LordBalkara
Add ambrosia seeds with a gene to allow them to grow on the floor to the traitor uplink, so if someone decides to set up a drug operation as their antag gimmick, they can do so. The reason I want the ambrosia to be able to grow on the floor is so that, even if someone's in a role where they can't access hydro, and they're too worried about sec busting them in the public garden, they can plant them in a back room somewhere instead. The bit about drugs being in load out has been removed. Edited January 28, 2018 by Guest Link to comment
Kaed
On the one hand, some of this sounds decent on the surface. On the other, 'lol drugs' as a gimmick is often done terribly, and generally is not worth the trouble even if you have half a brain and can figure how to do it in an interesting way. Most people will just snitch on you immediately to security once they hear about your drug dealing. Few people are interested in playing druggies, too. Link to comment
Azande
I believe crew go through a security scan/search before boarding and after boarding to ensure the facility's security. I don't like the drug gimmicks, they're poorly done and executed. No thanks. Link to comment
Kaed
I think the problem is the medium, really. This game takes place in what amounts to a professional workplace, with security guards present. People are there to do their jobs, not relax and get high. You do not go to work to sell drugs, you go to a shadier place where there is no authority figures present to make illicit deals. It's just not the right place to be considering drug dealing as a viable practice. Link to comment

You're boarding a high-security remote Research Station, after going through 1-2 Security searches onboard the Odin through Internal Security, after passing Biesel Security to board a shuttle to go to the Odin, and then to the Aurora (Unless you live on the Odin, but if that's the case, how are you getting your drugs?) Disclaimer, not that we've covered this. But basing purely off of IRL security standards, it's highly unlikely that people could easily-enough smuggle narcotics onto the station enough for them to be applicable for a Loadout option, along with the obvious issues this would present for a community claiming to base in HighRP. Zundy
Yeah I'm not for bringing on illegal drugs as loadout options. But why not start a drug trade with your character and another? Botanist & Chemist is the dream team, or just one scientist is enough. You'd be suprised on how many druggies there actually are on station. Link to comment
LordBalkara
Okay, a lot of good suggestions about the non-antag half of this. What about the antag part? Link to comment
Scheveningen
uhhh then this entire thread should've been redrafted to suit that niche, then? "add drugs to traitor uplink" or something sounds like a completely different discussion from "give people the opportunity to bring kilos of weed to work" Link to comment
tbear13
I'm really against drugs that aren't mechanically useful being a part of the traitor uplink. Some dude selling screen colorizing stuff isn't an engaging, or interesting, gimmick. If it injects tricord or something, instead of colorizing your screen, sure, but that's a bit different.
