[IMPORTANT] Head of Staff Whitelist Forum Access
Fire and Glory replied to Skull132's topic in General
I don't believe you actually have a head-of-staff whitelist? -
>and am foremost a player of draconic and lizard species in any and all games that allow it. >got a tajaran whitelist first lies They can't actually do that these days, now they just eat Ian, Runtime, and every space carp that gets brought on the station. It's Ouerea not Ouere >:[ 'Zija is an Unathi woman who got married out of her sense of duty to her people,' Did you mean:A woman who had her marriage arranged? 'Cause that sentence is currently inaccurate looking at the rest of the application. how rebellious The backstory seems like it doesn't have any inaccuracies that I can see and is most importantly, believable, it seems like a plausible way for a Unathi wimmon to be working for Nanotrasens, and I rather like it, myself. That's all I have to add, really, I don't see anything wrong from here.

I suggest changing the name to "flower magnet" because you need to realise that no one can see the description while it's being worn, so no one is going to know it's actually a magnet with casual observation, when normally a magnet would be obvious.

http://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=99&t=6728&p=69186&hilit=ring#p66261 I'd note that this'd probably create a paradox where two people have what should be the same ring.

Just give Telescience RMP for teleporting and receiving things, you get diminishing returns for teleporting things into and out of the same "area" (like 'space', or 'bridge'.), so people'd actually have to shift coordinates, you get a lot more RMP if you're teleporting and receiving mobs, mayhaps even a little bit more if they're humanoid mobs.

Feedback for Nikki/Monica and Robert Huntington
Fire and Glory replied to MoondancerPony's topic in Character Stories
I was spooking around today when I spied on Robert changing jobs from Cargo Technician to Assistant with the HoP, because there was a IPC in cargo. This strikes me as rather silly, I don't think someone who's incapable of working with certain species's in Tau Ceti would be around for very long. Not to mention Exodus has a looot of synths, AI's and station-bounds everywhere, so I don't really see why he'd work there. -
The thing about Hardsuits is that the price for getting their suite of options means you lose a lot of storage space, so you can't afford to carry some of the minor things, even if they're not particularly important. Like the good old megaphone, while it is rather situational, from time to time I've found myself glad to have one, and looking at how most hardsuits are meant to enhance your presence, why not let us be loud as well? So I suggest the integrated Megaphone, if you activate it then you get the prompt same as a regular megaphone, and you go from there, all ERT hardsuits come with one and Robotics can make their own for a cheap cost. Given that the CE is the sort to be on-site directing repairs, give his suit one as well. Need to have the helmet deployed to activate, doesn't have a power cost.

Vox are thieves, raiders, and untrustworthy merchants, they do not work for Nanotrasen, and I believe as long as Skull has a say, they never will, as such applying to be one is a waste of time. Not to mention you never actually said in the backstory how on earth such a Vox ended up working for NT in the first place.

The answer is actually quite simple, everyone lives on planets. Much like the shuttle going from Exodus to Odin (or SS13 to Central if you prefer.) there are also shuttles going to and from Odin on Biesel, the capital planet of the system our space station is in, and other planets. Think of it as like taking the bus to work. I advise you read our wiki for some general information on everything if you haven't already. EDIT:My bad. Some people live on space stations too, though, Odin/Central is a massive hub I believe and has its own dorms for living in. Although I am not part of the official (or unofficial) lore team, I'm speaking very confidently here and I imagine a lot of people would be very surprised if I'm somehow wrong. Slight correction, although we used to have the NSS Aurora, it's decommissioned and everyone is ICly working on the NSS Exodus. (Much to the confusion of anyone ever who joins.) I guess no one actually thought how NT employees live would ever be in question.

BRAINOS' Spriter Application
Fire and Glory replied to BRAINOS's topic in Developer Applications Archives
This is some pretty nice stuff and it would be great to have someone who can actually sprite on the dev team. Seems goot. Haven't seen you before though, but spriters don't really get dev-perms IIRC, so doesn't seem bad. -
IPC Application - Jorven Brent
Fire and Glory replied to Jorven's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Didn't read the actual character and I haven't had any real OOC judgements on you, mostly here to talk about your perceptions on IPC's. Much like their completely synthetic brothers, Cybernetic IPC's can go either way, maybe he feels like he's a superior being now and composes himself as such, or maybe he was a bit bonkers and even more kooky now, etcetera. IPC's have not and have never been linked to station AI's, that's one of the things that separates them from handless station-bounds, any kin-ship or similarity of action you see in an IPC is purely because it doesn't think much of the crew and would rather buddy up with the AI. Since in the past, we used to have Cybernetic IPCs (which we lost due to code transfer), I don't see any issue with pretending to have them now. Kudos for dramatic character development, that's always nice to see. -
Remove dorms from the list of places for the pest random event.
Fire and Glory replied to sonicgotnuked's topic in Archive
This makes sense, even if hostile mobs don't attack SSD's, it'd hardly be a pleasant thing to reconnect to. -
Acceptable, I have some doubts on just how sterile it is, but if it's not going to be worn during surgery operations then I don't have a real issue with it.
-
Question, does Zohjar do surgery, if he does, is he going to wear that coat while doing it?
-
Of course, but in the matter of heads of staff actually having authority to order officers, they do.
-
I would note that every Head of Staff has valid authority to order security to do things so long as it's actually something reasonable security could do, as mentioned in the Expectations of Security.
-
I like the idea in theory. I feel like it'll end up being really irritating in the end, however. Captain's will give conduct medals to their favorite employee's on a regular basis, some guy will always be receiving a bronze heart or a security robusting medal because people always get injured and security always beats up the antags. My two cents.

[Denied] HunterRS's Whitelist App Trial 3
Fire and Glory replied to HunterRS's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
This is just me and not something I weigh against other people on applications as a substantial factor, but personally, I think someone applying for a whitelist show an amount of confidence in themselves, if someone completely deflates after seeing opposition, and lets it be known, it throws off the feeling that they don't think they don't really think they deserve it, or believe they're just not capable of appealing to the community. While you don't have to blindly believe you'll somehow get it, there's accepting the opposition with determination, and saying you'll revise it, make it better, or otherwise stating that you'll do what you can and try to win them over, either now or later, then there's with dignity, where you accept that the community's concerns are perhaps valid, and you won't be able to change them easily. And then there's saying that there's no point and it should be scrubbed away... This isn't really suited for the current application now, but should you try again, try to have an amount of confidence, it'll make a better impression on people, and even if it doesn't get your whitelist accepted, it'll give a better impression of you to the community on the whole. -
[Denied] HunterRS's Whitelist App Trial 3

If you want to remove the application, I advise using the report thread button. -
Taj are meant to be bad sprinters overall, conservation of energy in a winter enviroment and all that. Unathi sprint is fast enough to be bordering on absurd, I advise tuning it back a little bit, make them a little slower, let them run a little further.

Reporting Personnel: Usiki Guwan. Rank of Reporting Personnel: Chief Medical Officer. Game ID: b3t5Xf Personnel Involved: (Name, Rank: Offender/Witness/Other (Ckey)) - Usiki Guwan, Witness and Reporting Personnel, Fire and Glory. - Rrazujun Rrhazkal-Jawdat, Head of Personnel, Offender, Jackboot. - Edward Cane, Interim loyalty-implanted Head of Security, Witness and involved, Commander Xor. - Jaylor Rameu, Quartermaster, Witness and potentially involved, EvilBrage. - Yumi Yotin, Engineering Apprentice, Witness, Tricking Trapster. Time of Incident: 07/11/2458. Real time: 7th of November, approx 10:40-11:00, UTC +12 Location of Incident: Departures. Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard []Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property []Neglect of Duty []Harassment [x]Assault [x]Misconduct []Other _____ Overview of the Incident:It was crew transfer so I went to departures, when I entered, I saw the Head of Personnel, Jawdat, inside the airlock with the Quartermaster, Jaylor Rameu, both the inner and outer doors were closed, the vent inside depressurized a small amount of air and then the inner airlock opened and Rameu walked back inside, he did not seem overly concerned with anything that happened. The Interim Head of Security whom I had given a loyalty implant earlier however, Edward Cane, did take issue, I believe he questioned Jawdat on what he was doing, Jawdat failed to answer and pulled Cane to the airlock, then pushed him in, bodily blocking the way out, I am not sure whatever Jawdat intended, but Cane was alarmed and used his pepperspray to get Jawdat out of the airlock, when they were both out, Jawdat was ardently denying any hostile intent while failing to clarify what his intent was, and then stated that he was going to have Cane demoted immediately and demanded Cane accompany him to the Head of Personnel's Office, when Cane failed to do so and the shuttle docked, Jawdat drew his energy gun and emptied the stun into Cane, I had elected to avoid the engagement and boarded the shuttle, Cane and Jawdat had also boarded the shuttle and then it launched. Did you report it to a Head of Department or IAA? If so, who?:There was neither staff nor time to report it to a Captain or IAA. Actions taken: There was little time for anything to be done. Additional notes:Yumi Yotin and Jaylor Rameu were present during the entirety of the events described.

In my opinion, IPC sprint is fine, they have a leg up over organics because they can recharge themselves almost anywhere and recover quickly.
