is said by his men to have slain six of the raiders. With the boarding party defeated, Zizae launched a counter-attack within the enemy corvette. As the battle around them raged Zizae fought through the hallways of the enemy ship and cleared deck by deck until he came to the bridge. Leading his squad he breached the enemy bridge and killed the pirate captain that was leading the entire assault. With their flagship defeated, the ambushing forces immediately lost all morale and routed from the battle. The patrol lost fifteen Sinta while the pirates have lost twenty-five of their number with eight captured. All five Foundation class vessels are expected to return to duty after repairs within a week. Zizae was immediately recommended by the other officers in the fleet to be named a Kataphract for his brave conduct under pressure. Within hours of the news reaching Moghes the two High Kataphracts, Saa Timzula and Saa H’zala, quickly announced that they would be asking Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski to anoint Zizae to join them as High Kataphracts. Quote “Some say it is too soon, but it is clear that within this Sinta is a strength unknown to all but a few. It is clear that he is a manifestation of all that is good and honorable, and he must join us to be a beacon of virtue and bravery that all may look upon for inspiration.” Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski agreed, and has summoned Zizae to the capital. Lords and Overlords from all across the realm have been invited to this ceremony to witness Zizae be inducted as High Kataphract, including the 3rd Fleet’s Admiral Za'Akaix'Xitac Klax. Unfortunately Zizae’s Clan, formerly a minor noble house, was known to have been scattered to the winds in the chaos of the Contact War. Intense efforts are being made to locate and track down any surviving elements of Zizae’s family in order for them to witness the honor being given to a member of their clan, and to celebrate their rebirth. The speed at which the ceremony is being planned and assembled is believed to be due in part due to Not’zar Izweski’s desire to anoint an uncontroversial and popular candidate after he rose a former noblewoman H’zala to the High Kataphract position. It remains a sore topic for members of the nobility on Moghes, even as she is popular with the common people and almost all of Ouerea.
Bygonehero Posted May 6, 2019 Posted May 6, 2019 (edited) Pid to be Darkened, K’lax Nuclear Stockpile Disarmed Today, the Council of Lords met the Tret representatives within Skalamar for ruling upon the fate of Pid. As earlier reported this year by another paper, The Vaurca of Tret, led by Overlord Zkaii of K’lax came forward with a proposal for reducing its apparent magnitude to aid in the search of Phoron-laden systems. Oddly enough, the release of Dominian freighters and trade sovereignty were also in their proposal. These clauses would allow the K’lax to begin self-regulated trade with foreign powers, in exchange for higher tax percentages within the Hegemony. In addition, the Vaurca representatives released plans for the economic development of the system, once phoron deposits are found. While at first thrilled, the council of Lords wished more from the K’lax, citing the cultural significance of Pid, and the ridiculous notion of allowing trade with a hostile foreign power. To these issues, K’laxan representative Wanski, the unathi guild master of the Tretian Medical Guild comments... “My lords and Sinta, you're already helping the Dominian government economically, and with your own Sinta. Look at the megacorporations or the Jargon Federation. They make it impossible to keep an insulated economy anymore.Just as my ancestors watch over me, I know that Mogesian products bought and sold by Nanotrasen find a sizable market within the Empire of Dominia. What we are offering is a chance to reap greater benefit than what you would ever get from a human company. Additionally, we’ve one last proposal to provide a better deal.” With this, guildmaster Wanski sits down, and a video begins to play on a nearby viewscreen. Spoiler The video begins with static and some shaking, making it obvious to viewers that it is being filmed by a hand camera. In the foreground all throughout the horizon of the shot, we see an upheaved mountain of ice, creating an irregular edge that surrounds our view on all sides, indicating that the filmer is within a massive oblong crater. At its rough center, propped up upon giant ice chewed metal pylons is a massive metal structure, many hundreds of times larger than the largest skyscraper upon Moghes. It stretches kilometers up out of the crater, giving the structure the illusion of bending. Just before hitting ground level, the structure terminates, being lifted by yet more frozen over pylons. At eye level, the base of the structure glows like a sun. The bottom of the structure screams fire from a massive nozzle,a roaring blast furnace billowing heat throughout the crater and explaining why the filmer is on solid ground. Surrounding the structure is a steaming lake of liquified metal. All around the metal lake, Vaurca can be seen, harvesting more solid pieces that ripple out from the lakes less viscous center. The video focuses on several unathi wearing yellow hazmat suits. These unathi and the filmer are led to a section of the metal lake, housing tens of thousands of missiles in organized grid piles. The Vaurca here beckons the unathi to inspect the cite, showing them the piles of unexploded warheads that continue on like a maze. Emblazoned on their sides are radiation yield and tonnage, explains Vaurca translators. After a few more minutes of inspection, the video ends with a view of some concerned looking unathi. “ The K’lax hive is willing to disarm its nuclear stockpile entirely as part of the proposal my lords. This would rid our system of a significant threat, to everyone.” finishes guild master Wanski just before the council takes a short recess for deliberation. The rest of the proceedings occur behind closed doors, but not two hours later, the Council of Warlords issued that it has agreed to the K’laxan proposal. As news of this agreement hit Tret, the few megacorp mining operations upon Tret issued a public warning to all of its employees. Once Pid has been darkened, their findings conclude that Tret will have 27% darker day and night cycle. The report goes on to explain that by removing the reflected light of Pid will have a significant effect on their operations on Tret. Elsewhere news of the imminent disarmament of K’laxan Nuclear Warheads has met with widespread joy, from every Sinta our paper interviewed. Whether or not this proposal was worth it is yet to be seen, but it can be said that, for now, All unathi may sleep safer tonight. Edited May 6, 2019 by Bygonehero
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted May 25, 2019 Posted May 25, 2019 "Hero Zizae” Exposed - Stripped of Honors and Imprisoned Awaiting Judgement The warrior known as Zizae, who had only two weeks ago had been heralded a hero scheduled to be anointed a High Saa, has had his secret identity as a Guwan exposed during the feast within the Izweski Citadel. He is now held in the Izweski dungeon awaiting his fate. The feast began early morning. Several Lords of the realm were present with a large crowd of onlookers from the city behind a separating rope looking on into the hall. Zizae was in the center feasting at a table with an ensemble of Lords with Not’zar Izweski seated on the elevated throne observing the proceedings. Those present during the celebration had continued to assume that Zizae’s family and clan remained lost in the Wasteland, but an hour into the festivities Not’zar Izweski rose from his seat, supported by his cane, and made an announcement. Quote “The family of our brave Ozal’kai Zizae was believed lost and scattered to the winds, never to be found again. But he fought for his banner and upheld the righteous honor of his Clan. I am here today to say that this was not for vain - not only will we honor him with an anointment to High Saa as a Kataphract, but I have dedicated these last few weeks to find and bring back the father and Clan Lord of our brave Zizae - Clan Lord Hu’tali Zizae.” Not’zar gestures towards a large door nearby and it opened. Inside stepped Clan Leader Hu’tali. He was met with applause as he walked inside looking proud and in good spirits. But when he saw the nervous Ozal’kai seated at the table, his expression changed and everyone around him saw disbelief and anger. He stood where he was silently, glaring ahead to the confusion of the Lord-Regent. When asked what was wrong, Clan Lord Zizae pointed at Ozal’kai and declared to the whole room a shocking turn of events. Quote “This is not my son Ozal’kai. This is his brother, Mizoha. Mizoha Guwan.” The entire room erupted as the truth was revealed. The Lords who realized they were sharing the same food as a Guwan hurriedly left the table, some flipping them over in their rush. Others dropped the pitcher that the Guwan had touched and made unclean. Not’zar Izweski was so shocked that it took him several moments before giving the order to his Guwan Guard to seize Ozal’kai, and then he addressed him with a simple, exasperated question. Quote “Why?” With his head hanging down as he was held by two Guwan Guards, Ozal’kai replied. Quote “While I was cast away by my Clan, I never lost my love for it. My brother always wanted to be a warrior, but he died in the War an anonymous casualty. I wanted to carry on his name, believing myself to be the only Zizae not with the ancestors.” Several in the crowd were shouting for his exile into the Wasteland, or other severe punishments. Not’zar Izweski allowed the chaos of the crowd to continue as he appeared to contemplate. Then Not’zar Izweski spoke again. Quote “A Guwan is never the last of a Clan. You were never a Zizae after the moment of your exile. Your deceit has undone all of your deeds. While I cannot deny your heroism, I also cannot fathom an age where a Guwan would be given anything but what is appropriate for their status. You will be held in the dungeon of the Watch, so as you do not defile the dungeon of the Izweski Citadel, and I will speak to your Clan Lord as to your fate.” Mizoha was dragged away by the Guard and Not’zar Izweski unceremoniously dissolved the festival. The attendees were escorted out as Clan Lord Zizae was earnestly speaking with the Lord-Regent. It’s unknown what fate will befall the Guwan, but the realm is abuzz with the possibilities.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted June 7, 2019 Posted June 7, 2019 K’lax Doctor Saves Wasteland Town From Raiders and Becomes Kataphract Formerly housing a hundred thousand, only a few thousand people reside in the town of Mazar’kii. It is tucked away in a desolate part of the Wasteland east of the terraforming site Camp Integrity. Raiders nearly wiped the remaining inhabitants from the face of Moghes, but they were saved by an unlikely source: A Vaurcan doctor named Za’Akaix’Ziza K’lax. Doctor Ziza told reporters after the incident that he was drawn to the wastelander town specifically because it was abandoned by other medical professionals. Ziza alone open and ran a small clinic in the remnants of a former guild hall, receiving irregular shipments of basic medication from the K’lax hive on Tret. He was shaken down and threatened by raiders several days into his arrival. The bandits regularly harassed the town, taking food, supplies, and captives to work within their infernal camps. One witness at the time remarked on what transpired. Quote “Six of them entered the clinic and started ransacking it, calling the doctor an insect and saying they would kill him if he did not give up all his supplies from now on. Ziza tried to argued with them and was struck by one of their rifles in whatever you would call their gut. He got a crack on it and started bleeding yellow fluid everywhere. The raiders made off with almost all the supplies and even carried out a patient that was suffering from radiation sickness, believing they could get a ransom.” Ziza was forced to explain to his other several dozen patients, several in critical condition, that the entire month’s medical supplies had been stolen. Zajzu Mazkari, who was awaiting an operation on his kidney, described the conversation just before Ziza left. Quote “He was explaining in Basic that it would be a month until he got more anesthetic and surgical tools. I reminded him that when I came in he said I had a week to live without the operation. He just got quiet for a moment. They don’t have facial expressions, I just watched him click his mandibles a moment. He said he would ‘take care of it’ then just turned and left.” Ziza left the town and its residents did not see him for seven days. Witnesses from across the regions east of the town, however, frequently spotted the bizarre sight of a Vaurca wandering the sand dunes. Our journalist tracked down a travelling scavenger who described an encounter with Ziza twelve miles away east of the town. Quote “My truck was full of scrap and goods I was driving around to sell. He looks strange but it is not until he lowers his hood that I realize he is one of those vaurca. I sold him a rifle and an old pre-war motorcycle with treads. He rode off and it was very bizarre.” Ziza followed the raiders to their caravan of retrofit vehicles. In the caravan the patient that had been kidnapped from the clinic described the sudden ambush by Ziza. Quote “I was tied up to a pole near the back truck. They had kept asking me how much money I thought my clan would spring for me. From the top of a sand dune behind them three red blasts came down at the trucks. The first one exploded, and the second one broke through the window and set the interior on fire. From the top of the sand dune this hooded figure on a motorbike came roaring down the razorback. Another blast hit one of the raiders and they were instantly set alight.” In the ambush Ziza used his speed and arcane Vaurcan side-arm to sow chaos and panic amongst the raiders. The Sinta that was set ablaze from the weapon soon turned out to be the leader of the raiders. Seeing his fate, the followers began to scatter in all directions. The surviving trucks kicked up sand as they drove off, and some even ran on foot, leaving their hostage and several crates of supplies behind. Ziza fired shots with the rifle purchased from the merchant but did not pursue, instead liberating his patient. He brought him and nearly all of the stolen medical supplies back to Mazar’kii, where he was lauded as a hero. Word of his deeds soon spread to the capital, and now, a week after it transpired, Lord-Regent Not’zar Izweski has summoned Ziza to the capital to be given a commendation, and he hinted at a possible anointment to High Kataphract was in store. Quote “Our K’lax friends and citizens continuously prove they are as invested in the greatness of the Hegemony and its citizens as any true Sinta. This Doctor Ziza showed incredible strength and resolve and it is a true testament for all Sinta everywhere.” Ziza has accepted the invitation and it is arranged to take place next week.
