I feel like this is a bit... exaggerated. I mean what you described happening to you was awful, I wouldn't try to diminish that. But that's definitely not the worst rule you could break. I think a lot of people dip a bit too far into ERP sometimes on the server and I don't think it's the worst thing. I mean I wouldn't do that sort of thing on the server, but I don't think someone's a horrible creepy freak if they were to, and I would think a lot less of most people who would act like that was the case.

I've had two particularly dumb ones that stick out. 1. Was playing HoP. Insisted on searching the outside of the station for the body of a QM who had stupidly suffocated himself to death. I'd assumed he'd gone EVA, gone SSD and ran out of air. STephanos Remes, my HOP had an artificial heart. I wandered by the singularity during my search, not considering that it would explode his heart. Found out while dead that the QM in question locked himself in the locker in his office with internals on for no reason. 2. Was planning on breaking someone out of perma. Took off ID and put on a found Syndicate space suit. Was lagging a lot so kept having to throw shit around every time I drifted off. Ran out of shit to throw and took off my jumpsuit, forgetting that my oxygen tank I was using was in my pocket.

Yeah I recently had a conversation to this effect. Nothing is gained by stewing and thinking you should just quit the community. If you have a problem, put it out there. Even when you're completely opposed to someone, remember there's a human on the other side and most of the people on this server are reasonable.

No. Even 'by those standards'. Breaking server rules and doing something highly illegal and abusing your power is not the same as roughing someone up for harassing you. And breaking a signed injunction keeping them away. The 'bionic arm' exaggeration doesn't factor in. What they did was a reasonable IC response. What you did was an absurd escalation from an IC and OOC standpoint, both.

It's not cirumventing anything. You're not obligated to join a game you don't want to play, that would be ridiculous. The minimum player requirement is a limit of mechanics. If not many people are on, NUke requires more than a simple majority to be played. That's just how the mode works. And yeah, Nuke isn't a shitty gankfest one in a hundred times. But most people don't want to play those odds. Good for you if you're a nuke op who uses clever methods. A vast majority aren't.

I think it should also depend on the size of the item, which adds more strategic viability to things like sleepypens and e-swords and small items, aside from the realism that it's not as hard to palm them.

Nepotism, embezzlement, and crime exist in plenty of large corporations. The Jawdats haven't done anything near as blatant as the shit that goes on in real life.

What's the evidence of that, though? If most NT stations were as marvelously incompetent as ours, how is NT such a massive company? Logistically, it doesn't make sense. Incompetence does not preclude profit. The station does what it needs to. It mines plasma and makes scientific discoveries, even with all of the problems it probably still turns a profit. And I just say that because it reflects the status of SS13 in general. We may think we have chucklefucks on our server but have you played other servers? Other servers can be analogous to other stations, I'd say. Also keep in mind antag rounds are generally not canon and non-RPd shifts outnumber actual RPd shifts, it's safe to say the station is far more productive than it appears.

Nehma.Gadan@NT.net He will buy your stock at your requested price, then. He sees potential in this establishment.

The two xeno heads of staff that I am actively tracking are Jawdat and Uaekis. Both of them are troublesome, and I, frankly, expect both to be eliminated from the command roster within the next month. If not through IC means, then through OOC means, due to how ridiculous it is becoming for, at least Jawdat, to hold a command position. So, the argument is valid. However. The argument is misdirected. We are not discussing individuals here. Individuals out of bounds will be eliminated in the long run, as they being targeted right now. We are discussing IC and OOC groupings, mixed together, which does not make for a good result. OOCly, it might be true that some players of the IPC races, like Inverted, are more level-headed and less edgy 2kewl4u than Covert and Jackboot. It does not mean that we should whitelist a race just on these grounds, and unwhitelist a race or two. It simply means that we remove Covert and Jackboot from the command roster. Is it really that Houssam is unfit, or is it that you personally have a problem with Jackboot specifically because I've seen a LOT of heads that are blatantly worse that haven't gotten public declarations of imminent death. I've never seen Houssam do anything openly against regulations. If he breaks regulations it's always in a quiet way. And I don't think Houssam being the only Tajaran head of staff is related to the restriction being heavily enforced, I just think nobody has bothered trying. Hell we had at least one regular Tajaran head of security, and they did way more questionable stuff than Houssam ever did. I think people cling too hard to the "alien heads" restrictions in general. Well nevermind Taina summed it up nicely. Also, yes, IPCs are very new and experimental, from an IC standpoint, aren't they? There's probably a load of security concerns about their reliability since they're so new. Tajaran have been in the fold for a while, and Unathi have for a bit as well. Admittedly I don't know much about Skrell and Dionae.

Everyone thinks Aurora is the station that everyone laughs at but that's because it's held to a higher standard. The reality of it is, most of NTs other stations are way bigger fuckups, and only people who have transferred from other stations realize it.

Funny how Houssam went from bad guy because of corporate regulations to the opposite.

I'm with Tenenza. Night vision would be cooler, I think. Alternatively make night vision or a flashlight a downloadable module?
-
I'm in favor of moving back to the rubber bullets. It was overpowered before, but with the advent of pain crit instead of instant knockdown, I think it should get another look
-
Yes, this is true, but it almost never works out that way. Usually the first two loads have tons of plasma and there's really nothing to do with all of it. You can send it back to NT on the cargo shuttle but the problem is, as 1138 pointed out, most people forget about it because the reward for doing so is nearly nonexistent. Even from an IC standpoint, cargo points are not really particularly valuable. A cash bonus would probably be more appropriate.

I have to admit I was one of them. I didn't know it was you (not that it matters) and I thought "look at this dumbass trying to take on a spider with a baton" then you did that shit.
-
That /was/ the inspiration, if you pay attention to the Asteroid's background music. The problem is miners don't care about upgrades half the time anyway. They do one or two loads and chill in the bar the whole shift because if Science can set you up with decent equipment they probably don't need you to mine anyway
-
TG's mining has something similar. Miners load the materials into it, they get points they can use to buy things, and scientists can withdraw the materials as needed.

@DoubleDoctor: Yeah, well fuck you too. I'm not gonna waste my time filling out forms for giving a roboticist a not-really-dangerous substance that doesn't cost us anything and he could easily get himself anyway. I might as well make him fill out forms asking permission to use paper. Crystal Brookes

Going to have to say a nope here. Your character has 0 knowledge on antags. The only person with antag knowledge is the Research Director. That knowledge is on the facehuggers. They don't know what they are but they do know the organs of a facehugger if they find one, because of Lamarr in their office. I will post on this later tomorrow in regards to the complaint. Well, there needs to be things more clearly written where the server differs from the established lore of the game. On the Identifying Antagonists wiki page, which, as far as I know, we don't have our own alternative to, this is written: I don't think I or anyone else has a problem with our server diverting from standard Baystation lore and rules but given our game is still based on Bay and the Bay wiki is the first resource for anyone looking for information about the game, it should be very clearly written if that's the official ruling. That means, in my opinion, that making an Aurora Identifying Antagonists page should be a very high priority. I should clarify, because what I said came off as harsh. I'm not angry with you over that incident. I previously had a low opinion of you because of that and similar things, but you seemed to move past acting like that and you're trying not to do it. But it was disappointing to see you go back to that. Control your frustration is all, or at least channel it to the right places. Not saying in LOOC "they just shot me while I was here on the table" when people come to investigate. You're right about it not being a game to be 'won' but that doesn't mean people are obligated to 'lose' on purpose. When you regenerate in front of people, in custody, you're asking to be detained or experimented on.
-
Well, technically. Xenobio has some knowledge of changelings. Yeah gonna call bullshit here. Many times when there's an antag situation and you get the short end of it, you don't just get mad, but you complain in OOC. In this round in question you complained in OOC about being stuck in a strait jacket, and I've seen you do it before, including one particularly egregious example involving me personally where I was a vampire in a vampire round, and you said "Oh, it's a vampire round" as soon as you died, then later announced in OOC that you were dead, too. So you're hardly the poster girl for 'losing is fun'.

So we'll be deleting detectives backpacks too, then, right?

I remember George Melons. Not the metaphorical idea of George Melons. The actual flesh and blood George Melons who taught me how to chemistry back when Chemistry was part of Science

I feel like I've posted in support of Kiwi before, but I'll do it again. Good guy, I've been playing with Kiwi for a while, since they were on Alium when I was as well. Good RP, levelheaded. I don't remember them ever doing anything bad at all.
