Haveatya
I think that security would provide more light producing equipment for a system with infamously dim lighting. I think it would be a realistic and good idea to put a built in light on the security helmet, though the security armor would produce a similar effect. With maintenance being so dark, I believe it would be practical to have a helmet light, or at least the capability to place a light on it. Link to comment
Wesmas
I think having it on the armor would be better, as at code green helmets are not worn. But it would be nice to have built in lighting for security. Link to comment
Serveris
I recall Baystation planning the tactical equipment SWAT helmets at one point having several attachments that could be requisitioned from cargo (Ie, mounted NVGs, helmet cameras, mounted flashlights), however for some reason that I can't recall at the time, it was never gone through. Adding a system for making mountable objects to them - and then making said objects couldn't be too difficult. Link to comment
Haveatya
I'm sure being able to mount a security maglite to a helmet with a screwdriver could be easily coded and would be a reasonable idea. The armor appears to be a kevlar style vest, not suitable for a built in light. The helmet would be good though. The problem is that there are very few security lights at the moment so it may be better to build it in like the rig suit helmets. Link to comment
SierraKomodo
As a side note, the maglites /can/ be placed into your suit storage slot while wearing any of the security armor items. Link to comment

Haveatya
In place of an energy rifle or laser rifle sure, but I feel like giving a future security force something contemporary security forces has shouldn't be difficult to rationalize. Link to comment
UnknownMurder
Armor lights... Like the Colonial Marines? As for the Helmet lights... Though, if you want my opinion. I don't think we need lights. The security team has flares that is hardly used or left in the locker and tend to use their PDA as a light source. Just saying, I see most members wander in the darkness not caring where they're going in the maintenance because they KNOW where to go. The weakness is to that is that they are unable to see what is beneath or surrounding them. Oh, and you can light a flare in your pocket and wander about and thus prove this to be useless. Just a thought. Not like I'm trying to attack you or shun you. Probably tell us something why we SHOULD definitely have this rather flares. Link to comment

Flares are limited, and go out after a while, and there is no way to make or order more of them, as far as I am aware. PDA lights provide very little visible range in darkness, thus making them pretty shitty for cruising around maint, especially if you're an officer going in after a suspect. I'd like to see Serv's idea for different helmet attachments implemented, because that sounds pretty cool, would meet the needs of the suggestion, and would also provide a new sub-branch for R&D. Haveatya
The problem of a number of these suggestions require an officer to give up slots for tactical equipment just to function in a station where half the time you need a light. A majority of officers wear their armor around but not a helmet, giving them a toggle-able light there allows them to still carry their flash & handcuffs in their pockets and a taser or rifle on the armor. Just trying to optimize their loadout and give them some functionality. Engineering hard hats come with lights already don't they? So that type of coding is already in the game and shouldn't be difficult to transfer open but I don't know how hard it would be to add to the sprite. Link to comment
Wesmas
Honestly, I think the option of adding stuff RnD could research to modify security gear sounds cool. Would be a nice mechanic for the newly planned RnD system. Link to comment
