CakeIsOssim Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Borgs used to be able to swap tools without having to manually store one and then select the other. Borgs also had a thing where, if you examined them, it would show their tool hardpoints, what is being held on them, and a light indicator to show the examiner which tool they have active, if any. The AI used to also be able to examine anyone and everything by using crtl+shift+click. These features were lost to the Bay merge long ago, and it'd be friggin' sweet to have them back again.
Guest Complete Garbage Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 This, please. Especially the borg tool-swap thing, that was wonderful.
Haveatya Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 While some people argue that cyborgs are too strong, I believe they could use some quality of life adjustments. A cyborg can be easily defeated and normally cause no problem anyways. Definite +1
Pratepresidenten Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 I cant say Ive ever experienced any of these, but from what I read here, they sound fuckin' sweet.

A cyborg can be easily defeated and normally cause no problem anyways. Definite +1 The power of Cyborgs, comes from their Module balancing more than anything. I'm in support of this, even if for whatever reason Modules have to be nerfed or whatever, but I doubt that's needed for this change. Swapping between tools as a Cyborg is kind of painful, and it's scary to think nobody can see that you're approaching them with a Circular Saw/Plasma Cutter in hand. I think that change would make it more clear how they should be reacting ICly, and really help out overall. I want this, it'll make it more clear if a 'borg is aggressing or not, as well as make playing them much more convenient without much powercreep.
Lohikar Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 When you say an indicator to show what tool the borg has equipped, do you mean just a note in the examine text, or an actual sprite change to the borg?
Fire and Glory Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 When you say an indicator to show what tool the borg has equipped, do you mean just a note in the examine text, or an actual sprite change to the borg? In the past if you examined a borg it'd display a list of its module slots and what's in them, the sprites remained the same.

It was something like: This is Borg McAbused, an Engineering Cyborg! Tool hard point #1 holds nothing. Tool hard point #2 holds nothing. Tool hard point #3 holds the laser rifle. The activity light on tool hard point #3 is on.
DatBerry Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 i don't know about examining, one of the points i use when security wants to arrest someone being caught by the AI is by saying that the cameras aren't very good (since they can't really examine), the AI uses the same cameras as security consoles and i don't think giving those examine abilities is a good idea.
LordBalkara Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Everything except for the AI examine has been added, I think.
