Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Sometimes we walk into a CCIA meeting. Sometimes we get glared out and meekly walk back out. Sometimes we get suspended for 7 days. These meetings usually happen on the bridge in the meeting room, which is a high traffic area for the HoP/even the Captain. This means the meeting room is basically a NO-GO zone for Command. I myself was suspended for walking in without realizing a meeting was going on. Other rooms are sometimes used. CCIA often have to rely on AI's to do the airlock bolting/unbolting but this is not reliable. Allowing CCIA to bolt airlocks at command will mean there is a sharp drop in accidental intrusions and let them hold their hour long meetings without fear of accidental intrusions. If you bypass bolted doors to interrupt a meeting then it's far more clear what your intentions are.
LordFowl Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Do you mean to say that CCIA should have telekinetic power over airlocks?
Owen Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 Bureaucratic Magic. But if this will be a serious thing maybe it can just be a tool or something that signals for doors to bolt or not. [Editing out me being dumb]
pickled_tomato Posted December 20, 2016 Posted December 20, 2016 While I don't agree with magical powers, I do agree with Owen's suggestion of there being some kind of tool. Alternatively, a button could be added to the conference room that bolts the door automatically. There could even be some kind of screen that displays OCCUPIED. As for meetings taking place in other rooms, that probably shouldn't be happening. It wouldn't happen if there was a button put in place just for them. Additionally, a button could also give a crafty antagonist some tactical leeway. Really, it's not fair at all for an agent to get mad at you for something that you can't help.
Alberyk Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 What about the following; CCIA gets Central command access only maglocks inside their bags or where they spawn.
Azande Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Or, a better idea. The IAA Office gets remapped into something with an actual meeting area (the old one was great, and the two IAA desks both had spots for interviewees to sit), and the CCIA can use the local Internal Affairs Department office for their work, instead of the Head of Staff Conference Room.
UnknownMurder Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Or... I can just tell the AI to bolt the door? Tell the Head of Staffs to stay out of the Conference Room? CCIAs are not lazy people.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 The CCIA would just be said to have a button on their PDA. Being spawned with maglocks is also fine. And as I said in the OP. Sometimes the AI and borgs are not available. In the meeting I walked in on and was suspended for walking in on, the AI bolted it for the first meeting, then went into storage when the second meeting began, leading to the intrusion.
Nanako Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 it seems like the best idea would just be to have the meeting room somewhere else, in a place where its not necessary to go through it
Snoopy11 Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 Or we could implement a button in the meeting rooms that bolt the doors, which is like, The best idea ever.
