Character/Player Complaint: Hackie Mhan, Ganking

Reason for complaint: The borer round that day, started by Garny.

So yeah, borer round. First 2/3's of the round were pretty cool, it genuinely felt like a survival situation. The last 1/3, however, kind of turned into a chucklefucking murderboning rampage. Towards the end, when the shuttle was called, my character (Iyuro Uvo'dar) and Phoebe Essel were scurrying through maint tunnels to get to the escape pods (we didn't want to get discovered and converted into brainless slaves, of course.) We got to the maint tunnels above arrivals, right above the door that was right next to the pods.

First, we see someone in a security hardsuit go by. He didn't make a big deal of things, simply went off on his way around the station for whatever reason.

However, one of the converted ERT members, Ltr Helosi (controlled by a borer), spotted us. He spun around a couple of times, shot the welding tank in the maint tunnel to blow open the tunnel, ran in and gunned both of us with a ballistic pistol. I try running out of the breach (he breached open the wall into arrivals as well). He chases me down and shoots me with a laser gun, presumably after yanking Phoebe Essel out of the maint locker and murdering her (or beating the shit out of her, didn't really have vision), and kills me.

Not one word was exchanged between us. Not one. Only a few moments of silence before he exploded maint and ran in like Rambo on steroids. And sure, hivefleet had been a really robust skrell proto that destroyed/taken over half the station (kudos to him), but there was at least some retaliation time to run away or fight (at least when he raided science, not sure about security).

I feel also that Hackie had been wandering outside the station walls scanning for people for the sole sake of murdering the shit out of them.

I adminhelped it, Alberyk answered it and said that Hackie had been the one to do it. I asked him again, just in case.

Quick note, that wasn't Tpr Helosi - It was someone that had gotten Helosi's ID after I had a very similar encounter with the warden. I'd actually encountered him twice, was shot on sight both times, the first one he shot at a welding tank and nearly killed me with the explsoion (I managed to escape, but was permanently deaf). Second time he lit me up immediately, took my stuff, and left me in a chair cuffed and deaf. Another borer had me released after a few.

Also, Hackie was told to leave arrivals, because he was pretty much sitting there and attacked an engineer that just joined without a word, crushing her ribs with a stun baton without any kind of interaction.

Alright dudes, I'm feeling some good vibes so I'll give a response. I've also got some free time, so let's just get this over with, m'kay?

Okay, first incident, not me. Another borer was probably involved with the explosion. Second point, I didn't capture you, and we were trying to communicate with you, but we really couldn't considering you were deaf (you were pretty blunt about it). Now, my memory is very spotty, so I believe the second incident I'd thought you escaped. Now, we were taking your stuff, and leaving you alive so some borer could infest you, and it's his problem then. We were pretty strict as a group after the medbay thing, and gabobble got tense. Basically keeping hosts alive at that point wasn't efficient, so our policy was, if you don't comply you get killed.

 

Also, Hackie was told to leave arrivals, because he was pretty much sitting there and attacked an engineer that just joined without a word, crushing her ribs with a stun baton without any kind of interaction.

 

Wasn't sitting there, I was chasing some hosts down to be brought to Security and infested. With I think five people at the time, I smashed her ribs as a distraction and ran out. She had Medical close by, and could be patched up somewhat. It was a high intensity situation, and I tried my best to diffuse it and roll out. I believe I received your PM a little afterwards. I wasn't camping it.

Now the main part of the complaint. I was chasing Red Hardsuit guy down there, moving real fast using binoculars and all that kind of stuff. I wasn't floating around and ganking folks. I was kind of in the mode to shoot dudes, right. I was taking pot-shots at the perp and everything. It was a sort of intense situation. Right, so I think I spotted you I flew around a bit, and I fired at the tank. Boom, vent I move in and gun you folks down. Afterwards I realize, 'Oh crap these people were enjoying themselves and AHHHHH'. I moved you guys out to primary tool storage, vomited out some new borers tried to kind of leave you in the open so someone could get your bodies, clone or infest them. Or, you could infest them yourselves. I was kind of at the time feeling pretty bad about the thing, tried to make sure you guys could get back into the round and enjoy the few seven or so minutes left of the round. I'm really sorry about that mess, dude. It was all my bad, it was an action of impulse in the midst of a high-intensity situation.

Ok, i apologize that i didnt get to this sooner. Work has had me really busy the past week and a half. Anyway lets get this underway finally. So if i understand correctly hackie you smashed a fresh spawn's rib cage...as a distraction?

Well, if I can recall correctly there were five folks, all unborred, and at that time it could have gotten really spicy. She came out of the airlock right beside me, I harm battened her and ran out. I can understand from the fresh spawn's perspective it would really suck to just walk out into the middle of a cluster fuck. The new spawn walked out into the middle of a conflict un-aware, and got messed up.

Super sorry for leaving this up in the air so long, works been work lately. Anyway ive sug some log spelunking and have determined there was indeed the on going conflict hackie described. It DOES really suck to get beaten as a fresh spawn like that (in fact its against server spirit). In this situation though I can kinda understand it.

I really feel like this one was just an accident born of a tense situation on hackie' part. Lets just try a bit harder in identifying our targets next time and call it a day yeah?
