The Nanotrasen Heist was an Inside Job (or a desire for Heist + Traitor)

Have you, fellow Aurora-Player, ever sat there in your brightly lit department, heard the distant cries of people being kidnapped on the radio, security rushing by, shotguns ready to headgib, and strange Russian men and Vox demanding money for some assistant, and thought 'I wish I could help."? Well do I have a suggestion for you! Post now for your chance to get a One of a Kind(Note: not actually one of a kind) HEIST+TRAITOR GAMEMODE. At long last you can help an outside force properly kidnap that one asshole in medical who you think always messes up the first few injections on purpose to be whisked away into the hands of space pirates, ready for Nanotrasen shekels in return for their totally-not-dead body, or steal phoron(shit's expensive, yo) . Or, you can say you are helping those filthy Vox, and then double cross them if say, the Captain was willing to part with enough cash, but then most employees would be heightened to your deception of one crew, why should they trust you in their own?

So yeah.. I think it sounds like a great idea.

I'd say, maybe give the heisters a report from syndicentral, saying "There may be a infiltrated agent inside the x department", something along those lines, but dont let the tator tot know about the heisters. Give both heisters and tators secret words so they can identify themselves if they need to, but

dont give them syndi headset keys unless they buy it with TC,, as it would just be joining heisters+tators as a single entity, when they should be technically separate antags.

Traitors have the option to buy a key if they want. Otherwise "communication" shouldn't be any further encouraged, it's entirely the antags choice if they do or don't cooperate with the other antags

It should be encouraged, because otherwise it'll just be "unga Bunga traitor and heisters with no collaboration"

Instead of a sleeper agent assisting in a heist with the limited tools at their disposal.

.. isn't that kind of the reason AOOC exists though? At least at round start, to choose a gimmick that everyone agrees on?

Unless you call this heist+tator something else and make it completely different mode from just putting tators + heist as a mixed mode.

mixed = 2 different antags in a round

what you want = entirely different antag mode in which heisters and tators work together as a single antag entity

tators and heisters might not have the same objective in a mixed mode and just help each other, whereas as a single antag entity, they would have a common goal.

EDIT: What I mean is, if it is supposed to be a mixed secret mode, the "sleeper agent" thing would be a GIMMICK planned by both antags.

I still regard AOOC as a mistake, it only leads to shitty, stale gimmicks instead of people actually doing anything.

Gimmicks are shit, and the whole point of the suggestion as a sleeper agent gamemode, which would actually be great.

It's a shame so many good possibilities for mixed gamemodes go to waste due to nobody accepting that they should generally go along with the theme of the antag, but I digress. adding another shit blender of two separate game-modes would be easy enough to do in five minutes. though I'm still of the opinion that separate mixed game-modes should be fine tuned to farther support the theme they should be giving off instead of "xd throw 2 different gamemodes together at once"

I would +1 for a specific mode of sleeper agent, AND also a mixed heist+tator. I think there are merits for both the tator and the heisters working as one, as well as two antags being independent and MAYBE chosing to work together, but for their own self interests.
