Something Jazzy

Jukebox is a cool feature and being relatively uncommon to see it retains its freshness for quiet some time. However a playlist of 12(?) records is a little bit underwhelming and it gets repetative pretty fast.

It would be great if the jukebox could play custom records (maybe made available via disks sold by the merchant?)

Or at least had a somewhat expanded playlist (i would personally like something jazzy, feel free to post your suggestions)

all would make for more immersive in-game music experience

It would be but griefing is punishable and can be dealt with by admins and jukeboxes are relatively rare. Moreover Aurora doesn't have a whole lot of griefing going on as is so it should be fine (?)

I disagree. It would be an unnecessary pain to deal with that, I think. It could get very messy very quickly.

I do, however, agree with expanding the selection available, if that's even possible and not a tremendous hassle.

If the only (or one of the few) machine that can make disks would be in the merchant's posession, coming to play only if someone would buy it off of him that would actually be pretty easy to control. A merchant that makes disks with cancerous music recieves a job ban, problem solved. (totally not stolen from lifeweb)

I agree with Junko Enoshima and Mukuro Iksuba. It will be terrifying or ear-straining to hear someone playing Lavender's Town of the blue when you didn't expect it. On the other hand, I would also like to see more viable music selections available for most of us to accept. I can give Cantina Band as a good example to add in.

Misinformed comment about Lavender Town notwithstanding, as that's a hoax and a complete misunderstanding of the deal was about that;

Yeah, you don't want people uploading the Loud Nigra Rainbow Ride Magic Missile BEES Remastered .ogg for everyone to hear. It doesn't befit a roleplay server, it's too silly/griefy.

There are also concerns about copyright usage and uploading songs with such. If the jukebox is to be added any songs whatsoever, they need to be royalty-free kinds of Jazzy, and only the people with access to the box or something can edit whatever ogg the jukebox is playing. For example, anything by Kevin MacLeod counts, as he's composed over 2000 tracks of royalty-free music.

On the other hand, imagine that delicious despair.

Yeah, that's the other issue. Even if they're not specifically intended to grief, I can see a lot of songs being played that are just obnoxious or too silly, or not fitting at all.

Another great point.

I know a few members do digital music. I wonder if they might be interested in cooking up some tunes for the jukebox? I know I would certainly give it a shot.

I would love to play custom songs in the jukebox.

If there was a way to stream music directly from a youtube link, that would be /perfect/. No hosting issues, no "copyright" issues. No upload mess.

Just get near the juke, insert a valid link, and press play.

Any "shitter" antics can be dealt in a OOC fashion with the smite of modmin gods, since it would be a OOC issue to play meme songs or whatever, not IC.

I would absolutely LOVE to be able to listen to music while I work.

ON A SIDE NOTE: A volume slider in the jukebox PLEASE!!!! So I can play songs without drowning out other sounds, adjusting it accordingly!
