  1. Nobody else has responded to this, and I wasn't involved in the situation, but Valkrae has been a stand-up RPer any time I've played with him. He's not some random chucklefuck from goon, and he knows how to RP. Given the extreme leniency I see a lot of other people get, that maybe he was treated a bit heavyhandedly because he was viewed as a disposable new guy. But I feel like he's earned his stripes since then.
  2. ((To be clear on the rules here. Does one have to be an antag to assist an antag, through this system? IF for example, I had a dirty sec officer who agreed to use this system to slip some weapon someone's way, or a QM for contraband, or a chef that would agree to leave the freezer unlocked to give someone access to the gibber, but they weren't antags that round, would that be allowed?))
  3. Edit: Withdrawn +1, see my second reply
  4. ((Also, please Add a bounty for Nehma Ga'dan for falsifying a very high value bounty))

  6. Valk's a good guy. I've played with him a fair bit, he's quick to learn and he knows how to RP right. +1
  7. Really just being pedantic about trial vs tribunal because the exact wording isn't the important part the concept is. Even if the procedures are not the same, the goal and concept are. A fair hearing for someone accused of a crime. And nowhere in corporate regulations does it say Tribunals are just for capital crimes. It does say don't ask for a tribunal for a sentence under ten minutes, because it's a stupid waste of time. But no other limits are placed on it. And I appreciate the IC help you gave. You handled the situation as well as you could. My problem with the HoS is he knew what was happening and laughed off any IC complaints of protocol or mistreatment until he was confronted by you later. As for lack of knowledge, they did no investigation into it at all, which goes back to my call for a hearing. There were two eyewitnesses to the fight, though I can't remember who, specifically. And as for you Tishina, you did just fine, you were the specific officer I had in mind when I wrote. The main ones were Noels, Drengr, and Brar. I think one or two of the others were idly laughing about it and saying to put me in a strait jacket or something but since I can't honestly remember I wouldn't blame them. As for the coin with the wire... they said it was contraband. I don't think it really is. It's arguable, I guess, so that's a point I'd cede if an unbiased staff member were to come in and agree that it is. Also I think they took or lost my rainbow hat but I couldn't prove that it wasn't dropped when I went into cryo or at some other point, since my character was in and out of consciousness the whole time. Again, not super important, but it adds to the whole picture They absolutely did. As I was being initially dragged out of the medbay I told them that I wasn't finished being treated, couldn't see, and my face was still destroyed. They didn't care.
  8. I fell unconscious very quickly after I was taken into the medbay. I THINK I went into crit, but I'm not sure because of the pain system. But injured enough to have facial reconstruction, a skull fracture, and badly damaged vision. So it was really bad and they didn't stop attacking me until I was dragged away to the medbay.
  9. They absolutely never stopped attacking me, even when I was on the ground and near death. Intent to kill could not have been clearer. And trials/tribunals are indeed in the Space Law/Corporate Regulations. Unless this server uses a different set from baystation which should be made a bit more clear if it does because I haven't seen that written anywhere visible.,
  10. ((What's the procedure for taking them in alive? ALso I would like to volunteer Nehma Ga'dan to be put up as a live bounty, if possible, for his valuable research prospects ))
  11. BYOND Key: Letz Shake Player Byond Key: Not sure. Reason for complaint: So during the course of this round, Samantha Mason's speech impediment became a subject of public discussion, and some people ridiculed it or expressed doubt about its legitimacy including my character. This led to Cirno Y'orney assaulting my character in retaliation. I tried to walk away at first, but when they kept pursuing, I fought back, and after trying to walk away several more times and being attacked, I kept fighting until eventually we were separated by crew. Now because I was playing a bald assistant, and because I'd said something their character didn't like on a personal level, security chose to treat me differently than they probably would've treated anyone else. So they did quite a few things wrong during the course of the incident 1. I was not given proper medical treatment. My character's eyes and face were badly damaged due to the assault and were not treated before security hauled me off. 2. I was charged with assault for the self-defense. Rather than being charged with attempted murder for beating me nearly to death (broken skull, broken face, and they never stopped attacking) Cirno was also charged with assault. A 3. I was not given a chance to defend myself against the charges. Security made up their mind to arrest me for assault without hearing any witnesses (there were at least two) or giving me a chance to officially give my side of the story, nevermind an opportunity for a trial which is a right outlined in space law. My headset was taken away to keep me from contacting the head of security or an IAA , while Cirno's was not. 4. When finally able to talk to the head of security, he ignored corporate regulations/space law, saying there was no right to have a trials or tribunals granted, and literally said "space law isn't a thing". 5. When I adminhelped the issue, early on, I was brushed off by Tablespoon who said that security systematically abusing their power was a purely IC issue, which I disagree with, entirely. I think people abusing their jobs and doing them entirely wrong. 6. A number of things unrelated to my incident were taken from my possession and not returned. Security officers took my silver coin, insulated gloves (which I can excuse), and Drengr, out of spite, extinguished my cigar rather than putting it away. Again, minor, but it contributes to the overall picture of the poor play by security Not all of the security in the round was abusive. One allowed me to have my headset back. But Jakob Drengr, Imraj Brar and in particular head of security Alex Noels were abusive of their power and did a poor job of roleplaying security simply because the person they were dealing with was an assistant.
  12. All my experiences with Ghost have been 100% positive. Good guy, good RPer. +1
  13. I could take or leave the syndicate part. The important thing is the general dangerous atmosphere of that station, which was a hotbed of hazardous activity.
  14. Sycmost is a great RPer and this looks well written to me. +1
  15. BYOND key: Letz Shake Character names: Nehma Ga'dan, Crystal Brookes, Chef (Various Replacement First Names) Vortivask, C.H.E.F. How long have you been playing on Aurora?: A few months. I played on the very similar Alium Deathtrap server for much longer. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: There seems to rarely be any heads of staff on. I am pretty experienced in playing heads (mainly Research Director and Chief Medical Officer) on other servers, and I'm a good, careful roleplayer. Why did you come to Aurora?: I was looking for a serious roleplay server. I previously played a lot on Alium. I fell out of playing there, not really for any reason in particular. I rarely am online at times that it is active, but Aurora is active when I am. I find the staff of Aurora is a lot friendlier. Have you read the BS12 wiki on the head roles you plan on playing?: Habitually. All the time, for no reason in particular and also literally every time I play a closely related role. I'm a wiki addict. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: This is a hard question. For me, role play is about really immersing yourself in the setting and the character. Not just to play a game but also to make... basically a really unqiue dynamic creative writing environment. It can lead to humor, silliness, seriousness, action, suspense. Bringing out real emotions because you're invested in the game, in a way non-interactive storytelling can't, and sharing that experience with others. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Every department needs organization, OOC and IC. While they aren't the same as actual admins, heads of staff maintain discipline among the crew since it can cause problems, if lacking. Lack of IC order takes fun from the game for all involved, because it bleeds into IC and OOC frustration. Heads of staff are the in game 'rules' that come before staff interference. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: As I said in the above section, as a head of staff, it's your job to keep order among your department and the crew, and also to protect them in ways they don't normally have access to, themselves, such as calling the shuttle in an emergency, and extending access for the greater good of the station. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Nehma Ga'dan Character age: 50 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): As a young boy, Nehma was orphaned after a syndicate incident that led to the death of his birth parents, whose identities have been lost to time. He was adopted by a Tajaran family, his father a Tajaran miner who later climbed his way to Research Director in the White Nebula system station, colloquially known as the "Alium Deathtrap". Due to the large amount of life threatening events in the White system, Mishaal, the patriarch of the Ga'dan family, transferred to the Aurora's system. Though the elder Ga'dan has since retired, his son followed in his foot(paw)steps, first as a miner, then as a researching scientist. Unlike other scientists, who attempt to be multidisciplinary, Nehma prefers to keep to the R&D lab and robotics, and rarely ventures into telescience and xenoscience. Though he seeks to expand to these new departments. What do you like about this character?: Besides that I generally enjoy the Tajaran speech patterns and mannerisms, I like Nehma's almost single-minded devotion to science. He has social quirks that don't really come out as much since he is rarely approached, but he's fun to roleplay, even if he fades into the background. What do you dislike about this character?: Because of his somewhat awkward social natrure and dedication to his work, he often fades into the background and is ignored by the rest of the crew.. Also his unwillingness to study up Xenobio (ultimately, out of fear) and to a lesser extent, telescience can make rounds boring if research stalls or is completed. Do you think this character is fit to be a Head of Staff? (Please note that Head characters must be over 30, unless given special clearance): Yes. Why?: Nehma, with his intense love of science, strives to make his department the focus of everything he does. He is calm, and never reckless with the safety of anyone but himself, and tries to see everything as objectively as he can. He will stop at little personal risk for the advancement of science, and takes great pride in his work. Becoming a research director and having to learn the other parts of his department would be excellent character growth as well. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: TENOUTTATEN! Nah not really. I have weaknesses. I still have trouble not seeing SS13 as a game, even though I get very immersed in RP. It's sometimes easy to forget "this is a character, I am not just trying to reach a goal, THEY are trying to reach that goal". I manage to avoid powergaming, but sometimes the temptation to pack away a bag of guns as Science or a syringe of sedative as a chemist is hard to fight. I do feel, however, that I do a very good job staying relentlessly in character and being true to the characters I play. Many times, people don't realize that I'm on because my characters can have such radically different personalities from each other. Extra notes: I played for a long time on Alium Deathtrap which is not entirely dissimilar to this server. I was whitelisted there, as well, and to my recollection never got in trouble for in-character actions (I was banned once, for telling the admin Sniper Sarah that she sucks at events, but was unbanned later). I've been playing Space Station 13 for probably around 6 years now, and have been roleplaying for something close to fifteen.
  16. I can't believe nobody's replied to this. Huge +1. Ava is a great character, never flies into stupidity like a lot of the other doctors, is friendly with most everyone, is very well RPd and competent.
