driecg36 Posted January 13, 2018 Author Posted January 13, 2018 Self bump since I just remembered this 3 months later and I still really want it to be a thing.
drakuba Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 +1 I cant belive this is not being implemented long time ago. Not a single dissaproval and all positive feedback. It sounds awesome as well. #LongLiveTrueSecret
BurgerBB Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 Mixed Secret is something that is good for MRP, not HRP. While there is more variety in mixed secret, I don't think antagonists would be able to keep up some actual roleplay when there is a wizard fucking about on one side of the station and mercs fucking up the other.
drakuba Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 But this would make some rounds realy interesting, especialy that RNG element to it. I think decent antagonist will use the confusion to his advantage and blend in the chaos. Just beacuse you saw ninja, does not mean you are save from ling, or that surgeon is vampire. Beside, this does not mean we will play this mode only. Its just, regular modes have been there for a while, and his could spice the game alot
Asheram Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 +1 Found this after the bump and I absolutely love it. Why nothing has been done about this yet is beyond my comprehension.
Bauser Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 So... theoretically, this would mean that 1 out of every 6 rounds would be extended, on average. How does that compare to the current rate of incidence for extended rounds? In other words, if this were implemented, should people expect extended to occur more often, or less?
Asheram Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 So... theoretically, this would mean that 1 out of every 6 rounds would be extended, on average. How does that compare to the current rate of incidence for extended rounds? In other words, if this were implemented, should people expect extended to occur more often, or less? I believe that it's a game mode to be voted for. I'm afraid I don't know the statistics of Extended ending up on secret, but I believe that if we run them side by side then we might see more extended overall than currently.
Itanimulli Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Finally someone put it into wiring (I'm l8, don't beat me). Does this give the chance for duplicate antags? Like more than one of the same antag? So we can get some shmexy wiz-v wiz sometimes?
Bauser Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 I imagine it would have to allow for duplicate antagonists, otherwise it would never be able to recreate the occurrence of a traditional traitor round (e.g. 3-5 traitors) Come to think of it, I am a little disappointed by how comparatively rare that would become (having multiple antagonists of a single type). Wizards and ninjas and vampires rarely can duplicate the intrigue of a plain traitor round.
driecg36 Posted May 4, 2018 Author Posted May 4, 2018 I forgot about this, huh. The rolls would be for the gamemodes to be added, not for individual antags to be added (though we can allow duplicate modes if we want to.) So therefore every traitor roll would add about 3 traitors. I personally don't think it shoud duplicate because we could end up with 15 traitors or something ridiculous like that, but the numbers can be tweaked. We can also very easily "weigh" the probabilities and make it less likely to get a zero the higher pop we have, but that is some stats stuff that is a bit beyond me.
driecg36 Posted November 19, 2018 Author Posted November 19, 2018 Could we please get a dev to look at this? I still want this suggestion to be implemented yet not a single dev has bothered commenting on in the year it's been posted. There is obviously popular support for it, and I think it's just as relevant as when I made it originally.
Itanimulli Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Rebumping because I really want this to happen.
