  1. EVA has a 'Mining Suit Cycler' where the Oxygen is kept. Don't think Miners actually have access to it, but that's beside the point.
  2. Using suit cyclers allows you to resprite any suit to that of a specific department, whilst retaining it's original stats and abilities. A Security Hardsuit can be refitted for Medical Usage, but it will still be armoured and can hold weapons. Whereas an Engineering hardsuit refitted for Mining retains it's radiation protection.
  3. If that's the case, then I love this idea (Thread) and the next two!
  4. Would this also mean, perhaps, more synthetic/mechanical organs as well? Something for Robotics to make when Genetics isn't around, and more fun settings to toggle around in Character Creation. Could be part of a little overhaul of organ replacement/surgery/what have you.
  5. Sounds neat, but at the same time /really annoying/, unless there's a way to mute the thing clientside. (Which I'd bet would be even more annoying than implementing a jukebox in the first place [Though one could just implement being able to break the thing by smacking it, and have it unrepairable, t'would be a very crude way to implement a 'mute'])
  6. The issue isn't the Detective getting a lethal sidearm, it's that he's the only person in the Department (Other than the HoS) packing a lethal firearm and this places a greater level of responsibility on him in how to use it. I'd honestly rather just turn this situation around and let the Detective keep his Revolver, whilst giving Security Officers themselves another tool in their arsenal for high-intensity situations. Think of it this way; You're one among several Security Guards being paid by NanoTrasen to guard an extremely valuable asset of theirs, a Research Station. You're given a set of tools to defend the property and keep order. Yet none of your standard tools are actually worth a damn for defending the Station against anything bigger than a donut thief, and noone actually pays any respect to your arsenal. Why don't we both lower the stigma surrounding the Detective, whilst at the same time upping Security with a standardized sidearm that's both intimidating to would-be deviants, and allows an Officer caught off-guard to realistically defend themself from an armed assailant? Once Security is beyond the initial 'Learning/Experimental Phase' of acquiring a new tool (Which would hopefully weed out the 'Good Officers' from the 'Abusive Officers'), over time you'll have it settling down into it's own place. With Security hopefully learning a thing or two about proper escalation of force, and why it's a bad idea to engage a Revolver/SMG/E-Sword armed assailant with non-lethal weaponry meant for dealing with small-time vandals and Rioters. A win for realism, roleplay, and a potentially good lesson in responsibility for Security and the Detective to further themselves from.
  7. Not too robust considering the weapon's sheer power, but still the perfectly timed shot.
  8. Starting them out with drills would give them less incentive for upgrades, considering it's already a fairly decent upgrade over the standard pickaxes. Unless the drills were nerfed to current pickaxe levels of usefulness, this really wouldn't be too fair. That /was/ the inspiration, if you pay attention to the Asteroid's background music.
  9. A good Roleplayer with some real dedication to his creations (And his prose), combined with an interesting character that always makes for good conversation and ingame experiences. If there was anyone deserving of the whitelist for this species, it would be them. +1
  10. Last round I played - yesterday - I put my recorder and folder in my coat and it ate both of them, then got the slots stuck on the screen. If you click the coat again, it should show you the contents. It only appears glitched.
  11. For reference, this can be done already. Just do typical organ surgery and utilize NanoPaste instead of an Advanced Trauma Kit. I believe a screwdriver functions as a ghetto nanopaste in this case but I may be mistaken.
  12. Not enough people realize hand to hand combat is an extremely effective method of self-defence in this game. Detectives (And Security in general) don't seem to utilize it to the full extent the game provides (Grappling maneuvres, how to use the new disarm system, etc) and just go straight for the gun.
  13. ~@RnRCarver~ Whilst enjoying my Holiday off, I started digging through my family's old (And by old, I mean these date back to when they were on Earth!) data-drives and found one full of text adventures. They seem pretty dated (Unsurprisingly), considering the number of science fiction ones that consider Intergalactic Travel and Laser Weaponry to be 'futuristic', and the 'modern' ones talking about Europe and Asia (The Earth continents, not the bands that made those old songs I found on some of the other drives). Atleast I have something to do when the missus is cleaning up around the place! #MerryChristmas Robert Carver
  14. Make 'em 1-cost so they can be combo'd with nice gloves and dress shoes, for ultimate class.
  15. I love it. Practical enough to be a uniform, yet formal enough to be stylish at the same time.
  16. I.. I... Huh? Okay... Time to buy that Future expansion.
  17. This is what is called a balancing factor for a species that effectively shrugs off pain-crit, you take increased damage so you aren't the king of robust. (Though you shouldn't have any crit whatsoever, you shouldn't even die unless someone takes off your head, really)
  18. Love the IDs. Not a fan of the gaudy and flat PDAs, the bright blue NT background is harder on the eyes than the current, very plain olive/blueish backgrounds, unless there happens to be some sort of option to swap to a version of that Syndie background, sans the prohibition symbol.
  19. Great roleplayer, good Head of Security/Sec player as a whole, and general all-around decent dude who adapts well to the roles given to him. Has never disappointed except in Payday 2+1
  20. A simpler way of explaining it is exactly as it states when you select it; "Choose your relation to NT. Note that this represents what others can find out about your character by researching your background, not what your character actually thinks." What I've gathered from my studies (+Flavour): Loyal : -- to be on the Status Summary, -- to be a "Possible collaborator" in traitor notes. NT views you as a valued asset, The Syndicate views you as a risk Supportive : - to be on the Status Summary, - to be a "Possible collaborator" in traitor notes. NT sees you as a trustworthy employee, The Syndicate is wary about you Neutral : +/- to be on the Status Summary, +/- to be a "Possible collaborator" in traitor notes. NT neither suspects nor trusts you, The Syndicate is curious about you Skeptical : + to be on the Status Summary, + to be a "Possible collaborator" in traitor notes. NT is suspicious of you, The Syndicate views you as a potential resource Opposed : ++ to be on the Status Summary, ++ to be a "Possible collaborator" in traitor notes. NT views you as a risk, The Syndicate views you as a possible ally Being on the status summary may increase the number of telecrystals given to a traitor by 4. Being a "possible collaborator" opens up the (Rare) potential RP of a traitor turning to you for assistance in their schemes. Rank does not influence any of this, a Head of Security is as likely to be on the summary/be a potential collaborator as a Janitor. It's a risk vs reward system of being seen by NT as a far less suspect NT Employee, or a vastly more suspicious yet possibly more dangerous sleeper agent. It's entirely up to the player whether or not it factors into their direct roleplay. (Being an ex-member of an infamous worker's union vs being a fresh-out-of-college blue-blooded worker; Both might factor into your character's current mindset, or both might just be a part of the past for them) -- tl;dr: No, being Loyal vs Opposed has nothing to do with implants, nor being selected as a traitor, nor need it affect your direct RP.
  21. ~@RnRCarver~ Someone talked with me last shift and it wasn't for work reasons. I think my coffee is making me hallucinate. Must be because of the Chemist I saw near the food and beverage fountain earlier. #DontTrustDoctors Robert Carver
  22. An inherent issue with the mode, is it will never start unless you have both a Captain and another Head readied up, with the other head readied for Mutineer as well. Meaning you will likely never see this mode more than once a day on high-pop, perhaps even only once or twice a week. Keep in mind you need to factor in both voting for the mode, and atleast two whitelisted heads readying up for the correct positions at round-start. Once you get past the giant wall of starting the mode, it tends to work relatively well assuming you don't get one side stacked over the other. (Which is often the case when you get the various "Fuck Aliens/Women/Men in particular" directives.)
  23. As long as this 'kiss verb' isn't instant (And can be resisted) so I can't just have a traitor run up and smooch me in a fight, shouldn't be able to go through breath masks/gas masks/riot helmets/hardsuits/etc as well. If it works with a verb, might as well make it a little more innocent with a non-lethal version of the verb for for ERPers lovebirds, so it's harder to meta it.
  24. If you inject yourself with 'random enzymes' as a Geneticist, you're liable to go blind/deaf and get seizures. This is already a thing.
