Not a loredev, but as I understand it was intentionally left vague.

The derelict on this map very strongly resembles the original Aurora, but I think lore held off on claiming it was the actual wreck and chose to leave it as an easter egg.

The actual news article said that Nanotrasen had planned to just leave it to be derelict.

Which is odd when you could sell a station like that and someone would want it.
