There are typically two ways to manage a mining drone, you can either release it into the wild and forget it ever exists, which will probably become less viable now that they're going to have smaller mining satchels, or you can take it with you on adventures, letting it rendezvous to your ore box you're towing along. Either way, if you want to get it to do anything specific, you need to run up to it and whisper sweet tender things to it, which is really hard when mining drones range out far and wide. So...let them listen to supply's radio channel, so that miners can tell them when they need to come back to get upgrades or if they've moved the ore crate. And other Completely Not Malicious Thingsā¢.

Wizards often have highly varied stories and gimmicks behind themselves, thus it would probably be beneficial for them to be able to stream Basic Shit You Should Know By Yourself tm to their apprentices via Antag OOC.

Ass. I would rather we not get into allowing music items, they cause lag and sound like crap (even the piano is not something I want to be hearing all the time as it walks around on a mobile source). And of course if we let one person have his special snowflake noise maker, other people will want them as well.

I have just realised that there are only two ladders that go from the main level to the surface (t-comms doesn't count piss off alberyk), one is below the bar, the other is way way out of the way by command. For the sake of the uninitiated, please make this bar ladder more obvious or just add more ladders.

I'd really rather the banana peel be removed from the bar backroom. There is leaving things undone for people to set up to their liking at the start of the round...and then there is leaving crap around to annoy people on a roundly basis, I do not feel like it contributes anything worthwhile to things. I'd like it if we could see a return of the ashtray in the bar, it's a nice thing for those bar smokers, especially considering that by default cigarettes will eventually just dump on the floor at your feet otherwise. If we could get an ATM inside the bar as well, that'd be great. Running out to the entrance to give a tip seems off to me. Perhaps here?

So I looked at new map bar and I realised that it has lost one table of space, this rustled my jimmies because I like to use all that space for various things, including my bar shotgun. But rather than angrily demanding more space, how about we get a shotgun rack out front? For those people who feel that wearing a shotgun on your back all the time is a bit intimidating to people (cough) but want to keep it around. Hackie of old provided sprites for this a while ago. https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=72&t=2979&p=30435&hilit=hackie#p29083 Although I am 80% sure he didn't make them himself, and I'm not sure how to contact him to ask him where he got them from. If we do not feel good about using sprites from an unknown source (thus cannot be credited properly), I hope someone would be inclined to make their own. (If anyone does, it could probably do with being a bit larger.) Here are some spots I thought it could go.

Our server has a slight problem where about a quarter of our IC rules are randomly spread about the forums and/or just show up in-game randomly instead of being kept somewhere you can view them, with little existing efforts to show people they exist. These rules are mostly obscure and enforcement is spotty to non-existent, but they do exist and I'm putting them here for kicks. Uniform regulations show up in CCIA announcements that they do at random whim but the announcement does not encompass the full extent of the rule. http://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=5539#p56041 You will probably not encounter this unless you're naked or I'm playing CMO at the time but if you do encounter it, this is where it's coming from. Obscure lore-crap:This is stuff that is mostly forgotten but was supposed to have some effect or another back when it was done. By its nature of being forgotten/ignored by everyone there's not much risk of being called out on your ignorance but you know, if you're curious... You're not allowed to work with other mega-corporations during and after your employment with Nanotrasen, so y'know, if you decide you want to go 'fukNT!!1!' then you might want to keep in mind that good work on the same level may not be strictly easy to come by. Also some stuff about signing a non-disclosure agreement after employment with NT. https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=5539#p56041 90% of Tajara are not supposed to have comfy Russian or Arabian names, fortunately, no one enforces this. https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=3173#p58490 If you're a Unathi then you're theoretically required to swear loyalty to Tau Ceti's government or face fines for the rest of your life when working with NT, of course, everyone just about stopped caring about this 2 weeks after it was a thing. The form still exists in the requests console database too. https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=2981&start=20#p53103 Heads of staff among you may not be aware of first contact protocol, this was made back when Xander was a CCIA IIRC, so it is technically official, as far as I know. This is also a good way to find out whether or not someone actually gave you Head of Staff forum access. https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=6678 There is of course, more stuff like this around but none comes to mind at the moment.

It does look a bit intense to me but I'd honestly need to see it in-game to make a proper opinion. Although...if M'sai can be so intensely white, Njarir can probably get away with being so orange.

Fire and Glory's good boy awards
Fire and Glory replied to Fire and Glory's topic in Off Topic Discussion
anytime bby who even are you tbh i can't appreciate good writing and because i am a fair judge i recognize that i am unqualified to say which lore dev is a good boy -
I actually mentioned something like this on discord, though it wasn't responded to. The rest of this isn't directly related to the topic here as Sierra is suggesting quirks of genetics as opposed to just bringing your fur color to the loreguy and have them go "yup that's a zhan" but I'll just leave it here anyway. I certainly wouldn't be disappointed if that was done. Shrug.

Make firefighting a more common, entertaining occurence
Fire and Glory replied to driecg36's topic in Archive
Solid fuel fires actually exist. Apply a wrench to a welder tank and the fuel will spill on the floor, which you can then ignite for a fire that won't spread. (although if there's too much then it'll still heat the room to 400C) All that's needed for your dreams is something that'd actually cause those fires. Welder fuel coming out of the scrubber backsurge when? -
Fire and Glory's good boy awards

CRASA and M1-X are official good synth boys but prate stopped playing CRASA and started playing a sass bot named bit so they're on the bad synth boy list -
Lets face it the yearly rewards are biased in favor of who has the largest cliques so I am taking it upon myself to issue good boy awards to those who truly deserve it The best HoP boy is Aaron Bernhoff, who knows how to afraid of anything but isn't completely submissive/non-existent The best HoS boy is Milo Frost, who is cool and is absolutely not a fun-hater Best CE boy is Riley Finlay because he dindu nuffin Sergio Juan, Rob Oster, and Zander Moon are the best bald boys, but Moon has been removed because he grew hair The best bar boys are Senri Ishikawa, Jack Mitchell, and Caleb Green Ishikawa killed himself so he's out though Bokaza is the best wizard boy, orchestrating the wizard federation's invasion into tau ceti in a way that was unique and actually antagonistic a good mod boy is coalf who is a little annoying and a bit salty but is also pretty awright Lukas Chapman and Arthur Sommer are nice security boys because Sommer is just so cute and chapman was alright then he became lukas yotin who is not awright my favorite chaplain boy was a guy with a name like Maximus, he gave of an airy feeling of just so slightly kooky religiousness which made him cool without him overdoing it like so many other chaplains, he even helped raymond hawkins with an exorcism at least once Since I do not remember this boy I will instead list Walter Keck as the chaplain boy with a snappy name The reward for being a good boy is a pat on the back* *Must be self administered

[1 Dismissal] Make tape act as blockers again.
Fire and Glory replied to LordRaven001's topic in Archive
I believe Nanako 's fears are for the most part unfounded. To cause it to become a serious problem in a fight would require: The knowledge that there's going to be a fight in the area soon, which more often than not is very difficult to predict. Someone to set it up, likely in the face of his peers, which would raise the question of why this sounds like a good idea. The attacking force to be using help intent, which'd mean that there's probably three or more, which means it's probably nuke/heist/cult/rev, which circles back to my first point of not knowing that they're actually going to be fighting there, due to the hit-and-run nature of the first two and the covert status of the last two. Alternatively you could be setting up tape during a fight in a place where the enemy is more likely to be moving through than your allies, which for the most part sounds like a bad idea to me. And may or may not be classified as powergaming depending on the staff who are active at the time. With all this considered, I would imagine running through tape in a fight wouldn't be a piece of cake anyway from a realistic standpoint. Anyways, I support restricted movement depending on help intent. -
I don't mean to be asinine with definitions but I do believe that since you're changing existing lore and history to be something different, it counts as rewriting it. Whether it's changing the race's theme and appearance compared to the rest of the universe or how they behave towards each other. Although if you are still convinced otherwise then I am content to leave off from here.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong because I barely know diddly squat about Vaurca, but wouldn't all of these fall under the 'rewrite' category? Vaurca have queens, cannot currently do any body-swapping and certain individuals (the queens) do know that home exists and its state. So you would be enacting changes on the already existing lore.

Make it possible to break violins
Fire and Glory replied to Fire and Glory's topic in Completed Projects
you can always cut their throat with the shrapnel -
I think it needs to be possible to smash violins in one manner or another. Reasons why I think so: 1:Violins sound like arse 2:The people who use violins are often purposely trying to be annoying 3:It'd add a nice bit of resolution to any issues someone has with these violin players, given that security will never have time to deal with such people. Below is how I think breaking one should go.
