I once got a CCIA warning against my captain for lowering the station's thermostats to 13 degrees celsius during a canon Tajaran-event where we had a large group of Taj refugees on board. I wanted the station to be cooler to make them comfortable and we even offered out free jackets at cargo to crew that found it too chilly (although it does not make you cold at 13c) CCIA promptly overrided my command and then issued a formal warning to me, and told me off. CCIA should be disabled during events.

So, basically - we have Station Directive 11: This Directive is rarely followed, especially not to a tee, rarely are departments given instructions on what they can do to help, and even less so are explanations given on what steps have been taken so far. My proposal seeks to make directive 11 briefings more common. When changing the alert level via a command console - immediately after using the button to raise the alert, a prompt with an announcement screen will come up stating 'Please attach your Directive 11 Briefing', after you enter your briefing and press OK on this screen, it will change the alert and also attach an announce with a bolded title of 'Directive 11 Announcement' or 'Code [X] Announcement'. If you choose to ignore the prompt and leave an empty screen, it will just raise the alert and no announcement will appear - still allowing heads to not make them if they need more time, but encouraging them heavily to announce at the point of alert raising.

Could possibly add a rarer random event 'hostile slimeling infestation', similar to Bay's maintenance drone revolution random event, where the slimelings spawn hostile and nibble on people and creatures in the area. But that's for another suggestion and another day!
-
So, a long time ago in a galaxy rather close to home, this story was posted: I think it'd be super cool if we added slimelings! The idea would be that they're about palm-sized creatures, very similar to slimes - and coming in a variety of colours. They would blob up and down like normal slimes do, and occasionally make gelatinous sounds. These would be available in the loadout for X amount of points, and also appear occasionally on station as an infestation event like mice and lizards. Furthering the idea, we could also add a new vending machine that sells these pets in water-activated orbs (like monkey cubes, but 'Slimeling Spheres') and also sells various food type powders you can pour on your slimeling to give it nutrition. So what would be needed?: 0. SPRITES. This is probably the hardest thing to achieve, but I'm hoping I can convince @kyres1 or @AmoryBlaine to do them - if I can't, but this suggestion is liked and accepted, I am more than happy to put out some money to commission sprites from a spriter somewhere on SS13. 1. Slimeling behaviour code. I'm of a mind to just say use mouse code for them with minor alterations for sounds and such. 2. Add slimelings to the random infestation events. - Everything below is part of the extended idea, not necessarily part of the core suggestion - 3. Vending machines for slimelings and various slimeling foods or toys. 4. Slimelings food and toys. Maybe a food that makes them change colour? Alters personality? I think this would be a really neat way to incorporate some once-mentioned lore into the game, and they'd be cute lore-appropriate creatures to have around.

I like this idea +1 would go along way for enforcing CCIA actions.

BYOND Key: XanderDoxen Discord Key: XanderDox#2835 Total Ban Length: Permanent Discord Ban Banning staff member's Key: Garnascus Reason of Ban: I had four warnings on record, although I only know what two are regarding. One was regarding complaining about developers excessively, and unfairly - it was applied by Skull132. The second I can remember, and the reason I got banned, was fighting with Delta/Schev in the discord and being overly rude (specifically, namecalling). I've been banned for a year or more now, and I understand that how I went about my arguing with Schev was distasteful and rude, but I'd like to rejoin the discord community.

I don't know whether this is feasible due to possible BYOND limitations, however it would be very nice if the ticket system supported new rounds. What I mean by this is that when staff are handling a ticket at the end of the round, the round has to be delayed to handle the ticket because (and this is conjecture, as I don't actually know as I am not staff), round restarts cause active tickets to vanish - which is why the server auto-delays if a ticket is open. If the system could be modified so that open tickets transfer into the next round, it would mean we don't have to delay new rounds for sometimes 10-15 minutes while staff investigate issues - something that causes a lot of boredom for players, and has a noticeable affect on server population (people get bored and leave before the next round comes).

Remove the Ability to Delay Shuttle Launches

This is a good enough solution. Any staff member can archive this now. -
This is fair, I suppose.

Remove the Ability to Delay Shuttle Launches
Azande replied to Azande's topic in Discontinued Projects
I appreciate your replies. However, there is no actual good reason to delay the shuttle - it just delays the next more enjoyable round from coming, when players have already been given thirteen minutes to make a five minute journey at maximum, from any part of the station (asteroid and other EVA locations exempt). -
BTW IDK who told anyone that ECT is a barbaric outdated practice, but it's actually still used today, quite often, safely and humanely, to treat mental illness like depression. Especially treatment-resistant illnesses. It is not painful, it is not torturous, and it is a modern medical procedure now. It would make MUCH more sense to use compared to our weird phoron crystal machine.

As per @Garnascus, delaying the Escape/Transfer shuttle is not allowed under any circumstances, and @Alberyk has said in some situations it is legit - but it should not be held for long. Frankly, there is no reason to have the ability to hold a transfer or emergency shuttle. Transfers outside of emergencies happen every two hours and there is no reason to delay an entire shuttle for one employee taking their time, and in emergencies, the shuttle is meant to be docking and departing urgently, crew have TEN MINUTES to move to departures before the shuttle arrives, and another three before it takes off. TL;DR, we have enough time to reach the shuttle, we don't need the ability to hold the shuttle's departure, and I am tired of people yelling at Heads of Staff in game to hold the shuttle while some staff yell at Heads of Staff for holding it.

Modded Minecraft Server: Batharstagoosh (Minethrottled)
Azande replied to Azande's topic in Other Games
UPDATE: We will probably be using the All the Mods: All the Magic modpack for this now. -
By Order of His Majesty, King Urist McTorald of The Wandering Helms, a great expedition shall set forth in order to establish a new fortress and town for the Kingdom - and this great fortress shall be known as Batharstagoosh (Minethrottled). STRIKE THE EARTH! What is this? A Dwarf Fortress inspired modded Minecraft roleplaying adventure/simulation so-to-speak. The group, the Dwarfs of Minthrottled, must work together to build a sprawling underground fortress and harvest Minecraftia of its valuable resources. We will be using the All the Magic Modpack from the Twitch App. Why All the Mods: All the Magic? After considering vanilla, I've decided that mods are just more fun and immersive and provide far more better game play opportunities. All the Magic has a lot of interesting resource, magic, item and creature mods while not invading the server with high tech or industry things that would other break the dwarf fortress atmosphere. What makes Minethrottled Different? Nobility The Fortress of Minethrottled, being based on Dwarf Fortress, will be supervised by a group of nobles. At the onset of the Fortress - this group will be led by the Expedition Overseer, appointed by the far off King. However, once the dwarfs of Minethrottled get their bearings, they will begin electing a Mayor every three days. The Mayor will be in charge of directing and managing the goals of the Fortress for their three day term - this means initiating buildings, projects and other assorted fun. The Mayor will also be able to appoint various other nobles to help them accomplish their task: Manager - Responsible for overseeing crafting and maintaining the Fortress' stockpiles. Bookkeeper - Manages the Fortress economy, collects taxes and pays dwarfs at the direction of the Mayor. Sheriff - Enforces the Mayor's laws and imprisons pesky dwarfs. Militia Commander - Leads the Militia, if one is established. Handles training, mission organization, etc. The Nobles will also be able to contact the capital, and request certain supplies in the form of trade caravans. Religion The dwarfs have two pantheons of Gods and Goddesses they can worship, the High and Low. The High Pantheon are the chief Gods and believed to be the creators of the world and dwarf kind, the Low Pantheon are not believed to have partaken in the creation of the world, but represent important or fundamental aspects of it. As the Fortress develops, Dwarfs will have to decide what Gods and Goddesses are worth building temples and shrines to - and reaping the rewards of such decisions. High Pantheon Resen, Goddess of Minerals Rab, Goddess of Fire and Metals Doren Dakas, the Diamonds of Coloring , Goddess of Wealth and Jewels Doren Letmosid Korzanor, the Cavernous Heart , Goddess of Caverns and Mountains Low Pantheon Zasgim, God of Pregnancy and Fertility Alil Ki rar Tustem, the Right of Courtesy , Goddess of Charity and Generosity Sedilösir, Angel of the Morality of Courtesies , Goddess of Consolation Otiktagüz, God of Music, Dance and Revelry Noglesh, Goddess of Victory, War and Fortresses Imust , God of Deformity and Disease How to Join Right now as we accumulate interested players, the server isn't able to be joined. I suspect after we find a few interested people, we'll find a good day to all start the adventure together. However, we have a discord! In the discord! Here's the link: https://discord.gg/Wx3RNgU

:WARNING: Highly Augmented Tajara Experiment Gone WRONG
Azande replied to Aphelion's topic in Off Topic Discussion
@Mofo1995 please make this canon. -
Furthermore, we have a console in the bridge and RD Office that faciliates the instant destruction of any cyborg anywhere on board if they aren't properly malf or subverted. This reinforces ICly the sense that it's okay to just attack and destroy broken cyborgs. Perhaps these consoles need to be changed/removed if we act on this thread.
-
You are missing critical information, I was the person that attacked the cyborg and had security also do so. I was bwoinked over it by Alberyk, after which he wordlessly closed my ticket after reading my response - I was not given a warning or any indication I was noted. We were tipped off by a second cyborg, that the OP's cyborg had blown up telecommunciations with welder fuel tanks, we checked the cameras and determined this to be true as we caught them damaging solars and not fixing any of the damages in telecoms. We then caught the same cyborg on camera in science, and conveniently at that time robotics had been filled with fuel and a fuel tank was sitting in the middle. It was highly suspect. OP's cyborg had been ratted out by a Co-Traitor Cyborg, 'MOIS', which led to us catching it. The reason it was jumped on was to stop it from distracting us and then possibly setting robotics ablaze. EDIT: ICly, you were told during your beating that we caught you on cameras and that we knew you had blown up telecommunications and had fueled up robotics. Immediately after this incident, we checked on MOIS camera and caught him destroying the vault - we had no reason to recover you from the hall, or repair you - as we in security cannot possibly hope to know how to resync you to the proper lawset. Then the bridge was attacked by other traitors and the Captain was kidnapped and you stopped being a priority for us.

Engineering militia has only recently died. Please don't bring it back by giving them what amounts to ghetto weapons at round start.

Katerina Danilovna's Custom Necropolis Stuff
Azande replied to TheSleepyCatmom's topic in Denied Apps
The reason no other Necropolis contractors would have this gear is because they're either lazy or not talented enough spriters to make themselves the clothing. Applications should not be judged based on the LACK of other's ability to provide themselves with further roleplay opportunities. -

+1. DasFox is a notoriously capable and confident roleplayer and a skilled spriter. Give this to her character. -
[Denied] Command Whitelist APP - TheOrleans
Azande replied to TheOrleans's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
The issue is that the other characters are played rarely, so the applicant has shown barely any ability to make a character that DOES adhere to regs and expectations for their position. I want to see if they are capable of that first, and Nick isn't ASSHOLELY, he's outright incompetent - literally trying to get a girlfriend while the station is being bombed and ignoring calls to come to the armoury... For a booty call. I just want to be able to see you actually play the other characters and see what they are like. -

All rounds are canon. Only the actions related directly to antagonists is not, to be clear. -
[Denied] Command Whitelist APP - TheOrleans
Azande replied to TheOrleans's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Nick is terribly behaved, and would never become a Head of Security. Pirates were actively attacking the Aurora and Nick... Stayed in the bar, refusing to gear up at the armoury so he could hit on the bartender. He also has a bunch of infractions on record, including failure to execute an order and fighting command staff. I will support your application when I meet a character of yours that IS capable of following regulations and enforcing them properly, as I have not met your other characters and Nick just... Aint it. -1. -
This is for shrapnel, which you sometimes get from bullets - or at least I thought you did. I'm working under the assumption that sometimes when doing surgery, you don't always extract a full bullet. If you do always extract a full bullet, this can be ignored and we can pretend it eeeever happened.
