See you say people complained because they have a 'personal agenda' against you. Did it occur to you that their 'personal agenda' is the thing they're complaining about? It's not that they have a problem with you personally and are making complaints because of it. It's the things you do, that lead to complaints, which are the reason why I (and most likely also the others who have taken part in complaints about you) don't like you. Your cause and effect are backwards. People aren't finding problems with what you do because they dislike you. They dislike you because of what you do. Bye.

Silly is a clown. Clowns exist. Clowns can exist. Clowns are not nonsense. We have a damn bar on our station, they sure make more sense than that. Hell, I've done silly. myself. One of my routine Cyborg/AI Personalities is a party bot named Jervis who plays Twenty Questions with the crew. Silly, not implausible. The syndicate holding a recruiting drive is silly, not implausible. A guy laughing as he slowly dies, in probably the worst pain he's ever experienced in his life? That's not silly. That's stupid. And even then that would slide if it wasn't for the whole package of the character.

That's a pretty real risk for Fritz, actually But he's not a bad writer or RPer. I imagine having a character who is less likely to be romantically inclined will be a good change of pace for him. Also, more skrell is a very good thing.

It's not JUST memes or JUST being a stupid character that makes no sense and is incompetent or JUST completely ignoring any semblance of realistic pain RP. "MY LUNG IS RUPTURED HAHA THIS IS FUNNY". It is the total package. You keep changing it to "I only said dank once! I only said runescape once! I only mentioned Call of Duty once!" You 'only did' a lot of specific things a limited number of times. But in total, you did almost no roleplaying as an even sort of reasonable character and contributed very little to the round in general. The point of an antag is to create good RP and the crew did the best they could, but the whole round being an awful waste of time really fell squarely on you and Hackie's shoulders.

You can try to oversimplify it to the 'mention of a single video game' but there was a lot more bad RP from you in that round than that. "Hello Dank ops!" "We have the dankest lawyers" "We are terrorists haha" "I'm dying haha". It was all on a level that, if anyone else had done it, I don't think most people would've tolerated it at all. Again it's not about 'silly characters'. Lets not get that terrible strawman going, again. As skull put it You are actively making the server worse with this behavior.

Changed my +1 to a -1 here. I didn't really expect to have to do this, a couple of days ago. If you'd told me a member of the lore team was going to be playing a character named 'halo' talking about Runescape and Call of Duty in-character, and laughing as they choke up blood from a ruptured lung, and encouraging similar behavior from others. I wouldn't go as far as calling Frances a troll and I don't think she's a bad person or anything like that because of our disagreements but... honestly I don't know what's bringing this all on, I just know, someone who thinks that is acceptable roleplay really needs to be far away from the server staff as possible.

The problem is the Daquiri recipe overrides Bahama Mama, so Bahama Mama is impossible to make. Edit: Well I'm just dumb and wrong.

That wasn't about Halo. I don't even know or remember if Halo was in that round.. That was about literally half a dozen people spouting memes and internet terms in-character. About a dozen uses of the word 'weeaboo' and 'weeb'. And it wasn't just me that OOC got muted for, there were plenty of people being super insulting right back at me, far more than I was. I'm putting energy into this because I don't want to see this server completely ruined by the RP flying out the window and I'm not the only one who feels this way. Metagrudging implies IC action based on OOC biases. Not the case. As for logging? No. I watch nuke rounds because they're usually shitty clusterfucks, where ahelps are needed. But this one was particularly obviously gonna end badly. I spoke unclearly. It happens sometimes.

I said I have the full log about half a dozen times. This is the only time I've recorded a log of the round, to be clear. But I get the feeling it's gonna be necessary more in the future.

I'll gladly give Skull the full log (though I'm sure he can access it himself) if he wants it to judge the round entirely.

Thank you Skull for summing up what I've been struggling to make clear every time this subject comes up. The problem is not "WE HATE HUMOR" or "NO SILLINESS ALLOWED". It's that. And it's getting more and more widespread. I'm seeing jewish stereotype characters of varying extremes almost every round. I'm seeing people using memes IC every round. I'm sitting in a round right now where the word 'weeaboo' is being used at least once every five minutes. In character.

Maybe as something different from a posibrain. Posibrains are SUPER valuable for R&D to deconstruct, and making them an unlimited resource would skew science pretty hard. Maybe as a brain in an MMI from a storage fridge, similar to how cryogenic revival works?

I don't think there's a lot more to say, despite the flailing, desperate defenses. If any staff want, I can give them the log of, just about the full round (I stopped around when all the ops were SSD or captured). But I don't think anything more needs to be said, it's pretty clear what's happening here.

Here's some more highlights So he gave his gear AND bank information to this guy. Boy this is some high quality RP that involves absolutely no metabuddying. "I HAVE AIDS HAHA" Also at no point does Issac deny knowing Goldstein.

And the fact that Solomon Goldstein was looking for his 'brother' when you played Shlomo Goldstein in the round previously is totally just coincidence too, right? RIGHT. Most believable story, I'm sorry, lets call the whole thing off, no way is this guy a blatant liar trying to get out of being caught completely red handed. Nope. Not what's going on here at all. Clearly it's coincidental that you went out of your way to meet someone (who at no point called you out by name before you responded), playing a similar character to a character you played in a previous round, with the same surname. You let him have all your gear, walked around naked, then you both agreed to join the syndicate (Self-Described pirates and terrorists, who kill people. All their own words, in this very round), after you were recruited into that organization by a person playing as a character named after you, copying your idiotic mannerisms. Yeah, must be a coincidence, what was I thinking, no collusion happening here.

Do you honestly expect people to believe that? It's just a coincidence the memelords stick together, always, in character, out of character, and on the forums? OH AND GUESS WHAT. I was logging the whole round. That includes PDA messages. That includes you and Solomon blatantly in collusion together, Halo. So welcome to being caught in a suuuuper obvious lie. Soo. Meme squad's forming into one unit, as usual, I see. I think we've all seen staff in different positions who behave much worse, routinely. Sierra's post was not very far over the line, and I honestly think your hangup here is personal spite, not a legitimate beef.

So we're still hiding behind the "We can only spout memes or be Shadow The Hedgehog, there's no middle ground?" thing? That's not how it works. You can be silly without blowing immersion away with an SMG. Nobody is saying all nuke rounds have to be a boring violent gankfest. Hell, If you did everything the same way, but without pretending to be Halo, this would've been a brilliant, fun round, I think. The problem was it ended up being ridiculous and clownish by almost everyone involved and not in a funny way (at least not intentionally, it was funny when security showed up and started trying to bring down a motionless, peaceful diona with tasers). Between the bribes accepted by security officers, the nuke ops being a pacifist, a clown, and a clown who went SSD, the round fell flat, directionless it just was awful. You don't need violence but it really doesn't work without any kind of endgame or RP or objective. This is an RP server, your job as an antagonist is to create interesting conflict RP. You don't have to murder people but you have to do SOMETHING. Recruiting is fine, but where does that go? Also Madpred you were a great straightman to the madness. I think you played perfectly. I missed that someone said you guys left equipment for him. To clarify, they didn't leave equipment for him. He woke back up and someone CAME BACK and gave him a spacesuit, then fucked up because three stooges nuke ops, and got him accidentally spaced with no gear except oxygen and a hardsuit. Which is what led to him vandalizing the mining outpost when he could've just walked into the door.

I'd be okay with this... assuming that voting for clown marines results in the vote being discounted and the player who did so gibbing instantly. It'd make for more serious ops and less chucklefucks. See on one hand... I like the idea of clown marines. I just don't like the idea of it coming up often. Like once a week at most.

Crystal is a recovering alcoholic. She took psychiatric leave to get sober and work on her problems about a year ago. She is trying to stay away from drinking Item function(s): Similar to a coin, but can not be used in vending machines. Purely decorative, it would be a very small item that can be worn behind the ear, or perhaps as a bracelet or necklace on the Jumpsuit Accessory slot? Tishina wasn't around for a vast majority of the round, Jackboot. Josh was, and the round was so infuriating he announced he was quitting the server and the game. Honestly, Sierra, I think it might be worth posting the full log, even if nobody'll really read all of it. This kinda goes on, it was a bad round for a LOT of people. The problem wasn't Syndicate trying to recruit crew, on the contrary, I like that idea. They explicitly called themselves terrorists, and refered to themselves as The Syndicate. Also the meme spouting ridiculousness is the problem. "Dankest lawyers", talking about Runescape and Call of Duty. It's really really ridiculous. You guys (and I notice very much a clique of memey people forming) seem to think there's this black and white "YOU ARE EITHER HITLER OR YOU THINK MEME FESTIVALS AND RACIST CHARICATURES ARE FUNNY". No. That is not how it works. You can be funny without making no damn sense in the world or its lore. Silly is fine. Vomiting 400 year old memes is not. This is not goonstation. And seeing this behavior encouraged by loredevs is kind of disturbing.

I really think it's becoming more clear they're an outright troll, and they're only here to cause trouble. We just finished out a round where they created a character named "Shlomo Goldstein" that was the most ridiculous, intentionally offensive jewish stereotype straight out of a 4chan post. Why is this a thing that's happening here? Why are so many people okay with it? I don't understand. I almost think it's a coordinated effort to make the server worse, skirting rules and just generally being awful. It's really been on the rise lately. I don't know if some other big goon-like server shut down recently, or if someone is sending them here to troll, but it's getting ridiculous.

The problem is this directly contradicts the Identifying Antags article which is linked in our rules. We're sending some majorly mixed messages about what the story is, and I think it really needs to be a priority to clear that up. I prefer Changelings be unknown, I like it better that way. The identifying antagonist article says "Changelings are not unknown, though no research or data has ever been collected from them. The threat they pose is unknown. It is highly likely that only research members, specifically xenobiologists would know anything about them." . I think this is an okay idea too. I just think we need to pick one, make sure it's clearly written, and not expect people to flip a coin on which set of written rules to obey. I'm not a fan of xenos in this game at all. Aside from being a wholehearted ripoff, as gameplay goes, they're like space weeds and giant spiders had a baby. I think they're a bit too far to be a regular part of the game, except as an entirely separate gamemode, maybe.
